With the first floor still the Weasley Swamp, Professor Glendower and Professor Cassie have decided to join forces and have a combined lesson. As you make your way towards the trapdoor you will find a very familiar sign that is usually found on the History of Magic door.

Once you walk into the room you will see that Professor Cassie has set the room up a bit differently. There is no quiet music as you enter, but the smell of lavender is filling the room. Longer tables and chairs all in white and the usual after class snack will be happening before class on, bottles of sparkling water and strawberries this time around are waiting at each table. A small stage like area with a podium and two chairs sits in the front of the room. On the edge of the stage you will see the usual snapcup just waiting for you to place your proud moments in it.
You will also notice in the corner of the room an area with costumes and Divination supplies such as tea cups and tarot cards. You will also notice a few cats roaming the room, including two very familiar ones owned by Professor Cassie.
Professor Cassie is sitting in one of the two chairs up front sipping her tea waiting for her fabulous students.

Heh. So his answer was off buuuut like Professor Cassie said, he had come close. Adi grinned as the woman did some snaps; he wasn't put down by being wrong. Tea leaves seemed to be the correct answer and Adi made a note of that. And what was that? Someone did not have the gift of Divination? That sounded like him.
The Puffer squinted at Professor Cassie's cup. He could see the cluster just fine but was it really a goose? It wasn't a duck or something else resembling a goose? Anyway, Adi flipped his text book to page twenty two before raising his hand again. "A clover is a lucky sign meaning happiness and prosperity. The goose also means happiness but with a successful venture.'' Did that mean that the shorty Professor would get double happiness? But wasn't she already high on it even without her cup telling her that? Hehe.

Bambi nodded along when she got confirmation that she'd answered correctly - wasn't news when everyone got the answer right - but frowned when the professor turned to a younger girl who was messing around. Years of being brought up differently had her silently disapproving of the girl's shenanigans, but she did think the professor's words were uncalled for. There was an INCREDIBLY small chance that even one of the students here were true Seers, so why bash this one kid? Was she trying to set an example or something? Because Bambi didn't feel like a lesson had been dished out here, rather just some verbal abuse.
Okay, she wouldn't go THAT far, but it just... it was really uncalled for. Anyone can bloody read tea leaves, all they needed was a textbook. Didn't need to be a SEER or have any sort of gift. All she'd needed to do was just tell the kid to quiet down, or hand out a warning. Why kick her out?!
Hmpf.
"Perhaps leaves could be a flower, since there's no interpretation of leaves," Bambi's voice was very much colder now, and she was direct and to the point. Also she wouldn't repeat the answer with the tree. "And flower means good fortune, just like clover is good luck and is happiness. All in all a very positive reading," cue the flat, monotone voice and disapproving look.
"Also Professor," her mouth began talking before she realised what was happening, "I'm 100% sure I haven't got any sort of knack for divination either, should I leave too?"
O_________O Oh gods. Did she just say that?!

So it was reading tea leaves - or Tessomancy. Huh, Lux really needed to get better with the terminology for this subject because it could prove to be very important for the exam. It was a little hard when all the forms of divination seemed to have complex names.
Rory's acting like a cat got a laugh, but it seemed Professor Cassie didn't find it funny. Oh dear. The telling off was rather mild though especially compared to Quigley and Bellaire. This woman didn't have a mean bone in her body, bless her. Smiling, Lux listened to the rest of the story before opening her textbook to the right page so that she could do the interpretations.
Clover and a goose... When she was ready she raised her hand. "Clover is lucky and means prosperity and happiness. A goose also means happiness as well as success in something you try to do." So all and all it was a good reading for Professor Cassie.

So a student had died in the forrest only a few months back and they were just going to sit here and interpret tea? Sounded just about right. Well, there's Hogwarts for you. Not that Zander expected much more, but it was just really hard to try to sit here and think through this stuff seriously when there was so much going on outside of the classroom. Just put things into perspective.
Annnnnnnnnnd his notes were going slanted again.
Sweet Merlin. He'd have to fix that too then. So instead of offering an answer to the question (like the last three times) he reached into his bag instead to grab another piece of parchment. How long would this class run for?

