Default Bed 3

You have been escorted from the waiting area by Healer Miller to one of the beds. This particular one is made of a soft shade of wood and has a matching night stand right beside it for your things should you find yourself having to spend some time here. The bedding if soft and warm in various shades of different colors depending on the room (feel free to decide which color on your own). If you happen to not like the look of the area Healer Miller might just change it for you if you ask her nicely. There is also an overstuffed arm chair close by should you have a visitor stop by. The curtains are usually left open unless the area is occupied in which the curtains are drawn closed.

OOC: Please do not post here unless you have been directed here by Healer Miller!

Oh, no no, this was no good. He wouldn't get himself well in this state. "Come along, my dear, lets get you into a bed," Joy whispered softly gently ushering Jasper into the nearest available bed so that he can get some rest. Hazel eyes quickly scanned over the notebook page before she followed. Best to have an idea what she might be dealing with here. "Go on and lay down."

Jasper allowed himself to be ushered along by the friendly nurse, though he realised that he'd completely forgotten what her name was.

Achoooooooo!

What was he thinking about again? He didn't have a clue, instead he focussed on straightening himself up again as best as he could. Did that sneeze just give him a headache? And was there an immediate fix potion? Jasper was hoping there was, otherwise what was the point of being a wizard?

The Ravenclaw also didn't put up a fight, instead just laying down on the bed that she had pointed out for him.

"Thank you, Miss," the Australian had said sleepily, trying to be as polite as possible despite the state he was in.

Oh my! The poor dear!

"You can just call me Joy, dear," she told him knowing full well that when you're ill it was hard to remember much.

Joy picked up the box of tissues from the small night stand beside the bed and set it down at the boys side. "There you are, don't you worry about a thing I'll have you fixed up in no time." She assured him softly.

Drawing her wand from inside her robes she waved it at the curtains wordlessly drawing them closed around the boys bed. "If you could just put this under your tongue we'll check your temperature quickly." Just to see if she needed to give him a potion to rid him of the fever as well as a potion to clear up what could be a nasty head cold or the flu. While she waited on finding out his temperature which would only take the briefest of moments she used her wand to clean the cup that was on the bedside stand and fill it with some cool water. He was going to want that after he drank the potions.

Joy?

Okay, that should be easy enough to remember. Even in his current state, 'Joy', he repeated mentally a few times, hoping that it would be enough to stay in his mind at least until the next sneeze. Those were terrible.

Looking at the box of tissues, he eyed it for a moment. "Thanks... Joy," see? He could remember things! He wasn't completely hopeless! Slowly he took a tissue, blowing his nose, before folding it up and shoving it in his pyjama pants. He'd throw it out later at some point.

Accepting the thermometer he put it under his tongue without hesitation. Now to wait and see how high the temperature was...

The red headed healer watched Jasper settle himself down on the bed. "You're welcome dear," she replied softly. Having everyone call her Joy was always much more easier then Healer Miller. First names tended to put people more at ease.

It only took a few seconds before there was a beeping sound. Joy removed the thermometer from his mouth checking it. "You do have a fever yes but nothing that can't be handle within moments." She used her wand to clean the thermometer and put it away for a moment. "I'll be right back." With that she slipped and back to her office where she collected a few potions returning with them moments later.

"Alright, here we are. If you'll first take this one it will quickly lower your fever," the healer told him passing him one of the potions. In her hand was another potion for after he drank that one. "Now mind you these might not taste very good which is what that cup of water on the night stand is for." Best to warn him beforehand.

His head felt like it was going to explode into pieces, and his arm felt like it was going to fall off any minute. Jace winced as questions were asked, and the first thing he did was to tap his injured arm a few times. At the moment, his limbs are more important than his head.

Jace opened his eyes and the first person he saw was the healer. His vision doubled at first...and when he saw Owen, his sight became clear. What had happened? Jace wasn’t too sure. He was on the stairs, on the way to the library. The next thing he knew, Owen’s face was upon him and he blacked out. The Ravenclaw wanted to speak, but the pain was just too much. Absent-mindedly, he held on to the vial that was given to him, and chugged it immediately without second thoughts. He sputtered and coughed as he did so, but was thankful about its quick effect. The pain was still there, but this time it was more bearable.

The Ravenclaw breathed in and out to manage the throbbing pain he felt in his head, and slowly sat up with the help of his good arm. He leaned on the wall to catch his breath, and was a bit alarmed with what he saw. Three professors had come to his aide, and one of them had a bad cut on his lip. Jace quietly glance around, and was ever grateful not to see Professor Hirsch among them. He’d lost dignity in front of the man early on, and he didn’t want a repeat of that so soon.

