Level 6 Work Area and Cubicles Housing the Apparition Office, the Floo Network Authority, the Broom Regulatory Control, and the Portkey Office, the work area for the Department of Magical Transportation is extensive. All employees of the department, including the Division Heads, work in this space Four distinct grouping of desks occupy the four quarters of the room for divisions to sit and work together. If you need someone from another Division? Just give a shout to the other side of the room. At the far end of the room, opposite the door, four slightly larger desks are arranged side-by-side. These are the desks for the Divisions Heads. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them! |
Armen had recieved the owl from Mr. Trumball that morning when he had arrived at the Ministry and was so excited to get to Level 6. The letter had contained news of a remodel that had taken place and now all the Divisions had workspace in one giant room. That would allow for better inter-Divison working and planning. Not to mention less of those memos flying around the air. After getting off the lifts and bouncing excitedly down the hall, he paused before he crossed the corner into the open work area. After taking a deep breath he continued on to see the new office. IT WAS AMAZING!!!! He was the only one in there so far and, after looking around to check that fact, he actually jumped at the spot in joy. He walked over to larger desks that were set along the back wall that were for the Division heads. He walked around the deep mahogany desk, noticing that he had recieved some new leather chairs for guests to speak to him. He sat down and placed his briefcase on the floor next to him. |
Jayden cruised into the new office. Things looked good. The department had done some remodeling recently and decided to put all the cubicles together. He walked over to his new desk and took a seat. He settled into his chair. Not too bad. He was now getting used to the steady job. And it helped that he had met a certain young lady whom he was looking very forward to having dinner with. He looked over at his calendar. It was March. Which meant they'd be getting a lot busier soon with the Hogwarts students taking their tests. |
Ingrid strolled into the new office laden with madam malkins shopping bags. Christians owl about the remodelling of Level 6 couldn't have come at worse time. She hadn't pictured herlf having to come into the office on a saturday just to fix up her desk. But now she was here. Pulling away some black strands of hair Ingrid waved over to Jayden "Morning, Jayden! I hope you like the new office?" Walking past several empty desks she finally came up to her own desk next to Armen's. Dropping her bags down on the desk with a THUD Ingrid turned to Armen with a big smile "Isn't this fantastic? Now we don't need to go anywhere to have any meeting. We can have them right here.." Perfect! Seating herself down in her new chair Ingrid took the first memo from her inbox tray and started to work. |
Theron Anastakis was carrying a large open box with all his personal belongings inside, mainly that of pictures of his children and one of his departed wife. Though many years had gone by since her passing, he still kept a single picture of her with him always. He went over to one of the four large desks, he could only assume were for the division heads and placed the box on top of the one meant for the Floo Network Division head. It was always weird being the new guy, but he was very excited about working at the Ministry. He first took out his pictures. First, was a picture of his oldest, Lissa, who was now 14. He knew how much it pained her to move back to London, but she was soon settling into Hogwarts, though she preferred her Greek friends she had made over the years. The next pictures was his youngest Sonja, always smiling. She certainly had a way of her dad wrapped around his little finger. And the last picture was that of his beloved wife, Elizabeth, always glowing and radiant as usual. He then took out a few more items, like a couple of ink wells and quills. He kept things quite organized. He took a moment and took a seat at his new desk and new position. How interesting this was going to be. |
Laura had her nose buried in the letter she had received earlier about the Ministry's remodeling. How exciting was that!? She hurried habitually in the direction of the Portkey Office. The Portkey Office that apparently no longer existed, as she discovered. It started out as a "hm, the doorknob's missing" thought. And then, she backed up and did a double take. Wow, Laura. Genius. Darn habits. Folding up the letter and slipping it back into the pocket of her jacket, she readjusted the bags slung over her shoulder and made her way over to the new work area. She walked on in, eyes wandering around. There were already several people. Laura spotted Armen and made a point to smile and wave a hello to her boss. Supposing that it was time now to find her new desk, Laura maneuvered through the cubicles to the Portkey Division corner. This whole set up indeed seem practical. Choosing a desk, Laura set down her bag on the chair and began to take her items out to arrange on the desk; a couple pictures of herself and her sister, Kenzie, a mini potted plant, an amber paperweight, several inkwells and quills, and a pad of Post-Its. Merlin, were they nifty. |

John walked into the Magical Transportation office for the first time in months, he had recently been ill with something that baffled the healers and was later named to be an extremely rare case of Habbotitis but he was now back and when he walked through the door he was confused, everything looked completely diffrent and he now had absolutly no idea were he was to go so taking a look around he couldnt see anyone he recognised but then again there was some people he couldnt quite see so instead he spoke up and said, "Hello im John Milloy, i havent been here for a while and i was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to my department head" (ooc. Portkey ;) ) |
Quote:
"Mr. Milloy!" He approached the man and extended a hand. "Welcome back. I'm Christian Trumbull, the Transportation Department Head. If you're looking for your Division Head..." Christian paused, trying to recall which Division the man was in. "Well, all the Division Head's desk are over there." He pointed over to the four larger desks. "Ingrid for Apparition, Jordan for Brooms, Theron for Floo and Armen for Portkey." |