Toby watched as Professor Morgan spoke to that Slytherin girl. He tried not to. Tried very hard to not look and to act like he wasn't being nosy or anything but it was kind of difficult to ignore. But ultimately, he decided to just keep his head down and add to his notes until the next question came along. Ahem.
Okay. So. Clover and goose. What did those mean. Toby was immediately drawn to the goose one, because duhhhh, geese were awesome. He went through his textbook to quickly check before raising his hand.
"Clover means like, luck and prosperity. Things going well. Which makes sense to me, because of the whole lucky four leaf clover thing. And a goose means happiness too, which also makes sense, 'cause geese are amazing. And also a 'successful venture'... which sort of makes me think of that saying about a golden goose, which is pretty neat too."
Toby... Toby was getting slightly distracted. But staying on topic somehow... sort of.

Eden was VERY surprised Professor Morgan asked Rorie to leave...she usually wasn't so sharp..but she supposed Rorie had pushed some type of button, maybe. She glanced at Bambi, who was sticking up for her friend..and she kind of raised her hand. "Professor--does Rorie have to leave? Won't that cause some negative energy that can affect how we're all reading?" she asked softly, trying to be as respectful as possible...she didn't want to make Professor Morgan MORE annoyed. But Rorie....
BUT DIVINATION O_O
Eden flipped over her book to look at the signs...yeah, everyone was right. "They both are good omens--luck, or good fortune--so--extra lucky.." she said with a smaaaaaall smile. Had Rorie left already?? Merlin. This was...certainly an interesting class.
And she was worried about Rorie. She made a mental note to go talk to her friend later.

Angel raised her hand. "Professor does it mean that you are going to have happiness and prosperity, maybe you are going to find Mr right or something more amazing like becoming a film star or a television star and so you'll have loads of fans and because really famous, which would tie in perfectly with the next symbol as you will have a successful venture, so as I said be prepared Professor, your going to go and try for a part in a film and it's going to snowball from there." Angel wondered if she should get paid for giving a good reading, that is what happened right?
As they moved on and students were answering they were interrupted yet again by Miss Hazelwood. She kept her calm and her smile as she picked up her tea cup for the rest of the class. "I'm so sorry Miss Hazelwood, but the minute you came into the room I realized you did not have the gift of divination." A dramatic pout on her face. "I know it can be so rough when you don't have the true gift or the mind to at least train for ones that don't need an inner eye, but I'm afraid it seems you just don't. So if you want to take your joking and interruptions to another class that would be just lovely. You can have a cupcake on your way out."
Turning back to the rest of the group she beamed even more, "Now as Professor Glendower said the Minister was very involved in Divination and looked to the signs to determine many of his decisions. People that knew him well of course like all people with Divination, had different opinions on him doing this. " She was all too familiar with the way of the world when it come to her line of work. "Now with Gypsies, as always people either accept them or fear them. So the minister accepting them showed he was a true believer. Whether you think it was right or wrong, no one can disagree that it was an interesting way to find out about people he hired. Tessomancy or reading of tea leaves was so simple. Set a tea cup out, have the person drink it, and then do a reading once they had gone. Now some did not drink the tea, so he would look to other ways to determine, but we all know that the majority will drink the tea." Everyone should drink tea, it was just that good in her opinion.
"With Tessomancy you drink all the tea and then you look to the bottom of your cup." She showed her cup that she was holding. "As you look into mine you can see a clover with this little cluster of leaves and a goose with this little group. If you open your book to page 22 can anyone tell me what those symbols mean before Professor Glendower moves on to the next story and guessing game."
This was fun, she was really enjoying this combined lesson!
Once she was finished with her story, Nessa stepped back to listen to the students' guesses and to allow Cassie to field this next part to let them all know just what kind of Divination they were talking about. She was fairly sure that this example was a little bit harder, but goodness, did they have some smart students! Most of them either caught on right away or had some very insightful alternative answers.
But as cheerful as she was trying to be today, Nessa's smile dimmed somewhat as she heard the sarcasm come from Miss Hazelwood. She supposed her mood was more easily swayed due to the negative energy from the beginning of class as well as her mellowed birthday yesterday. But she thought Cassie handled it rather well and quite cheerfully too. Right now was not a time for interrupting their teaching by ridiculing either of their subjects. And if Miss Hazelwood could not understand that, then Nessa certainly stood by Cassie's decision to ask her to take that kind of nonsense elsewhere. But maybe she'd take the opportunity to rethink her behavior.