However, Jace realized that the school’s professors move as one unit. Of course they’d tell his Head of House about this. There was no way he wouldn’t know. Not wanting to waste any more time, the Ravenclaw hung his head slowly, as he used the wall to help him get up. Jace slowly but surely limped his way towards the Hospital Wing. If Hirsch is to receive this news, at least he would look more respectable on a hospital bed.

Jace proved to be a trooper as he clutched his injured arm close to his chest, and used his good arm to keep his balance as he slowly limped towards the Hospital Wing. He’d been slow, but very silent as he made his way towards the Hospital Wing. He wasn’t even sure on how he managed to reach the place, but there he was, his knees ready to give out.

The Ravenclaw sighed as he saw the empty hospital bed, and was half-amused at the fact that he actually ended up in one during his first three years in Hogwarts. Who would’ve thought, yes? The ever careful child somehow ended up as a victim of a prank. Jace heaved an exasperated sigh as he allowed his knees to give out, and landed on the bed with his good arm and assumed the fetal position. The thirteen year old willed himself to get a grip of his thoughts and banished the first seeds of self-pity. He knew it wouldn’t do him any good.

Jace was sure that within the day, his father will be notified of this accident and the boy groaned at the thought of his mother. She’d probably make his father’s waking hours a miserable one starting tomorrow. The thirteen year old reached up to touch his head and winced when he felt the bandage. It must have been a really bad fall given the size of the bump on his head.

Merlin, now what?

And speaking of which, did that floating nightmare still have Raphael's wand? He thought he did, but then he realized Peeves would've had to have tossed it aside to be able to yank his tie hard enough to drag him down the stairs. "A-accio wand," he said, pointing his own wand in the direction he last saw Raphael's; it flew into his open hand and he gave it back to its owner.

Seeing Joy transfigure the slide back into stairs reminded him that he still hadn't yet removed the wax! And now there was no one guarding the top of the stairs to keep anyone else from falling. Merlin's beard! How could he have forgotten something so important?! Granted, he had been distracted by Peeves terrorizing the students and trying to kill him, but that was still no excuse. His heart skipped a beat as he realized someone could've died because of his inaction! Without another moment's hesitation, he aimed his wand at the staricase, and the wax vanished.

The Charms professor's eyes darted frantically in search of the poltergeists, but he didn't see them. Still, he wasn't taking any chances and unknotted his tie, just in case they came back and got any ideas. It was only when he was sure that there was no further imminent threat to the students that it registered that both Joy and Mr. Montezor had asked him if he was alright. "Yes..." he said, though the pain in his eyes and in his voice belied him. "take care of them first..." His eyes fix toward the two young boys. He wouldn't even think of accepting Joy's help until he knew his students would be okay!

Gaston nodded in agreement as Joy dismissed Miss Franks-Mundie and Mr. Bellaire, removing the stickfast hex he'd placed on them with a quick flick of his wand, but no matter how injured he was, he wasn't going anywhere! He offered Mr. Montezor a small encouraging smile and moved to stand beside him, should the need for emotional support arise, but a sudden sharp pain caused him to clutch at his side. He staggered back and had to grab hold of the railing just to keep himself upright. He didn't know what happened, but if he had to guess, he would say he probably broke a rib (or several) when he slammed into the wall. Still, better him than a student!

All Gaston could do was watch helplessly as Joy tended to Mr. Reed. He shrugged when she asked if he knew what the boy was saying; he hadn't the faintest idea! French he could translate, but not Japanese. Whatever the language was, it was evident through the young Ravenclaw's voice just how much pain he was in, and it broke his heart! The poor kid was waking up now; it looked like the worst was finally over! "Glad you're awake, Mr. Reed," he said, giving the boy a small smile, though he still watched him with sad eyes as he accompanied him and the healer up the stairs to the hospital wing.

Gaston felt like he shouldn't be here! However severe his injuries might be, Mr. Reed needed the healer's attention much more. The thought crossed his mind to leave and come back later, but somehow he had a feeling Joy would never let him hear the end of it if he did. With a slight wince, he took a seat in a nearby chair, watching the young Ravenclaw lying in the bed in front of him.

Now that the initial shock and anger wore off, all the professor felt was sadness... and guilt. If only he hadn't taken so long in his office, he would've been there minutes earlier, in time to stop those poltergeists from waxing the stairs, in time to save this poor kid from his injuries. He was supposed to protect the students, but instead he let this happen! "Mr. Reed - Jace-" Normally he didn't make a habit of calling his students by their first names, but this was not the time to stand on formality. "I am so sorry this happened to you! I should've been there sooner... I should've stopped this..."

