Hearing her boyfriend's voice made Esme really happy, like it always did. And he had great timing because she hadn't gotten too far into her search; she needed his help and input because this was a together thing. They did everything together and she loved it.

"Hey, babe! That's wonderful!" Her smile grew even bigger when he placed them all on the table. "I just started a little while ago, so you didn't miss much." Basically she hadn't found any possibilities yet. "I'm so happy," she said as she hugged him and kissed his cheek. His paintings would continue to sell because he was an amazing artist. He never stopped making her proud with his work.

FearlessLeader19 08-29-2018 10:59 PM

Olly smiled widely when Esme hugged and kissed him. He put an arm around her shoulder. “I’m happy too.’’ So happy that it was impossible to get it all out in words. Life was going wonderfully for him, for them. Now, he peered at the flyers. Esme certainly had quite a few to go through. As did he since he was joining this activity.

“Are there any that you like so far? Or anything suitable for our budget?’’ Of course they had to keep those two factors in mind. They didn’t want to overspend but they didn’t want to end up with something they didn’t like. This house had to be perfect. Olly randomly picked up a flyer from Esme’s lap. It showed a large house. From the look of it, it was too expensive not to mention flashy. He and Esme were looking for something simple but comfortable.

WhittyBitty 09-01-2018 07:34 PM

Esme beamed, knowing that Olly was every bit as excited and happy as she was about everything. They were going to have an amazing home for them and the baby. It was more a matter of finding something that was within their price range. And keeping it from her parents for the moment because knowing them, they would INSIST on helping out with money.

"Not really," she admitted. "I saw a few nice ones, but they seemed to be a little more than we need." And judging by the flier that he was looking at, he had spotted another one that fit the description. "See, that's nice and everything, but it's more than I want." Esme had grown up living in a huge house and it wasn't something that she really NEEDED, even if she had liked her home. She just preferred a more simple life.

FearlessLeader19 09-02-2018 03:09 PM

Yes, he was right. The house printed on the flier was much too big for them. “I agree,’’ he said and discarded the flier by placing it on the chair next to him. He picked up another. This one was a smaller house with two bedrooms, a living room and kitchen. But looking at the yard space, there wasn’t enough. Since he and Esme were about to have their first baby, space was important since the child would obviously grow and want to run around outside. In short, he didn’t think much about that one.

“Not much space outdoors,’’ Olly explained to Esme and discarding that one as well. He flicked some strands of hair out of his eyes. “This is tougher than it sounds.’’ Looking at the amount of fliers they had to go through, this was going to take some time. “So none in particular caught your eyes as yet, baby?’’

WhittyBitty 09-12-2018 03:23 AM

Esme nodded. She knew that Olly would agree with her on that point, because he was very similar in his thinking on such matters. And of course he was right about the second option not having much space for a backyard. That was important. Whatever house they ended up getting, there had to be enough room for their child to be able to play, like she had been at her home.

Another nod. "It is, but I am sure that we will manage something. I'm not seeing much so far, but I wonder if we could find something near where my parents live? Just a thought... If there is anything a little less expensive." Esme was just thinking about the fact that her house had been near to the beach; she and her siblings had walked there many times with her parents over the years.

FearlessLeader19 09-15-2018 04:25 PM

Near to her parents?

If in another life Oliver had been still terrified of Maddox, he would have gently and firmly tried to decline. As it was, he had a great relationship with Esme’s parents and siblings so he was not going to refuse her. “We can see if we find something.’’ He knew it would have been difficult for her to leave the home she was accustomed to for so many years and then have to start all over again with him.

“So something close to the beach as well?’’ This narrowed down the options by quite a bit. Olly began to sift through the flyers, discarding all those ones that did not advertise houses close to her parents. Those that did, he put on Esme’s lap for her to take a closer look.

