For those who belong in Slytherin House, on the right side of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Green banners containing an embroidered silver snake float above the polished table in honour of the cunning Salazar Slytherin. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages.
Though your stomach might be growing as you take a seat on one of the long benches next to the table, it is important to not get hangry -- gnawing your arm away or jabbing your fork repeatedly on the surface of the table will do no good whatsoever. Give everyone some time to get settled in and wait for Headmistress Hawthorne to deliver her speech. Keep yourself preoccupied by catching up with your fellow housemates or those who are visiting from the other tables until it is time to sink your teeth into the hearty and delicious meal prepared by the house-elves.
For a long moment, it looked like Noble had snapped. And maybe he had. His face twitched, gaze unwavering as his wand hand hovered tensely over the holster on his hip as if he was fight the urge to hex Alec right there and then. The words bit, perhaps more than Alec intended them to, though Noble didn't show it. He could defend his reasoning for his decisions should he care to. In this particular moment, he didn't. In fact, other than the first movement towards his wand, he hadn't reacted at all.
But then, possibly for the first time this term, a smile slowly broke across Noble's lips, and a deep laugh erupted inside his throat. It was a strange sight, and an even odder sound.
"I suggest you stay for at least the Headmistress's speech, Flynn. Wouldn't want you messing with Professor Vance's inner eye." And with that, he turned in a flourish of robes, heading up the central aisle to his seat at the staff table.

With his hands stuffed into the pockets of his pants, Cam made his way over to the Slytherin house table and slid into a seat next to Nat. "Hey." He glanced at her briefly before looking up at the celebratory decorations in the Great Hall. He did NOT feel like celebrating right now. Not even their victories in both the House AND Quidditch Cup. Honestly, right now he just wanted to eat and get this feast over with.
There were only a few things that could lift Natalie's spirits at that time. One of them was food, which hopefully would come soon. The other was good company, particularly her twin brother, or her friends. And luckily for her, one of her very good friends was joining her.

"You'll come over this summer, right?" she asked, her eyes calmly scanning over the other students in the hall. She was generally more bummed about leaving school, but not so much this time. But all she really cared to know was that she would get to see her friends after they left.

Flynn did not notice where the man's hand was hovering because he was still heading out of the hall. Strange enough, as he walked, he did feel a tad uneasy. It was a weird feeling because he talked smack about people all the time, and now he felt bad about calling out a ruthless Professor? Maybe it had something to do with the fact that he knew there was a very small chance there could be consequences, such as losing his badge.... or points.... but most importantly, his badge. His precious badge that gave him so much power....
..... then again, he could also get away with this like he did with stealing the book. It could very easily swing both ways. If he had been Jessa Cambridge though, he was sure the man would of already given him a detention to look forward to next term.
He came to a halt when he heard that laugh. That laugh made him give a look like this as he turned to face the man once more.
Was he worried? Maybe a little or a lot.
"You should never trust a drama student," he called out.
He turned around and headed out and into the entrance hall. A breather, that's all he needed. Maybe he'd take a look at the hourglasses as he calmed himself down, so he wouldn't go off on a first year. Merlin knows he made enough of them upset this year. By accident, of course.

No dramatic entrance this time. There was no point to it, since Katy figured if she hadn't managed to squeeze into the memories of her classmates by now, a desperate last ditch effort wouldn't work and would just be pitiful. Instead, she breezed up to the table and dropped into her seat, nudging Lupin over to make room for her. But like a lady. A ladylike elbow to the ribs.
"Lupin. Fancy meeting a boy like you in a place like this. You been prepping what you're going to write in the book? I was thinking a big flourish of a signature, and a 'take that, suckers' to leave the appropriate taste in their mouth. Then again, if I ever have kids who attend here, I don't want to embarrass them. I mean, more than a little therapy can't fix."
Oliver looked over as he was elbowed, luckily it was a light elbow. He raised his eyebrow, pretending to be offended but was grinning by the time she started speaking. He grabbed his cup and sipped his drink.
"Of all the Great Hall's in all the world." It was another reference he was sure she didn't get cause he was sure they never watched Casablanca so maybe he'd have to fix that at some point.. Though she wasn't a fan of sad movies. "Yeah, i think i'm gonna write something for my Nieces and Nephews." Cause he wasn't super concerned with anyone else here.
Noble paused a moment at that remark. It should have been water off a duck's back, and yet he couldn't help himself. "I trust very few people at all," Noble said, not bothering to look back and check whether Alec had heeded his advice. "Especially not an actor who pretends he isn't afraid."
That said, he continued walking, the smile on his face settling into something more akin to smugness. Maybe that potion wouldn't need to go completely to waste after all.