Trying to move past the negativity and regain her cheerful nature, Nessa then turned her attention to the students that seemed to be willing to keep an open mind and participate. "Very good, all of you!" Nessa smiled proudly at the first three who began to interpret the signs. "Those all point towards happiness, prosperity, and success in different aspects of Professor Cassie's life." Oh? Nessa watched Bambi carefully as she answered, not impressed at all with the way she was looking at the Divination professor. She wasn't exactly sure what the issue was, but the look was quite disrespectful and she wasn't having that either. She knew Bambi was new this year, but she hadn't seen any issue like that in her class before. She nodded at her answer, still slightly distracted, and was about to comment, when the girl's snarky comment reached her ears, causing her eyebrows to raise in alarm.
So that was what the girl's issue was. Nessa looked at the girl with a tight-lipped smile. The negative energy needed removed from this room and she wasn't sure how, but the students did know they needed to be respectful whether or not they agreed with teaching methods. "Miss Fleming, as Professor Cassie told your classmate in as many words, during the time we are trying to teach is not the time for rude interruptions." And yes, Nessa very much thought Bambi's words were rude, especially in the context she was giving. "Professor Cassie and I both expect not only an open mind to our subjects and methods of teaching, but a certain level of respect as well. In fact that is a rule we both ask all of our students to familiarize themselves with before entering either of our classrooms," she said kindly but firmly. "If you feel that either of those things are beyond your grasp, then yes, you may leave. Otherwise, adhere to our classroom rules." And that went for anyone at this point, her mood was quite frazzled now and she could do without the negativity.

Nessa gave a quick glance in Zander's direction, rather disappointed that he was remaining so silent for their discussion. He seemed to have no problem talking with his friends at the beginning of class, perhaps she needed to actually call on him by name. Some degree of participation was necessary, even if he appeared to be taking notes. That was rather unlike him.

Even though her mood was somewhat lower than where it had been earlier in the lesson, Nessa couldn't help but to smile a little at Toby's answer. "Miss McGee," she began with a small smile directed towards the girl. "Asking Miss Hazelwood to take her interruptions and inability to take class seriously elsewhere was exactly how Professor Cassie was trying to remove the negative energy." Nessa was rather distracted at this point and just ready to move on in the lesson. Hopefully the next question and then their activity would be a little more positive. "Yes, dear.. that sounds about right," she murmured distractedly to Angel after she half-heard her answer, then she took to the front of the room again for the last story.
"Alright, class, let's move on to our last story before we begin our activity," Nessa began, mustering up some extra cheerfulness. "This next story comes from our very own Hogwarts. You may know the former Headmaster, Armando Dippet. During his tenure here, the Divination professor at the time often did his own readings, as expected, but the Headmaster wasn't a strong believer in Divination. One day the Divination professor found death in a fortune, as well as crisis and danger, but unfortunately the Headmaster dismissed the findings. It was later noted that this fortune could have very well predicted the opening of the Chamber of Secrets, which happened within several months of the reading." It was always unfortunate when someone just did not open their mind enough to believe. "What do you think the Divination professor used for this reading?"
She felt that she gave just enough clues but left it a little vague that maybe they'd have to put on their thinking caps. But for now she was going to take one of the birthday cupcakes back to her seat and maybe eat her feelings like she did yesterday.

