Amy remained a tight grip on James waist, "Yeah I guess not." She opened her eyes a slight bit more. "Really great," she said as she could also see the building.

james smiled at the nervous way she clung tightly to him as they rode. he turned into the parking lot. he found a spot and parked. He removed his helmet and turned a bit, oblivious to the wild state of his hair " you know you look pretty hot in that thing." He grinned as he reached and loosened the strap for her.

Sasha made sure that she was not getting him bored with stuff. so she started "you know........I have not felt this way before with any other guy. But you made me realise that. I think I'm not wrong" she did not know how she was able tospeak those words. Maybe some external invisible force made her act like that. Waiting for his reaction, she started walking.

Brian gently squeezed her as he said, "Thank you." He felt so special not to mention that it was extremely new and much needed one for his age. He never felt like this, not that he didnt move with the girls. But..yeah..seemed...finally...it happened. He let her go, and had slided his hand down, wrapped around her waist as they walked. Where did they go? Who knows? He looked down at her again, "I like your straight forwardness." he paused, "Ummm...will you be free in the evening?"

Egypt was excited to see her sister it had almost been a year, and she had a surprise for her. "Her she comes, go hide or something." She told India. India dissipated on the spot to await her sisters signal. Egypt saw her tiny wisp of a sister trotting up the street in her high heels.

She waved at her and jumped up from the table she was sitting at and ran toward her. "Peekaboo!" She shouted embracing her sister in a fierce hug.

Tommy returned the hug and started crying. "I miss you guys so much."

"Oh honey." Egypt said, she reached into her pocket and rubbed a silver locket, a second later India cracked right behind Tommy.

"Chickadee!" She hugged her from behind. Now everyone was in the tears. The three hugged each other for almost five minutes. "So lets sit down and enjoy a African lunch." She waved her wand and a picnic basket appeared and floated toward their table. They all sat down the plates and place setting arranged themselves. "So how it that two lovely African aristocrats would leave home to come to this dreary place?" She poured them some gilly water.

"I wanted to come to Hogwarts because it is one of the best magical schools in the world." Tommy told her sisters.

"I had to get away from mother. I had to come to a place where no one knew who we were." Egypt said. India reached out and toucher Egypt's hand, she knew how overbearing their mother could be when she wanted her daughters to do something she wanted them to do.

"Well, there is no sun here. And the men are so short." India was in a good mood, she was around her sisters and she had some news to share with them, but she didn't want to spoil their moods. "So, Hogwarts is not as bad as your letters make it seem?"

"The people are just so cold and distant. They won't let me in. I mean I try to make friends everywhere." She couldn't go on, she didn't want to cry anymore.

"Its the middle of the year and everyone is about to go home what do u expect?" Egypt asked.

"I don't know, a smile." Tommy said taking a gulp of her gilly water and taking a bite of her salad. She looked out across the park, it was full of muggles. They were all walking dogs or running in these funny little suits.

"Well I do have an announcement to make." India said, she couldn't wait any longer.

"I wonder how long she has been dying to say that." Tommy said rolling her eyes and giggling at Egypt.

"Anyways, ladies you are looking at the future Mrs. Issac Danvers!" She squealed waving her engagement ring in front of their faces. They all squealed and marveled at the ring. "Its a goblin setting with a phoenix tear diamond. It belonged to his grandmother. The fabulous Lady Danvers."

"Wow, you and Asia, getting married." Egypt said sitting back and looking at her sister. "How does the family feel about you being a Quidditch player?"

"Well his father is over the moon about it. I don't think his mother is too keen on the idea." She told them.

"I am so happy for you." Tommy told her, she really was happy for her sister, but deep down inside her heart was breaking. India was the only sister that she had that was not married, and they had been the best single sisters she could have wished for and now that too was going to be over.

Nathan was absolutely exhausted by now. He had surprised himself that he was still managing to stand upright. His green eyes were bloodshot, the black circles below were even more pronounced and his complexion was even paler than usual. He wandered out to the park desperately in need of some time away from the ministry. Spotting a vacant bench near the fountain, he made a b-line for it and sat down. He was tempted to have a quick kip, but knew that if he allowed himself this, he would probably not wake up for hours and hours. He yawned loudly and stretched before unfolding his muggle paper and began to read. Hopefully it would be interesting enough to keep him from nodding off.