End of term feasts were always quite sad for Vivian. It meant yet another year at Hogwarts has come to an end, and that also meant saying good bye to people she'd grown up with. On top of that, it meant she was going to be a big bad seventh year this coming September. Plus, NEWTs were coming her way too, and the blond was quite sure she was going to stress herself out again. The world was telling her that she was old, and the prefect was not having any of it.
However, with the House Cup AND Quidditch Cup they had won this term, Vivian figured she might as well show up to the feast a bit earlier than usual. The prefect slipped into a seat beside Kye and nudged her dorm mate as her way of greeting. Her blue eyes also lingered towards Flynn's general direction, and her co-prefect seemed to be... well, Vivian could only hope that he didn't get into trouble and risk their house cup in the last minute.
... Well, at least everyone else on her table didn't seem like getting into trouble. No pranks, no unsolicited snogs from across the hall, no anything. Thank Merlin.
Oh, and what a surprise visit from the Bloody Baron. Obviously, he didn't seem to be in the mood. But when exactly has he been in a less irritated state? "Good evening, sir Baron," Vivian greeted. "Perhaps everyone else will get into the festive mood when there's food." Because food was always the solution, yes.

Did the slippery, slimy Slyther-insects think they were getting left out of this little EGGstravaganza?
WRONG!!!!!! Peeves wanted everybody to have EGGqual opportunity. He was about to start throwing another armful of eggs when he spotted His Bloodiness. Uh-oh.
Well, maybe he could still make this work. "Peevsie is happy, Your Bloodiness. Very happy indeed. Look, he even brought tasty treats for all the good snakies!"
He suddenly "lost" his grip on the eggs, and they fell with a SPLAT!
"OOH, WHOOPS! Sorry, kiddies! Guess I shouldn't have put all my eggs in one basket!"
Ooooooooh, what was this? A Slyther-insect trying to get away. Peevesie couldn't have that, no siree! "OY, HENNY-FLYNNY!" he shouted, pelting the prefect with eggs. "Lookee! The sky is falling!"

"Hey!" Kye smiled at Vivi, before nodding her head towards the Bloody Baron, "Hello!" Kye smiled as she sat with her two best friends... She felt like this had been one of those long short years. She was happy. Quidditch Cup, House Cup, high marks... She had done so much better than she thought she would as far as keeping up with academics AND being more outgoing. As she reminisced, Peeves had made his way around and was, ugh, egging students. Before long he was at the Slytherin table, and Kye thought that the Baron would be sight enough.
SPLAT.
She had been wrong. Wrongfully assuming that he would leave the immediate area, Kye felt an egg crack right by her ear. "PEEVES!!" she shouted indignantly. Could he not?! He was already chasing after Flynn by the time she spotted him again, but UGH she wanted to run after him...
Not that she knew a way to properly punish the poltergeist. Homework for YOU, Professor Hirsch.
There were only a few things that could lift Natalie's spirits at that time. One of them was food, which hopefully would come soon. The other was good company, particularly her twin brother, or her friends. And luckily for her, one of her very good friends was joining her.
Her eyes met Cam's when he slid onto the bench next to her. "Hey," she replied as he looked at the decorations in the hall. She slid her arm through his and settled against him a little bit.

