Hiya everyone!
My name's Chris and I have the pleasure to be your mod of the month for November
Let us see... a little bit about myself. SS-wise, I am the Head Moderator for WWW (Weasley's Wizard Wheezes) aka the Games Forum. I am also a Romanian language moderator and President of the Sirius Black fan club.
Outside of SS, I'm a university student who enjoys travelling, learning foreign languages, writing, making friends... the usual. To find out more, go ahead and ask me a question. Granted that it's not too personal and that you follow the SS rules when posting, I will be more than happy to provide an answer.
Looking forward to your questions |

I would have to say Lily Evans, though. Like her, I was also popular, loyal to my friends and had good results in school. And we also share a zodiac sign (Aquarius) - so that helps too. I always found zodiac traits mighty interesting and mostly true
As for the other kind of books, well, as long as they're good quality, I like pretty much any type. But just for illustration, I particularly like authors such as Peter Beagle, Iris Murdoch, Carson McCullers, Tolkien, etc. I prefer books with a heart. Quote:

'Course I don't mind! I'm currently fluent in four languages (English, French, Spanish and Romanian) and I also understand most of Italian. Had a brief stint in my younger days when I tried to learn an Elvish language too And I think Japanese is a great language! Good luck with learning it =)
Unfortunately, I don't play any instruments. Always wanted to learn how to play the piano, though. Maybe one day I will!

Woow, I haven't been here since my newbie days.
Okay, here comes my question:
Apart from the languages you're fluent at, are you learning any now? And what language else would you like to learn?

I'm currently still working on perfecting my French. Last year I was in France on an exchange programme so let's say that I've been dedicating the past two years of my life to French. But I would really like to learn Portuguese, German and Russian. Let's just hope I find the time ^^

I belonged only to the SBFC for a long time because I tend to be like that; develop this crazy loyalty for one thing and stick to it. But afterwards I joined more fanclubs and met lots of nice people in there too so it was good in the end. To answer your question, though, Sirius will always be number one for me |

Hi Chris! Good luck with learning French. My history with the French language is a pretty long one lol but I've been taking courses for about 5 years now, and it's great!
Question: Is there a special meaning behind your username?

Regarding my username, actually, most people assume that I chose it because of Sirius Black (my favourite HP character). That's not true. I actually chose it because at the time when I joined my brother happened to be in a rock band. The name of the band was Blackened, and I liked the sound of it so that's how I got my username. =)

Okay. So I've got a question for ya. I asked this question before for my MotW interview thingie with Amy and I'm curious to know your answer to it. If you could trade bodies with one of the characters from the Harry Potter books for one day... who would it be and what would you do for that specific day while you were in that character's body?

I studied French in school for 8 years and I'm sad to say I'm a bit rusty after not using it for so long!
My question doesn't exactly relate to HP, but do you have any other favorite series of books? I've been reading the HP books over and over again (don't get me wrong, I loooove them, but I would like to read something new).

Becasue i want to start reading the books, but i cant get into the first one! Hmmm. I think for you to get the best HP reading experience, it'd be best to read them in order. The first book is a bit more descriptive, as it's meant to properly introduce you to the whole HP universe, but it's definitely worth getting into. So I would definitely advise you to read them in order if you can Quote:

I practised basketball throughout middle school and high school, and really liked it. And I also really like playing voleyball and badminton =) Quote:

I studied it for about the same time in school too and I was veeery rusty. But going to France changed that for me
I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy (and pretty much anything else by Tolkien) & I also recently got into the Sookie Stackhouse series. Quote:

And now that's a toughie!
I would probably choose to trade bodies for one day with Snape just around the time of the whole incident in OotP, and I would apologize to Lily for calling her a mudblood [/SeVans shipper] Quote:

That was the chapter that got me the most. And I also really liked the part where Harry marches towards what he expects to be his death. Very moving once again |

I did try my hand at that some time ago, but it mostly involved original characters in the HP universe, not canon character pairings per se. However, when I did read HP fanfiction, I loved reading about Ron/Hermione =)