They all turned around when the strange mad sat down on the bench. Egypt looked to see if he was a muggle, but the people in his paper were moving. "Its ok." she told her sisters

Tommy looked at India's beaming face and had to hide her feelings. "So when is the wedding going to be?"

"As soon as I can get Ireland and Irish to agree on what color goes best with my curly hair." India told them.

"Well I am having trouble getting a job at the ministry." Egypt confessed, she was hoping that she would have good news to tell her sisters. They both looked at her. "I put in a application weeks ago and I haven't heard from anyone

"Are they crazy? You are awesome." Tommy told her.

"I don't know what is going on. I thought my application was perfect and the interview was great I thought."

"Well you go back home if you can't get a job here?" India asked.

"Oh no, I got out of there Scott free. I am not putting myself back into mom's line of fire for nothing in the world." Egypt told them.

Nathan suddenly got the feeling he was being watched. He looked up from the pages of his muggle tabloid to see a group of young woman looking at him. What? Did he have food on his face or something? ...Maybe one of them worked in the Ministry – that would be the most rational explanation. But he didn’t recognise any of the faces. He hoped to hell that this wasn’t going to be a repeat of what happened in the Raven’s Claw, with the bloke from the Department of Mysteries. He knew Nathan by name and that he worked for the Law Department, but Nathan couldn’t for the life of him recall meeting the man. And this had worried the young man no end – he was usually good at remembering names and faces. He was starting to think that he maybe losing it completely. Maybe he should ease up on the firewhiskey from now on. ...Yeah. Right.

He gave the women a small smile, not wanting to look rude by ignoring them, before going back to his rubbishy muggle newspaper now with a slightly puzzled look on his tired pale face.

Egypt saw the man give her a smile and she started blushing. He was after all a wizard, and then it struck her that he may have been looking at her for the same reason that she was looking at him She flashed him a toothy smile as a apology for staring at him, even though he was a nice site to see in the dreay London weather. It made her sisters start laughing at her.

"I haven't seen you blush this much since Akeem said your pigtails were crooked." Tommy said laughing at Egypt.

She swung slowly back and forth as she listened to the wind blow through the trees. Everything was so peaceful, she managed to forget her problems. Even though everything in her life wasn't going as planned, she knew that everything was eventually going to turn for the better. A smile broke across her pale face, as she thought about a better time. The only real way things go get better for her was to let go of all the things that were holding her back.

Taking a deep breath in, she slipped the wedding band off her small finger. She held it in her palm for a moment, before throwing it as hard as she could. What was the point of wearing something, she no longer needed or was meant to wear. 'Good bye, Edison.' she thought to herself with a smile. She took another sip of her coffee as she thought about what she would do with her life, now that she had let something go that was keeping her from moving forward.

Nathan glanced at his watch realising that he was already late back from his break. He was doing really well today - turning up on his first day hung-over and in scruffy muggle attire. And he had made a fantastic first impression with the Law Squad Head of Department, Nicoli… er not. He stood up and noticed one of the women was smiling at him. He returned the smile with a warmer one than before and a polite nod in her direction. Maybe he had been introduced to her – his entire day thus far was much of a blur. He started off towards the ministry, shoving his crappy newspaper in a nearby bin. When he heard the group of women laughing he glanced back briefly before continuing back to the ministry.

Egypt was disappointed that her sisters cackiling had driven the young man off. "Now he thinks we were laughing at him." She told her sister while scowling at them.

"Then go set him straight." India shot back as a dare to her younger sister. Egypt looked at her and accepted the challange. She got up and ran after then young man, she caught up with him after a few strides.

"Hey." She reached out and tapped him on the shoulder. "I'm sorry about my sisters." She told him returning the warm smile that he gave her earlier.

Nathan was sauntering along slowly, not particuarly wanting to go back to work just yet. He had his hands shoved in his pockets and he yawned again, covering his mouth with one hand before it went back in the pocket. This was not good. He was wondering what assignments the MLES had planned for him this afternoon. Something which didn’t involve too much brain power… or any power for that matter. To be left alone with nothing to do would be a godsend. But that was never going to happen. Not in that chaotic office.