Nat usually had the ability to make him feel better.
Right now was no different. Leaning into her a little when she wrapped her arm through, Cam gave her a small smile. "Hey." Yes, he was aware of the fact that he had already said that but this time his tone actually suggested he was happy to be here. There was nothing he could do for Jessa right now so he forced himself to at least try and enjoy the feast.
And summer, he was going to enjoy that too. "Of course." He nudged his friend and leaned in to nuzzle her hair briefly. "And you'll have to come to some of my matches." If possible, ALL of them but he didn't want to sound too needy. Surely, Nat had other plans for the summer too that didn't-
O_____O
With a surprised yelp Cameron dove under the table, trying to pull Nat along with him. It was on pure instinct and even before he realized that it was "only" eggs that Peeves had dropped on them. Wondering how he knew what it was?Well, because there was currently some of it dripping down from his hair and onto his shoulder. Ew.
Yay, Hamlet! • Cathopper • Disney Fanatic • I was normal once...
You know what, Noble-man? Flynn Kowalski was choosing to ignore that response, pretending that he was the one that had the last word, because the man was already too far away by the time he turned back around. He grunted and went about his path towards the door until he heard his name being called out by, "Peeves." He snarled that name between his teeth. Just as he was about to turn around ---
SPLAT!
SPLAT! SPLAT! SPLAT!
The cracked eggs were dripping off his hair and on to his robes as he slowly turned on his heels towards the direction of the poltergeist. If only looks could kill....
"PEEVES!" He screamed bloody hell at the poltergeist, but he was cut short when the Headmistress began her speech. He stood there, covered in eggs and fury on his face, as he listened.
He didn't clap.
He didn't do anything.
It was only until the Headmistress was done speaking that he pulled out his wand. Was he going to clean himself up? Hex Peeves? All the above?
Spoiler alert: he was going to clean himself up because he was beginning to smell.

Gaston sighed as he approached the Slytherin table. He hoped Peeves was done with his little show. It was going to be hard enough to say goodbye to so many students he'd come to know without any poltergeist antics! The thought momentarily crossed his mind to turn back and spare himself the heartache, but he couldn't do that. These kids needed to know how much he cared for them, no matter what the emotional toll it took on him.
"Hello, everybody!" he greeted, giving Flynn, Zita, Kye, Oliver, Skylar, Patrick, Natalie, Cameron, Zarina, Katy & Vivian a small smile in turn as his eyes scanned the table. "Congratulations on the House and Quidditch Cup wins!"Oh, hello, Emmalyn! The ickle Hufflepuff got a wave from the professor, and he vaguely wondered what she was doing at the Slytherin table. Oh, well... no matter. The Baron's presence was also noted; Gaston bowed his head and greeted the ghost with a polite, "Good evening."
Small talk aside, he made his way down the table to the two seventh years (Oliver & Katy). Memories came rushing back as he looked at them... Oliver's commentary during the IMPS competition... Katy volunteering answers in class... He shook his head to make the memories die before his emotions could get the better of him. It was way too early in the night for him to fall apart; he still had three other tables to visit after this!
"Oliver... Katy..." he began, his eyes darting from one face to the other. "I won't keep you long. I just wanted to give you these..." He pulled two identical boxes out of his jacket pocket; each one contained a brand new black quill and a graduation card. "...and to say congratulations. I know you'll both go on to do great things!" He smiled but soon had to turn away as his smile faltered.

Glancing around the table the Baron's black staring stopped on Prefect Fairfield as she greeted him with proper decorum. "Good evening Vivian," he responded not unkindly. Disbelief was written all over his grumpy face as he asked "How exactly can the food bring up the mood?" Gathered his bloodiness hadn't eaten in quite a few hundred years but food hadn't made him happy, had it?

If the Baron wasn't grumpy before then the arrival of Peeves certainly caused his mood to plummet dangerously as the poltergeist dropped eggs on the table, splashing his students with egg whites and yolks. Snarling, the Baron yelled angrily, his blank staring eyes almost popping out of their sockets as they fixed on the blasted nuisance as he floated forwards. "PEEVES go away and take your flaming eggs with you! I swear I'll chase you to the top of the Divination Tower if you don't leave right now!" If Peeves knew what was good for him. Maybe it was time to talk to Headmistress Hawthorne about expelling Peeves from the feasts?