His voice broke, though he wasn't sure whether it was caused by physical or emotional pain. For Merlin's sake, get ahold of yourself! he silently berated himself. The last thing he needs is an overly emotional fool like you upsetting him! He sighed, fidgeting with the bracelets on his arm in a vain attempt to distract himself from his sad thoughts. Hopefully Joy would be done with him soon and he could be alone...

When he heard the Charm’s professor’s footsteps, Jace forced himself to sit right up with pillows behind him, and his knees drawn up to his chest with his injured arm. The Ravenclaw sat quietly and kept his head down, obviously ashamed of the trouble he had caused the professor. He couldn’t remember a thing after he fell, but he was sure that Professor Marchand got involved right after he lost consciousness. Was it his fault? Yes. If only he’d been aware of the books’ loan period, he would’ve returned them at an earlier date. He panicked, he rushed, and he got into an accident. His fault.

Jace blinked and slowly lifted his head when Professor Marchand called out his name. The thirteen year old was almost too scared to look at the man, fearing that he will get reprimanded for the trouble he had caused. However, that was not the case. Jace began to loosen up, and his jaw slowly unhinged itself. What...what...what is going on? Why...why was he blaming himself? And...was that even normal for a professor? Jace found himself speechless and just stared at Professor Marchand openly. That...was not expected at all. “S-sensei!” The half-Japanese’s eyes grew big as saucers, alarmed at what he was saying. “N-no! No it wasn’t your fault. You didn’t know it was going to happen in the first place!” At that point, Jace has lost control of his emotions, letting panic override his thoughts. “Please professor, don’t blame yourself. If there’s someone to blame...it’s...it’s me.” Jace felt faint as he said those words, and he closed his eyes to catch his breath. A busted forehead, broken arm, and a racing heart; not a good combination at all.

“We’re safe now, professor. I’m sure this is nothing serious. Healer Joy can fix us up.” He said as he looked around, assuming that Healer Joy had busied herself with collecting all the potions that she needed for the two of them. “My sincerest apologies, Professor Marchand. And thank you for helping me and Owen out there.” He said bowing his head towards his teacher.

The red headed Healer couldn't be more proud of young Jace's strength and determination to get himself to the hospital wing. The boy did not complain once, he was a trooper alright. At noticing the limping she might have certainly cast another simply healing charm on him to ensure a bit more comfortable walk.

Once inside the hospital wing Joy showed Jace to a bed allowing him a few moments to get settled in. While he was doing this she did take a few moments to return to her storage room and gather what she would need to help heal him more effectively. This only took a few minutes, long enough that he should be settled in by the time she got to the bed.

"Ah, Professor Marchand, so glad you decided to join us," Joy smiled warmly at him. It was much easier then having to hunt the man down to heal his injuries after taking care of the younger Ravenclaw. Hearing what was being said between the professor and student a small frown crossed her face. "Oh my, no no, you are both not to blame here. This is all on those pesky poltergeist. You two best believe I will be speaking with the Headmaster when I'm through here." Three injuries from those pests in a matter of minutes. Something needed to be done!

"Mr. Reed, here's another potion for you. This one will help relieve any discomfort you're feeling and allow you to relax, get some sleep even if you like." She passed the boy the vial and then got a cup of water to wash it down with for him. Once the potion was taken she could effectively continue healing his injuries so that he could simply rest. Then she would move on to checking over Gaston.

Gaston could barely bring himself to look at the young Ravenclaw. He half-expected the boy to be angry at him for letting this happen - and he wouldn't have blamed him one bit if he was - but instead there was only panic in his eyes and in his voice. Had he caused that? Now he felt even guiltier than ever!

He could barely believe his ears as this brave boy who hardly batted an eye at his own injury practically begged him not to blame himself for what had happened. Well, this was ironic... a student trying to comfort a professor. It was supposed to be the other way around! Gaston tried to assume a calm facade for Jace's sake, but the Ravenclaw's words touched his heart and threatened his already tenuous hold on his emotions.

Neither did you... he thought when the boy said he didn't know this would happen, but his injuries and and emotions made it impossible for him to speak. All he could do was stare at the floor for several moments, hoping no one would notice the tears he was blinking back. With a heavy sigh followed by a wince, Gaston finally forced himself to look up at the young Ravenclaw. "I-I was only doing my job. there's n-no need to thank me... and certainly no need to apologize!" he said. "N-now... please relax. Don't mind me..."