"Thank you for your help, its good to be back" He said as he went to walk up to Armens desk to announce his arrival. |
Sorry it took so long guys! :) Armen had been the first one in the new office and was at his desk when the first of the employees began to arrive, and it just so happened to not be one of his. He smiled and greeted the man and then went back to putting his things back onto his new desk. He had just place a photo of a younger Armen Recard with a blond girl, both of them clad in Hogwarts attire, his Ravenclaw, her Gryffindor, at a Quidditch match. Both of the students smiling and hugging as Armen looked at it. Quote:

He then looked around the newly renovated offfice space. "Oh and as you have probably noticed, the office has been changed up a bit from what you remember. We have consolodated the four Divisions into one big office space. You are free to choose what desk you want and begin to settle in. Those four desks," he pointed to the four, large desk in th eback, where he had just vacated his. "Those are for the four Division Heads. So if you need anythign while you are working that is where I will be." he nodded happily, it was good to get his employee back! |

Theron began examining his desk a bit more. Clearly Mr. Wickham wasn't a very organized man. He opened the first drawer a large FIREBALL burst put of the drawer and began bouncing off the walls in every direction. Catching loose pieces of paper on fire. "INCOMING!!!" Theron shouted to warn the others, as he quickly duck as the fireball came soaring towards him. He took out his wand and pointed at the fireball, "Aguamenti!" he shouted, but as soon as the water his the fireball, it multiplied into three other fireballs. Theron continued to duck. What was it going to take to stop these things if water didn't work? |

Ingrid ducked again as two fireballs came straight for her. Seeing the danger she cried out "Protego!" over her desk. At least now her desk and its supplies would be protected. While she had done that Theron had tried killing the fireballs with water which had only caussed them to multiply. Determined to take all the fire balls out Ingrid raised her wand and walked straight for the biggest group of fireballs flicking her wand snappily "Immobulous!" hoping that it would stop the fire balls in their tracks. |

He clapped the Portkey Employee on the back as he asked what he had missed. "Well John, as I'm sure you noticed from...wherever you were, the Quidditch World Cup commensed a few months ago and we were right in the thick of it here on Level 6." Armen rubbed his hands together. "We were in charge of setting up and regulating the forms of Transportation to and from the event." he then thought. "After that it was a bit quiet for a bit, and then the Ministry underwent a remodleing and you came here just as they finished. We currently have a Level-wide party going on in the Conference room if you would like to pop down there sometime." Nodding he continued. "Umm... and that is about it. You've met the new Department Head, Mr. Trumbell and your desk is whichever one over there you would like!" he ended happily. Quote:
"So Ingrid do you collect the Wizarding Cards?" the Portkey Division Head said to his colleage, and desk neighbor. Quote:

He watched at the fireballs flew around the office and came pretty close to the other employees and their belongings. "Everyone use Protego on your desks. And protect yourselfs too." he said loudly. Armen saw Ingrid been to slow the flying flames with Immobulus. He didn't know what spell Craig Wickham could have used to create these things, but he may recieve a summons to the Division for Experimental charms. The only thing he could think of would be to try and finish off the fires. He poitned his wand at one of the stopped fireballs across from his desk at eye-level. "Finite!" he shouted and the spell making the flames stay alive ended and the fireball disappeared. "Everyone cast Finite on the remaining two Fireballs and they should die." he said glad to have found something that could stop the menacing fire balls flying around Level 6. |

Noticing Theron's attempt to put out the fireballs with Aguamenti, Laura realized that water only made things worse. Great! She dodged another fireball and snatched her picture on her desk as it was narrowly missed by the fire. Laura heard Ingrid already in action and Armen shouting about protecting the desks. She reached for her wand and pointed it at hers. "Protego!" Laura turned in time to see Armen get rid of a fireball with Finite and then turned to the nearest of the remaining fireballs, casting the same spell on it, and watching its flame end. |

"Yea i met Christian , i thought he " he began as everything spiralled out of control as several fire balls swerved around the room, pointing his wand at one that was near a stack of paper he said loudly "Finite!" |

"John Milloy?" she said upon seeing him. She had never really seen his wandmanship, since they only knew each other briefly in the office. "It's been too long!" What had he been gone this long for? An illness or something like that, if she wasn't mistaken. "How are you?" she asked. |

More fireballs came her way and Ingrid turned away from Armen to dispose of the menace. It seemed like they only kept on coming. What on earth gave Craig the idea of having them statched in a desk drawer? Shaking her head Ingrid avoided a fireball by an inch as it just brushed passed her right ear. Turning back to Armen as the fireballs weren't attacking as hard she wiped her brow. "I have never collected wizards cards. I might start now. Unless these pesky fireballs don't incarcerate all the frogs." Looking around the room Ingrid's eyes stopped on Theron who was ducking beside his new desk. Calling to him she asked "Theron! Can you see if there is an end of fireballs in sight?" Quote:

"Far Too long He said as he turned and noticed who exactly he was talking to "So what has been going on since i last ditched you guys for a deathbed?". Quote:

OOC: Okay, so I'm just going to pretend that Laura already knows about her promotion. Quote:

"Well, you missed the helping out with the World Cup," Laura shrugged. "Did you happen to get to see the match, though?" It would have been a shame if John had been too ill to see the Quidditch World Cup. "And obviously, the Ministry went through the remodel," she added, waving her hand around to indicate the new work area. "The Portkey section is over there," she said, pointing. "So, I suppose you can choose one of those desks. Don't mind my things. I was just about to move them up to the division heads' section, just in case you want to take my desk." |
