If you know the password, or where the entrance is from the Secret Passage you can make your way through a portal in the stone wall of the dungeon and walk into the Slytherin common room also known as the Snake Pit.
The Slytherin common room is a long, low underground room with rough stone walls and ceiling, from which round, greenish lamps are hanging on chains. A fire is crackling under an elaborately carved mantelpiece ahead of you. The Slytherin emblem is everywhere you turn, as having a house pride is one of our strong qualities. Portraits of the infamous Salazar Slytherin, Professor Horace Slughorn, Professor Snape, Headmistress Umbridge and previous Head of Houses including the recently retired Mr Justin McLeod are aligned. It reminds students of what being a Slytherin means and allows them to share those feelings with others.
This is where Slytherin students are allowed to unwind and chat with one another, play games, paint on canvanses, or put on a song on the muggle karaokee machine. To the left, a corridor leads to the boys dormitories, and to the right leads to the girls dormitories. Beside each corridor is self inking quill and parchment with the words Attendo Thea Vipera on it. This is where you can leave a little information about yourself so your housemates can get to know you better.
Over the fireplace mantle is where the Slytherin trophies and plaques lay. In center is the Slytherin House Cup from last term's win. On the side of the fireplace hangs the Serpentum Nutinum, snake newspaper for announcements and open classes listed, quidditch tryots news and other noteworthy stuff. Placed around the room there are four different Wizard Chess game boards. If you feel like playing, better find a partner and see who can keep their pieces from getting smashed by the opposing team. The windows showcase the underwater where you can occasionally see the Giant Squid and other water creatures swim on by and study or do some homework in relative peace. Near the underwater windows a glass cage has come up that holds Slytherin house's own House Pet, a female gopher snake that loves playing and interaction and doesn't mind an occassional cuddle or pat on the head.
A podium stands to the side with a copy of Hogwarts a History, which is where you will learn that even though the whole dungeon had once been flooded, nothing was waterlogged or permanently damaged.
Zarina made her way to the slytherin common room and wanted to just relax. She loved the layout of the common room, she liked the idea they were under a lake and it just created a pleasant atmosphere, one she wouldn't experience at home. She brought a book to read and was semi into it, she would read a couple sentences and look around and observe others walking past her or doing other activities.
Zae beamed and loved being in her own solitude. She had a feeling though it wouldn't last for long.
Yay, Hamlet! • Cathopper • Disney Fanatic • I was normal once...
Flynn sunk himself into the couch, getting super comfy, and he diverted his attention to Zita, who seemed to be.... flirting? Oh, blondie, he was not as easy as Derf was to kiss. He shook his head a little at the girl before moving his attention elsewhere.... anywhere...
or there was his girlfriend! He smiled when she inched closer to him, but that smile soon faded when she opened her mouth. Honestly, part of him should of expected that because she had seemed off every since the train ride. Had HE done something wrong? "Alright," he replied back to her. "I'll see you at breakfast then?"
Oh, Diggory was speaking? He had half heard her speech, and he only turned his attention towards her because she said his name. "Don't tell the kiddies lies, Diggory," he said, nonchalantly. "I claimed this couch six years ago." Even etched his name somewhere on it, if somebody looked hard enough.
....

Yes, he had heard that Baron, and this was all he had to say to that: "Mayfield adores me. Probably more than she adores Chase."Snort. But they were buddies. He was friends with the girl squad aka Skylar, Haddie, Vivian, and Felicity.
He turned his attention away from the Bloody Baron when he heard someone call him by the correct name; however, this young boy (Kei) must not of heard his speech because he was not in the market to answer questions. He was not at anybody's service at the moment, considering Vivian Fairfield was RIGHT THERE...... but alas, he was being watched. He had to be - what was that nasty word again? Responsible? Ugh, made him gag, but he guessed the power the badge was worth it. To some degree, at least. "As long as it's not a stupid question," he responded, gave a brief pause then added, "What is it?"

