It’s a lovely afternoon in early December, snow is falling gently outside and despite the winter going on outdoors, the room you walk into is nice and warm due to a few heating charms Kalen has put into place.
You are greeted by blank wooden floors with a large wooden wardrobe at the far end of the space, completely overtaking the rear wall. A desk sits just to the right of where you enter and there are long, cushioned benches lining the left and right walls of the rectangular room.
The Librarian himself is leaning ever so casually against his desk, waiting for people to arrive with an easy grin on his face.
There is a blackboard behind Kalen that reads:

OOC: Welcome to the first book club of the year! Come on in, say Hi and we will continue in about 24 hours.. ish! Also please keep the noise down to minimum levels, this is still the library. Not to mention Kalen gets cranky when it's loud. Class has officially started! Feel free to join in as if your character was already here! Late arrivals will face IC consequences

See, even though it hadn't been the answer, she was still correct and Mr Kennedy saw it ... there wouldn't be much of a story without prolonging it just a bit. And now it seemed they were going on a little adventure to Narnia. Wait, wait, wasn't this just a story!?
Narnia wasn't a REAL place, was it? But sure enough, Professors Wayland and Stewart disappeared before her eyes. Along with Derf and Olivia and Jessa ... and well, maybe it was real? She recalled stories her parents told her of Lainey's stories with proof and evidence of things that were thought to not exist, but did.
Just believe
There were things to believe in, especially now. And while stories, she didn't think were real, there was this nagging sense that told her it was okay to let go. It was going to be okay, wasn't it? Thinking of the professors who went before her, the other students, Skylar picked up a notebook and a fur coat... this wasn't like reading a book. She was going to be a part of the world, that wasn't really an option.
"See you on the other side," She told the librarian, as she stepped into the wardrobe, full of hope that she talked herself into.

Oooo the Lion the witch and Wardrobe.
That was to be the tome they would be exploring this first meeting. The Ravenclaw should have picked up the significance of the wardrobe but no bother. Cassie remembered that book, and the others in the series. It was a perfect mess of magical ideas and the muggle world so interesting for the young witch navigating both worlds to say the least. As mention was made of Lucy’s find and the siblings’ failure, the fifth year had to agree it was because of the elder Pevensies’ lack of belief that such a place as their sister was describing couldn’t possibly exist. “Enchantment could be lost as one got older…so they weren’t as open to Narnia.”
That was a big reason Cass loved being a witch. There was still the magical mystery in the world when the wizarding world was the way it was even if it didn’t always translate especially inside its muggle counterpart. And given as the Librarian was having them test their sense of wonder, it might just turn out to be a very good thing for her. They would really be going to Narmia!!! “Very cool!” The fifth year readily did as she was told, retrieving and putting on a fur coat before stashing notebook and quill in its pockets for safe keeping. Then taking her turn, she tested the barrier first with hand and foot and then the rest of herself, passing into the world beyond.

Rula hadn't read very many Muggle books - and she tended to prefer romance stories anyway, and this didn't seem like one of those - so she didn't have any answers to give so far, but she'd definitely been listening closely. It was always interesting to hear what kinds of stories people came up with, whether they were Muggles or magical. People could be so creative!
What really caught her attention was Kitty answer mentioning something about Aslan. And obviously not Gryffindor Aslan - even though she'd spoken up then, which made Rula smile. But there was a character with that name in this book? That was pretty cool. Maybe she'd try reading it some time, just because it was always kinda fun to read something with a character that had the name of someone you knew.
And now they were going "through" this real wardrobe to somewhere else! Sounded like fun! Rula had no problems with the idea that they could go somewhere else. Kinda like floo powder, but without the powder! Or a Vanishing Cabinet or something! Magic could do lots of cool things like that.
So she happily grabbed a fur coat and stepped through the barrier.

