The Birthday Party

"Cale, wake up! It's your birthday!"

Cale lifted his head off his pillow and gave his mother a very confused look. Did she honestly not know that his birthday had been two months ago? It seemed that way. She was standing there at the foot of his bed, holding a tray with 3 pancakes stacked one on top of the other, beaming at him. He glanced at the clock very quickly--it was 7:30 AM.

"Mum, are you off your rocker? My birthday was October 23rd, and it's..."

"December 23rd," his mother said, placing the tray on the edge of the bed. "It's the first time you haven't been home on your birthday, and I figured, we could celebrate it now while you're home from break!"

He just blinked up at her. She really was off her rocker. "Mum, you don't need to have a celebration for me. Really, you don't," he told her.

"Oh, don't be silly, you're sixteen now! It's not everyday my little boy turns sixteen!"

Groaning, he buried his face in his pillow. Thank goodness Shel and the other guys weren't there to witness this embarrassing conversation. "We've been over this...I'm a man now, remember!"

Ignoring her son's comment, she headed towards the door, leaving his breakfast on the edge of the bed. "Now, hurry up. Theresa and Ellie got your presents out and Ezra is making you a cake. I expect you downstairs in ten minutes!"

After she left and closed the door, he pulled the covers over his head. He was very tempted to go downstairs just for the presents, but his mother had said that Ezra was making his cake, and that could never be good.

Two hours later, Cale had not only fallen back asleep, but also knocked the tray of his breakfast on the floor with his foot in his sleep. The noise of the crash was not what had woken him up, however. It was something entirely more annoying.

"Hey! Prefect! Get up, Mum says we don't have all day!"

Groaning yet again, he lifted his head off his pillow to find a very startling sight--Ezra in an apron with oven mitts. Glaring at her, he pulled the covers over his head. "I have a name you know. And for Merlin's sake, call her Beth. She's not your mum."

He could practically feel her roll her eyes at him as she yanked the covers off of him with surprising force. "Fine. BETH says to get your butt out of bed NOW. Trust me, it's not like I want to celebrate Mr. Perfect Prefect's birthday. I had a real party to go to today."

"Oh no, I ruined your day. I feel just terrible," he mumbled sarcastically, finally getting up off the bed.

"Whatever. Just get downstairs and open your stupid presents. Maybe I'll actually have time to go to my party if we get this thing over with quickly," she said. As she went to walk out the door, she glanced at mess of breakfast that was on his floor. "Don't forget to clean up your mess!" she added cheerfully as she left.

"You know, you could be nice for a change and do it for the birthday boy," he told her with a scowl.

She stopped and turned on her heel, looking back at him with a shocked look upon her face. After a moment or two of silence, she burst into laughter. "Thanks Mr. Perfect Prefect, that actually made me feel a lot better!"

And with that, she slammed the door with such force, a few of his pictures fell off the wall.

His Mom is soooo funny! Having a birthday party two months later. And she even made him pancakes! Oh noes! Ezra baking a cake - FOR CALE?! That's gotta be dangerous! I love the way he says that he's a man now! That's SO Cale! And Ezra - Just when I thought she MAY be baking him a cake just to be nice, she goes completely nuts on him in the second part! Anna Greingoth: *glares at her*

And awwww! He wrote Anna back! I can't wait for Flying Class and Hogsmeade!

His mom is crazy Cale doesn't like parties He liked Anna's present better than anything he got, even better than the shoes

The Breakup

Cale was ecstatic.

When he had headed out to Reese's house for a small party, he had been expecting to see one of his closest friends, and then be ignored by a bunch of Slytherin girls he didn't know. But that didn't turn out to be the case at all. Not only was he reunited with Reese, but also with Anna and Cora. At the same time.

This obviously led to some problems. But let's start at the beginning.

Josh Monsoon had also shown up. Cale didn't have a problem with Josh, he really didn't--until he started flirting with Anna. Or maybe he wasn't flirting, it was kind of hard for Cale to tell. He had kind of flipped out and went into that egotistically jerk mode, and pulled Anna off the dance floor. Right out of Josh's arms. This lead to one of their fighting matches again, only this time it didn't end so bad.

They ended up spilling their inner most feelings to each other. As cheesy as it sounds, that was exactly what happened. It felt so refreshing to get everything off his chest--the feelings he had had inside for months were finally out in the open, and it felt even better to know that she felt the exact same way about him.

Of course, all those happy feelings were being drowned by the overwhelming heartache and depression he was feeling.

After talking to Anna, he found Cora staring at them from across the room, and that was when he knew that he had to stop this right now before it got too far. And that was exactly what he had done.

It was one of the hardest things he had done in his life. Telling her that they couldn't be together felt like stabbing a knife in his heart, and when she started crying all over him, it felt like he she was ripping his heart right out of his chest. But as he held her in his arms, telling her to stop crying and that it was all for the best, he knew that it really WAS all for the best. He knew she was hurting, but that would not be nearly as bad as she would hurt if he kept this going any longer.

He hoped they could be friends. He really still did care about her, no matter what she thought at the moment. She would heal, just as he would...all she needed was time.

But now his conscious was clear. No more feeling guilty about his feelings for Anna while being with Cora. No more waiting and praying that Josh didn't get to her first.

He loved her.

She loved him.

They hadn't said that to each other yet, but he knew. He could tell she felt that way about him.

Everything was starting to work itself out now.

So Canna is officially together now?? YAY!
I love it when ipeople get into giant fights and then are like well I love you" "well I love you too!" hehe

After I read Ezra was making at cake for Cale,the word 'poison' popped into my head.I hope Cale doesn't die...Or Ezra will have to put up with Reese*nods*

OMG.Reese's party.It turned out to have more Drama than Dancing.But,it was fun.A LOT of RPingAnd I was glad Reese was reunited with Cale...and all her other guy friends.