Adi couldn't wait to find out what the activity would be. But first, there was this last story. He listened closely before his mind once again worked through the process of elimination.
"Tarot card reading?'' he suggested raising his left hand yet again. The Hufflepuff felt sorry for old Dippet if whatever form of Divination it was he used had indeed been the prediction of the Chamber of Secrets incident. But Adi could hardly blame him. Sometimes he wasn't so sure if he believed in all of these Divinary methods.
Norah's eyebrows crept together slightly as she the tone of the room got less and less happy. She picked up another strawberry and swallowed quickly, before picking up her quill and recording the new information with her head down. No need to draw attention to herself now that everybody was getting annoyed, nope. Nope nope nope. The third year rested her cheek on her hands as she listened to Professor Glendower's next story.
Um um. Uuuuummm. They'd already done the kitty one and tea leaves, so what was left? Norah put a hand in the air, because she might was well participate. "Was it scrying? Death, crisis, and danger. They were small parts of the story, but it was perhaps one of the only bits out of them all that stuck out to him while he was busy taking notes and being silent. Death. Last year it would've sounded kind of unreal. A story that felt like just that, a story. But now, death felt tangible. Of course, it was always a possibility. Because really, death is the only thing you're promised and all... But it never felt like it could happen to you, y'know? Like it was just a thing that happened when you got wrinkly and ancient... And stuff.
Except, it was very much a possibility. Gregoire was proof.
Man, why'd they have to bring up the death stuff again? If Zander had been warming up to start answering questions any time soon, this certainly changed things. How could he answer questions that required his concentration when his mind was elsewhere? He couldn't. That's why he just silently scribbled some notes. Despite the fact that Ravenclaws always seemed to do the note thing, it wasn't all that consuming of a process. Didn't take any real thought. Just had to mindlessly write down the words that you heard and you could go on thinking about whatever else you wanted (which wasn't HoM and Divination) (Ahem)..

There’s just…so many things to put in his brain, yeah? Ethan wasted no time to take down more notes, as well as consulting his text book for the answer. He reckons that clovers meant good luck because it’s like…a universal symbol. However the goose part got him confused. Reading his textbook, and listening to his classmates, the Slytherin took notes, and maybe a quick drawing of a goose was also included in his notes so it’ll be easier for him to retain the information.
And what is up with that drama queen heading out over there? Yes, she may be a Slytherin, but she certainly doesn’t act like one. Ethan looked at her, scoffed at her sass, and continued being a nerd. Merlin, some just can’t take these subjects seriously, yeah? Well at least they have good and willing professors to teach them, and be great products of one of the elite schools in the Wizarding World. Honestly, Ethan still has reservations about Divination, but if there’s one thing he’s most scared of, it would be Karma. The sixteen year old won’t be surprised if she gets bad luck after her show.
Moving on, Ethan took down keywords on his notes and underlined the word ‘fortune’. Raising his hand up, “I agree with Adi, professors. It must be Tarot Card reading this time because you mentioned the word fortune.” Fortune telling equals…tarot card reading right?
Merlin. Divination is hard.

...Well, this class had certainly taken an interesting turn.
With wide eyes, Lux watched as Bambi got a telling off from Glendower. She never thought she would see the day when THAT happened because the Professor was always so nice and understanding. Sending a small smile to Bambi, she hoped the older girl would stay. Rory was out the door, however, so back to the lesson.
Oooh, it was almost activity time!! That was bound to be loads of fun! Lessons always provided amazing distractions.
Carefully Lux listened to the last story before raising her hand. "I am also going with tarot cards. Death is one of the cards used in tarot readings, but it represents change and rebirth, not actual death. It think that works well with the Chamber opening." This one was a toughie!!