He managed a weak smile when Joy arrived and told him almost exactly the same thing he'd told Mr. Montezor earlier. it seemed he had a hard time taking his own advice! "Maybe I should come back later..." he said, blushing in embarrassment at his moment of weakness. All he was doing here was putting everyone on edge and making everything worse!

Unbelievable. That was what this news was. Unbelievable.

News travelled fast at Hogwarts and so, naturally, it wasn't long before it reached the ears of one Defence Professor. The man had been marking away and ignoring the letter from his mother when word arrived about the status of one of his students, making him drop everything to get here.

Robes billowing out behind him, Hirsch strode quickly into the Hospital Wing, only really pausing to look around. Spotting the young Ravenclaw and the company around his bed, the man strode on over towards them. While he would've displayed a general aura of cool, there was a sense of urgency in his step as well as a frown on his face.

What was that word again? Unbelievable.

"My apologies for intruding, Healer Joy." Though there was hardly anything apologetic about his features right now. "Hello, Jace, how are you feeling?"

And Gaston got somewhat of a smile. Nice of him to be here.

Poltergeists? Peeves and Miffy?

Jace wasn’t even surprised when Healer Joy had mentioned the two. One didn’t have to be as brilliant as Albus Dumbledore to know why all of this happened. Apparently the protest is still ongoing, isn’t it? Although the Ravenclaw understood why they were causing havoc, he thought that purposefully imposing accidents on professors and students alike is too much.

Still somehow, Jace felt ashamed of what happened. On his part, if he was not so careless about the overdue books, this wouldn’t happen to him…to Owen…and to Professor Marchand. And just when he thought he accepted the fact that news will reach his Head of House, the Headmaster was also dragged in the conversation. Just…what exactly will his father tell him this time?

Deciding not to respond, Jace obediently took the potion from the Healer and drank it in one go, making a face as he gulped the solution. Switching the vial for the glass of water, the Ravenclaw took just a sip not wanting to dilute the potion he just drank. The thirteen year old slowly looked at the disappointed professor, forcing himself to think of a way to make him feel okay. He’d never encountered an adult like him before! “Professor…sensei…I think I’d feel better if you stay? Healer Joy has to check you too.” And he would love to have his company.

Jace went back to his own thoughts as he procured his clay golem from his pocket. It got smashed really badly from his fall, and the Ravenclaw just stared at it for a moment. Well, it looks like he won’t be visiting the Defense professor soon. A sigh escaped from the boy as he felt the soothing effect of the potion he just drank. However, upon hearing the hurried thudding of shoes against the floor, Jace drew in a breath as he saw who it was. His toes curled under his feet, his shoulder tense…and his face pretty much paled at the sight of his Head of House. His chocolate brown eyes darted from Healer Joy, to Professor Marchand, then to his broken arm. “I-I’m okay now, professor. My arm just needs fixing.” He said, keeping his head down, obviously embarrassed. And...was he going to get a good scolding too? Jace had seen the frown professor.

Gaston was sure there was no reason for him to be here. Whatever his injuries, they weren't severe enough to justify him staying here and setting everyone else on edge! His office was just down the hall; he could just wait there and come back in an hour or two, once Jace had been taken care of.

The Frenchman was suddenly jerked out of his thoughts as one of his colleagues appeared in the room. Oh Merlin, someone else to see him in his fragile emotional state! Just perfect... "Roderik," he greeted the Ravenclaw Head with a polite nod. "Don't mind me... just leaving."

He rose from his chair, but a sharp pain suddenly caused him to groan and clutch at his side. The pain in his heart had momentarily distracted him from the pain of his injuries, but now it was back and worse than ever! He was almost out the door when Jace's voice stopped him in his tracks.

Gaston wheeled around and blinked dumbly at the Ravenclaw. What? He actually wanted him to stay? He couldn't imagine why the boy would want his company when all he was doing was making everyone just as nervous as he was! Still, he couldn't being himself to refuse. "Alright," he said with a weak smile. "If that's really what you want..."

With a slight wince, the professor re positioned himself in the chair, watching as the young Ravenclaw pulled a badly broken object from his pocket. He wasn't sure what exactly that thing was, but maybe he could fix it for him. At least then he'd (sort of) be making himself useful. "Would you like me to fix that for you?" he offered, inclining his head toward the smashed object as he drew his wand. Thankfully it hadn't suffered the same fate as... whatever that thing was when Peeves attacked. After all it was the least he could do for the boy!

Default Jace, Gaston & Roderik!

With the potion finally taken by the young Ravenclaw Joy was able to move on with the healing of his arm. She was just about to do so when someone thought they were going to slip away without receiving the proper care from her when they were injured.

