Well hello there! My name is Kelvin (yep....like the degree scale), and I'm one of your mods for this month's Meet __________ section.
I've been a member of Snitchseeker for almost 4.5 years now after being dragged into it by my friend Alyssa (who no longer visits the site, unfortunately). She knew I loved Harry Potter and forced strongly encouraged me to join. Four and a half years later, here I am!
When I first joined, I didn't really do much. I was sorted into Ravenclaw and made a character (who I didn't play for a while) and that was about it. But after about 7 months on the site, I became really interested in the role play (which, at the time, was...oh gosh, what term was that? It was the term where Hogwarts was taken over by Pierre...was that Baby Cries?) Anyway, in my time as a student, I played Ryan Lee, who was apparently a Ravenclaw stud. I played quidditch for a few terms and captained the Ravenclaw team for two terms until I was hired to the school staff to teach Charms (I was also the editor/graphics guru/adviser to the SS School Yearbook for a while). I taught Charms for a year IRL, and decided to step down because I was getting too busy with college.
I now currently moderate the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes (Games), Madame Malkin's (Graphics and Art) forums and the Social Groups feature, and I love it!
As for my life away from SS, I'm a 20 year-old (21 next month WOOT) university student from California studying Psychology and Social Behavior (with intended minors in Education and Asian American Studies). I play taiko (Japanese drumming) and volleyball and uhhhhhhhhhhh ask to find out more?
Oh, I'm also procrastinating on writing a paper right now.
Ask away! (And remember to follow all SS Rules) |

I was going to ask what house you were in, but it says that you are a Ravenclaw, so I'll change it up a bit. If you could voluntarily pick a house, (if HP was real) would you stay in Ravenclaw or would you change houses?

Nothing against the other houses, but it feels like home. |

I agree, I couldn't picture myself in any other house. Ravenclaw rules.
Ok, so I haven't bothered you in awhile. Hm.
If you were King of the World what is the first thing you would do?

If you were King of the World what is the first thing you would do? I would fund research to find a cure for peanut allergies. It pains me that people cannot fully enjoy a peanutbutter and fluff sandwich. |

Did you ever regret joining SS because it could possibly take away from school work?

I'm not going to lie and say I'm always amazing at balancing and I'm perfect, but being on SS has really enriched my life, as cheesy as it sounds. |

I had heard a lot about the books, but because they were about magic, I thought they were for girls only. But one day I was really bored and picked up the first book, and I ended up finishing it in 3 days (which was fast for me when I was 10). I was hooked.
As far as when I joined SS, my friend practically forced me to join in September of 2006 so she would have a friend here on the site. So I joined, and like most things I've joined in life, I stuck with it and my friend didn't. haha.

Hey there! If you're still in Japan, just know you've got tons and tons and billions of prayers going out to your country and your country's people right now. God Bless.

God Bless. I was never in Japan, but I do appreciate the sentiment. I have friends who still cannot find/contact their loved ones abroad. I can't imagine what they're going through. Luckily, everyone I know personally who is in Japan is accounted for. Shaken up, but safe and accounted for.

Honestly, I have no idea. I have a lot of commitments outside of SS and academics as well, and I honestly have no idea how things get done. I lose a lot of sleep? *shrug*
But I just finished finals today. I'm on Spring Break y'all! |

Hi Kelvin! My name is Lynn and I have been reading your bio here. It definitely sounds like you lead a full an interesting life. My question is, if Willy Wonka were a wizard, which house do you think he would have been sorted into and why? Also, do you think that Willy would make better chocolates than Honeyduke's?

This is a toughie. I think, actually, I would have to say Slytherin. I can't help but think he's actually deceptively evil (not to say that all Slytherins are evil, but they definitely have that stigma and I can't actually really justify my answer other than it's what I feel with my gut). lol
I dunno. I feel like Honeyduke's would make better chocolate. I just imagine their chocolate being so sweet and creamy. |

: ) As in have I gone for midnight premiers? Yep. I actually saw OotP a week before it premiered (thank you, Myspace) and I saw HBP at midnight. I didn't want to go see DH.1 at midnight though....I HATE the midnight crowds. I want to watch a movie to enjoy the movie, not to listen to the audience ruin the movie.
Never watched it, TBH. I've heard good things, but I don't really have the time to look for it online and then sit down and watch it. |