WhittyBitty 09-21-2018 04:08 AM

Esme took Olly's hand and squeezed it. They would look near her parents place, but it would be okay if they ended up elsewhere. As long as it wasn't TOO far away from them. The important thing was that she was with him. "I think so, yeah. It's okay if we don't, I just thought that it was something worth looking in to." If he had something else in mind she would be completely okay with it. "Are there any areas that you are keen on?"

Esme began glancing at the fliers that he gave her. "It's so exciting to think that we will have our own house!" The apartment was great and all, but a HOUSE. Wow.

FearlessLeader19 09-23-2018 09:13 PM

Esme’s hand was soft in his and he lightly squeezed hers back. It was a reassuring sort of squeeze to show that he didn’t mind her suggestion. “No, it’s fine. We’ll just look at those first then we’ll see what other options there are.’’ Olly shook his head, in the process shaking his black hair out of his eyes. “Not really. Just about the space and that we should both like it.’’ He smiled, knowing that they would both agree on something eventually because they were such a great team.

“Our own house and our own baby.’’ The thought about having a baby was scary and it still did send Olly’s heart racing though not as much as before. He gently rested a hand against Esme’s belly which had started to show. “When will we start feeling him or her move?’’ he asked, completely at lost when it came to baby things.

WhittyBitty 09-27-2018 03:24 AM

Esme beamed, knowing that they would be able to settle on a place soon enough. If nothing caught their eye from the stash of brochures, there were also newspapers. She hadn't really touched those yet. "Sounds great to me. We both are looking for the same thing, so it will be sorted in no time." She nodded. They really were in sync on most things, and that was a part of why they worked so well together.

The discussion turned to the baby, and Esme was happy even if she was still scared. It was reassuring to know that they would be able to handle this and figure things out as they went along. They also had help if needed. She put her hand on top of his. "I'm not sure. I looked it up, and it said it can be anywhere between 18 and 22 weeks, but it differs. Hopefully soon enough though." She was excited for that.

FearlessLeader19 09-30-2018 10:15 PM

Yes, they were indeed both looking for the same thing. As it was, Olly continued scouring the pamphlets. “Who knew house hunting could be this difficult?’’ he asked absently, pausing at one pamphlet. “Look, baby. This one is kind of close to your parents. And it’s a cottage.’’ The pamphlet was extended to Esme. “What do you think?”

Between eighteen and twenty-two weeks? “That’s a long while. How many are we at right now?’’ Oliver tried to mentally do the count but he was so bad at this. He couldn’t even remember for how long Esme was pregnant. He looked sheepishly at her, hoping she wasn’t mad at him for forgetting such important things.

WhittyBitty 10-06-2018 08:06 PM

Mmmm. Olly was right about that; Esme had expected SOME challenge when it came to finding a new place to live, she just thought it would be a little EASIER than this. Maybe they were picky? All she knew was that she wanted the best for their family, and her boyfriend did as well. Though... the mention of a cottage near her parents piqued her interest immediately. She took the pamphlet and looked it over. "Well, it looks like it would be a nice place to live, and my parents would definitely approve. It would be nice to have family nearby." It was just a shame that his was so far away in South Africa...

While some women might get annoyed with the man for forgetting, Esme didn't. She knew that he was just as excited and scared as she was, there was just so much on his plate right now. Besides, she was keeping better track of these things. "About fifteen." So really it wasn't TOO far away.

FearlessLeader19 10-11-2018 02:34 AM

Esme approved of that one. Great. “I think we should add that to the top of the pile then.’’ He took the pamphlet from her hand and placed it at the top of the set that they had approved of. Olly didn’t know why but he was drawn to that house but since they had a bit more pamphlets to go through, he guessed that he had to still keep an open mind. “I sense that we’ll make a decision soon,’’ he commented confidently.

Hadn’t Esme told him this before? Now that Oliver thought over the response to his question, he was certain that she did. An apologetic look was given to her. “I remember now. That’s so close but so far away.’’ It reminded him that they needed to get a move on making a decision regarding their new house.

