A farm. Riiiight.

While she didn't particularly associate pets with farm responsibilities, the point was still there. Growing up with animals. "Yea but, you know... they're getting old. And they're already bound to one of us, so Hunter and Ryder don't really have one of their own." She didn't know how long the horses would live for, but cats couldn't live forever.

Hunter though, was going to give her a heart attack struggling like that. "Oh just put him down, Josh."

Apparently their pets getting old meant they had to get younger pets. Alright. Josh frowned a bit yet the soon-to-be-wife had a point. He also wanted his sons to love animals and learn to live with them in harmony. This way they could grow up to be amazing young men. ''Well...'' holding Hunter with just one arm, which made no difference for the little boy as he was still struggling and daddy was just too strong, he scratched his stubble idly as he reconsidered the idea.

''Alright. We can get a baby pet for them.'' Looking at Hunter, why did he feel like pitying the animal they were going to get for their sons? Kneeling down, Josh put Hunter down and released him from his grasp. Extremely happy to be free, the little boy lost no time to half crawl and half run at the kneazle. He fell down on the way then quickly collected himself and kept rushing to the animal.

The little boy literally jumped at the kneazle and grabbed its tail.

All that time, Josh's eyes were on Evelyn. ''You don't think i can hold my sons properly?''

Evelyn gave no smile with the agreement. Her light hazel eyes were watching Hunter like a hawk after he was put down, as well as the pets wandering around him. No, the pet they got was going to be an indoor pet. She was determined on it. Something clean and well mannered and apparently wouldn't mind their tail being grabbed.

"Hunter, don't..." Cut off from what she was going to say, she turned her gaze to Josh, silently staring for a split second. Until she quietly scoffed. "No. You hold them fine. I just didn't want a tantrum on our hands when we just got here." Shifting Ryder to her other hip, the young woman made her towards her adventurous son on the ground.

If that cat scratched him, so help her...

The kneazle apparently did not like its tail being grabbed and pulled since it turned around and hissed at the little boy. The smile on Hunter's face vanished when he heard the hiss. He surely had no idea what it was or what it meant yet he could feel that it was an unfriendly thing. He let the tail go and sat on the ground. After a bit wibbling, he started to cry...loudly.

BAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Why could not the kneazle like him back? He just wanted to play. Josh was pleased to hear it from Evelyn that he held his sons just fine yet apparently there was no way to avoid any tantrums. ''Shhh...Hunter.'' Josh approached his son after Evelyn and knelt down beside him. He checked the little boy's hands and arms. He looked alright. It did not look like the kneazle had scratched him. So what was wrong? He looked up at Evelyn with questioning eyes as Hunter kept crying.

There really was no avoiding the tantrums. Sighing, Evelyn moved to protectively stand next to her little boy while she glared at whoever the owners of the kneazle was. Honestly, they should be watching their pet. Or trained them already. Or did something so it didn't hiss at her poor unhappy child. On the other hand, Ryder looked absolutely startled as he leaned away from her, reaching down to either to Hunter or Josh's hair. Whatever the case, it made her too look down at the two boys.

Only to see Josh looking up at her.

....What?

With a click of her tongue, she knelt down and sat next to the two of them, setting Ryder down beside Hunter. The little boy reached out and touched his brother's face, only to reach down and touch the grass with his other hand. Touch touch touch. "Shhhh shh shh, you don't want that kitty anyways, Hunter." she spoke softly, taking a small, soft and squishy, quaffle looking toy out of the baby bag and placing it in his lap.

Hoping it would stop his crying, Josh stroked Hunter's hair and waved the kneazle away. Evelyn was right. They had to get a pet for their sons that they can play and grow up with. Preferably a pet that would not mind its body parts being grabbed by little boys. That could make them happy, right? The young man looked up at his fiance as she sat down and put Ryder down as well.

Hunter did not react much when Ryder touched his face and just looked at him with tearful eyes and when his brother seemed to be interested in something else, he kept crying. But then...he was totally distracted when he saw his mother with the ball. His big brown eyes, just like his father's, followed the ball to his lap and he fell silent. Then a big smile appeared on his face and the little boy let out a small voice of excitement. He took the ball immediately and squished it.

Josh laughed. ''Evelyn, you are amazing.'' An amazing mother and everything else. Then he reached to Ryder and gently and playfully pressed a finger to his nose. ''You are feeling like playing with your brother, dude?''

They had a bat. Their first purchase together as newlyweds... was a bat.