Young Kye Atwater distracted the Bloody Baron from Peeves momentarily as she addressed him. Trying to keep the seething anger out of his voice he greeted as he stopped to float near the snakeling. "Good evening Valkyrie," he was about turn his attention elsewhere when a egg flew through him and towards the sixth year. Looking at her the Baron noted. "You got egg in your hair."

Floating after Peeves intending to chase him out of the great hall the Baron stopped again to see how Flynn got pelted with a number of eggs that soon covered his face and hair. The Baron stayed quiet, seething with fury over Peeves when the Headmistress thought it a good time to hold her speech. When Hawthorne was done and Peeves had floated off the blasted sod to attack another table the Baron floated towards Flynn and ordered "Young master Flynn. I suggest you clean yourself up before you assist Vivian and Skylar with aiding your egg splattered peers at the table. I will take care of Peeves." It was not debatable.

The food arrived magically on the table and it would be a mood riser if Vivian was to be trusted. Grudgingly the Baron floated back towards the table. He really wanted to chase after Peeves but he had his duties at the snake table. It didn't take long before the Charms Professor popped down to the snake table to talk to Katy and Oliver. Floating over to intercept Mr Marchand the Baron said as way of greeting his foul mood evident in his tone and piercing stare. "Professor Marchand, can you see about finding a poltergeist charm that will effectively keep Peeves out of the feasts?"
Sometime after the Headmistress' speech, a meticulously folded dragon-shaped memo fluttered down from the staff table and landed in front of Flynn. The outside yielded no clues as to the sender, and, since charming the parchment in the direction of its destination, the owner had moved his gaze elsewhere.
The tidy handwriting should be identifiable enough once opened though...the very same often found bemoaning the lazy quality of Alec's potions essays in red ink.

Katy was still cleaning egg off her robe when Professor Marchand offered them a gift. A gift? If this was how seventh years were treated, Katy heartily agreed with him. She smiled hugely and clutched the package to her chest. Hogwarts wasn't such a bad old place, honestly, and the professors had gotten her this far.
"Thank you, sir. I'll be sure to owl you next year from Edinburgh WU and let you know how I'm getting along. And did you know that Lupin here already has an internship lined up? Her eyes darted back to the Hufflepuff table to see if Derf had heard any of what had been said. Focusing her gaze back up to Zita, she not so calmly replied. "It was fine." She took another slow swallow to force the tears, and her stomach, to stay where they were. "I just came over to say that I'm sorry." She look to her feet "I shouldn't have said those things about you." No , she wasn't going to repeat any of it and she really did feel bad for saying what she said. No matter how horrible Zita had been, it didn't excuse her behavior towards the fourth year.
Emmalyn stood her ground, waiting to see if Zita would accept her appology, or if she would sling another volley of hurtful words toward her. Either way, she wasn't going to leave until it was finished.
Zita just listened with her sweet smile on her face. If the first year thought Zita believed the apology coming out of her mouth. Zita wasn't born yesterday and this girl really did have potential to be great just like Zita, but Z wasn't going to let her know she knew she just made it look like she was just hanging on all her words. She looked over to the puff table and waved her fingers just in case Derf was looking and then she placed an arm around the girl, "Tell you what Em, you are showing great potential to be the leader of your own girl squad one day, I could train you to be great and show you fashion that would make your head spin." Her eyes glanced for Andi to see if she was watching. She leaned a little closer, "Just before next term figure out which boys to stay away from, any of mine or my girl squads are fully off limits. She took her seat again and wiggled her fingers at the first year.

"PEEVES, you creep."
He might've been weird but what normal person would have been able to be Katy Toussaint's closest friend for these last few years. Oliver would have argued no normal person could have handled it.
"I don't have much to say to or about this school..Besides i plan on being plenty interesting from here on out so i'm okay with seeming boring in a book at a school." Because really.. He was sure people wrote all kinds of things that sounded stupid while trying to be interesting.
Then he felt an egg shatter on his left wrist.. "What?" He wanted to say word that would most likely get points taken from Slytherin..But he didn't. "I am not going to miss that.." He told Katy before brandishing his wand and cleaning his arm.