WhittyBitty 10-20-2018 06:28 PM

They were that much closer to having a new house, and Esme was getting really excited thinking about that prospect. Their apartment was great, but she was imagining all that they could do with the cottage. "It's going to be great setting everything up in our new home!" Maybe she was getting a little ahead of herself since they hadn't even gone to look at it yet, and someone else might get it first, but still. "I'll look at my tarot cards later and see what they say." Okay, maybe she was joking, but still. She loved Divination. Even if it wasn't an exact science by any means, it was still fun. Well, she enjoyed it at least...

"It's okay, baby." Esme smiled and squeezed his hand, seeing that he looked sorry for forgetting. She understood because he was under a lot of stress what with nerves and all the painting he was doing. Now they were looking for a house as well. "It is, but at least we made some progress! When do you want to start looking?"

FearlessLeader19 10-23-2018 01:31 AM

Esme’s excitement was on the rise and Oliver could feel it. He honestly loved how enthusiastic she was about this, even if she was more than he was. It wasn’t that he wasn’t excited; it was just how he was. He was more on the reserved side as always, rarely letting his emotions be shown to anyone but those who meant the most to him. The tarot card statement got a laugh out of him. “You do that. I’m sure there will be great things written in those cards.’’

Olly was so lucky to have such an understanding woman. He counted this blessing every day. He let the pressure on his hand continue as he thought about when they should start looking. “It would be great to go today,’’ the young man said It would be great for them get things settled soon.

WhittyBitty 11-14-2018 10:41 PM

Esme giggled. She loved how Olly managed to get her sense of humor and never was bothered by her love of Divination. He was just the most amazing boyfriend in the world and she loved him so much. "That sounds perfect to me! And maybe we can stop by to see my parents if you want to?" They didn't have to or anything, but if they were in the area, it wouldn't be a bad idea to say hello...

Wowow, Esme was just excited. Every time something new opened up and there was a possibility of something new happening, she couldn't help herself. Maybe it was a little childish of her, but she didn't care. She was just happy.

FearlessLeader19 11-19-2018 02:17 AM

What a cute little giggle.

Olly took the time to look at Esme with a tender look. Her face transformed into an even more beautiful one whenever she laughed or giggle. Really, how was it that she managed to do this? He supposed that was her secret. He’d just admire and be a big fan of the results. He nodded at the question. “Why not? I miss your parents. Even your brother.’’ The Darcy family was his own, after all.

“Shall we, then?’’ Oliver disentangled himself from his girlfriend and held out a hand. “Need help?’’ He always liked to help Esme out when she needed it since it could be difficult to move about as she used to. “I just want to take a quick shower before we leave.’’

WhittyBitty 11-24-2018 07:09 PM

Esme snorted. She had to admit that she rather missed River too even though he could be really annoying. He was still her brother and loved his sisters in his own way even if he didn't always show it. "I'm sure that they miss you too. Dad will probably want to have some bonding time." That was always great to see, and she knew that Olly really enjoyed it. Her dad was so fond of both him and Leon and it was wonderful to see.

Nodding, she took his hand and let him help her get up. Even though she could still do things, it was getting harder and harder. Soon enough she would feel as big as a house and would have difficulty doing anything. Esme was not looking forward to it, but she would deal with it when the time came. "I guess I should freshen up too. I feel like a slob." She smiled. She was dressed in her comfy clothes, but they just made her feel more relaxed and at ease.

FearlessLeader19 11-28-2018 02:47 AM

Bonding time...

Oliver thought that over and what it could mean for him and Maddox. He was picturing Maddox pulling him into a long-winded lecture on how to raise a child. Quite frankly, he would prefer a lecture on how to remain calm when the baby was about to be born. Surely Maddox would have a few tips... Maybe Olly could even ask his own dad even though he and Naida were both adopted.

