With the first floor still the Weasley Swamp, Professor Glendower and Professor Cassie have decided to join forces and have a combined lesson. As you make your way towards the trapdoor you will find a very familiar sign that is usually found on the History of Magic door.
Quote:
Make an Entrance
Respectfully
Once you walk into the room you will see that Professor Cassie has set the room up a bit differently. There is no quiet music as you enter, but the smell of lavender is filling the room. Longer tables and chairs all in white and the usual after class snack will be happening before class on, bottles of sparkling water and strawberries this time around are waiting at each table. A small stage like area with a podium and two chairs sits in the front of the room. On the edge of the stage you will see the usual snapcup just waiting for you to place your proud moments in it.
You will also notice in the corner of the room an area with costumes and Divination supplies such as tea cups and tarot cards. You will also notice a few cats roaming the room, including two very familiar ones owned by Professor Cassie.
Professor Cassie is sitting in one of the two chairs up front sipping her tea waiting for her fabulous students.

So there was a plus for the joint lesson...no having to ford the larger than usual flooded swamp on the first floor where the History of Magic classroom was. Benny didn't much mind the trek up to the Divination classroom. However the notice to make an entrance seemed harder given the stairwell needed to get up the last few feet. Not that the Gryffindor normally put really any effort into the task. Shy dragon all the way.
Uh oh...he was running late.
"Good day Professors," he greeted politely before taking a seat just as Professor Morgan began the routine of reading out the snap cups. Oh well...one missed entry into the snap cup wasn't going to upset him. He knew his accomplishments. At least it didn't look like they had officially officially started the lesson so he was safe...right?
As for the complimenting of others around them, Benny looked to Adi and Angel. "You two are the best best friends."
The second year nodded at professor Cassie. Weird answer. The sun was up, yes, but that wasn't the type of thing you reply to 'what's up'. Anyways....
Hugo watched as the other students entered the room and waited for the class to begin. Ohh and there was Ethan, their former prefect. He was cool, yeah. "For what?" asked curiously. Was something interesting going to happen?
And the world may never know because class began.
The professors couldn't blame him, he wasn't good at reading tea leaves or reading about old people, therefore he wasn't feeling those "positive vibes". Hugo sighed at the request professor Cassie just made. He wasn't going to compliment a girl like Ethan just did, so..." You are cool, Dante" said the second year and gave him a thumbs up.

Marigold was wearing a large bow in her hair today, and kept self-consciously bringing her hand up to her hair to make sure it was still hanging on. With a smile, as she liked the positive vibes Prof. Cassie was going for, she turned and caught Norah's eye from across the classroom. "You're awesome," she mouthed, then made a heart with her hands. She loved the kid.
Yeah, another joint lesson. Cinna had thought about skipping just because it was a joint lesson. That disaster of a lesson. Sit down or get 10 points taken. Stand up or get 20 points taken. Sit down stand up sit down stand up. What was that supposed to be some type of psychical education thing?* Once she found out it was Divination and history of magic. There was no way that this could go bad. The professors were like best friends, right?
Assuming that she would have to make an entrance. But* She climb up the trapdoor. Sticking with the normal entrance she made, she cartwheeled in. "Good morning, professors." There that was easy enough. She walked over and took a sheet of paper and wrote down her snap. I'm proud that I know what the word forbidden means. She dropped it in the cup and went to find a seat.
-------------------------------------------
STRAWBERRIES!!!! Oh they were her favorite. Positive vibes, she had plenty of those. Everyone else just seems really bleh. Sure with everything going on the past few months. She was surprised. She didn't know the kid, so she really didn't know how she was supposed to feel.
Oh compliment, positive she looked around to find a special person too give her compliments away to. She was never one to just give them out. Spotting Marigold she turned her "Mari! You have pretty blonde hair and you are the sweetest person I know." She sent her a big smile too!
Yeah Dante was a tad bit bored so when Hugo said he was already bored he had to agree with him. "Same. We sure know how to get pumped up for a class" Dante said jokingly. It was true. Though it was cool how the class was set up. The only way this would not be boring was if they play acted like last year. Now that was fun. Sorry Professor. Not your fault. And why did they have to keep their eyes open. This was divination and HoM. Something dangerous was probably not going to happen. Though it was cool seeing Ethan again. It has been a while.
He got a sup nod back.
And what was with these snaps. Dante was confused and what. Something Positive. Well it was not hard. But he did not like being forced to say something. They should earn it on their own. Positive or Negative. Did not matter. So he looked around the room to see who he knew. And lets face it, he did not know that many people. Plus he was lazy right now. And Hugo just gave him a compliment.
"You are awesome"
He said to Hugo. Easy enough and he meant it. Still did not see the point of this, but Whatever