The Flying Lesson

Cale really needed to get this clumsiness thing checked out. No one was this clumsy. There had to be something physically wrong with him.

During the boy/girl flying lesson (Sssh! Don't tell that Wystan lady!) Cale had finally be reuinted with Anna after the terrible sickness he had had the previous few weeks. That stupid flu had caused him to miss Quidditch AND two Hogsmeade weekends, which he was not happy about. Anyways, Anna had walked in, dressed like a guy, and he was pretty sure she hadn't recognized him at first. Tee hee. Silly Anna.

But during the lesson, he made a fool of himself, as usual. He had been tossing the quaffle between his hands, and the POOF! It was gone. Turns out he had overshot a little and thrown the ball past his left hand, and then he had to go chasing after it. That must have been hilarious for everyone to watch. To make it worse, Vindictus scared the living daylights out of him and he went crashing straight into Anna. At first, he had been SO scared that he had hurt her, and then he got scared that he knocked her teeth out, but she had been joking with him. She found the whole situation very amusing, actually.

All and all, the whole lesson was a disaster to Cale's ego. The biggest crush would probably have been the cookies that caused uncontrollable bodily gases.

He had been planning on not telling Anna about his sudden gas releases, but a Hufflepuff boy ratted him out. Oh well, he figured she would have figured out what was happening to the boys sooner or later, what with the way that poor Ryan was practically shooting through the air on his broom due to their...problem. He had trusted Vindictus and his cookies, since the Hufflepuff captain had brought them in the first place, but now, Cale was certain he was never ever EVER going to eat another thing that came from a professor ever again. Ministry OR Hogwarts.

But, seeing Anna again had been the highlight of his day. He had been so happy to see her, in fact, and so disappointed by the fact that he couldn't hug her, that he decided, the second he got back to his dorm, that he was going to ask her the next time they were at Hogsmeade. And then, once he took her...wherever they were going, he hadn't thought that far ahead, he was going to ask her to be his girlfriend.

But don't tell anyone...it's a surprise!

I cannot wait until Hogsmeade either...hm...Reese needs to meet up with Cale.She hasn't told him about her moving to London or Reno.

I loooooooved this update!!!! That was one MEMORABLE flying lesson, so of course it deserved its OWN chapter!!!

Me: *giggles loudly at reading about Cale running into Anna*
Anna: *pushes me away* What?!?! What's he saying?
Me: *pushes her off me* "It's the flying lesson chapter..."
...few seconds later
Me: *louds extremely loud reading about Cale's little "problem."
Anna: *perks up* What is it THIS time?!?! Tell me! Tell me!
Me: Fine. It was about his little problem.
Anna: *falls out in laughter*
...ten seconds later
Me: *reads part about next Hogsmeade* "Awwwwww! How SWEET!!!"
Anna: What?!?! WHAT?!?! Tell me NOW!!!!

Anna: "I hate reading Cale stories with you"...

The First Date

So, Cale didn't get to ask Anna to be his girlfriend. But a few good things DID happen this past Hogsmeade weekend!

For one, Allie, the little Beater on the Gryffindor team who had nearly killed Cale earlier in the week (Don't worry, he just broke his nose!) gave him a very lovely manicure. His nails weren't neon green or anything, like he had feared, but they did have a very manly heart on each thumbnail, with "AG+CN" written on the inside. He was very impressed by her manicure skills and how she had managed to fit such little writing on the inside.

Of course, after he finished his manicure, he was about to leave when he saw Cora. EEEEEK! And he had "AG+CN" written on his nails. Awkward!

And that was exactly how it was. Awkward.

But just as he had been about to leave with Reese, Cora grabbed his arm and asked if they could be friends. So of course, he said yes. He did, truly, want to be friends with her. It was just going to take some time, that was all.

After all that madness had finished, Cale finally got to meet up with Anna!

First of all, she had gotten all dolled up for their first date, complete with skirt and everything. Seeing her all dressed up like that, simply for him, made his heart flutter and skip a beat. This time, he wasted no time grabbing her hand on their way to Madame Puddifoot's. And when he got there, he had intended on not wasting any time getting to the kissing either. After all, he had been dying to kiss her since November, at least. He was going to die if he didn't kiss her soon!

But, being the lucky guy that he is, he just HAD to do something stupid first.

He managed to not only fall out of his stationary chair, but he also dumped ice cold water on Anna's lap and caused her to hit her forehead.

After everything calmed down, he finally managed to redeem himself and went in for the kiss.

This time, no one tripped, spilled anything, or bumped into one another. It was perfect. It was everything that Cale had dreamt of and more. Kissing Anna was the highlight of his entire life (up to this day, of course) and absolutely nothing could have ruined his day.

Ok, there was probably ONE thing.

Thorton. That miserable, fat, smelly, ogrish excuse for a man. He just HAD to come in and ruin everyone's fun. The nerve of that old loony! He thought he was better than everyone else...someone needed to stand up to that buffoon!

And that was exactly what a Hufflepuff girl did, and she got shot down immediately, and moments later, Cale's mouth just had to join in the fight too. He didn't mean to imply that the man was filth--but he did. It was a Freudian Slip, I swear!

Anna, coming to his aid, jumped into the fight too, but before Thorton had time to respond, it was almost curfew, and they were all being ushered back to their schools. Cale didn't even have time to say goodbye to Anna. All he saw before they left of that old man was ANGER. It was written all over his face.

Cale was going to be punished. Severely. No, not even punished, Thorton would have him murdered. He'd probably order Borr to sit on him or something.

Well, at least Cale will die knowing what it's like to kiss Anna Greingoth!

That is what Thorton will probably do.