That was NOT going to happen.

"The boy is right Gaston. I believe we both would feel a lot better should you remain seated and allow me to check on you once I'm through here," she replied softly giving both her colleague and Jace a smile. "It will take just a few moments to heal his arm and then I can heal any injuries you acquired from your fall." Then if he wanted to be on his way he would be more then welcome to do so.

Joy once more went to take hold of Jace's injured arm in her hand. Hazel eyes shifting another smile gracing her lips at the sight of another one of her colleagues joining them. "That's quite alright Roderik," she replied softly. Seeing a Head of House visiting one of his own in the hospital so quickly she wasn't at all about to turn the man away. While the three of them spoke the red head went about casting the proper healing charms upon the boys arm. "There you are Jace. It might feel just a bit stiff for a few moments but you shouldn't have any trouble at all now." Healing charms and potions were a lovely thing.

Turning towards Gaston she eyed him for several quiet seconds. "Are you hurt anywhere else other then the busted lip that I can see, you took quite the tumble." He hadn't broken a rib or anything, had he?

It was a good thing Joy had said that she didn't mind his intrusion because the man had no intentions of leaving. If she had said the opposite, well, then there would've been a problem.

Instead, he gave her a small smile and said, "Thank you."

And why was Gaston talking about leaving?! Sure, he knew nothing about Healing but that groan didn't sound like it came from someone who was physically fit. "Are you okay, Gaston? And what happened with the fiasco by the stairs?" Because as useful as the information had been, rumours spread like wildfire and he doubted whether a lot of it was factual.

And he did want to know who to pin the blame on.

And yes, Gaston, you should stay.

He might not have seen the curled toes or the tensing of the shoulders but it was hard not to miss the paling of the boy's complexion. He was going to pin this down to the injury but he couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy by it. Why? He had no idea. "Well, it's good to hear that you're doing okay," he said, his lips twitching up slightly into a bit of a smile, "How does the arm feel?"

Hirsch watched with a concerned look on his face as the Healer went about tending to Jace. He had no idea what it was that she was doing but watched intently nonetheless. It wasn't until she was done that he spoke up and directly to her. "Is there anything else that he needs? Extra rest?"

With three exceptionally warm adults around him, Jace could not help but feel a bit suffocated. The young Ravenclaw was used to tending to his own injuries, and would get help discreetly if he needed one badly. This time around, it was very different. It was like his family’s eyes were on him. It did feel good, yes, but the boy could not shake off the embarrassment. The tension however, died down a bit when Jace saw Professor Marchand went back to sit down on the overstuffed armchair. He didn’t look good at all, and his groan sounded way too familiar to the boy. It was the sound of a man suffering an injury. Albeit the professor being in pain, Jace nodded to him and muttered his thanks for staying beside him. Besides, he didn’t want to be left alone with Professor Hirsch...yet. “Arigatou, sensei.” He said bowing his head once to the Charms Professor.

The Ravenclaw drew in another breath, as Professor Marchand took notice of the clay in his hand. Hiding it from Professor Hirsch’s view would be useless, given that Professor Marchand’s attention was on it already. Jace could feel his heartbeat quicken, sparing his Head of House a very quick glance. “Uhm...yes...please. I would appreciate it very much.” Jace then placed his smashed clay golem on the night stand beside his bed.

His attention then shifted when Healer Joy took his injured arm, and began to fix it. He couldn’t feel anything at first, until there was a tingling sensation. He kept his brown eyes on his arm as he watched it straighten up again without feeling any pain. That was it? Healed already? Jace’s face was graced with a tired grin as he looked at Healer Joy. “Arigatou gozaimasu, sensei.” He said inclining his head toward her. Jace began to open and close his hand, while his right hand carefully massaged his mended limb.

The Ravenclaw finally tuned all of his attention to his Head of House, but he couldn’t properly look back at his Defence Professor. Jace saw the smile, but he couldn’t help but feel that the man was just being civil in front of the other two adults in the room. Surely, he will get a word or two from him the moment he steps out of the Hospital Wing. “It...it feels a bit numb professor...” Jace pretty much mumbled to himself, too afraid to show his face to the professor. Why? If news already reached his Head of House, he was sure that the news has reached the Headmaster as well. All this time, the Ravenclaw was very careful not to get involved in such situations. Mustering all the pride that he got, Jace assumed the kneeling position on the bed, both hands on his lap and his head inclined to his Head of House. “I’m sorry I worried you, Professor Hirsch.” The Ravenclaw could feel his disappointment form inside him. He knew he’s no longer a child, and because of his carelessness, he was able to bother such a busy man. Jace stayed in that uncomfortable position, and listened as the adults discussed amongst themselves.