Because that should be simple enough, right? "I'm ready for summer though. You?" Even if her summer was going to be packed with almost as much as her days were during the school year.

Not looking where he was going the Baron passed through a handful of students on his way to hover at the head of the table where he blurted out grumpily "Why isn't anyone happy at this table? We won TWO cups isn't that cause for joy?"

And a feast would be remiss without the appearance of the Bloody Baron, particularly as he should have been pleased with them for winning two cups this term. Which he was, only everyone was super duper glum and the appearance of the wifey near her pointing out about the lack of food as reason for the glumness.
"What she said. Food make everything better." Did he not realize they were a bunch of 'hangry-proned' teenagers? Probably not. Food didn't really affect him one way or the other.

She was about to ask Kye and Vivian about some summer plans, when things seemed to happen all at once. Most notably, however, was the LOUDNESS of a certain school poltergeist which allowed the Slytherin Captain to keep her reflexes in check. Well, for the most part, in that she was able to quickly raise her hand and as she caught one of the eggs, effectively preventing it from ruining her face or hair. Only problem? Ever try to catch a raw egg? Yea, Skylar hadn't before now either, as it crushed in her hands, oozing yolk and egg whites between her fingers onto the bench.
Gross.
Which caused her to be making faces just as the headmistress stood up for her speech. What a time for faces when the woman was congratulating them ... the Slytherins ... on winning both the house and quidditch cups. Totally the fault of Peeves though. When the Headmistress finished and the food appeared, Skylar quickly removed her wand and made quick use of a cleaning charm to vanish the egg yolk from her hand and clean it up before digging in.

Ew.
Basically, she was glad to have Cam as such a good friend.
Natalie smiled at his response and added a nose wrinkle when he nuzzled her hair. Summer wasn't complete without time at the beach. And she had a feeling that Liam would be spending a lot of time with his boyfriend... so Nat needed Cam to be with her every minute that he wasn't playing quidditch. She was needy, alright? "I'll come to all of them, if you'll let me," she said with a bit of a grin. She hadn't really been a fan of quidditch until Cam and Derf had started playing, but now she just wanted to support them as much as possible.
Still rather lazy and apathetic towards the goings-on in the room, Natalie didn't even try to dodge the eggs that came flying from Peeves. Luckily, all she got was some of the splash that came from an egg hitting Cam in the head. She watched it drip onto his shoulder and then picked up her napkin to try and mop some of it up for him. What were friends for?
Zita just listened with her sweet smile on her face. If the first year thought Zita believed the apology coming out of her mouth. Zita wasn't born yesterday and this girl really did have potential to be great just like Zita, but Z wasn't going to let her know she knew she just made it look like she was just hanging on all her words. [b] "Oh aren't you sweet and saying you're sorry.
Now run along little puffer before a big snake turns on you."
She took her seat again and wiggled her fingers at the first year.
She tried not to flinch as Zita’s arm wrapped around her. She knew she shouldn’t have done this surrounded by Slytherins. She should have just written her a letter or invited her over to the Hufflepuff table. That would have been a much safer move. Live and learn.
Then Zita was talking. Girl squad? She had no idea was a girl squad was and was fairly sure she didn’t want one. No, she would stick to being her. Running solo had always worked out much better. Plus, the few times she had trusted other girls, she had regretted it. Fashion, nope, didn’t care about that either.
Then came the kicker. She was to stay away from any boy that Zita or her friends liked. She squirmed uncomfortably, trying to slip out from under Zita’s arm. Were there no other Hufflepuffs in the room? She had hoped at least one of them would have noticed. Just as she was about to signal for help, Zita dropped her arm and returned to her seat.
After Zita had taken her seat and wiggled her fingers, Emmalyn finally got her voice back. “How” she paused, trying to filter what she really wanted to say “kind of you.” She turned and took a few steps before spinning back around. “Oh, and I’ll decide which boys I wish to pursue. You and your squad shouldn’t be afraid of some competition from a little puffer like me.” With that she quickly scampered off towards the Hufflepuff table, not looking back even once.