Jake wasn't entirely sure how to feel about this fact. But Anya was ridiculously excited about it, so he was willing to give the little girl a try.

He sat down on a grassy area not too close to anyone else, keeping his eyes on Anya and Nyx the Bat. Would she fly away? Bats could fly. Was it even safe to play with her out here?

Anya grinned as she took her new little bat to the play area. THEYHADABAT! agrkljaehrgjklaegh! ACUTEBAT!

Did Jake see?

Because this meant they had their own little family now. Together. A Jake Keller, an Anya Keller, and now a Nyx Keller.

She went through their provided bag of supplies. "You hungry little Nyx?" she asked holding the bat up near her face. She then glanced at Jake. "Do you think it gives them headaches to be upside down all the time?" she asked him. Because that would give her a headache just hanging off someone's finger like that.

Jake smiled to himself, watching anya with the bat. She was cute. And so was the bat. Yeah, the creature might have already started growing on him. He was a sucker for cute things. It was a problem.

"Probably not," he replied. "They do it for a living." ... Wait. "I mean, they sleep like that, don't they? It's how they do things." Also... he just remembered they were nocturnal, which explained why Nyx was just hanging out on Anya's finger. "She's not going to do much, is she?"

Anya giggled a little. Nyx was cute. She didn't even need to want one, because she HAD one! She had a pet bat! Squee!

"True." she said with a smile. She shook her head at his next question. "Probably not. It's bright out and she's probably in shock. But she'll wake up and love us and be a good bat later."

Probably.

"Oh." Jake nodded. He'd take her word for it. Although he wasn't sure what counted as Good Bat versus Bad Bat. As long as it didn't fly around constantly and/or sleep in his hair, he was pretty sure he would be okay with it.

"So do we have everything we need for her?" he asked, trying to get a look in the bag Anya was holding. "What do bats even eat?" Important questions. He might have to feed her some day.

Anya smiled at the bat for a second. Could Jake tell how happy this made her?

"Um. Fruit. Nectar. Small insects." he said with a shrug. Anya handed the bag over to him with her free hand. "But the pet shop makes pellet bites, so we can just feed her those. We'll just need to keep in stock of them."

She then offered her bat!hand to him. "You wanna hold her? It should help her be more comfortable later, since she'll know your smell." he could even stick her in his shirt pocket. That would be cute.

Ew. Small insects. Why did so many things eat bugs? Jake looked through the bag Anya handed to him. So they were set for at least a while, then.

"Hm?" He looked at her and smiled a little. "Yeah, sure." He held out a hand. Because it would be bad if Nyx didn't like him. Or... maybe not bad, but he would be disappointed.

He smiled at the creature once she was on his hand. Okay. She was really very cute. "I like her."

Anya just smiled happily at Jake. When she pictured her life, she certainly didn't imagine it with a pet bat, but now that they had one... it was kind of ridiculous to imagine her life without little Nyx. Even though they just got her.

AND JAKE LIKED HER!

"That's fantastic. I can't wait to take her home. Maybe she'll be friends with Jeffrey. That would be fun." Right? It would make for brilliant pictures. Of course, Jeffrey always had the best pictures. He was cute like that.

"Shall we head home?"

Satisfied with Hunter's happiness for the time being, Evelyn zipped up the baby bag before wrapping her arms around her knees, smirking slightly in her fiance's direction. "Yes, I know." No point in hiding it. Or being modest for that matter. Chuckling softly, she laid her head upon her knees, watching her boys.

Ryder, who made a face when his father poked his nose, didn't even take the moment to look up towards the big man. The grass was far more interesting. His fingers had a mind of their own, touching it and trying to grab it. He did finally look up to his father though, with matching big brown eyes full of curiosity and interest...

And tried to stick some grass in his small, slobbery mouth.

Hunter seemed to be really happy with squishing the ball so he kept himself busy with the activity not being interested in anyone else around him. There was just the ball. The squishy ball. The young boy laughed out loudly as he played with it.

Josh raised his eyebrows at Ryder just when he seemed to ignore him and instead having a go at the grass on the ground. Oh well...at least he seemed to be interesting in something too, just like Hunter did now, and that meant that it was not likely there would be another tantrum. Since the boys were busy, Josh turned to Evelyn and smiled at her. He had things in his mind that he never found any time to ask. They both were usually really busy and boys took most of their time at home. ''Evelyn...'' he began. They seemed to be left to each other here anyway, just the boys. ''...when do you think...'' but then he could not complete his sentence when he saw Ryder about to eat grass.