Gaston smiled warmly at the young Ravenclaw, bowing his head in return. He didn't understand a word he said, but based on the look on the boy's face, he could guess that it meant thank you. He glanced at the smashed object on the nightstand. Fixing it seemed the least he could do for Jace. After all, charms were his job... well, that and protecting his students, which so far he'd failed miserably at!

He pointed his wand at... whatever that thing was. It was a good thing his wand arm wasn't on the same side of his body that had collided with the wall! "Re-reparo." The object reassembled itself and now looked like a sall clay creature. Whatever it was, at least it was fixed now.

Gaston's head whipped aroound at the sound of Roderik's voice, spilling his dark hair into his eyes."The poltergeists happened! What else?!" he exclaimed, momentarily forgetting about his injury... until the pain caused by speaking reminded him. "They waxed the staircase... turned it into a slide..." He had to pause for a few moments to catch his breath. Every word was causing him more pain, but he forced himself to go on. "I tried to guard the stairs, stop anyone else from falling..." He cast a guilty look back at Jace. "But Peeves grabbed me and dragged me down the stairs... I tried to fight him off but wasn't strong enough..." He winced slightly, clutching at his right side as his voice trailed off. Merlin's beard, he was useless! It was a miracle no one else had fallen after Peeves overpowered him!

He watched closely as Joy cast the spell to heal Jace's arm, and for the first time since he arrived, it didn't feel like his heart was going a million miles an hour. The boy seemed a bit more relaxed now, which meant he could relax... as much as his injuries would allow. Pained blue eyes met the healer's as she addressed him; he nodded. "I think I must've broken something when I slammed into the wall," he whispered. Or several somethings, if the pain in his side was any indication...

"And there's this..." Gaston glanced back at Jace, his eyes silently begging him to look away. He didn't want to frighten the poor kid with his injury! He undid the top button of his shirt to reveal the ring, once red but now quickly turning bluish-purple, around his neck where Peeves had grabbed him by his tie. His eyes darted nervously around the room. He felt awkward talking about this in front of Jace and Roderik! He didn't want to worry them!

Default You three!

Joy did hear Roderik's question and she didn't mean to ignore him. That was something she would never do but she did leave his question unanswered for just a moment as she checked over her patient once more. Once she was fully sure that all her healing spells as well as the pain potion she had given the boy was working as should her hazel eyes turned towards his Head of House. "Extra rest is most certainly something he will be getting. At least for the next couple of hours so that I can ensure he's perfectly healed up." Mainly because of that head injury he sustained. She wasn't doubting her ability as a Healer one bit but being in this profession for so long she knew better then to rush ones healing.

Turning back to Jace she gave him a warm smile. "The numbness you're feeling is perfectly normal. It will fade away shortly and all feeling will return as it should." Nothing at all to worry about. The break in his arm had been clean and very easy for her to mend. Thankfully.

With Roderik speaking to Jace now was the perfect time for Joy to turn her full attention onto Gaston, her other injured patient. The way he was talking and from the look on his face the man was clearly in pain, yet he hadn't uttered a word about it wanting to see to it that Jace was cared for first. Such a great man he was, worrying about his students the way he had. It was time to get his injuries cared for now. The red head listened closely taking note of how he whispered so as not to draw the attention of the others in the room onto himself as well as the hint of pain in his voice. "Is it painful to breath then? When you move a certain way?" she was sure it was from his behavour and movements. Possibly broken ribs it seemed.

Oh my! That was quite a nasty bruise she noted shifting her gaze onto his throat. That had to be painful as well. "No worries Gaston, I can have you fixed up quickly." With that Joy wordlessly summoned a vial of pain potion as well as a container of bruise cream. "This will help with the pain and discomfort." She handed him the same potion she had given Jace minutes earlier. "The paste can then just be rubbed onto the brusing and that will take care of that." Which he could do himself if he liked seeing as it wasn't difficult to do.

If anyone had told him that he would witness Gaston losing some sense of control, he would've laughed. Not that he knew the man well but this was a new face he was seeing from the Charms professor. However, the news caused the man to open his mouth in shock........

.......... only to close it again.

An underage wizard was present, Roderik.

He cleared his throat slightly before continuing, "The poltergeists have turned to waxing stairs and dragging people around? Endangering people's lives?!" He shook his head and resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "Unbelievable. I wonder if the Headmaster knows about this yet." Pause. "I'm sure you did enough, Gaston. Don't worry." Though, what was worrying was seeing the amount of wincing the man was currently doing.