......................... he was lost. Lost in a whirlwind of thoughts, fantasies and reflections. AKA, he was having trouble following.
Story time... was kinda okay, but kinda boring at the same time. Didn't the Professor's known that stories made one sleepy? Hhhmm? Still, he supposed it beat doing any ACTUAL work. He could sit and listen, or TRY to listen at least. All this ancient stuff and divination stuff with history was difficult to follow though, so even as everyone was giving answers, he wasn't sure he understood what they were saying.
Maybe when the activity bit came up he'd know better? He was more hands on than anything else. He only hoped it wouldn't involve dressing up or performing or something...
Sitting up a little straighter in his seat, Zeke listened... tarot things were.. what now?
By this point, Toby sort of had his head down on the desk. Just because of the negative sort of vibes and how every now and then they got a little bit overwhelming, and sometimes it was just easier to literally put your head down and ignore it 'til it all went away.
And... it seemed to be getting there, at least, so Toby sloooooowly lifted his head back up and peered back at the professors. Okay. Next question. Okay.
"Could be tarot cards, yeah..." the Hufflepuff said, remembering at the last moment to put his hand up in the air. "That makes most sense, 'cause of the whole fortune thing. But then... are tarot card readings done for one person in particular, or as a general vision sort of thing?" He had a train of thought there, but found it difficult to really vocalise it, and so abandoned that point entirely before moving on. "And I think you'd be likely to see a general image of death and danger in a crystal ball... but from the story I don't think it was that easy to see. And people dismiss tarot cards easily, don't they? Like, quicker than they do other methods, I guess. Maybe because it's not as... as spectacular as other methods, like scrying or whatever. So... probably a tarot card reading."

Tarot cards seemed to be a popular choice, but Tobias actually had a pretty good point. Didn't you have to have the person sitting in front of you to get a good read? She was pretty sure that you also had to have them touch the cards at some point too. Not that she believed in the whole tarot card thing, but her mind was open to it since Cassie proved herself.
What else was there though? An idea came to mind but it wasn't actually a method. Or was it? Deciding that she would take a stab at it anyways, she raised her hand. "Is there a method using your dreams?" Like, he could have dreamed the whole thing, and then it came true. Or she could be totally wrong.

Once again most everyone gave the same answer. She either needed to stop taking notes and focus on the questions or continue her notes and allow those around her to answer. Note taking was good though...she might need these notes.
The talk of Tarot cards peeked her interest though and for a brief moment had hand stilled, quill dangling just over her parchment. Would they be working with cards or something today? She'd like to learn how to read them it seemed like fun. At least this was the last story right?
Maaaaajor sighing. Rorie was being SASSY even in her departure, AND Professor Glendower wasn't rude but...not being as understanding as Eden had preciously thought she could be >,< Ugh.
And yes, she remembered, MANY months ago, telling Rorie Professor Morgan was the sweetest professor here...and that Rorie should go talk to her..welll...UGH. NONE OF IT WAS WORKING OUT. And Eden's head didn't liiiiiiiike this. SO she just nodded and kept quiet, brooding silently in her notebook. She didn't even want to answer the next question. She was hardly even paying attention, now, but doodling away.
She looked up at Bambi.....and gave her BIG, WIDE EYES. "Donotleaveme-" she hissed under her breath, hoping Bambi heard that.
What was going on?
Ugh.
Her mojo was completely thrown off. And she felt her mind slipping away....