His train of thought was interrupted as he felt someone tap him on the shoulder. He turned, half expecting to see one of his muggle mates, but was pleasantly surprised to see the young woman who had smiled at him before. Now he found himself going through the files in his head trying to recall a name. Absolutely zilch. Surely he would surely remember meeting such a pretty, exotic looking woman. Maybe she didn’t work at the ministry at all, but he was convinced that she was a witch. “Hello.” he replied in his soft Edinburgh accent. And then he heard the apology and gave her a warm smile, looking past her at the two other girls before his tired green eyes locked onto hers again. “There’s no need to apologise, really.” He wasn’t even sure why she was apologising. Maybe they had been laughing at his expense before, which he didn’t particularly mind. To make someone smile was a good thing in his book, especially a group of young women. “Do you work at the ministry, love?” he asked, going on his gut that she was, indeed, a witch. He was also aware that time was ticking away and he was already running late. But work could wait - he would make up the time…. tomorrow after a good night’s sleep.

"I uh.." Up close he took her breathe away, he had a rugged quite look that seemed so effortless. She was momentarily at a lose for words. She could only stare for a few moments.

"No I don't have a job at the ministry. I hope to get a job." She shuffled her feet, to release some of her nervous tension, his green eyes pierced into her soul, and she felt exposed to the world with him looking at her like that. What in the bloody hell was wrong with her, she never got like that. Men just did not capture her attention like that, let alone keep it.

"Egypt Riddle." She said holding out her hand, she wasn't sure if she wanted his touch on her skin.

“Ah, the Ministry is notoriously bad at getting back to people.” He replied as he studied the rather striking young woman. But he could sense there was something wrong here – she seemed friendly enough, and yet uncomfortable in his presence. Maybe it was shyness. Then again, someone shy would not approach a strange man in a park just like that. “Which department did you apply for?” he asked gently, trying to make her feel at ease. If it was Law, she would probably be kept waiting for eternity, given the way the offices were run.

“Egypt? That’s a beautiful name”, he said as he shook her hand. “My name is Nathaniel. Nathan Greenwood." He gave her another warm smile which lit up his tired face and touched his eyes - the fatigue of a previous night's heavy session falling away momentarily. As the smile faded, the dark circles re-appeared under his eyes again. “Do you mind if we walk?” he asked her gesturing towards the ministry. “I take it you’re not from around these parts.”

"The Department of Magical Law Enforcement." She confessed. "It has been a long time since I spoke with someone in that department."


Nathan, she repeated the name over in her head, as she shook his hand. Her hand felt on fire when he released it.

She was happy that she made him smile like that. The years seemed to melt off his face when he smiled like that. He face clouded over again and it hurt Egypt so see him in pain or unhappy.

She looked toward the Ministry and nodded her head and went to follow him. "No this is my fist time to England. I am from Africa." She told him. "Are you a native?" She hated how that word sounded

Nathan who was focusing on the path in front of them as they walked, turned to look at Egypt as she told him she had applied to the Law department. “That’s where I work.” he replied. “My first day today but I can understand why they haven’t got back to you.” He focused his eyes on the distance towards the ministry. “I get the impression it’s not the smoothest run department in the ministry. So what was the job? An Auror?” he asked the young woman. She seemed to have an Aurory air about her.

“Africa?” he looked at her again. That was one of the few countries Nathan had never been to. “What made you want to come to cold, dull, drizzly old blighty then?” he asked with a smile. He chuckled lightly at her next choice of words, “I’m actually from Scotland.” He told her, emphasising his accent slightly. It was not as strong as it used to be. He’d not been back to the place for four years now, but it was still in his blood.

Parker yawned as she finally stood up from the swing. She inhaled deep before exhaling, she felt that everything was slowly becoming right in the world for her. As she was leaving the park, she noticed her bloody wedding band laying on the ground from where she threw it. Her eyes caught sight of a fountain, she throw the ring as and watched as it sunk into the water.

As she was leaving the park a few people standing about. She wondered for a moment whether or not they worked at the ministry, then again the could just be muggles.

"Oh no, I didn't have the transfiguration grade for that. I applied as a hit wizard." She told him walking beside him, her bare arm kept brushing up against him and she side stepped a little bit.

"Um, i had to get away from my mom and England seemed a good place to go." She laughed too and she was glad that he did not get offened by her choice of words.

"Scotland?" she asked. "That is interesting. I have never been." She said loving his accent

Nathan nodded slowly. “I guess we’ll be seeing more of each other then. I work for the Magical Law Enforcement Squad.” he told her, still trying to get used to the title himself. As far as he was aware, the MLES were above the Hit Wizards but under the same Head of Department so it was more than likely that they would end up working together... if she got the job, of course. “I’m sure you’ll hear soon, love.” He reassured her, “We’re rather understaffed at the moment.” Rather understaffed was the understatement of the century. They needed as much help as they could possibly get.

