Hey Welcome to Snitchseeker, all that... Anyway, I'm Kristin, and one of your friendly mods of the month, representing August. And I'm writing this at almost 3 am, so excuse any babbling. xD
A little about me and SS: I've been a member here since December 2007, joining upon the suggestion of another member of Snitchseeker who I'd become friends with on Dissendium.com, and been involved here ever since. Starting with the RPs, where I had two terms as the Ravenclaw prefect, then one as Quidditch Captain. And when the Diagon Alley RP started, I joined that as first a shopkeeper assistant at Gringotts, then moved on to shopkeeper of Madame Malkin's, which I still am now, along with the supervisor of the north side of the street. I also am involved in the Ministry RP, as a member of the department of Magical Law Enforcement, and have been the Divination professor in the school RP for the last two terms.
Outside of the RPs, I'm also one of your lovely mods right here in Platform 9 3/4, and I wrote for the site magazine (and was head writer for), Seeker of the Snitch, until it was dissolved fairly recently due to time issues. I'm also the sponsor of the Arthur and Molly Weasley fan club, and am a member of quite a few others.
In case you haven't figured it out by now (or noticed my tag), I'm a bit of an RP addict, but luckily that only began after I was done with schooling. Yes, I am an adult, with a bachelor's degree in art, emphasis in art history. Although, I don't use my degree much, seeing as I'm a lowly sales assistant at the Kohl's near my house. My house where I sadly live with my mother (who doesn't appreciate my being just this side of an insomniac) and my cat, Hermione. I love to write/create the multitude of characters who populate my brain, read (of course), watch television/see movies, draw... I've known how to cross-stitch, crochet and knit for a while now but haven't actually created anything lately...
Now to set you loose. Feel free to ask me anything, and I'll try to answer the best I can. (There are some types of questions I struggle with. Just to warn you) And definitely, have fun and keep aware of the rules. Wouldn't want to start things off on the wrong foot.

Actually, I don't have to choose. At least RP-wise. Here on SS, I've played Chaser and Beater, and I'd have to say I think those are my favorite positions. *nods* Although I think it's awesome that Quidditch exists in RL as well.

Why yes I am, as mentioned earlier. After a lot of stress and issues.

In a slightly unrelated to HP comment, are you struggling with your liberal arts degree? Not to be impolite, but I'm a theatre major and hoping it looks up.

Oh, it's not impolite. Not really. It depends on how you would define struggling. Obviously I have a job (although it really has nothing to do with my degree), but in the same respect, I haven't been able to do anything that actually does use my degree.
And actually, considering I want to go into costume design, it seems we really do have similar problems.
Text Cut: please try and include questions

Hi all of you
Why thank you, rupeysoupy. I'm flattered that you would think that, but I really don't know any more than anyone else who's been around SS for as long (or longer) than me.
Not quite, WitchLight27. But it's nice to meet you.
And thank you, Christinamac11.

Is your hamster very Ron-like? (my Hermione seems to like annoying me when I'm reading)
And I'm not sure if I really have a favorite thing to draw. Oddly enough when I took drawing classes, I enjoyed drawing drapery (I was the only one to use pencil, when everyone else used charcoal for its blending properties, and yet I still got mine looking realistic.), but I haven't really had a lot of chances to draw anything lately.

It really depends. A lot of people just go about with their own little RP plots, in the three main RPs on site (Hogwarts, Ministry and Diagon Alley). But we also have helpful threads to keep track of important information regarding the RP main plotlines, so I find it pretty easy to at least follow the basic ideas.

I just thought I'd say hi and introduce myself. I'm also a college grad (Business), but I've probably got 10+ years on you. I wonder what your favorite Harry Potter quote is?
Mine is the classic "You're a Wizard Harry!"
Gives me goosebumps!

My thoughts on Pottermore? That it's going to be awesome and yet another way for us to continue living in the HP world. (SS is, obviously, another one of those ways). And as a matter of fact, yes I am.

Hope to go. It's difficult, not having the funds to travel across country, but WWoHP is definitely on my list of places I want to go. Along with England/Ireland/Scotland/Wales, France and Italy.

Interesting question. I'm not really sure, but I think I'd like to take Charms, Transfiguration or DADA. They just seems so interesting as subjects (And I actually would enjoy the aspect of DADA when they learned about the creatures and such)

Well, and my parents had a cat before/when I was born, named Siesel (not really sure on the spelling), but I don't remember it.

I love what I do though, and living here in Orlando has its perks If you havn't been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter yet, Its amazing
At least you found us now, right? And welcome to the Snitchseeker family.
I think that career thing is, unfortunately, more common than not. But I have to admit I'm just a bit jealous that you live in Orlando. Near WWoHP. Most likely I wouldn't like the weather though.

Nice to meet you. And to be completely honest, I'm not really sure I have a favorite quote. All of the books and movies are just so amazing. (Plus, I've always had a hard time settling on favorite anythings.)
That's a good quote. *nods* On the list.

hi silvertiger, im loving yr cats name. i have 5 cats none of them with any h.p names though...how old are you...? do you like living with yr mum still?
Hello
My question concerns the RP. I've never played any but look forward to. But how does it work? (How many people are there? Do we have to spend a certain amount of time? etc.)
Hi,
I was wondering if you have a picture of your cat, Hermione. I have a black domestic shorthair, his name is Kibbitz and he'll be 10 years old at the end of this month.