Bambi felt like a preteen again, being told off for sticking up for what she thought was right. Except that she WASN'T twelve any more, and firmly held her belief that the Divination professor was in the wrong despite what Professor Glendower was saying. Her actions irritated Bambi just as much as Quigley and Bellaire had, the only difference being she was no longer new.
Bambi stayed silent and weighed her options. The girl she'd stuck up for had left. She'd already gone the extra mile, she could leave and have two hours free to do whatever she pleased because it was rather obvious that this class wasn't going to be her most productive. She was too distracted and angry for any sort of proper learning.
But on the other hand, she was a seventh year and whatever her Professors thought of her now could very well impact her future. Not so much Divination - she scoffed, because no one in her possible line of work would take anything a Divination teacher said seriously - but Professor Glendower looked like a serious woman. Bambi had worked so hard to get all the Professors here to like her, she didn't want to completely botch it all by stomping out of the classroom. She'd bet whatever bad things happened during lessons were gossip material back in the staff room and she really didn't want to make it onto that list.
Fiiiiiiine. Looks like she was staying. At least she had Eden next to her, who'd remarked upon the unfairness as well. Pouting and staring intently at her meager notes, Bambi picked up her quill and twisted it over and over in her hand as people continued to answer questions around her. Eden had been a little nicer about the whole thing, but the blonde found it difficult to really feel any remorse. She'd probably regret it later though, most likely during the next History of Magic lesson.
She sighed, and slid further down her seat when she heard a little hiss from Eden. Turning, she caught the wide eyes and couldn't help but feel just a little bit better about the whole thing. Thank GOODNESS Eden was here. She shook her head and discreetly wrote at the bottom of her parchment, "can't get rid of me that easily."
What were they talking about anyways? Tarot cards? Fascinating. It took SO much talent you see, flipping pretty cards over "to tell the future". Hmpf.

Tia had been steadfast taking notes because although she was alright with the history stuff it was mostly memorization, it was the Divination that seemed to give her fits.
Listening to the last story, the fourth year scratched absently at her temple as she contemplated what Professor Glendower had said. Tarot cards, was something people seemed to think he used, but there were other options for readings, the fourth year knew. None of them she placed high standards on, but that was besides the point.
"Sight. I think the Divination professor used the gift of sight, perhaps similar to a prophecy made about what was about to happen, because as we know from history, it wouldn't be the first time a prophetic sight was dismissed and something bad happened," Tia said after raising her hand.

Cassie was flustered after that, she couldn't help but be. She had already felt off from personal things and now the students weren't seeming to want to keep the positivity. She wasn't good at handling being mean, but she had to remove the child before the negativity sucked them all in. Frowning as others started to comment she was glad to have Nessa in the room. She wasn't sure what she would have done if she would have been alone. Honestly she dearly loved her students, but if they really felt that harshly about being here and were just here to get attention and disrupt then why bother signing up, it was an elective after all.
Listening to the students answer she smiled at a few, they were here because they wanted to be. She knew that and she knew they were all so good at what they did. It was quite impressive how well they could do each form since starting at school. Then there was Bambi and Eden. Her eyes shifted towards Eden, never had she any issues with the Ravenclaw, a star pupil in all honesty. What was going on today, the vibes were off. This just wasn't good.
Hearing the story, Cassie went and poured herself another cup of tea. She just needed it, maybe everyone did. When the story was over her green eyes turned to the class as they started to raise their hands.

"I expect he had his own snap cup that he used, so he could read stuff out of the tea that was left at the bottom."
"Yes dear that was exactly what happened. Unfortunately this subject is not loved by all. Some truly believe it and truly understand it, they accept that things are given to us in signs and in forms of Divination. The ones that don't, well they don't listen, they think it's rubbish and then this sort of stuff happens." Her eyes moved around the room not as sparkly as usual. Her tone not peppy and no snaps were coming. "It is sad when things happen, we all have to accept them and move from them, but we all need to listen and learn as well." She wasn't going to hit on the actual chamber much more. She knew that the death a few months ago was still very fresh and her eyes moved towards Zander hoping he was alright. "He did not have a snap cup, the snapcup is not for reading the future it is for bringing positive vibes." She snaps a little, but the snapcup fail wasn't something she was happy about either.