"This is sooooo exciting!" Cassie couldn't even contain her excitement. She had been snapping so much her fingers were actually a little swollen, but that didn't stop her from continuing her happy celebration. She had been ready for this class ever since they figured it out. A combined class with her bestie! It was just to good not to be excited and she hoped the students were just as ready as she was.
Her tea sat down on the little table near them, she looked around the room as Nessa did. "Yes I think everything is ready. The cats will be good, I haven't noticed them doing anything crazy." Thank Merlin, these kids didn't need bad crazy, but anything good crazy could be welcomed. It had been a few months, but she noticed the positive vibes around the castle were still fully missing. She didn't blame them, but she wanted to help make it a little brighter. "I'm always ready! Are you?" She knew Nessa would be ready, letting her green eyes go to the door, their first student was arriving. YAY!
Looking towards Cassie with her beamy smile in place, Nessa nodded as she listened to her best friend speak. Good, good, the cats would cooperate with them and their lesson. Brown eyes glanced towards the little felines as they roamed the room before looking back at the blonde woman next to her again. “Oh, of course I’m ready!” And she was super excited too! Was it time for class? Brown eyes snapped to the door as she saw a figure starting to enter.

Aww, a curtsy.. wasn’t that sweet? Nessa smiled warmly at the Ravenclaw. “Hello, Eden.”

Hmm, what? Nessa wasn’t sure what skit Angel was acting out, but it did seem interesting albeit confusing. She nodded to what Cassie said to the girl, then gave her a soft smile. “Have a seat, dear. Class will be starting soon.” Was she going to add to the snap cup?

Hmm.. Nessa watched curiously as Zander entered the room, her smile dimming somewhat. “Hello, Zander,” she returned his greeting with a smile, though she was internally concerned. He was usually one of her more upbeat students. Of course she knew that certain things could possibly be weighing on him, but she hoped that he had someone to talk to since events had happened nearly two months ago. That would be a long time to go without talking things out. Hopefully he’d take Cassie up on her offer if he needed that.

Well, it was nice to see such a happy, smiling face. Nessa beamed back at him. “Hello Adi!”

Though thankfully not soaking wet this time. It was nice.
"Hi Professor G and Hi Professor"
Nessa had been accustomed to seeing Dante simply walk in without making an entrance other than the literal sort, but that seemed to be the way with a lot of them anymore which was starting to become underwhelming. Still, the boy offered them a friendly greeting and she offered him a friendly smile in return. “Hi Dante!”

Oh but that was a fun and interesting entrance! Nessa smiled widely and clapped for Aubrey as she made her way into the classroom. “Hi Aubrey! Yes, that was wonderful!” She nodded towards Cassie. Aubrey never disappointed her in her willingness to participate.

Norah paused to stuff a strawberry into her mouth before taking a seat and looking expectantly at the two Professors. She didn't even get any red juice on the white table or ANYTHING. Man, she was all up on the proud stuff today, YEP.
Beaming brightly as Norah walked in, Nessa gave her a two-handed wave as she made her way over to them. “Oh, just lovely, dear! Hello, Norah!” She always did appreciate the girl’s enthusiasm and happy demeanor, even more so on a day like today when it seemed to be generally lacking in the classroom.

Hmm, Nessa just hated when names slipped her mind, but she just couldn’t always remember the ones that tended to fly under the radar in her own classes. And that made her feel bad anyway. This boy’s mood seemed much dimmer than the couple previous entrants though she tried to resume her normally bright smile. The whole vibe seemed off today for some reason, even if some of the perpetually cheerful ones were here. She allowed Cassie to answer his unique question, then game him a “Hello, dear,” before he went to take a seat.

”Well, hello, Ethan!” Nessa greeted the boy brightly as he walked in. Certainly she had loved his entrances in the past and was slightly disappointed not to see a creative one from him today, but she was too surprised to see him to even think about it. Had he just been skipping her classes or was there another reason that she hadn’t seen him in a while?

Nessa smiled at Zeke as he was the next to enter. She had come to know him as rather mellow anyway, so she wasn’t sure if today was anything out of the ordinary or not. “Hello, Zeke,” she nodded towards him as he moved his attention away.

Professor Morgan,” she greeted them, noticing the former Slytherin prefect and arrowing over near where he was sitting. She’d only recently seen Ethan around the castle again, and yet she remembered he was useful. In case there was need for useful during the lesson. She still guessed Hady would find her way up here too.
Nessa gave Brooklyn a slightly dimmer smile than she had had at the beginning of class as it seemed like the entire mood in general was lower than it should be. Not that the girl really did anything wrong, it was just a feeling she was getting and she liked happy, upbeat before class. She was missing the usual entrances too as it seemed to be fewer creative ones. “Hello, Brooklyn,” she smiled a bit bigger before the girl took her seat with her friends.

Grinning happily, she made her way through the tables and nodded to Professor Glendower and, er, that other one who's name she'd temporarily forgotten but would remember shortly. Yes.
Was it just her or was the mood getting increasingly lower? Nessa glanced towards Cassie before smiling back at the Ravenclaw as she walked in and nodded towards them. “Hello, Bambi.”

Hm, Toby seemed a little more on the mellow side as well. This just would not do for their joint lesson, not when the majority of their class seemed that way. Perhaps her own cheerful nature would be contagious, she could only hope. “Hello, Toby,” she said brightly, smiling widely before he turned his attention elsewhere.

