As you make your way down the second level corridor there is a lovely antique mirror hanging on the wall. It is to the left of a HUGE blue bulletin board. As you approach and stop to take a look you are surprised by a little giggle and a musical voice that starts to speak to you. Do you look put together today? I certainly hope so....

Antigone stepped up to her magical mirror and sighed as she looked at herself. She straightened the colar of her strached dress shirt and smoothed out the wrinkles of her skirt. "Mirror, how do I look today?" she asked tentatively. Although the mirror had always been nice to her she was a bit afraid of it's answer today.

"Oh lovely Antigone... thou art lovely as always." THe mirror said in her sing songy voice and gave a little giggle.


Antigone couldn't help but smile at her lovely little mirror and say, "Oh Mirror! You always know what to say to brighten my day." She smoothed out her hair a bit and smirked.

Malachi was making his way, albeit as slowly as he could manage, to Antigone's office. But he didn't need to go that far because here she was... talking to a mirror?

"Tiggy? Or would you rather I called you Ms McArdle?" He asked quietly.

Antigone heard his approach and heard his voice but didn't turn from her mirror just yet. She steeled herself for the sight of him was sure to hurt her even now. THey had shared so much love.

"Ohhhhh no you did not just call My Antigone by anything other than her proper name! How dare you. Miss Antigone I do hope he isn't a suitor because he is a raggamuffin of a man. Not as lovely as the men that come through these halls!"

Antigone's mouth dropped open as her mirror insulted Malachi. She felt the urge to giggle but she held it in. "Mirror, it's perfectly fine, he and I are old friends," she said with emphasis on the last word.

Turning to see him she was shocked. "Malachi you do look like Hell. What? Has your child's mother not been caring for you like she should? Haven't bounced onto the next woman? And you may call me Miss McArdle whilst in my work area, please." she said as she narrowed her eyes at him and spit the venomous words.

Malachi rubbed his hand over his slightly gaunt face. "I deserved that, Miss McArdle." he said quietly. He looked at her, she was so beautiful and he was still so much in love with her that it hurt.

"Elizabeth left about ten minutes after you did. Esme is living with me now." He sighed. He took a letter out of his pocket. "I had absolutely no idea that she existed because that was what her mother wanted. You don't have to believe me, but I do need for her to go to Hogwarts. She was... expelled from Beauxbatons. All I can find out is that she was apparently behaving in a "combative and unladylike" way. Here, that's the letter they sent me."

He held out the letter for her. "I know Hogwarts doesn't have to take her but I don't know what I'm going to do with her if they don't. I'd appreciate your advice."

Antigone went into business mode and took the letter from Malachi and read the Proper French and frowned. "Well, we can get her into Hogwarts, Malchi, no worries. There are far worse things than unladylike behavior going on there. You have nothing to explain to me about that woman or the child you share with her," Antigone said, her tone softening. "I will need all of her transcripts and information to send to Tat... The Headmaster. Consider it done though, Malachi." she added as she looked back up at him.

She thought he needed a woman's touch. A woman to take care of him, but she couldn't be that although part of her ached to do so. She did however reach out and push his hair out of his gaunt face. "You should go get a bite to eat in the cafeteria," she said finally, hand still resting on his face for a moment.

Malachi breathed a sigh of relief when Antigone said that Hogwarts would take her. He completely missed the remark about worse things, but he had heard whispers already. "Thank you, Miss McArdle." He liked the formal nature of their rather impromptu meeting, it made holding back his feelings a little easier.

And then she made it so much harder. His skin tingled where she touched his face. He covered her hand with his own, closing his eyes for a moment and swallowing hard. Gently, because he didn't want to hurt her feelings, he lifted her hand away from his cheek although he held on to her fingers for as long as he could. "I... my appetite isn't what it was. I'm living on coffee at the moment." He looked into her eyes but couldn't hold her gaze. "I'm sorry that you had to overhear all that unpleasantness between Elizabeth and I. I know that you probably have some awful idea that I ditched her and ran for the hills but that wasn't the case. Quite the reverse in fact." Just like you, he thought, although it was rather unfair of him to do so. The situations were totally and utterly different.

Malachi cleared his throat. "I'll let Esme know. I'm sure she'll be... completely and utterly ungrateful." He laughed humourlessly. "She's very... headstrong. Quirky and funny but so very headstrong. She wants to go to America or Canada or anywhere that isn't here." He rubbed his hand over his face again. "I suppose I deserve it all, don't I?" His eyes locked with hers, his pain closer to the surface.

Antigone still loved Malachi with a LARGE part of her heart but she knew that there was no way that they could be together anymore. THere had been irrepairable damage done to their relatiohship and they both had to deal with it. Cy and Tiggy were togetherish and that made her heart soar, but seeing Malachi in this state made it break at the same time. She knew she was part to blame for his pain. That pain bit back when he gently removed her hand from his cheek.