The Hufflepuff felt sorry for old Dippet if whatever form of Divination it was he used had indeed been the prediction of the Chamber of Secrets incident. But Adi could hardly blame him. Sometimes he wasn't so sure if he believed in all of these Divinary methods.
Looking to the next student she gave a small smile to Adi, [b] "Yes very good, the headmaster was given a tarot Card reading by the Diviner, he of course didn't listen to the cards that were brought to his attention, but Tarot Cards have been around for centuries to predict things going on in someones lives and the future.

Um um. Uuuuummm. They'd already done the kitty one and tea leaves, so what was left? Norah put a hand in the air, because she might was well participate. "Was it scrying? Like, with a crystal ball or...something?" She gave the professors a small smile, 'cause the energy in the room wasn't NEARLY was fun as it'd been when she'd skipped in. Well, as fun as she'd thought it was, anyways. Maybe the should just go for cupcake early.
Hearing another students response she turned her eyes onto Norah, "Crystal Ball is a very good guess. Many seers like to use crystal balls, they give a very accurate reading of future things, but it takes full concentration and so much positive energy that at times people would rather use tea leaves or tarot cards instead. Very good response though."

Ror faked a woeful pout at them and moved to shove her stuff into her bag, raising an eyebrow at the seventh year speaking up for her. She'll admit it made her smile, but on the other hand, she didn't want to get blamed for another revolution gone wrong. Haven't you heard, girl? Rorie Hazelwood is a shame to this school. Boo-hoo-hoo.
Flipping her hair onto one side and swinging her bag over the other, Ro made her way to the exit. Her parents will just have to understand she just didn't have the inner eye.
SIIIIIIIGH, more sighing was going on with this one. She didn't like to be mean, but she wasn't going to let students interrupt her class in the way that some had been doing today. There was only one to ever disrupt like this and she had graduated, so now why were more. She wanted to turn and tell her to stop by her office, but too late she was gone. Maybe she'd go find her later.. maybe.

Ethan was the next with a hand up and she gave another smile, "You are correct Ethan. Though there are many forms that have fortune with them, but Tarot Cards were the form used at this time."

"You are correct in that Lux, it does at some points mean rebirth which could be interrupted in reopening, but depending on the place of the card it can mean danger and death. So either way you look at it, it could have been a warning." There was many ways to interpret cards, which made Tarot readings even more difficult.

And... it seemed to be getting there, at least, so Toby sloooooowly lifted his head back up and peered back at the professors.
Her smile did widen with Toby, such a thoughtful and interested child. "Yes you are right it was Tarot Cards." She nodded as he questioned, "They do, but it shows things directly around them that will in fact put their own life path into change. When that chamber was open think about how that had to have changed the Headmaster, he would have been worried for all the students, he would have changed his own knowledge, his own routines to figure things out. So in the end the tarot card was just his reading, but his reading would have shown things to come for all of the school." It was interesting how things connected together. That was what she loved about the subject most. "Great thoughts about the Crystal Ball and you are right. The only thing that people dismiss more then Tarot Cards is palm readings." Shame too they were both so accurate.

What else was there though? An idea came to mind but it wasn't actually a method. Or was it? Deciding that she would take a stab at it anyways, she raised her hand. "Is there a method using your dreams?" Like, he could have dreamed the whole thing, and then it came true. Or she could be totally wrong.
Now this was a very interesting answer. She was excited for something different. "Dreams are a longer process, you can't just do that in one sitting. You can, but to be more accurate you want to do a few dreams and put them together." It was an excellent question though.