And so, he turned towards Joy, whom he was waiting for an answer from. As he did so, he couldn't help but notice something out of the corner of his eyes. Constant vigilance, after all. But this situation was entirely different. Eyebrows furrowed, he took in the broken shape of a clay figure and, a moment or so later, his brain put two and two together. "Looks like the samurai recovered from the fall."

Was that an answer from the Healer? Yes, yes it was. Once again, he turned his attention towards Joy as she spoke to him. "Excellent. Whatever you see best, Healer," he said, pushing his glasses further up his nose, "I'll try to be in and out during that time. Or I'll try and get another student to escort him." Because walking up to the seventh floor with a professor might just be embarrassing. And anyways, he doubted whether Azura would say no to escorting the boy. "Thank you for your help."

A bit numb? "I'd assume that's to be expected." It took him back to his own childhood of combat but he doubted whether this was the right time to reminisce on the injuries and nosebleeds. "I'm sure it'll be perfectly fine soon enough. And you might've gotten worse from your training?" He had no idea about that so this was him ask-

.............. Uh.

What?

Hirsch blinked. Jace was kneeling? On his bed? When he was injured? Surely, he shouldn't. But before he could say anything, he found himself being taken aback by the apology and all of a sudden, a new sense of confusion was settling in. Sorry? For worrying him?! "Jace," he started, a little quieter than before, "You don't have to apologise for anything. As weird as it sounds, I want to be worried. You're one of my students, remember?" Meaning that he would be a pretty lame professor if he wasn't worried.

Japanese custom dictates that when his seniors are talking, he, as the youngest among the group must remain silent until someone urges for him to speak up. The Ravenclaw silently watched with his eyes as Professor Marchand repaired his clay moulding with a spell, and gave the man a slight bow of his head in thanks. Jace reached out for it, and examined it in his hands. Why…for the love of Merlin can’t he be as dignified as the miniature samurai?

Thoughts were broken as soon as the Charms professor answered his Head of House’s question. Alright, he knew it was Peeves and Miffy because the Healer said so earlier, although she did miss out on the actual thing they did. They…made the floor slippery so students will get…injuries? Is that what he’s saying??? Jace’s stomach made an awful turn, knowing full well that when news reaches his parents, they will be asking for that detail…and the exact reason why he was in a hospital bed being treated. The Ravenclaw let his bangs cover his eyes, his cheeks flushed anew. There’s a lot going on now with his parents, given that they are busy people, and the least he wanted right now was to worry them.

Jace’s shoulder slumped a bit as he listened to the adults talking. Extra rest? He was expecting that. A couple of hours meant he would be missing two lectures at least, and he did not like the idea at all. Hopefully Azura would take notes for him? Okay, maybe not, but she’d let him copy her notes, right? Subconsciously, Jace reached out for his mended arm when Healer Joy addressed him once more. “I understand, sensei.” He said in a murmur, nodding along. “Healer Joy? Is it…is it okay for me to practice Kendo after today? I…I have a grading coming up in a few months…and…and I need to keep my practice schedule…” It would also be great to release pent-up frustration, definitely. There’s nothing like hitting dummies as precisely as possible.

The moment Professor Hirsch started talking again, Jace’s shoulders concaved as he addressed the samurai in his hands. He wondered if that was addressed for him too? The Ravenclaw could not help but wince at his words as he convinced himself that there was no way Professor Hirsch would see him as noble and dignified as the samurai in his hands. “Failed. Again.” He purposefully murmured in Japanese.

And…what?! He will be coming in and out to check on him? Jace could already feel the heat radiating from his face. Why was Professor Hirsch so concerned? The 13 year old cannot figure that one out, given that he’d never been given such attention from his teachers back in Japan. How was he supposed to react to that? When training was mentioned, Jace suddenly looked at his Head of House, quite alarmed. No…no he can’t pass training anytime soon. He must get back on track, immediately.

When he realized that he’s been staring at Professor Hirsch, Jace shifted in his kneeling position and bowed down his head. When the man started talking, the Ravenclaw subconsciously balled both of his hands, which were resting on his lap. Jace just blinked, and questions came crashing. “W-why, sensei? Is it…necessary? You…definitely have more important things to do.” He’s a professor after all, and he could not imagine the work that goes behind his office in preparation for his next lesson.

If it weren't for her full attention being on caring for both Jace and Gaston this Healer would be much more upset with the entire situation. The more she heard about what had happened and all the mishaps around the castle due to those two poltergeists the more upset it made her. Angry or not about some wedding or whatever it was gave those two no right to go about causing such trouble and aiming to cause harm upon anyone!