He felt her brush against his arm a couple of times and glanced over at her briefly as she moved away before squinting back towards the visitor’s entrance of the ministry.

"Parents. That seems a very valid reason to want to get away." he replied with a knowing nod.

He nodded, “Yep. It’s beautiful, but even wetter than London.” He smiled slightly at the fond memories of the place. “Where abouts in Africa are you from?” he asked and glanced briefly in her direction again. She had an aura of sophistication, almost aristocracy about her. Why on earth she wanted to talk to scruffy Nathan was a bit of a mystery to him, but he wasn’t going to complain. He actually felt quite at ease in her company despite this.

"I would like to see more of you." She told him before she could stop herself, she groaned and tried to cover up her mistake. "Well I hope they call soon. I would like to start work.

"Well I rather miss my dad, not my mom so much. She is very controlling." She wanted to change the subject from her mother. "I would love to see Scotland, I've seen pictures of your countrysides it seems like a nice place."

"I am from Ghana, its on the gold coast of Africa." She told him proudly. She saw him relax a little bit and she did to.

Nathan stopped walking and looked at Egypt as she said she would like to see more of him. Had he heard that right? What could she possibly see in him? He looked how felt - hung-over and exhausted, a total wreck. He hadn’t even shaved this morning. And it was times like these that he wished he had removed that damn engagement band. His right hand had gone to it subconsciously as she spoke. He gave her a weak but genuine smile, hoping she wouldn’t notice. “I hope so too, love.” he replied to her second comment before carrying on walking.

He glanced at her every so often as she spoke. He knew what is was to miss your family. His four younger brothers and kid sister… and his mother, but he would never see her again. His father was an entirely different story. “There’s nothing worse than a controlling parent.” he agreed, realising it was a subject neither of them wished to discuss.

“How can you possibly say that when you’ve come all the way from the sunny coast of Ghana?” Nathan teased the woman. “Surely your country is far more beautiful than this overcrowded, populated place.” he gave her a playful wink. “Nah ..Scotland is beautiful. But cold, and when the heavens open, it rains with a vengeance. …I actually grew up in a wizarding village just outside of Edinburgh… so no mountains for me without the need to travel” He suddenly realised he was waffling on a bit in his usual incoherent way, probably boring the poor woman to death, so shut up promptly.

“Sounds truly amazing.” he replied as she spoke of Ghana. He knew exactly where it was but didn’t say this. Nathan had done a hell of a lot of travelling and his knowledge of the globe was pretty good.

Egypt knew she had went too far when he stopped and stared at her, and the flash of gold on that tell tale finger told her the story she didn't want see. She had overstepped her bounds, and she felt bad for flirting with him.

She played with a curl in her hair to distract herself, "Yes Ghana is gorgeous, and I miss it a lot, but the whole of the world is beautiful too and I want to see it." She widened the gap between them to physically and mental distant herself from him.

"I grew up in a walled city full of nothing but pureblood wizards." She told him.

Nathan was unable to hide the disappointment in his face as Egypt moved away from him. He wanted to kick himself - this damn trinket that he was mentally unable to remove from his finger! His ‘war scar’ as he called it. It had caused more pain than any physical wound and was a constant reminder everyday of what he had lost. It should mean nothing by now and he should have returned it the woman who gave it to him long ago. She didn’t love him anymore and that was that. Time to move on with his own life - if only it were as easy as that. He gave Egypt a weak smile and scratched his head in a rather uncomfortable fashion.

He watched her play with her hair. She seemed to be nervous again – or maybe it was Nathan’s imagination. “Very true.” he agreed “Have you done much travelling… or is Blighty your first port of call?”

His green eyes locked onto hers at her next statement. He had heard of such places, but thought they were a thing of the past. He tried to keep his expression as emotionless as possible. He didn’t know what this woman’s views were after all. “Was that to keep you lot in, or them out?” That probably wasn’t appropriate. Nathan and his horrible, badly timed humour strikes again. “It.. it just seems a little like something from the dark ages.” he said on a more serious note. Although you couldn’t help your upbringing, Nathan was proof of this, and if that’s all you knew... well. “So you must be finding this odd.” He said gesturing out towards the park. Muggles, witches and wizards from all backgrounds mingling together.” not that the muggles knew these strangely dressed people were wizards but even so.