Freshly showered, hair still slightly wet, Cameron made his way down to the common room to recheck the sources in his History of Magic essay. He stopped, books in his arms, to look around in search for a free seat. Clearly he hadn't been the only one who thought coming here was a good idea. Maybe he should go up to the Astronomy tower instead or something. But that would require him going back to his dorm and putting on his shoes.
And he quite liked the feeling of just walking around in his warm socks right now.
On the verge of giving up, Cameron finally found an empty seat. Or sort of empty. "Hey." He approached Zarina with a smile. "Do you mind if I sit with you?" Which also translated to 'please scoot over a little?'.

Zarina was really into her book when she heard a familiar voice. She looked up from her book and saw it was Cameron. Play it cool Zae play it cool. She shook her head and didn't mind at all. "Sure help yourself.." she gestured towards her seat next to her. She moved a little bit so he could have some room. Zae couldn't help but steal a couple glances at Cameron. What he was cute. Least he couldn't read what she was thinking. After a couple minutes of silence, she figured she should break it.
"Whatcha working on..?" she asked eyeing his textbooks. Smooth Zae really smooth conversation started. It looked like school work which was gross enough. Zae took the pleasure in reading books she was interested in.

"Thank you." He smiled at her again when she moved so he could sit down. Carefully setting his books on his lap, he fished his essay out between the pages of the book on top of his small pile. Honestly, he'd have wished for MORE room (not from her, just in general) but he'd have to make do with what he had. If it got too complicated he could always go back up to his dorm.
Blaze suddenly wasn't as scary as he had been the past few years anymore anyway.
Heh.
Holding his quill between his teeth, Cameron turned to look at Zarina next to him again when she spoke. Before he answered he removed the quill from his lips. "Going over my History of Magic essay." He looked at the book in her hands. "You?"

"Anytime.." she replied and saw him unravel his homework assignment it looked like. Man it seemed like he had a lot to do. She eyed and saw it was history of magic from the book title. Ewww gross. She was not much of a history nerd she was more of a Defense Against the Dark Arts person than learning history. She preferred action. When he answered her question, she looked down at her book and shrugged, "Just a bit of light reading. I am reading for our Defense Against the Dark Arts classes. I have always been interested in it." She was interested in how the death eaters back in 1994 and how Voldemort was in power. She wondered how people lived like that in constant fear.
"Was there a history of magic homework assignment I was not aware of?" She really needed to pay attention more in that class. She couldn't help but nod off and fall asleep. She couldn't help but think that Cameron needed more room, "Do you need me to move to the other couch so you have more room to spread out?" It was cool if he didn't want to be next to her. She understood.
After seeing the Noticeboard, Kye's jaw dropped just a tad. She had made it! The first Quidditch season back in session and she was to be a Chaser! She did an uncharacteristic jump for joy, and made her way to one of the tables. Rummaging through her bag, she pulled out parchment and her quill. As she had already told Sky, she seriously needed her own broom! She wouldn't be caught dead on a school broom during a match.
She wrote a letter to her parents, telling them that she had made the team (even though they had no idea she was even trying out), and she knew that they would understand the need for her own broomstick. She updated them on the generics of her classes thus far, and asked please please please for supplies. Just the basics of course... a broom, broom polishing kit, goggles for bad weather, gloves with good grip... you know, the basics! Oh, she hoped they would get her the Bluebottle...

Patrick walked into the common room, exhausted after a day of class and studying. Not to mention the fact that he had made the reserves for quidditch, which added a bonus to his school time. Speaking of quidditch, he needed to write his Pops and let him know that he made the team, well kind of, and his father. Kicking his feet up on one of the tables by the chair he decided that relaxing was slightly more important than worrying about a letter at this hour. Plus it was so calm in the common room that it was his favorite place to nap before his astronomy class. And he had a full stomach from after dinner.

Kei grins, leaning forward, resting his elbow on his raised knee, placing his chin on his fist. "Tell me," he begins, eyes glinting with a challenge. "Can I hold your badge? I haven't gotten to see one up close yet."
Kye felt as though on a weird sort of autopilot. What had gotten in to her?? Was she seriously going to do this? She made her way from her dorm to a table in the light of the fire. Here she laid out parchment, quill, ink... and stared at it. Kye shook her head, struggling to find words to match her thoughts. She was absolutely terrible at writing. Honestly. How she received the marks she did, she would never know. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, dipping her quill in the ink. I guess we'll see...
