Lexy opned her box and examined the contents she peered into the black satchel and was immediatly overcome with a horrible stench but it looked so pretty. Doxy Droppings. Ugh. she gingerly touched the spoon then examined the vial, the turquioise liquid was very pretty, it didn't stink either. She smiled and walked over to the stone basin and carefully filled half oof her spray bottle. She returned to her desk and waited patiently for further instuction, turning the vial with the turqoise liquid over and over, watching how it shines when it catches the light.

Riiya glanced down at the box and opened it cautiously, as if expecting a spider to jump out at any moment. she glanced inside and saw that her ingredients are complete. she glanced up at the blackboard:

she then looked down in her box. There was a sachet with black and blue sparkling powder on the left side, a sealed test tube with a turquoise liquid and an elongated spoon with small tip. she opened her spraying bottle and walked towards the stone basin, filling it up about half of the spraying bottle. she then walked back to her place and smiled at Lexy, showing her eagerness to know what else is to be done...

Kay takes the box that Professor Phoenix handed her and opens it. Inside she finds a sachet with Doxy droppings, an elongated spoon with a small tip, and a sealed test tube containing cobalt diluted with little water. Since her box contained all three items, Kay fills up half of her spraying bottle with water from the stone basin on her right.

Tom opens his box and looks in it. The spoon was missing. He went up to the front and took one. He went back to his place and poured the ingredients into the spray bottle. He mixes it with a spoon, and adds water.

"Professor, what are we going to do with the sprays?" he asks

Shannon looks into the box on her desk. Inside, she sees the doxy droppings, the spoon and the test tube. She half fills her bottle with water and returns to her desk to wait for the next step.

-Laura opened her wooden box, carefully admiring the contents. She was most intrigued by the test tube of the turquoise liquid. After checking to ensure she had all her items, she opened up her bottle and proceeded to the stone basin. She carefully filled up her bottle half way with water and then returned to her desk.-

Gary opens his box and finds that the doxy droppings are missing. He starts to ask the professor where they've gone when he notices that the satchel fell out onto the ground and have scattered everywhere.

"Ugh, this is worse than cat litter" he groans miserably and starts to sweep them up. The turquoise liquid actually looks more like teal, but hopefully this doesn't matter, and the spoon is, thankfully, perfectly fine for a change. He goes over to the basin for some water, trips over the vines of some such plant, and accidentally lands in the water, getting his robes quite wet.

"Oh for heaven's sakes" someone mutters "he's 'opeless, isn't he?" Gary gets really mad, dries off with a towel some unknown person gives him, and gets back to work, grumbling angrily.

Nadia took the rest of her supplies out and unscrewed the Sprybottle and approached the stone basin. Once finished filling it up with water, and then, seeing there was no instructions as to how much they should put of the ingredients, she only poured all of the box content in it. The crushed Doxy droppings first and then the cobalt diluted with little water. Then she stirred in a random way, hoping that would sufice. She was done and she hoped it was correct.

While mixing the mixture they shall be feeding to the Hawan fungi-whatever that is-Gary notices another one of the professors, one he can't remember by name, come in and whisper to Professor Phoenix. It doesn't seem to interesting, until he hears of "Draught of Ephemera" again...he had heard the portraits mention that once, as well as seen it briefly in Professor Phoenix's office...he wodnered why it seemed so important.

"Probably just a new way of mixing tea" he mutters under his breath, finishing pouring in the cobalt diluted with water, hoping the mixture isn't wrong.

"Now if you all have you bottle half-filled with clear water, I ask you to slowly add the sachet of crushed Doxy droppings into it while mixing with the elongated spoon."



Professor Phoenix emptied the dark sparkling power into her bottle, stirring at the same time. The minuscule black and blue particles swirled around in the liquid.



"Then," she continued, unscrewing the lid of the test tube, "add the diluted cobalt into the mixture, still stirring."



She did so, and obtained a dark, midnight blue liquid. "That's it basically, you couldn't go wrong, even if you tried. We'll continue as soon as everybody has completed the nutritional mixture.

Shannon follows Professor Phoenix's instructions, carefully mixing the ingredients in her bottle, until she too has a swirling midnight blue liquid. She sets the bottle aside while she puts the empty pouch, spoon and test tube back into the box.