''Hey, stop.'' he grabbed the little boy's small arm to keep him from eating the grass. ''It is not something you can eat.'' opening the boy's palm with his fingers, he brushed the grass of Ryder's hand. ''Well...what was i saying? Umm...'' for a moment he looked at Hunter who was poking Ryder's leg with the soft ball. ''When do you think our wedding should take place?''

Kace decided to take Dusty and go to the pet play area. He knew this little guy wanted to play. He decided to take him somewhere small and compact so he wouldn't escape or possibly be eaten. Kace smiled at him and Dusty smiled right back up.

Kace placed him on the ground and chuckled when he saw him running in a zig zag formation. "Awww Dusty.." he said trailing off trying to catch up to him. "Wait up dude!" he called after him.

Still patting her purring kneazle Filomena, Leah walked down to the New Pet Play Area. A kneazle to bring to school! This is way too wonderful.

Just then, Filomena jumped down from Leah's arms and ran to somewhere. Thinking that this might not be good (considering that she was being very shy for the past ten minutes), the girl followed her kneazle close by. As she turned round a corner, she bumped into a boy. "Ouch!" Groaning, Leah looked ahead and found Filomena attacking a pygmy puff. "Filomena, STOP!" She shouted, and picked up the kneazle with difficulty.

"I'm so sorry, is that your pet?" Leah asked the boy. She was sorry that she bumped into the boy and that her kneazle nearly ate his pet. "I'm Leah, by the way." She said. She tried to hold out her hand but failed as Filomena squirmed in her arms.

Kace was still running after his Pygmy Puff and then he realized he didn't look up in time to see where he was going and said, "OMMMFFFHHHH...." and realized he collided with another student. He rubbed the top of his head where he collided.

He realized she had a kneazle and they did eat pygmy puffs and he held Dusty and put him in his pocket where it shook out of fright. "Oh no it is fine and yeah that was Dusty." he said gesturing to his pocket. Oh and her name was Leah? Kace nodded. "I am Kace." he smiled and saw the kneazle squirm out of her hands and he chuckled. "So i guess kneazles are had to keep track of huh?" he asked her.

"I don't know, I didn't know Filomena was this naughty until a minute ago. Um, are you in Hogwarts?" Leah continued, trying to keep the conversation friendly and know more about Kace, while walking down to the snacks corner.

Oh the kneazle name is Filomena. Kace smiled and waved and said cutely to the creature, "Hellooo Filomena!" He tried to keep Dusty safe in his pocket where he was still trembling.

"Aww it is fine, i didn't know Kneazles ate Pygmy Puffs but now i know to be more cautious." he said forgiving the little girl. She asked if he was in Hogwarts and he smiled and nodded. "Yup i am! I am in Hufflepuff House."

Leah had heard of the four houses before. According to what her father says, all four houses have different personalities.

"Hufflepuff is the just and loyal house, isn't it?" She asked, picking up a kneazle food from the table in the snacks corner and pouring some onto her hand. Filomena jumped down and started licking her hand, desperate for food. "I was hoping I get sorted into Hufflepuff, my family members were in Hufflepuff House for generations. Although other houses won't be bad, right?"

Kace smiled and chuckled. "Yup and also we are unafraid of toil too." he said rhyming with the words from the sorting hat song. Kace laughed at her kneazle eating and he wondered if Dusty was hungry. He got some snacks and placed it in his pocket where Dusty ate some of the food. Awww poor little guy.

"Yeah i guess so.." he said giving it some thought. "I mean i wouldn't have minded Gryffindor because my mom was in that house and also my dad was a muggle so i do not follow in his footsteps." he shrugged not minding talking about him. " But I am glad i got Hufflepuff because my older sister was in this house and she was also Prefect so i got big shoes to fill."

Leah watched Dusty eating inside his owner's pocket and immediately felt pity for it. She wondered if she should lock Filomena back inside the carrier but came back to reality when Kace spoke again. She looked up at him, her eyes wide. "Your sister was a Hufflepuff prefect? Yeah, I can imagine what it is like. People all expecting you to be good and all that, huh? I'll hate it if it was me." She had no siblings, and sometimes it was a benefit, sometimes it wasn't.

"Do you play Quidditch? You look like the... uh.. sports type." Leah asked. She talked about Quidditch quite often nowadays, but no one can deny that it is an interesting sport.
