Nadia shook her head. "I don't think the ravens meant me, they might be meaning a person close to me... Anyway, well, I've been having health problems and, on the other hand, I don't stop having this horrible nightmares about sick friends, so the ravens are definitely in my way..."

She bit her lip. "I feel good right now, no need to go to the Hospital Wing, believe me. Let's continue."

She nodded to reassure everybody. ('Thanks, Shauna, I'm fine' she whispered.)

"So, what can a bunny mean?" she said offhandly.

-smiles at Nadia and turn her attention back to the Professor-

"A hare means good luck, as does a goat. A bunny is in the same family as a hare, so one can assume they mean one in the same thing."

She still looked concernedly at Nadia, but took her words for truth.

OOC - I have to leave now so I'm going to halt class until I can get back on.

Well how could there be a bad symbol, and a good symbol at the same time? It's like saying you broke your leg, but you'll live right?

Or it is like saying that something tragic will happen but the lesson learned will be important. Maybe the tragedy has to happen to produce a positive end result.

"It might be because the ravens describe what's going ot happen and the bunny a distinctive positive feeling, like hope. Or on the contrary we are getting lucky but have a dreadful feeling." She turned to the other girl. "I like the explanation. 'From the Tragedy a good thing will happen.' Or maybe the tragedy will happen, and afterwards, something good or positive..."


Nadia looked up again, trying to see an more of those birds. Has she mistaken them? Could it be that they were not ravens but another dark-colored bird?

She continued to look at the footprints, thinking the creature might not have been trapped, but maybe only dancing. There were footprints parallel with each other, as if the creature wasn't fighting but only jumping, she thought.

"I mean like this," she told Shauna. "See the round print there? it might be a talon, but it should have been a couple of dizzied gnomes to leave sucha partern -- look that,"

She said pointing a particular spot. "There's this particular print that is deeper than anybody else, like being of a heavier creature, but one alone.... it actually looks like pierced down into the earth, like the talon of a... bird. A huge bird, and only for seconds while the rest of it's footprints might have been erased. Or maybe only once touched the earth.... a... a harpy?"

Antwone walked on the edge of the forbiddden forest from Hogsmeage to the castle.

-looks at where Nadia is pointing- Ok, I see what you mean. -Shauna gently puts her fingers over the prints, not smearing them- They don't feel cold, but not too warm either. I think that these prints where made very recently.

Shannon looks over her shoulder and furrows her brow. I hope Nadia is ok, she thinks as she turns back to the tall grass she has been examining. She spots a small thin trail in the dirt, with a pattern that looks like it could have been made by an inchworm or a caterpillar. She draws the markings in her notes and continues looking, following the trail a short way. Out of the corner of her eye, and at the end of the trail she was following, she spots a cocoon. It gives a jerk and cracks open, and a butterfly emerges. It has beautiful blue and green wings, and a purple body. She draws the cocoon and butterfly at the end of the trail in her notes. "Wow, I've never seen that before!" she says out loud.

"Good Hermy, Nadia! That's very obersevant of you. The ravens whilst meaning pending illness, or current as the case may be, combined with the bunny, could mean that hard times must be dealt with but a positive outcome is quite possible."

She moved forward and examined the fresh patch of earth that Nadia was now bent over. "Any sharp image naturally represents something sudden that causes hurt or pain. That can be either physical or emotional; we cant really tell using Divination. I'd venture that together with the Ravens and Bunny, that might mean that illness is pending and a shock will occur that will hurt for a while but then everything will work out for the better. However, using this alone, I cannot be anymore specific. That is where the stars and the planets come into play. They are far more accurate for reading the future.

Dear me, I had thought this lesson would be fun, but it's turned to be rather more doom and gloom.

They do look to be made recently however, which only enphasises what I have said. Those occurances are going to be recent or soon." she sighed heavily and moved on.

Her attention was now turned to Shannon who appeared to be observing a caterpillar trail. She leapt a little as a beautiful butterfly emerged from a hidden cocoon. The Professor sighed in astonishment and crept up behind the student,

"Now, can you venture a guess as to what that might mean? The colours clearly indicate something very positive and it is also symbolic of renewal of life, a birth. Something fresh, something new. Possibly hinting that something new will come into your life? Something that will make it better, will make you happy? What do you think?"

"Hmm...I don't know, professor...Maybe my parents are..." She stops speaking. Talking of her parents still hurts because their fear of her had caused them to completely ignore her since she had left for wizard school. "...I don't know, professor..." she repeats quietly, looking down at her feet. "The only new thing I can think of sure isn't a happy one..."

"It's alright.." she whispered. "You don't have to discuss anything you don't want to. Just rest assured that I am certain that a happy and delightful surprise is due to come your way very shortly and very unexpectedly."

Shannon sniffs thru her tears, which she tries desperately to hide. "Thanks professor" she mutters as she creeps away behind a tree to dry her eyes.

After several minutes, she has finished crying, and realizes she doesn't hear anyone nearby, just a rustling noise, something like a breeze thru the trees. She thinks nothing of this, she is more scared that class has ended and she has been left behind in the forest. She snaps her head up from her knees and jumps quickly to her feet, intending on finding the rest of the class.

Instead, she finds herself face to face with another tree, completely covered by dozens and dozens of the same butterflies she had seen earlier. Apparently scared by Shannon's sudden movement, they all fly quickly from the tree, swarming around her. Shannon screams, making them fly even faster. She tears wildly around the tree to where the class was before, and she finds them all there, intently studying whatever animals or tracks they have found.

She turns around. All the butterflies have vanished. Except for one, planted neatly on her quill, which lay abandoned by the tree. Perhaps these butterflies really were trying to tell her something...Maybe I'll write to my parents when I get done with class, she thinks, gathering up her dropped class supplies.

The teacher smiled as she watched Shannon fight her way through the persistant butterflies and stood in the cntre of the clearing, ready to address all the students.

"Right, I am afraid that is all we have time for today. If you'd all like to pack up, you can go back to the classroom and check your homework there."

Francis packs up her things and heads to see the homework board.

Shannon packs up the rest of her things and heads back toward the castle, mentally writing her letter.

Stephanie looks around with a worried expression, "I hope it isn't harpies. Those are not the nicest of creatures." She follows the class back to the castle.