Jill sat back down at her desk, half filled spray bottle in hand. She placed it on her desk, careful not to tip it over as she put her dragon hide gloves over her hands. Then, carefully and slowly, Jill picked up the sachet with her left hand, and watched the blue and black sparkles fall into the clear water, stirring the bottle with the spoon in her left hand. Emptying the sachet, Jill tapped one or two sparkles that had fallen astray with the tip of her gloved fingers and flicked them in, still stirring. Satisfied with her effort, she then slowly poured in the turquoise liquid, careful not to spill as well as carefully stirring the sparkling clear water. Once done, Jill closed her spray bottle, smiling at the nutritional mix that stood before her.

Kay follows Professor Phoenix's instructions and carefully mixes the ingredients in her bottle. A few moments later, the bottle contains a swirling midnight blue liquid and she replaces the lid on it. Kay sets the bottle aside and places the empty test tube, pouch and spoon into the wooden box on her desk.

Riiya opened the sachet of crushed Doxy droppings, shaking her head as the thought of droppings was gross. as she slowly adds them while mixing it with the elongated spoon, her mind began to wonder...

is he really here? how did he find me??...but then again...he always manages to find me, ever since- opps. no more..

Riiya then places the empty sachet back into the box, taking out the test tube. she unscrews the top and carefully adds in the diluted cobalt into the mixture while constantly stirring. with one hand, she screwed back the top and placed the test tube back into the box, closing it as a sign that she has used them already. her silver-blue eyes were fixed on the new liquid color as if she was in its trance. as she stared deeply into the midnight blue liquid, she was amazed at how she could see tiny blue and a few silver particles swirling around as if dancing around merrily...


She did so, and obtained a dark, midnight blue liquid. "That's it basically, you couldn't go wrong, even if you tried. We'll continue as soon as everybody has completed the nutritional mixture.

Serena carefully mixed her ingredients as instructed and was relieved to see the mixture turn to a dark midnight blue.

"There, everybody has their mixture completed. Just leave the spraying bottles at your desk while you come and collect a tray each," Professor Phoenix said, handing them out to the students at the front.



"As you can see, the white round furry thing on the thin layer of soil is what we call Hawan Fungi. It is an excellent isolation for especially fragile plants in the winter, which is exactly why we are cultivating them. Other than that, they are pretty boring. The look a little like a miniature carpet, don't you think? If you poke them with your finger—gloves on, please, because we don't want you walking around with fungi on your hands—they contract a little, like when poking a snail or something."

"Doxy droppings?" Aixla wrinkled her nose in disgust, but went about collecting what she needed anyway. She mixed her ingredients very carefully, due to the large, cumbersome gloves.

"Weird ..." she muttered, giving the fungus a little poke. While definately not her favorite class - due to the ick factor - she was starting to gain an appritiation for the qualities of magical plants.

Shannon steps to the front to collect a tray. When she sits, she examines the plant, and pokes it with a gloved finger. Sure enough, it cringes away a little.

Riiya stepped to the front and took a tray from the professor's desk. walking slowly, she placed the tray on her table, watching as Lexy lines up to get hers. she looked down at the Fungi and giggled as it looked exactly like a carpet - persian carpet ^^

Riiya touched the fungi and felt a soft movement at the tip. maybe its because of my gloves... she said to herself. she raised her hands and asks, "what does Hawan Fungi do? what is its properties? what is it used for?"

"Not much, really," Professor Phoenix confessed. "It is an extremly good isolation for plants in the cold winter months though, probably due to some magical goodness."

"Magical goodness"" Aixla asked. "Can something be inherantly good or evil? I thought it was all in how it's used ... or maybe that's a better question for another time. I don't want to get us off topic here."

"i dont think she meant good and evil..i think she means like..positive side and the negative side." Riiya replied.

Looking at the Hawan Fungi as it was called, Kali thought of something.

"Professor, since these fungi (so far) have no greatly obvious signs of magic, do muggles know of them and use them at all?"

Kay collected a tray from Professor Phoenix and returned to her seat. She examines the carpet of fungi and poked at it with a gloved finger, giggling as it contracted like a snail.

"No, that is--fortunately, I suppose--not the case."