The red heads focus wasn't on that though but the two grown men and one young Ravenclaw boy in her presence. Everything she did was entirely professional. "I do believe some extra rest would be in his best interest, yes." She nodded her head once in Roderik's direction her eyes fixed on the boy in question. Good thing he wasn't arguing and was okay with taking some time to rest up and heal fully. What was this about returning to training though?

For a long minute or so the healer said nothing going over the boys injuries in her head. "After today yes but I advise you to take it slow for a few days. Don't put to much pressure on your arm right away, work yourself back into that. If you feel dizzy or anything at all that isn't normal for you come back and see me, alright?" Did he understand what she was saying? She had no trouble with him getting back into his training just so he took his time with it and didn't overdo himself right away. "Is it at all possible to have a friend with you, maybe just have them watch even so you aren't alone for a day or so?" Just as an added procaution.

"Don't you worry about coming back and forth Roderick he'll be just fine. I can always bring him back to the common room if you like." Just to ease the mans worries really. Her spell work and potions were spot on and she knew the boy was just fine. There wasn't at all anything more to worry about.

Default Soo sorry for the late reply! RL's been crazy!
Rhibear ~ Madam Solo ~ Dark Brooding Girl ~ Accio Jedi ~ Gryffinclaw ~ Just a doll

Gaston nodded politely in reply as Roderik addressed him, managing a small sad smile. It was kind of him to say he'd done enough... kind, but wrong. If only he'd been there sooner, if only he'd been able to hold off Peeves... He mentally shook himself to stop the 'what ifs'. He'd already lost control of his emotions in front of a student once today; it could not happen again! Speaking of whom...

The Frenchman's eyes flicked back to the young Ravenclaw, who was now holding his newly repaired clay figure. He still had no idea what that thing's purpose was, but he was glad he'd been able to fix it. Again his head bowed in reply to the boy's gesture of gratitude, and he reholstered his wand with a slight wince.

Only when he was positive Jace and Roderik were distracted did Gaston's attention shift back to the healer. He was sure Roderik wouldn't flinch at the sight of his injury, but there was no telling how Jace might react to it and he didn't want to upset the poor kid... again. "Yes... both," he replied, his wounded blue eyes meeting hers. He obediently drank the potion Joy summoned for him, coughing slightly at the unexpected taste. Merlin's beard, that was terrible! Still, he didn't utter a word of complaint. He didn't have the heart to, not when Joy had been kind enough to help him.

He picked up the container of cream and dabbed some of it on the bruise around his neck. At least this was something he could do himself. Joy had enough on her plate without having to tend to him! "Sorry for the trouble I've caused," he apologized to the healer once the potion began to take effect. At least now he could speak without wincing!

Gaston had blinked in surprise when Jace apologized for worrying Roderik and couldn't help overhearing parts of their conversation. At the time his injuries (and emotions) had kept him silent and he let his colleague answer, but now that was not the case. He glanced sympathetically at the boy kneeling on the bed in front of him. He looked so defeated... Gaston wanted to hug the poor boy, but that would be crossing a line. After all, he was his professor, not his father. Still he knew he had to do something! "Professor Hirsch is right," he said, giving Jace an encouraging smile. "We wouldn't be doing our jobs if we weren't concerned. Our greatest responsibility is to the students, so right now your well-being is more important than any lesson plan or whatever else we could be doing."

He nodded in agreement when Joy told Roderik he didn't need to worry about coming back and forth. "I'm already here; I don't mind staying," he said, turning to the other professor present. He wasn't leaving Jace's side until he saw him returned safe and sound to Ravenclaw tower, and nobody, not even Peeves, was going to stop him! "I can give you an update once i'm done here."

Oh, dear. Having difficulty moving and breathing and he had waited to be treated! Joy didn't like the thought of having a patient wait when they were ill or injured but she most certainly understood why Gaston hadn't said anything. If it has been her she would have done the same, keeping quiet until the students were cared for first. She watched quietly as the potion was taken. Now his healing could begin and he would be feeling better shortly.

As a Healer the red-head knew that when able most patients young or older liked to do things for themselves. So with every chance she got she allowed them this chance. However she would remain there just to ensure the remedies worked as they should. "Trouble? You have caused no trouble at all. It is in noway yours or Jace's fault that you two were injured." No one ever had to apologize about coming to see her!

Having Gaston say that he would bring Jace back to his common once they were ready was good and she nodded her agreement. "That is a fine idea indeed. The two of you can rest up for a bit and I'll release you both together once I'm sure your injuries have healed up nicely." It wouldn't be to long and in the mean time they could get some rest.
