She said that in 2004? Oh come on! That should be water under the Charles Bridge by now. (I hope someone gets the reference, I'm feeling extra innuendo-y today...)
And I completely agree. Obviously the situation was bad enough for the Czech government to change the laws. For many people in these institutions their lives are bad enough already without these humiliating caged beds.

i'm pretty sure that everything written about those institutions in Eastern Europe are not entirely accurate, so the lawmaker may have a point.
however, i'm even more sure that JKR pointed out a rather horrifyingly true state of how that country/s treat their disadvantaged. the truth hurts. maybe instead of lashing out at what was said 4 years ago this lawmaker better implement some laws to make the lives of those in institutions much better eh? do something positive on this instead of dwelling on the negatives. | |