You all had some great answers, and yes as many of you pointed out, it was due to their skepticism, their disbelief. They had lost their sense of wonder as Miss Cambridge pointed out.” He said with a nod at the Ravenclaw ”They were also all older, like Miss Holden said and they knew there couldn't be some magical world in the wardrobe! Magic didn't exist, neither did Fauns or witches! They thought Lucy was just pretending as she was wont to do, making things up.. so of course they didn't see the magical wood at first. Edmund was particularly nasty to her about it, and he was the next one to get into the wood. They all got in, and had some grand adventures, but that is for another book club!"
The green eyed man was smiling as he kept his hand on the wardrobe.
”Now! I want to see if you all have lost your sense of wonder, or if it's still intact, for we all will be going through the wardrobe!” Kalen grinned as he opened the wardrobe and inside, there were several fur coats, enough for everyone in the class as well as a sparkling yellow barrier..
"Now, you didn't think I'd make you stay in this stuffy room did you?" He said as he held up his hand and the black cloth on his desk flew to him hand, revealing several leather bound notebooks sitting nicely stacked on his desk.
"All right, I want everyone to stand up and grab a note book, and make your way to the wardrobe! Grab a fur coat as well seeing as it might be cold over there and after you have done that, I want you to head through the barrier! If you can! It might stop you if you are doubtful or have lost your wonder.. " Kalen stepped into the wardrobe and put his hand through the barrier.. "Ahh apparently I still have some wonder left. " He said with a grin.. he also wanted the kids to know the barrier wouldn't hurt them..
"Now Professor Wayland will be going in to keep an eye on the ones who get in instantly, I'll be following to make sure we all get in! Are you all ready to see what lies through the wardrobe?" He asked with a smile.
See? She got it right, thanks to making a wild guess. Though not exactly, because everyone else had the same answer, so Vivian just went with the flow and gave an answer in the same context. LOL. The Slytherin listened as the librarian further discussed the plot of the story. It seemed interesting and a couple of questions popped in her head.
... What? Whaddaya mean Edmund was being nasty about it?! "My dad isn't like that!" The fourth year said, out of impulse. She then blinked when she realised that... oh, lol. It was the character from the story they were talking out. "Err... sorry, Sir." The Slytherin turned slightly pink after blurting her first comment out. Anyway, they were off to the wardrobe now? OHUMOKAY. Vivian took a fur coat and slipped it on before skipping into the wardrobe and...
"OW!" She had hit something, whatever it was. Still rubbing her nose from the impact, Vivian took a step forward again and fell down....

After her failed first attempt, Kitty went near the back of the line to wait for another a chance to jump into Narnia. She really was quite interested in how the librarian would have everything arranged. It being a long time since she'd read the books, she wasn't sure exactly what she'd find - though a lamppost and snow covered pine trees were at the top of the list.
Now it was her turn again. Taking a few steps back (kind of like when going through platform nine and three quarters), she entered the wardrobe - hands held out in front of her cautiously.
This time it worked, and she found herself floating through the wall and into Narnia.

So they were going into the wardrobe? Somehow Gaston had an idea all along that this was what the activity was going to be, but he hadn't said anything so as not to spoil the surprise for the students. Instead of joining the students who were grabbing notebooks, he pulled the little black journal that he carried everywhere with him out of his jacket pocket. No point in wasting one of Kalen's notebooks when he had this, was there?
He waited a bit for the line of students waiting to get into the wardrobe to thin out some before taking his turn. He grabbed a fur coat that looked about his size and - WHACK! Instead of going through to the other side, he ran into the back of the wardrobe. He tried again, but still nothing happened. He couldn't do it! Why couldn't he do it?! He obviously believed in magic; he used it every day! It was everything else that had his faith shaken.
Gaston took a deep breath, trying to go back to a time when he still believed in goodness and kindness and wonder in hopes that it would give him enough belief to get through the wardrobe. But he was still stuck firmly on this side, staring at the back of the wardrobe. It had finally happened... he was utterly disillusioned with the world. After several unsuccessful tries, he moved aside with a defeated sigh. "I can't..." he said, looking sadly back at Kalen. "Maybe I should stay behind to make sure everyone comes back..."

Narnia. They are talking about NARNIA!
The Curly Top was ALL EARS. These are stories he that sent him to dreamland at night all throughout his childhood. His sense of wonder and imagination and just happiness and elation was rooted in these stories. So imagine his EXCITEMENT when the Librarian said that the Wardrobe there was an actual functioning portal.
To Narnia?? ASDFASDFASDFASFA!!
No he's not gonna question if its really Narnia or just some forest or desert or underground cavern. Because this is adventure time and just jumping in the wardrobe is part of the adventure itself. Jumping on the balls of of his feet, he patiently rushed through students who cant get in the first time. And now it was his turn....
... and off he marches through, no hesitation, just eager to see if a certain LAMPOST would be seen from where he emerges....

Kalen was pleased with how well everyone was doing with getting into the portal... He himself was about to go through when Ahh! Gaston.
Kalen shook his head and grabbed the other teacher by the arm. "Nonsense, you are coming with me to Narbia. " He said with a smile, he waved his wand and the barrier disappeared leaving just a portal..
" See, we can get through now. " He said with a smile as he kept a hold of Gaston and they both moved through into Narnia.

Rooney had been paying less and less attention as his thoughts took over him and when they were presented with what was going to be happening, he had frozen in fear. Going through something into somewhere new was too much of a thing for him right now, and too soon after the portal happenings last year. Before he lost his teachers to the wardrobe, Roo shot his hand up. "Mr. Kennedy? I'm..uh...going to get going, if that's okay? I don't feel comfortable with the fears this will invest in." His own, not anyone elses. Because it seemed as though everyone else was completely over what had happened and the rest of the Hogwarts population seemed to think he was an idiot for even dwelling on it still.7
Nightmares were nightmares, though. And no one was allowed to invalidate the visions that plagued his sleep despite potion help.
He assumed that the librarian would have been worried about him, and therefore quickly added "I'll be okay. I'm going to go get some homework done. Have fun." And then the Head Boy rounded on his feet and headed away from the dwindling numbers as people went on into 'Narnia'.