"Malachi, let me come and cook dinner for the two of you, meet the girl properly. I want us to be friends and if I have to nurse you back to health myself then I will do that. You have a child to care for and you cannot care for her properly in this state, boy-o. Whatever the case may be she is here now and things are... different... Things don't have to be hard though, we can still be in one another's lives. In fact, I would rather it to be that way. Can I meet her, Malachi? Can I help you with her in any way more?" she said, her intense eyes locked on him. She felt the need to take him under her wing and care for him... if he would let her, she would help him and Esme...

Malachi listened to her and smiled a little. What is it about me and these bossy women? He asked himself. He knew that having her in his flat would hurt him, but Esme needed a female influence and perhaps Antigone could be it.

"I... sure, of course you can meet her. She's rude though, at times but I'm sure that you'll charm her." He closed his eyes. This was going to be difficult for him but if he got to spend more time with Antigone and Esme it would be worth it.

He stepped a little closer to her and dropped his voice. "Between you and me, she looks just like my sister. Over breakfast, before I'm properly awake, I sometimes forget and call her Kitty..." His eyes misted up just a little and he blinked, looking away. "Umm, yeah. I suppose that makes me Bad Dad of the year, eh?"

Malachi realised how close they were, he could smell her Chanel perfume. He stepped back. "Yeah... can you come on Thursday? We'll cook for you though, I insist. I'm taking her to the theatre on Friday. She wants to see something called Wicked. I think it's something to do with a muggle's idea of what a witch should be. She thinks that it will be funny." He smiled properly, remembering the look of unrestrained joy on Esme's face when he showed her the tickets.

Antigone smiled crookedly and said, "Yes, darling, I used to teach Muggle children, I can deal with rude and charm the pants right off of some people..." Oops... bad choice of words. SHe blushed at her mistake and laughed heartily.

Then he said something that broke her heart in two when he stepped in closer and spoke of Kitty. "Oh Chi... How that must feel... I am so sorry that you are going through so much pain right now. Oh, I will be there with bells on and I insist that you let me bring dinner with me. I don't want either of you to lift a finger. And she'll love Wicked it is very humorous from our standpoint," Tiggy told him and closed the distance that he made between them again and tentatively put her arms around him and pulled him into a hug.

Malachi joined in with her laughter but he couldn't make it sound real. Her slip of the tongue just wasn't funny to him.

"Alright, you bring dinn-" The rest of his sentence stuck in his throat as she hugged him. He somehow restrained himself and did not kiss her... somehow. To kiss her would have been heaven for a moment but then he would have to deal with the consequences of having done so. He patted her awkwardly, wanting her to let go so that he didn't lose the tenuous grip that he had on his self control. "Miss McArdle, I sincerely hope you don't embrace all the concerned parents you meet in this way. Tongues will wag."

His attempt at humour rang hollow in his ears and he worried how it would sound to her. Would she be offended?

The mirror behind Antigone huffed as the ragged man said a rather rude remark about wagging tongues and concerned parents or something... "Why don't you just shoo him off, Miss Antigone. He looks like a poor little puppy over you right now. He might have fleas," said the mirror in her tinkling little voice dripping with disdain.


Antigone released him and eyed him sternly. "Malachi Brown, I will fix you up if it's the last thing I do. And that remark was a bit out of the way as Sheila said. YOu are more than just a concerned parent. You are part of my life and I will do whatever I can to help you... I know that I respnsible for a lot of the pain and anguish, allow me to help mend you. Hell, you can remove all memory of me from your brain if that is what it takes to make you better. I am sorry. I will see to it that the Headmaster gets her paperwork and we can try and get her sorted before term starts," Antigone said going into business mode.

"I will see you on Thursday with dinner made. Till then," she said as she turned on her heel and made her way down the corridor.

Malachi was disconcerted by her reaction, standing the slightly slack jawed watching her walk away. He pulled himself together and ran to catch up with her, skidding past her so that he could step in front of her.

He took a deep breath, knowing that he could only tell her this once. "I don't blame you. I never blamed you. I do love you and it does hurts to think that we can't be together, but I was never good enough for you. It was all my fault. All of it, I should have warned you what that slimey jarvey was capable of."

He grabbed one of her hands in both of his. "Those memories of us are the some of the most precious things that I have. I'd never be parted with them, never. Without you... I would still be in Fiji, no Esme in my life and that was... so lonely." He lifted her hand to his lips, kissing it gently. "I'm sorry if I made you thing differently."

He couldn't take the tension, it felt like it was eroding his insides. He released her hand and turned to walk away.

Antigone was startled when Chi ran on front of her and took her hand. She let him get it out, all of it. She just smiled and shook her head, placing her hand to his cheek before he turned to leave. "Chi... I was the one that was never good enough for you. One day you'll realize that and you will be far happier than anytime you spent with me in Fiji. I am glad you have Esme... I am glad you can move on. If it weren't for Eth- I am not sure that I would be in any fit state after us let's just say that. YOu need to focus on that child. I will help you." she said as she let her hand drop as he grasped it and kissed it. The electricity in his touch making her shudder slightly as she nodded and watched him walk away.

"You'll be okay, you know," she called after him.