Not caring at the moment that his cool image was broken, Kevin literally ran through the classroom, grabbed his wand and WHACKED the wood on top of his head. "YA! You bloody idiot, I missed you man!" ugh he was annoyed, but also happy. Hmmm.
Oh, that was.. interesting. But Kevin usually was. Brown eyes followed his ‘entrance’ and she blinked before smiling softly. “Good day, Kevin.” Everyone got a greeting regardless.

Nessa gave Hady a wave in return though she couldn’t help but to think the Slytherin girl’s mood was somewhat mellowed like some of her other classmates. They needed to change that and fast or else this lesson might prove to be a bit tedious. “Hello, Hady,” she smiled warmly as her before glancing at Cassie. Were they about ready to start or should they do some breathing exercises? They needed to change the mood of this room somehow.

"Hello again everyone, I hope you all found your way up here without any trouble today. We will be starting the lesson shortly, but I just wanted to take a moment to do our traditional snapcup, though I'm seeing some of you were not feeling up to it today, which is a shame. The Snapcup is to help with moral, positivity, and just over all encouragement. In times like we had a few months ago we need all the positive vibes we can. We as a school family have to look out for each other and help bring back happy in times of sad." It had been two months, so with children she would have thought things would be back to normal by now.
Looking to her snapcup she picked up the first on, "I'm proud that for the past two weeks I've been studying really hard for my NEWTs. That's just wonderful, Snaps for studying." Pulling out the next one she smiled, "I suppose I'm proud of the fact that I can learn advanced charms on my own." That must be one of the older students, well bravo, "Snaps for advanced charms." She snapped happily, picking up the next one she did frown, she wasn't a frowner, but she did frown it was blank. They were not even trying anymore. She fixed her face to be a smile once more and set it down. Then moved the snapcup over, "Okay it seems that we need a pick me up to bring back some of the positive vibes in the room. " She just couldn't do Divination with negativity.
"You have noticed the strawberries and sparkling water, that is yours for the taking, if you do not like strawberries I do have some Birthday Cupcakes for the end of lesson to celebrate Professor Glendowers birthday yesterday. Also, like last class if you have an allergy to cats or even the strawberries I do have some potions near the tea. For the next minute or so, I'd like you to turn to one person and tell them something positive, a compliment, an encouragement, something you like about them. Anything really, but it has to be positive."
Oh, yes, Snap Cup, of course.. that would put everyone in a better mood. Nessa nodded happily as Cassie got up to do that. Yes, she agreed with everything she said to the students. It was a shame that many of them seemed to opt out, but they could all use the positivity, especially in recent days, and especially today. Nessa snapped along for the first two that had been pulled out and read, they sounded like great accomplishments! Then she looked at Cassie curiously. Was it a bad one.. or.. ? Hm.
SPOILER!!: Benny, the latecomer

At least it didn't look like they had officially officially started the lesson so he was safe...right?
As for the complimenting of others around them, Benny looked to Adi and Angel. "You two are the best best friends."
Her attention was suddenly diverted as another popped up through the trapdoor. "Hello, Benjamin," she said, smiling widely at him as he quickly got to his seat. "We're just getting started." Good thing he hadn't missed much. She glanced back at Cassie as she informed everyone about the snacks at their tables.
Aww, she didn’t even know about the birthday cupcakes. What a sweet surprise! She smiled widely at Cassie, then quickly looked away as her smile dimmed somewhat at a particular thought, though the dimming of her smile wouldn’t be all that noticeable. She was still smiling happily even if internally bothered. And what a wonderful suggestion her friend had! That would surely help bring out the positivity! Nessa glanced around the room as students began telling each other words of encouragement, then she got up and stood near the podium. Turning towards Cassie, she beamed brightly at her. “By the way, you look super fab today! You really have a flair for coordinating fashion!”
Allowing the students another minute for encouragement, she clapped her hands together twice to get their attention. “Wonderful job everyone! Let’s get started! I’m so happy to see all of your faces today and I hope you enjoy our unique combination on today’s subject. We’ll be talking about some historical events that were influenced by a certain form of Divination.” She paused for effect and so that everyone could take that in. In case they were wondering about the correlation between their two subjects, hopefully that would become clearer. “Today we are going to play something of a game. I’m going to tell you a story about a time in history and based on the clues in the story, we want you to tell us what form of Divination was used. Perhaps it is one you are familiar with, perhaps not. Then Professor Cassie will let you know if you are correct and describe it a little more in detail.”
Sound good to them? It sure sounded fun to her! Now for the first story. “Our first story comes from Egypt where the lines of Magical and Muggle history are sometimes blurred. The year was 1991 BC and a man named Amenemhat was a political advisor to one of the Egyptian pharaohs, Mentuhotep. It is unclear if Amenemhat was a Muggle or actually a Wizard living among Muggles and hiding his identity, but it is known that he practiced a specific form of Divination. In fact, there are written accounts that he used this form of Divination to know the best time to overthrow his predecessor, Mentuhotep, and become pharaoh himself.” She glanced at Cassie to make sure she got this next part just right. “Based on this form of Divination, he predicted a bad storm, which distracted the pharaoh and made it easier to hide his identity during his attack. He was also able to know that he would have luck at this specific time as well as be able to watch for signs of intruders while he planned his attack. Based on what I told you in the story and based on what you know about Divination, what form did Amenemhat use or what do you think would have given him the best results?”

