Courtroom Ten

As one pushes the heavy wooden doors to Courtroom Ten, they feel the cold of the dark stone walls surrounding them. The dimly lit torches illuminate just enough to see the silouettes of the Wizengamot, but brightly focus on the defendant. In the center of the courtroom is a wooden chair from which magical chains hang from. This is where the accused sits and waits for the virdict to be given. Fifty Wizengamot members seats are situated in the judge's balcony, overlooking the chair from above. The Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement sits at the left of the minister of magic, and the Senior Undersecretary to their right. The Interrogator who presides over the court, as well as the other member of the Wizengamot is seated in their assigned spot, clad in their plum-colored robes adorned with an elaborate silver "W" on the left side. The court scribe is seated on the main floor, below the judge's balcony and is just waiting to take notes on the proceedings.

"Where do you think the Muggle's got the idea from?" Prometheus joked, as he stepped through the door into the collosal-ceilinged room that was the Courtroom.

"I haven't been in here for months," he muttered pensively, as he through how the Italian courts he had been working in were so much more welcoming than the one he stood in now. Setting his quill off again, Prometheus watched as the room was copied inch for inch, onto the parchment. It was a perfect record, the drawn distance was the exact scale of the real distance from the bench to the accused chair. Even the chains of the chair were recorded.


Waving his wand, Prometheus declared, "Homenum Revelio," before flicking his wand and adding "SpeRevelio."

Dorian raised an eyebrow at the flippancy of Prometheus' joke, at least given the situation they were handling. But he imagined gallows humor was jsut as good as regular, even if he was still not very apt to use it. "It's possible," he said dryly. As far as he remembered, that Muggle movie was way beyond their time, however, so it was obviously not his owl if it had influenced the writers. But then they'd stepped into Courtroom ten, and he leaned against one of the walls as his partner started working. "Neither have I," he replied to the pensive muttering. Words echoed a bit down here, so it was impossible to keep things to yourself.

He let his grey eyes scan everything as Prometheus did his drawing, and then copied the spells he'd cast in the hallway. And a slight clearing of the throat met the results. Only echoes, it seemed. That was good, but he had a feeling the quietness down here wouldn't last. Flicking his wand in a quick movement, he silently cast a charm that would make a loud noise if anyone dark tried to pass through the doors on their own, loud enough for the upper levels to hear. Obviously there would need to be a loophole, or the next time they scheduled a trial everyone's eardrums would burst. But nefarious deeds wouldnt occur while anyone from MLES was down here, as they were all ready to handle the situation, Now, at least. And that way Prometheus' owl wouldn't overextend itself in the surveiilance.

"All seems quite, and just as it should," Prometheus stated as he waved his wand, causing the room blue-prints to vanish.

Watching as Dorian, added a few other enchantment, Prometheus turned to him, "Anythin else we can thing of?" To Prometheus it seemed as though their first task was complete, and though it had been a rather simple mission, it had wetted the apetite of the young man. Bole had breathed life back into Level Two, and Prometheus was excited.

Dorian had continued watching everything Prometheus had been doing, even as he'd been augmenting things with his own spells. It always paid to be aware of everything around one, and that seemed to be especially the case now. With everything he knew Evander wasn't really telling them. What had been said was enough to put him on his guard again, and therefore he was going to make sure his partner wasn't going to do anything wrong.

He fully turned to the other man, though, as he finished up his casting and slid his wand back into its holster. "Well, we have surveillance and a bit of an alarm system down here taken care of. And we've cleared the area. So unless you have any more ideas, I'd say we're good," he said, making one last visual survey of the courtroom. He'd probably do the same when they were back in the corridor on their way back to report to Evander, but then that was to be expected. No stone left unturned. That sort of thing, he guessed. He wasn't about to let the new Head down.

"We're good," Prometheus nodded in agreement to blond man standing just behind him.

With one final sweep of the Courtroom with his eagle-sharp eyes, Prometheus turned towards the door. As he left he muttered a final spell, which cased the chains that hung over the 'accused chair' to coil like a snake and raise one end of the chain like the head of a cobra, ready to strike, forever watching the entrance.

Sliding his wand back into his wrist holster, Prometheus walked out into the corridor, eyed the hiding owl, and headed to the elevators, where he waited for Dorian to join him.

At Prometheus's quick spell as they'd gotten ready to exit the courtroom, Dorian nodded slightly. "Good idea, if a little obvious," he murmured, loud enough for the other man to hear. A cobra-like chain was disconcerting, but then he had a feeling it wouldn't startle those they were up against. Not to mention it revealed there were charms active, but that was hard to avoid down here. But then they were heading back into the corridor, and Dorian made sure the door to the courtroom was securely shut behind them before joining his colleague at the stairs leading up to Level Nine and the lifts.