The young man helped Esme get to her feet. “I think you look perfect,’’ was all he said. It was true. Besides, he would think that the girlfriend looked perfect even if her hair was a mess and she was wearing tattered clothes. “You go ahead though. In the meanwhile, I’ll organise these pamphlets.’’ So that they’re not lying all over, of course.

WhittyBitty 12-09-2018 05:05 AM

Hmm.

Olly seemed to be rather lost in thought, and Esme wondered what could be on his mind. His comment made her blush though. "You always say that, and I think you look perfect too. Always." Her handsome man. After nodding, she gave him a kiss and then went on her way to make herself look more presentable.

FearlessLeader19 12-14-2018 11:38 PM

Scene 9
Oliver and Esme move into their new cottage.

So many boxes.

Oliver had not realised that between him and Esme, they had quite a huge amount of possessions. They had all been neatly packed and labelled so that they knew exactly what was what. Doing that had been hard work even with magic. Unpacking might be a little different. Needless to say he was worried about Esme overworking herself. He peered over at her. "Tired?'' And he waited to hear if she would snap at him because... hormones.

Olly reached for the box closest to him in the sparsely furnished living room. It was labelled 'Paintings and photos for walls'. With a wave of his wand, the contents soared out of the box then stuck to the walls at precisely the places where he directed them.

The young man was rather pleased with himself.

WhittyBitty 12-27-2018 04:38 AM

Okay, wow.

Moving was TIRING. Especially when one was pregnant. Esme was just glad that she had both Olly and magic to help her with this. Her lovely boyfriend.

Sighing, she looked around the living room, watching as he went about putting things on the wall in the exact places that he wanted them to be. "I am, yes. And pretty soon I will want to nap..." But for now, she started helping out with the unpacking, making her way to the kitchen to see what she could put in place there.

Merlin, she was hungry as well.

FearlessLeader19 01-01-2019 02:52 AM

Olly was very sympathetic towards Esme. Women were strong, especially his girlfriend and he respected that about them. “If you want to take a nap now, then that’s fine. I can handle this.’’ Yes, he could but then again, who knew if he would set up everything to perfection, the way which Esme would want it. If it were one thing he had learnt from her and his sister, girls were funny when it came to this sort of thing.

As it was, Olly was watching Esme as she moved to the kitchen. Over the last few months, her walk had gotten rather funny. At present, it seemed to him that she was waddling like a penguin. At that thought, he couldn’t suppress a chuckle. The act was immediately followed by him clamping a hand over his mouth.

Had Esme heard him?

He hadn’t meant to laugh...

WhittyBitty 01-08-2019 06:27 AM

Esme smiled at her boyfriend. He was so lovely and understanding. Sometimes she got a bit moody with him because of hormones, but he always took it in stride. But it wasn’t as if she bit his head off or anything. ”Are you sure? Maybe I will after I sort some things out in the kitchen...” Then ahe would have done some of the work before Olly took over.

”What’s so funny?” she asked, raising her brow as Olly laughed. Had something happened?

FearlessLeader19 01-13-2019 12:11 AM

That was his girlfriend for you, everyone. Esme was always determined, one of her traits that he admired. Actually, he had admired it since they attended Hogwarts but of course, he had never said anything about it back then. “Alright, baby,’’ he said, not at all minding if she helped or not. He could manage everything on his own with a little help from magic. Thank the heavens for it.

But... too bad.

Esme had heard his little laugh. Uh... oh no! Olly tried to arrange his face into a serious but natural look. “Nothing at all,’’ he said as innocently as possible. Goodness knew that she was so hormonal that she could snap at him. Or worst, work herself up in which case, it would be bad for her and the baby.

WhittyBitty 01-18-2019 05:53 AM

Olly said that he wasn't laughing at anything, but Esme wasn't buying it. Due to hormones and insecurities over the fact that she was fat now, she knew that he had to be laughing at HER. That was how a pregnant woman's brain could work, and because of it, she started to tear up.

"You're laughing at me because I'm fat!" Now Esme was crying.