"I'm... okay, Professor." Yup. Dandy. Ahem. And ahhhh, Professor Morgan remembered Bludger. Toby smiled a little at that. "Oh, I think he's wandering somewhere 'round the castle, waiting to attack someone's shoelaces." That was one of the little rascal's favourite hobbies. Generally, Toby just let him go off on his own and live his life in the castle. The last thing he ever wanted was for the creature to be all cooped up. Nah. That wasn't fun.
He stayed quiet and watches as the professor started pulling moments for the snap cup, and at that last one suddenly froze, wide-eyed, as he realised that she must be looking at the one he'd contributed. Toby felt his face go warm, and he sank down a little in his seat as the guilt within him mounted. Like the professor had said... the snap cup was meant to help with positivity and morale, but had his contribution done that? No way.
Toby chewed at the inside of his lip and stared hard at the desk, feeling all kinds of awful. But then... a chance for redemption. A chance to have a POSITIVE impact on someone. He would absolutely take it.
Looking up again once he felt a little less wobbly, Toby picked the first person he set eyes on.
"Eden-" he began, but his voice went all weird and he sort of had to clear his throat before trying again with a little more clarity. "Ahem. Uh... Eden. I think you're a super great friend, and I like the way you try to make others happy. And I like your spirit. And I like the way you clearly love your sn-... pets. And I also think it's a privilege to be your friend."
Yep.
Okay. Luckily they were starting now which was a good distraction for Toby and everything, though he sort of felt like maybe he didn't deserve a distraction. Still, it was out of his hands, because suddenly a lot of words were being said, words that required focus.
And focus he did, and good job too, because Toby thought he might know the answer... or at least part of the answer... or at least give a decent guess. Actually contribute positively to the lesson and all. He raised his hand.
"Maybe it's like... using cats to predict things, like how we learnt before. Because they can predict weather, like storms, and I think if cats like... suddenly jump or something it means intruders are coming." Toby lowered his hand again, but was still adding his final point. "And weren't cats like... a big deal and everything to them... so... I dunno, it could fit."
It helped too that there was a cat wandering by quite close to Tobias. That had sort of jolted his memory and all.

He looked her way and nodded quietly before her question caught him off guard. Uh. Was he okay? Debatable. He had gotten his badge back and the Headmistress didn't blame him for what had happened. He hadn't been expelled. Things did go up towards the end of the detention, so considering all of that maybe he should've been okay? But he wasn't, not completely anyways. He still watched Gregoire die. Twice technically. She as sure the snake plushie DID. And with that, she scooted on back to her table. "Sorry-" she told them. "But I felt like he needed that." She said softly, blushing brilliantly. "Anyways--" now for nice things about Bambi and Lux. "Lux--you're a ray of sunshine in this DARK CASTLE. It always helps me feel focused." SHe nodded. "Bambi--you're as sweet as the deer you're christened after--" she felt like a DORK but she was being all dramatic on purpose. "And you're ALSO a ray of sunshine---" yep.
Yep.
Two rays of sunshine at this table. Eden must be the ray of moonlight or something.
And yes, Zander heard Professor Morgan's announcement, but he wasn't expecting to get any of those positive compliment things from Kevin, so when Eden ran up to his table the Gryffindor couldn't hold back a look of confusion? AND THEN HE WAS BEING HUGGED. But it was okay because Eden was really nice. Especially after he had come back to the note and the snake plushie and everything. Made him feel a little more at ease after that horrible detention. His cheeks were starting to turn a violent shade of pink as the Ravenclaw began to speak waitwhat. Why would anyone look up to HIM?
Ahem. Anyways. "Thanks, Eden. I-The stuff you had someone leave on my bed, it was really really nice. I needed something like that," he gave her a soft smile-- something he wasn't planning on doing today, smiling. She was just SO nice.
And oh, class was starting then? With that, the Gryffindor sat down in his seat, shifting around a bit at first. There was a lot of information, huh? Zander was only half listening to be completely honest, as he had tons on his mind lately. Though a game thing did sound kind of interesting. Resting his head on his hand, he let his eyes circle around the top of the table. He was going to stay quiet this lesson.
He just decided.
He was feeling a lot better than moments ago when he entered the room though, that was for sure. Clearly isolating himself did the opposite of what he thought it would and being around people actually did help lift spirits. Funny how things worked, huh? Real funny. But again, just going to half listen some more. Not answer anything. Not yet.

