Welcome To The Lost City Of Atlantis



You are now underwater. There are seaweeds behind a moldy rock where each ambassador is supposed to sit. It was all set in the round so each ambassador had the same view. There are three merpeople sitting on three rocks already, waiting for the ministry ambassadors.

J.J. Starr has his wetsuit on and is under the water.Joe Jon Montcenaggio can't wait to meet the merpeople. J.J. awaits his orders.

"Sit." Maena, the Chieftainess of the Merpeople of Atlantis, said decisively. "We will begin shortly after your companions arrive." Thankfully the suits were equipt with magical translators, so JJ should have been able to understand her.

" Thank you" J.J. Starr told Maena. " I will wait here for my companions" Joe Jon Montcenaggio said to Maena. J.J. awaits patiently.

After difficultly putting her suit on, Sunny-Marie was finally under the water prepared for the meeting. She was shocked that on her first day she had ended up in Atlantis representing an area of the minstry she had just joined. Never mind that, she had just joined the ministry. She looked around and saw another ambasador whom she did not recognise - like most people she met here. Malachi was crazy putting me here, I have no clue.She thought.

Helena arrived with a pop -- or, well, a lot of bubbles. It really was very surreal to finally be in Atlantis. She smiled apologetically to her co workers that were already there, and to the three merpeople. It didn't help that she'd struggled to get that special suit on; it was very alien to her.

The woman saw that JJ Starr and one of the other people from her department sat on a stone, but was unsure of if she should go on over and sit down next to them. Helena looked towards the merpeople and nodded politely towards them, in greeting.

J.J. Starr waaved to the employee he has never seen at the office, but glad she is here to help.

Joe jon montcenaggio smiled brigthly at Helena. She helped him tremendously. J.J. also waved to her.

Nerine listened and watched at the first of these rude wizards arrived and was told to sit. He looked... vast, there was no other word for the man.

She watched the two young women with a shade more interest, but only a shade, taking in the simply bewildering arrangement of hair that each had. I'm not sure I will ever understand these... wizards. Or if I shall ever wish to. Nerine may have liked other to think she was serene and good humoured, but that impression did not usually last for very long.

"You should sit also." Her voice was vaguer than that of her mother, Maena, seemingly less decisive. "Sit, before you float away."

Helena looked at the merperson who spoke up to her and the other woman who'd arrived. Nodding at her instructions, Helena moved over towards JJ Starr, and took her seat next to him.

She really didn't want to float off... She had her family to look after back at home.

Whilst sat, she examined the merpeople with her eyes. They seemed very... interesting. Helena couldn't imagine having such a green hue all over her body though. She looked behind her, to where she'd appeared, to see if the other ambassadors were on their way.

Kelp wasn't as... determined as the two women with him. He certainly abided by things, because they were family; mother and sister respectively. But that certainly didn't mean he agreed, per se. He stayed still, almost, watching as the humans joined them where they were.

Humans were nice. They.. well they weren't terrible. Some did terrible things, but all in all, they were nice. Look at these nice people who were coming now! The merman gave each one a smile as they arrived, and then another as they sat.

Then just for a moment, from his seat on his rock, he turned his head to glance over at Nerina. This could sure get ... awkward, if she continued with her definitive belief that the humans were just plain at fault for most things.

J.J. Starr smiles at the merpeople. Joe Jon Montcenaggio really wants to help them. J.J. will be very nice to all of them.

And that was why she disliked using portkeys to get places.

Harmony wriggld in her wetsuit, these things were like dry and all so yeah that was a good thing but they were all sticky, and like stuck to her. She looked over to her co-workers giving them a small smile. She was lateeee, this wasn't a good start. She looked over at the Merpeople and smiled politely giving them a small wave. EEEEP. Merpeople, she'd always wanted to meet a mermaid or merman. And now she like was. She stayed were she was standing waiting to be told what to do just incase she wasn't meant to go sit down and whatnot.

Maena seemed to be getting impatient. "Well I think we'll start." She said and swam up a bit so they would understand she was talking. The reason for this meeting is that the wizarding world does not respect the ways of the Merpeople. Our people." She said regally. "Your world continues to throw litter and rubbish in our waters and it comes to rest here. In our homes." She then swam down to her seat. "What say you?"

" This is the worst thing that can happen to all of you" J.J. Starr told Maena. " I make sure never to throw anything in the water or any other place except the garbage bins plus I do recycling" Joe Jon Montcenaggio explained to Maena. " I want to help you all by going out and spreading the word to all the Wizards , Witches, half-Muggles and Muggles " J.J. said to Maena.

Sunny glanced at everyone and smiled, then everyone started speaking.

'I feel very strongly about the mess that lies around our world. We do not appreciate our home and certainly not the merpeople. I am always saying to people who drop things to pick it up and I really think more people should be like that. Wizards and Muggles alike.'

People looked at her and she felt very self-conscious. Nobody knew who she was and she had just said a whole load of Gobbledegook. How embarassing. thought Sunny.

I'm Sunny-Marie Smith by the way. This is my first day so I beg your pardon if I'm talking nonsense.'