Another very good answer, Cassie was starting to feel a bit better again with all the positive insightful answers. "A seer would be a good answer, they do have prophecies and can be very helpful, but during this moment the Divination professor didn't do any sight. Very good answer though."
Moving to the table of supplies she picked up the cards and setting her tea down. "Now as Professor Glendower said there was death which was the death card and a crisis, which was the tower card. Depending on where you look at and how you interpret the death card it can mean rebirth or new beginning which could be looked at positive or negative in the way of the Chamber, though it can also mean exactly what it is. With Tarot Cards there are a few different ways to read them. The most common is the three card spread. Taking the first three cards after shuffling and turning them over." Cassie did this as she spoke.
"Now open your books to page 102 and it will start with the meanings of the major arcana set. Now if you look I pulled a Hermit, a Chariot, and the lovers. If I was going to do a reading I would know that the Hermit is a card that means peace and solitude so the person I was doing the reading on might want or need more alone time. Something might be bothering them or they might be trying to figure something out, so some time to think would be best. The Chariot means getting what you want, a possible struggle, so that with the Hermit might be showing why the person needs to have the alone time. Possibly to figure out what they want. The last is the lovers card and yes before all the giggles start, many believe it means love, but it does not just mean love. It means choice, so with this card you could be finding something that you just can't live without at that moment, so it could be a person, could be a place, could be a pair of awesome shoes." She smiled at them all thinking of all her fabulous shoes. "Though with the other two cards I'd say it could be possibly about a person. So in the entire reading I'd say that the person needs some time alone to think about what they really want, maybe it is about buying a pair of great shoes they fell in love with or maybe it is a person and their true feelings."
She placed the card back on the table and turned to the class, "Now that we've had some fun with our little game, Professor Glendower and I want to have some fun with time periods. So over there you will find a trunk full of clothes from the different time periods. You are going to pair up and decide if you want to be Egyptians, Gypsies, the minster, the headmaster, or Divinators. After deciding which time period you are going to do, you will then act it out as we talked about in the stories, but do actual readings on each. Remember if you are doing the Egyptian time then you do cat readings, Minister and the Gypsy you will do tea leaves, and if you are doing the headmaster you will do tarot cards. Have fun with this and make sure you record all your work. You will have the rest of class to finish."
Picking up her tea she took a few sips of it again. Hopefully the activity will go better then the actually game had, she was so hopefully that students would really enjoy the game.
ooc: As Cassie said you are going to pair up for this activity and pick one of the stories, your charries will do those type of readings as the story talked about on each other. You will just do one. If it is the cat, each will pick a cat and act out doing the reading as well as what it means. The lesson will go until Friday at 9 p.m. EST, you need five good post to get full credit for the activity. The professors are there if you need them. Have fun

Finally! He had gotten an answer correct! But Adi did notice Professor Cassie’s change when that Slytherin girl (Rorie) kept giving attitude. But hey, the Professors handled it well and he wasn’t sorry to see her go. No need for interruptions in the class.
The Hufflepuff focused his attention on Morgan, watching her do the Tarot Card reading and following that cards’ meaning from his textbook. Tarot reading seemed so much easier, didn’t it? So did tea leaf reading. Merlin, ANYTHING was better than Crystal gazing though if he kept practicing that would change. Hopefully.
Anyway, he needed a partner! Who to choose, who to choose? Adi’s eyes found his girlfriend. Yes, she’d make an awesome partner. She always did. “AJ,’’ he called cheerfully to her as he approached. “Care to be my partner? You can choose which era we work with.’’ Wasn’t he such a good boyfriend? Hehe.
It didn't even MATTER that she was wrong, 'cause it was activity time! And activity time was one step closer to cupcake time, which Norah considered to be very important, thank you very much. Plus she could to dress up as something COOL. Like a gypsy! Could she be a gypsy pretty pretty please? That'd be awesome, and she'd get to drink tea and everything! Snagging one last strawberry before she stood, the third year embarked on her next hunt: where oh where could a partner be?
Oh hey! Norah spotted Lux's mermaid-y hair from a few meters away and immediately proceeded to skip in her direction. It'd been a while, but it didn't even MATTER, them Puffers had to stick together. Plus she was nice. And had cool hair. So. Nothing to lose, right? "D'ya want to work with me?" Please? She grinned at the older girl and crossed her fingers behind her back. Pretty please?