Yeah, she still wasn't used to the greeting thing that happened here every single lesson. It was weird. The nod was the most Bambi could bend to this odd Hogwarts tradition that she couldn't wrap her head around. Didn't the professors get tired of repeating themselves?! It baffled the blonde.
Oh, hey, that was her thing! Nodding, she smiled at the snaps - it was amusing, after all - and practically beamed when the professor claimed the strawberries were theirs for the munching. And there was going to be BIRTHDAY CAKE. AWESOME. But, she'd have to give someone a compliment first. Didn't sound too hard, Bambi was good at giving compliments.
She had just bitten into her second strawberry when Eden got up and Bambi watched, amused, as she went over to the Gryffindor prefect and hugged him before coming back and saying super sweet, if slightly teasing, things. Bambi mock rolled her eyes at the mention of Bambi the Deer, but saying she was used to it would be the understatement of the century. If anything, she mostly found the cartoon animal's constant mentions funny.
"Right back at you, sweetheart," she laughed and winked at Eden before turning to Lux and grinning at her. "You ESPECIALLY are a ray of sunshine, Lux," she felt this needed to be stressed, "and I am super glad I met you as well."
YAY good feelings whoop whoop. Never mind a kid died not a month ago. But that's probably why the professors were doing this right? Taking all these moody teenagers and pulling them out of their down. She mulled this over when she caught a mention of someone complimenting the Hufflepuff prefect on his guitar skills. Oh? That sounded like something she needed to explore. Not wanting to be caught randomly staring, Bambi shot him a wide smile and bent to write a small memo on her parchment to see if perhaps they could play together. She desperately needed - and wanted - the practice.
But anyways. Lesson.
Well, this sounded like a game Bambi would be absolutely terrible at.
Good thing she'd come, because after listening to the History of Magic professor, the seventh year found she had absolutely no clue where to even begin when thinking up an answer to this question. Could she use her textbook? Yes? Good. Opening it, Bambi looked for something that could help her.
She found nothing. Awkward. Then something occurred to her from the little she knew about Egypt, and it was a looooooong shot, but better something than nothing no? "Professors," who was she supposed to address anyways? "could it be divination based on dreams?" and that was ALL she was going to say because anything else and she'd sound completely dumb. Like try and pronounce the name of this type of divination, which was utterly unpronounceable from memory.
Also she had absolutely no clue if dream divination had anything to do with, uh, Amentemt-hap or whatever his name was. Oh well.

Someone else was calling him? Adi craned his head in Dylan's direction. Another compliment! "Thanks, dude. Appreciate it but you see, I had a great teacher.'' It was trueeee! Dylan had been a good sport to show him the basics of the guitar back in their first year despite their falling out the very summer.
Turning his attention towards Benny upon hearing his voice too, Adi grinned. Hearing his bestie say stuff like that was kind of alien since he was so much more reserved. "You're the best bestie too.''
....................
Aha! So That's what they were going to be doing for the lesson! At least there was going to be a bit of the theoretical part that he was going to be good at. The fifth year focused on the story Glendower was narrating to them. Amenemhat? Egypt? The only thing Adi could think about was that person using cats since those creatures were quite popular and all in Egypt. And since his House mate Tobias had already mentioned it, the fifth year decided he would sit this one out.

There was definitely a positive vibe in the air and it had everything to do with the fact that Glendower and Professor Cassie had teamed up to bring them a lesson more cheerful than the Elixir to Induce Euphoria. Swear to Merlin, if there was a dementor in here, it wouldn't be able to suck out all the happy from this particular duo.
How in the freaking name of Merlin did people stay that happy?
Yeah. Whatever. Not the time to think about that.
Not that he could when there was a cat that was prowling around near his legs. Huh. Cats. Fitted in well with the question that Glendower had asked, didn't it? And Toby had gone ahead and mentioned that, showing the world that he wasn't just a handsome face. What a dude, man.
His answer? Could he guess something else? "If it's not cats and dreams, is it studying ancient relics and predicting the future from that? See, Egypt is known for its Ancient Egyptian history and it's bound to have a ton of relics in there in hieroglyphs and whatnot. Dude could have used them to his advantage. Using the past to predict the future and all."

Awww, Professor Glendower was so sweet. Lux smiled as she was complimented on her dancing. It was a lot of fun and this game sounded like a lot of fun too!
Listening carefully, Lux tried to gather all the information she could before making a guess based on the clues provided to them. Once she felt she knew the answer she raised her hand. "Was it divination using cats like we learned in the other lesson? The ancient Egyptians were big on cats. Cats can also predict weather as well as intruders." Or well, she was sure she remembered reading about that.
So Dante did mention he knew nothing about Divination, right? So the history part of Professor's G lecture was interesting. Just he could not answer with anything that could be considered witty, punny, or right. Only wrong. Since he knew nothing.
He bet it had to do with sand though. There was a lot of sand in Egypt. He should know he had been there on a vacation. And it was hot. But that was not really....well it as just obvious. Yeah.
Sand, Bet it had to do with Sand.