Wow....
Just wow...
This first year was a piece of work and Zita started laughing, like really laughing, it was a laugh that hadn't been heard from her since all the James/Zayn stuff. It felt good to laugh this much and she just couldn't stop. The first year really thought she was competition to her and her friends. Had she looked at Zita lately?
"Oh sweetie that was a good one. So glad you have such a sense of humor about looks." This was a trip, did Andi hear this? What a fun story to laugh about this summer.
A first-year competition for them, her sides were starting to hurt from laughing so much.

Really, his innocence and bright outlook was pretty much exactly what Skylar needed and she couldn't help but reflected his own energy in herself. She nodded. "So surprised but it was amazing!!!" She nodded though, as he said he'd be back in the states, which actually had her wondering... "States? What states is your family in? I have cousins ... in like Colorado or something. And then my brother is in Hawaii." With her nephew and the mother of the nephew, but no need to mention that. And then there was her grandma ... or great-gran? Eh, she was horrible with keeping track of this stuff.
"Summer... I've got plans for Under Seventeen, again. And to research Universities, start applying for various programs. Or maybe getting my application ready. I'd like to get in on the early admission, if possible." Ugh, it was scary, did he know? Also, kind of a boring summer, save for the quidditch.

Gaston gasped, startled by the Baron's sudden appearance. Not that he was afraid of him, per se; he saw the Slytherin ghost as a tragic figure more than anything else. Whatever happened to him, however he came to be covered in blood and chains, the professor knew it had to have been traumatic for him. Once the initial shock wore off and his heart stopped racing, he forced himself to look back at the Slytherin ghost. He really was quite disturbing to look at!
Blink, blink. Did the Baron have any idea what he was asking? No one had succeeded in keeping Peeves from the feast in over a thousand years, and he expected him to do it now? Repelling a poltergeist was difficult work, not to mention the fact that a spell to repel Peeves might affect the house ghosts too. Finding a foolproof solution would take time and experimentation, which the professor hadn't the time for at the moment. He had graduating students to say goodbye to! Still, he knew it was unwise to cross the Baron.
"I'll see what I can do," he said, searching his mind for a possible solution. "i can think of something to try now, but I can't guarantee it'll work." With a wave of his wand, he cast a spell intended to combine the effects of skurge and a shield charm over the area. "If that doesn't hold, I'll try to fix it after I speak to the seventh years." He was perfectly willing to work with the Baron, not only because he was frightening but because it was the kind thing to do, but giving the graduates a proper goodbye was not negotiable.

Moments later, Gaston was startled again as a paper dragon flew past and landed in front of Mr. Kowalski. He instinctively reached for his wand; it took every ounce of restraint he had not to vanish it! Really? It had to be a dragon? Why not a hippogriff or a unicorn or even a phoenix... literally any other creature but that one? He sighed. He knew whoever sent that note hadn't meant to frighten him - only one other person currently at Hogwarts knew about his past trauma with dragons - but he really did not like dragons!

Oliver smiled as well, feeling grateful for an HOH who came to talk to them because they were graduating. It was very thoughtful. "Thank you, Professor." He took his box as well, holding it in an almost protective way on account of it having just rained eggs moments earlier. Then Katy was talking about Edinburgh, he was proud of her.. OH and Ollivanders. "Yes, i have an apprenticeship at Ollivanders. I'm very exited.." There was no doubt in his mind that he and Katy would do great things.
Gaston returned Katy's smile. Seeing how happy his gift seemed to make her dulled the sadness of the goodbye, if only for a moment. "You're very welcome, Katy," he replied. His expression changed slightly at her next words. "Thank you; I'd like that." He never expected his graduating students to keep in touch with him, but it was always nice when it happened. Oh, she was going to Edinburgh WU? "Congratulations! I've heard Edinburgh is a great school."
The mention of Oliver's internship came as a surprise to him (not because he thought him incapable - just because he didn't know he had one), but before he could ask about it, the boy himself spoke. "You're welcome, Oliver," he replied, and she smiled a little upon hearing the internship was at Ollivander's. "Good luck in your internship! Do you wish to become a wandmaker one day?" Perhaps years from now, he'd be ending his daughter to him for her first wand...