Antigone's words rattled around him his brain. She still thought that she wasn't good enough for him... the two of them thinking that had caused so many problems, so much pain for them both. He couldn't think of being happier than the two of them had been in Fiji with another woman anywhere in the world.

She was right about Esme. Whether he could let her help him without going crazy was another matter.

He had felt the electricity crackle between them when he kissed her hand. It was madness to have done it and perhaps when it came to Antigone, he was a little bit mad. He made his way back to the lifts and away from her, back to his desk where he was safe... sort of.

"YOu know, Miss Antigone... I think that man might be slightly bonkers over you, you little minx" Shelia the Mirror called out to her and giggled.


Tiggy watched Malachi walk away without another word and made off toward... somewhere not there. She called over her shoulder, "Sheila, you are quite insightful when you want to be." She let a little grin spread her lips and rounded the corner just in time to hear the mirror give a little huff.

"I am insightful ALL of the time, Miss Antigone, all of the bloody time" the mirror said in a haughty tone.

Dan walked past an antique mirror, and heard a giggling sound. What on earth was that? Was the mirror laughing at him?

No one laughed at Dan McDean. Especially not inanimate objects.

Blast, he turned that magenta with his wand before moving on.

Guinea!Sam was RUNNING RUNNING RUNNING for his life!

He had just left that room with all those crazies that were trying to blind him to death! Couldn't they tell that he was just a little innocent Guinea pig that had been trying to sleeeep? Obviously not.

The little guinea pig ran for about 5 minutes until a voice stopped him:

"You are such an ugly guinea pig..."

The voice was coming from the magenta mirror that he was near.

Tasha had been running around for the past 5 hours, "Omg where is Sam, Im so terrified that something have happend to him. Or someone stepped on him" she thought, She started to look under all the desks and what not and then she spotted something.

"Was that something Pink?" she thought as she ran near the walls.

It was SAM!.. "SAM, Don't run!!" she yelled at him.. she managed to corner him and pick him up. He started to squiggle alot but she held on tight, but not to tight to hurt him.

"Don't worry Sam, We will fix this. You can count on me" she said while giving him a kiss on the top of the head.

"Even though your soo cute!" she said while carrying him back to the lifts.

Lyra stepped out of the office for a moment feeling the need for some fresh air. The rooms were a bit stuffy, bad for the hair and too much moisture would...well...it wouldn't be a pretty thing, her anger that is. But as soon as she stepped both feet into the hallway and closed the door behind her, there she saw the most beautiful thing....EVER!

Herself.

"Oh! Look what this place is doing to my hair. And the circle under my..." She stopped speaking when she heard the mirror began to speak. "Oh tell me I'm the most beautiful of them all," she giggled thinking back to that day of being a little girl and not having a care in the world.

Erik walked up to level 2 and headed toward his offices when he saw that cute girl he'd been talking to when looking for Antigone a few weeks ago in front of the mirror. Hearing her speak he smirked and walked over, leaning against the wall, "Well if that mirror doesn't say it, it needs to be replaced. Because as far as I can see ye are the most beautiful o' them all alright."

Hearing the sweet words of...not the mirror...Lyra slightly turned her head and looked towards the gentleman leaning against the wall. A sly smile emerged as she began to bat her eyelashes. "You know, I believe I like it better coming from you," she flirted with the handsome gentleman that she'd met...somewhere before. Oh she'd met so many people already, but how she couldn't remember this one, she had no idea.

"I believe we've met before, yes?" She held out her hand, of course not wanting a handshake, but rather wanted to see if he was a gentleman indeed. "Lyra Noir." As in the famous muggle fashion model who's picture seemed to be all over the muggle shopping areas.

Erik smirked as he saw her turn toward him and start batting her eyelashes. "Well perhaps because comin' from me it just sounds better," he said with a smirk as he stayed against the wall.

"Yes we have," seeing her hold out her hand to him he raised an eyebrow at it's position and pushed off the wall, "Erik Jensen." Taking her hand in his he met her eyes as he raised her hand up to his lips and kissed it lightly with a wink.

Well, this was more like it. A gentleman all the way around and one full of confidence, or himself. Lyra's green eyes watched as Erik kissed the back of her hand then gave her a wink. Yup. He was full of it and she liked that.

"Nice to have met you, Mr. Jensen," she grinned slyly before pulling her hand back to her side. She wasn't one to allow men the full satisfaction of capturing all of her, well there was one but he wasn't around much, even if at all.

She moved back to looking at herself in the mirror, fluffing her hair then shaking it out, allowing it to flow down her back. "I'm glad you spoke for the mirror. I was afraid I would have to punch and break it. I'm not one for seven years bad luck, especially when I've seemed to have luck on my side lately."

Erik smirked as Lyra pulled her hand from his and he leaned back against the wall casually. "Pleasure ta meet ye again." He watched as she went back to the mirror and started messing about with her hair. "Very understandable nor would I want ye ta have seven years of bad luck. Would be disastrous indeed depending on what the bad luck causes." He smirked and watched her some more.