Kace totally spaced out on the commenting aspect of the lesson. He was too busy doodling in his notebook and then as he looked up he noticed Professor Glendower began the lesson. He heard her explanation of the lesson and about the Pharoh's and the Egyptians and he was getting lost already. Man this was a pretty long explanation. He started to space out again. He didn't really get that much sleep last night. His eyelids began to droop because of the warm atmosphere.
He just stayed silent and really had NO idea what to say. He heard Lux's answer and went with hers. She was usually good in this subject anyways.

Kevin did NOT feel bad for hurting Zander when he had hit him on the head. In fact, he was grinning a little bit because he thought it was funny until his friend turned around and said that he had missed him too. The grin faded away and it was replaced with a frown AND a blush on the cheeks. He had just openly admitted that he had missed someone and that was not cool. Not in his book. He cleared his throat as he sat down and listened to him explaining that he hadn’t been avoiding him. That earned him another WHACK on the top of his head though. “So what you call it? Hiding in self-pity? You could have at least talked to me!” seriously, he knew he was horrible and that the death of that kid hadn’t struck him as heavily as the others but come on! He wanted to say some more but then class started and the Gryffindor sighed as he gave his best friend and still Prefect a ‘we’ll talk about this later’ look.
Enjoying their unique combination on today’s subject…. Unique it was , enjoying it he wasn’t so sure. At least Zander was here now and he wasn’t alone anymore. So he turned to him when the Divination Professor instructed them to say something nice about the person next to them and he winked. "you're a bloody idiot but an good bloody idiot" Nice words from Kevin yo. He then listened to the hints given for the guessing game they were playing and honestly, he had no idea.

That was a little better. She was still eyeing a few that seemed to have some issues. Though she felt better herself hearing these words of encouragement and positivity. Yes it would do. Smiling at Nessa as she gave her compliment, Cassie snapped, "I adore your personality and the way you can bring history to life. You are a fantastic professor." She had been in her besties classes, she knew that she was.
Listening to Nessa talk about Egypt, Cassie's eyes moved around the room as she lifted from her chair. No need to be sitting anymore, she liked to walk around the room during her lessons.
Toby was a smart kid and Cassie knew he did very well in Divination, but look at him connecting the dots between both subjects, she beamed and snapped for him. "Very good, Cats were used in Egyptian times and Amenemhat was known to have cats around him always." The vibes in this class were turning around already.

Making her way back to the front of the room, she picked up her own feline friend, Aries. "Now in Ancient Egyptian times, it wasn't uncommon to find cat worshiping. That form as we have learned in our previous lessons is called Ailuromancy. "
Giving Aries a kiss on the head, she set him down on the stage and turned back to the room, "Now during this time Amenemhat, like Professor Glendower mentioned was an advisor, but some feared him, because he always seemed to knowledgeable. Though that made others start to follow him, listen to him. As unclear as it is because of records, I think we all might find his methods a little familiar. It is said that he would be caught watching cats in and around the area. Writing and documenting their movements. Egyptians did indeed love cats. Bambi accepted that she'd gotten this one wrong, and wrote down the correct answer. Tough luck for Ancient Egyptians allergic to cats, eh? Would have probably died very early on. Writing down Ailuromancy and underlining it, Bambi set her quill down and listened before summarising it all into a few short sentences. She already had mountains upon mountains of notes to read up on, any future note taking was going to be extremely brief and concise.
Huh. She literally had no idea. Could she guess? Did she want to guess? Hang on, wait, perhaps there was something about that in her textbook... Leafing through it quickly, she grinned and closed the book before raising her hand. "When the cat curls up with its forehead on the ground," she said. Perhaps it was cheating a little bit, but Bambi really didn't like being wrong.

Norah grinned and wiggled slightly in her seat as BOTH the Puffer prefects said nice things. Well, Mari mouthed nice things but really it was the same thing. She flashed a hand heart right back at the older girl, which kind of looked more like a potato shape but it's the thought that counts, okay? Looking down at her fingers, she scrunched them up in all different directions but the shape STILL didn't look very much like a heart. Had this always been this hard?
The third year looked up suddenly and noticed she'd already missed the first question. Ooooopsies. But hey! They were talking about cats AGAIN. Norah remembered that lesson, uh huh, it was a FUN lesson with all the ickle kitties 'n stuff. Waving her hand in the air, she answered, "When they put their heads on the floor--if they're sleeping like that. But I don't think its very easy to put your head on the floor when you're standing up, except cats are pretty cool so maybe they do that sometimes." She eyed the floor for a moment, wondering if SHE could but her head on the floor when standing up, before looking back at Professor Cassie again. Right? Riiiight? The thirteen year old picked up another strawberry and popped it in her mouth. Awesomesauce.
As Adi and Bambi walked in, Lux sent them both waves. "Hey, guys! How are you both doing?" Hehe, their little group at the table was growing but she did have to look away as both Bambi and Eden started eating strawberries.
Oh, good. Professor Cassie was speaking to her. "I'm doing alright considering the circumstances. How are you?" Everyone was sad after what happened to Gregoire, and she was still having a hard time not thinking of how she had almost lost Bay in that stupid forest. The second question confused her for a moment before Lux realized what it was in regards to. "Oh, I'm just highly allergic to strawberries." So no eating them or touching them.
She eyed the bowl of fruit as if daring it to do something.
Proud moments were being read, and she snapped along to them but the best news so far was CUPCAKES because yummy. She would have to wish Professor Glendower a happy belated birthday later. Maybe she would take the allergy potion just to be safe, but she was not going to be eating the strawberries.
Awww, Eden was being sweet with her Positive words . It was soooo adorable and made Lux smile. "Thanks! You're a ray of sunshine too! Everyone is!" But the biggest ray of sunshine was her Lion. Oooooh. So the little Puffer was allergic to...strawberries? What a STRANGE thing to be allergic to...and kind of terrible, too, since they were amazing!
Eden almost CRIED. That was very nice of him. He liked her SPIRIT, he said. And her...treatment of her BABIES. Thank you for not mentioning them aloud, Tobias. Hehe. Eden rubbed her very red cheeks and nodded at him. "Thank you, Toby. I am honored to be your friend, too, because you're one of the kindest, most genuine people I know." And it was true. Toby WAS really kind...she had never seen him be rude to anyone....hmph.