"Thank you Mr. Montcenaggio," The chieftainess said, inclining her head. "But one person cannot fix our problem. We need this to be law. And some of the other countries will not listen." She said.

"Miss Smith, I am Maena, Chieftainess of Atlantis. This is my daughter, Nerine, she will be Chieftainess when I am no longer here. And this is my son, Kelp, he is the Captain of the Mermaid army. I am grateful you were sent here and you are not talking nonsense. But I think we need to do something other than talk. Can you spear the wizards who aren't doing as they are told?" She said.

"We need co-operation from the whole world" J.J. Starr agreed with Maena. " Then we should get a law passed by the Ministry and if any witches, wizards, half -mugglees or muggles do not follow this rule. they could be fined heavily" Joe jon Montcenaggio explained to Maena. " I think if you spear the Wizards or try to spear them, you could incite another world war" J.J. old maena.

"Pffft! You should be able to spear them! Punish them in our tradition, since it is our world they are polluting with their potions!" Nerine snapped, narrowing her eyes. "Your words will mean nothing if they are not followed up by proper action!"

Nerine took a deep gulp of water, bubbles coming out of her mouth as he breathed out again. "We need proper assurance that you can actually do something about the shocking things that end up in our waters." She said in a much calmer tone, taking hold of two large jars, both of which glowed with the remnants of unknown potions. "How would you like this to blow into your living quarters?" She asked the wizards and witches.

Helena listened to the merperson (Who was it, Maena? Ah, Helena wasn't sure!) as she spoke. Waiting for her turn to speak up, the middle aged woman listened to everyones contributions. "Um, well... I personally choose to live away from the cities, because I hate the pollution created by the cars... They used to make me ill. So, I can kind of relate to this issue." Helena tapped her knee, thinking of what to say next. "I believe that in order to fix the pollution problem, we'd have to start within the English Ministry, and then span outwards. So, then introduce some kind of law - as you just said to J.J. Starr - to the English Wizarding population; then moving on to convincing the European Wizarding community, so on and so forth."


The woman nodded slightly. She wasn't sure how well that idea would work in realistic terms, but it was more than just saying that she was going to recycle more.

As one of the merpeople brought up the idea of spearing those who polluted, Helena looked at them a little alarmed. "Violence like that could be a deterrant, but it could also send some of the wizarding population into a rebellion against the plans to make the waters cleaner. To be quite honest, I think weapons should be left out of the matter." She nodded, and shrunk into her seat to indicate that that was all she had to say about the weapons.

Looking at Nerine as she said something about following words up with actions, Helena nodded. Well obviously. When the merperson produced two rather radioactive looking jars out, Helena frowned and eyed the jars suspiciously. She really didn't fancy THAT floating around the Yorkshire Dales... it could ruin her orchids and berry patches. And that would be bad.

The woman shook her head. "Oh, I certainly wouldn't want that floating around the air..." Looking at the merperson holding the jars, she sat up a little straighter. "What kind of assurance is it, that you're looking for from us?"

'Thank you Chieftaitness. Wizards and Muggles should be fined, there has to be a consequence.' Sun shifted her weight as to make herself more comfortable. People were watching her again. 'Unless there are other valid punishments anyone can think of. We should get in touch with the Muggle Prime Minister, I'm sure he would love to hear of this meeting.'

"Well, if you have that type of attitude, nothing will ever get done" J.J. Starr told Nerine. "Well, I hate to say this, but you want a war, not a solution" Joe Jon Montcenaggio said to Nerine. " You are right, those glowing bottles should not be in yoru water and we really need to do something about this travesty " J.J. explained to Nerine.

Nerine frowned at the large wizard. "You see my attitude as aggressive? It is the behaviour of wizards that provokes the aggression to begin with! You wizards are polluting our homes, why can we not punish you as we see fit?" She cast a glance around the others sat there. "It is we who suffer, not you, when our waters are polluted, so the perpetrators should be punished by us!"

Nerine looked at her mother, waiting for her to state what the demands of the merpeople were, wondering if she had spoken out of turn.

'We understand completely Chieftaitness, I think what JJ is trying to say is that we shouldn't be unreasonable. This should b sorted out calmly as to not result in a fude. If the worst comes to worst proper action wil need to take place but for now we need a peaceful way of thinking.' Sunny looked at JJ, unsure if she had fixed the problem.

"Thank you " J.J. Starr told Sunny " You understood me perfextly" Joe Jon montcenaggio said to Sunny. " I think I will listen to you and then talk" J.J. smiled.

Kelp's eyes hesitated to roll as his mother and sister brought up the notion of spearing the perpetrators.

"Nerine." He directed it to her, with a glance, almost as if he couldn't address his mother with this. "Spearing isn't necessary. Solutions are." If they all wanted to live in peace, minus the pollution, well then they didn't need to go spearing people. And as captain of the Mermaid Army, he certainly wouldn't stand for it. Certainly not.

It was inhumane.

Ah, he liked these humans. They had worthy points. "I agree. The use of spearing would only invest us into a war, and that's certainly not what we want, is it Mother? A war means more problems." And wasn't that what they were trying to abolish?