Zander should've known better than to show up to this class while he was in a bit of a weird mood still. Professor Morgan wouldn't like that very much, would she? Clearly not. And though she didn't really mention it, he could tell that she had deflated just a bit as he walked through the door. "Thanks, Professor." It was pretty kind of her to offer up her space to him actually. At least there was one Professor who didn't hate him yet. Not that he was sure any of the others did... Well, obviously Professor Quigley did, but that was-- Anyways.
The Gryffindor found himself staring at the top of the table absentmindedly as he waited. You know, maybe choosing a table in the back all by himself wasn't such a great idea after all... And that's when he heard someone else pulling out a chair and he couldn't help but hope that it was Kevin. Except it wasn't, but he liked AJ too. "I'm uh-you know, I'm----" the words were hard to form, and for once in his life he was actually thankful that someone took the liberty to WHACK HIM IN THE HEAD???? Saved by the Kevin, essentially. But that didn't mean the whack hurt any less. Geez, Kev. So it was no wonder that Zander let out a LOUD YELP when his head was attacked. "OI!" Reaching a hand towards his head, the Gryffindor turned around so that he was face to face with the culprit. This was it. People were rallying against him.
Oh.
"I've missed you too, Kevin." Wait. That was weird. Did Kevin just admit to that out loud? Uh, what? Zander was still rubbing the back of his head by the way. Ahem. "I haven't been avoiding you," he tried to assure the fourth year, but after a moment, he shook his head. "No well, I've been avoiding everyone, really..." He didn't want to have to answer questions that he couldn't answer, you know? And there was also the fact that he was still super disappointed in himself... And the badge stuff.... And... It wasn't just Kevin, okay? Actually, running into Kevin was pretty much the only reason he had bothered to show up to this lesson in the first place.
Not yet.
Yeah, the Gryffindor needed lots and lots of hugs right now. If Puck was here--maybe she was and Eden was BLIND or something--Eden would give them to her, too. Poor things.
POOR DEARS.
She sighed as she waved at Zander and winked--like, hey, I'm here for you, buddy--kind of wink. She knew he was taking great care of one of her many treasured snake plushies. Because they were almost as valued as the REAL thing, yeah?

Oh well.
Heh. A wink from Bambi. Eden didn't know how to TAKE that, but she smirked a little and found herself blushing. Because Bambi was a pretty laaaaady. hsfuishfiuhgihg.
She tore her eyes away from Bambi's blonde hair to listen to Professor Glendow explain about...today's lessons.
GAME?!?!?!
THEY WERE PLAYING A GAME??!!??! OMM. OH M MERLIN.
The Ravenclaw loved all games ever ALMOST ALL GAMES EVER.
Though, Merlin, Eden had no idea about what this Amenhatguy could have been doing. Or was it Nopenmhet? Het? Hetty? She couldn't even remember the NAMES. Anything Egyptian based was cool to the Ravenclaw though because CUTTY was half Egyptian and she thought it was the COOLEST THING EVER. Her Cuthbert.
Ahem.
Moving on.
She cleared her throat and decided to just...take a WILD guess. "Maybe he used....cats? They were...prominent in Egypt...." RIGHT? Eden didn't know, though. This could be completely wrong...probably was, actually.
....
AND YAY. She was right. Whee. Eden liked being right. It meant she wasn't as dumb as she thought she was. Which was always a welcome notion. Amenhat? HETTY. Eden was sticking to call the bloke Hetty because she could garble their names correctly. Merlin.
She raised her hand at professor Morgan's question,...but a LOT of people knew this answer. "Yeah--what everyone else said--because we're all SO smart today!" she said cheerfully, smiling.
EVERYONE WAS SMART TODAY. Except maybe Kevin. He might be getting answers right, but Eden side-eyed the Gryffindor. Troublesome kid. Eating another strawberry, she turned back to look at Professsssors Glendow and Morgan.

Smiling brightly, Nessa’s eyes followed Lux as she danced into the room, clapping for her when she was finished. “Hello Lux! Well done!”
Nessa thought it was just about that time, but she noticed another entering the classroom first. Oooh, cartwheels! She did love the acrobats. Nessa gave some polite applause as she smiled widely at the girl. "Wonderful job! And hello, Cinna."
Was it a bad one.. or.. ? Hm.
And so, the lecture begins. Ethan got his parchment and self-inking quill out of his satchel and wrote down the gist of Professor G’s opening discourse. The blond boy would nod along as he took down important information. Underlining the name Amenemhat, Ethan could not help but admire the man. Not that he’s against males owning cats, but the guy was an absolute genius. People may have seen him as a weirdo, following and studying cats all over the place, but what the rest doesn’t know is that he was somehow gaining power. The guy was a total Slytherin. His grandfather would totally approve.
Remaining silent, he waited for his classmates to answer, his quill at the ready.

Smiling at Nessa as she gave her compliment, Cassie snapped, "I adore your personality and the way you can bring history to life. You are a fantastic professor." She had been in her besties classes, she knew that she was.
Listening to Nessa talk about Egypt, Cassie's eyes moved around the room as she lifted from her chair. No need to be sitting anymore, she liked to walk around the room during her lessons. When the question of which form of Divination was given she turned her eyes on the class pointing at the first with a hand up;
Toby was a smart kid and Cassie knew he did very well in Divination, but look at him connecting the dots between both subjects, she beamed and snapped for him. "Very good, Cats were used in Egyptian times and Amenemhat was known to have cats around him always." The vibes in this class were turning around already.
Looking to the older Ravenclaw, Cassie beamed and again gave some snaps, "Dream Interpretation would be an interesting choice." She thought a moment how it could be used to do this specific task. "I could see the Egyptians using this form, because they were people of a spiritual background, but this form of divination wasn't brought to Egypt until much later then this historic event. Very good thought process though." She always loved when people at least tried.
Relics, now there was another great answer, snaps went to him as well. "Very good thoughts Grayson, Egyptians certainly used many relics during this time period. Though with relics it would be hard to predict and get a good reading about weather and intruders. Relics are used for a very different type of Divination." Not quite, but they were both on the right track.
Smiling as she got to Lux, the Hufflepuff got snaps as well. "Very good Lux, cats as mentioned in some of our last lessons this term, were very important to Egyptians. So Ailuromancy was the form that Amenemhat used." Smart kiddos in this room, very smart. She beamed again before moving on to the next students.
Her eyes went around the room seeing a few that didn't seem to answer, it was okay not to answer and she smiled at them. Though she'd wish they'd at least try, but maybe their answer was already given. Her eyes stopping on Zander, worried about him still, but that would wait until after class. The rest seemed attentive, so she was going to move on, until one gave a very weird answer. Looking to Rorie with a tilt of the head, "Are you alright dear? The answer would be Cats or Ailuromancy, not Mao. Please use are words, we are young adults." Giving her an encouraging smile and a few snaps, she gestured for her to sit up and then turned back to the others answering.
Hearing someone blurt out an answer her eyes turned toward Kevin and she snapped, "Divination using cats is the answer, very good Kevin. Wonderful how you connected the dots and brought the two together." It was very good with all of them, Cassie was so proud.
Making her way back to the front of the room, she picked up her own feline friend, Aries. "Now in Ancient Egyptian times, it wasn't uncommon to find cat worshiping. Cats were sacred to the Egyptian people. They were a religious symbol known as Mau, so there is no wonder that a form of Divination using them came to be.
Many had no clue what he was doing, but we know he was studying readings to find the best time for his attack. As we know a cat is a very good indicator for weather. " Giving a look to Nessa to make sure she was ready for the next question, she turned back to the room. "Before we move to the next guessing game, could anyone tell me what movement in a cat shows that a storm is coming?"
He did remember pilfering Simon’s notes a few nights ago about this cat business, and Ethan thought that his Watson was going nutso. Apparently, there is such a things called ‘Cat Divination’ or Ailuromancy. Interesting. In fact, maybe he should delve more on this subject, because it’s cool. Definitely more fascinating than bee-keeping, yes?
And…cat’s forehead on the floor? LOL! That’s funny! Ethan looked if Professor Cassie’s cat was doing it.
…
Nope. No storm coming.
Ethan drew a cat with its forehead on the floor on his parchment, and took note of its meaning.

Gosh, Eden was so precious. Lux smiled at her friend in appreciation as she leaned back while eating her strawberry. It was like a silent 'thank you' so as not to interrupt the lesson and she hoped the older Ravenclaw understood that.
And yay, she got the first one right!! Look at her, she was on fire. After making a mental note on what the form of divination was called - as she had forgotten it - Lux raised her hand to answer the next question. "I agree with what everyone else said." No need to explain things further when a million other people had already stated it, but she definitely was sure that was the right answer.
