Outside of Professor Baxter's office is comfortable, elegant waiting area. There are several portraits of children playing in gardens, rolling in grass and making wishes upon dandelions. In the area there is also a white sofa, charmed to elongate itself if needed be. To the right of the sofa is a white stand with books, magazines and a bowl of organic sweets. Please do not bring food or drinks that may stain the sofa. It's much appreciated!
OOC: Hello! Make sure to post here before Professor Baxter invites you into her office. Thanks!
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
He did not have a specific reason to be here. No questions or anything. He just wondered how the new charms professor was. Was she strict? Easy going? Somewhere in between? Just some random things he was curious about. And as an ex-student from Charms school he was really intrigued by how she would differ from Professor Quigley. Or if they could be the same?
Walking in the room outside of her office, Yoongi’s eyes landed on the white sofa and he smiled. That sofa was SO HIM. Elegant, pure and comfortable to hang out with. He wasn’t even joking, he honestly felt like that about himself. He walked passed the sofa and knocked on the door before turning back around and began to look at the moving portraits. Another smile, broader this time , appeared as he watched the children playing in the garden. Ah, to have kids on his own one day. That would be his 7th dream come true.
You know at this point. Dante knew he just likes meeting new Professors because they did not know him and vice versa. Plus he can get to know their personalities and see what he can say do and all that fun jazz.
Like with the previous Charms Professor. He had not even said his real name to him for almost a full year. though Dante was sure he knew it. He just played along. He was awesome. Though he had to loosen up on the nickname thing. This waiting room was something else though.
Never knew anyone to own a white sofa. To easy to dirty up and all the effort to clean. Yes even the effort to magic it clean was still to much effort.
He knocked and flopped on the white sofa.

She wasn't sure if she liked where Fabio's tank was positioned. Maybe if she set it behind her desk it'd be more appealing to the eye. She would block his view, though. And she was sure he was just as excited to meet students. Maybe if she sat the tank by the window. Hmm. No. The last time she did that he almost went belly up. Fabio was not going belly up. He had lots to live still.
Tapping her chin, she paused at the sound of a knock, her eyes shifting over to the wooden door.
Oh? She had a visitor this early?
Astrid smiled to herself, pushing off from her desk, in which she had been leaning on. Opening the door wide, Astrid spotted her visitor whom seemed interested in the portraits. Why he was smiling at them!
"Do they spark up a memory, the children in the portrait?" she asked, Spanish accent ever-so present.

Astrid had been in the middle of a rather long and descriptive letter from her mother when the sound of a knock reached her ears. Thank Merlin. Now she had an excuse to put said letter down and pick it up later without feeling guilty.
After folding it and setting it inside a drawer, she approached the door, blinking when there was no one there. It was until she poked her head out that she spotted the young man on sofa. She smiled a little.
"Comfy, isn't it?" She had made sure it was. Her students deserved the very best while they waited.

You know if Dante had not knocked on the door. He would have probably just napped on this couch.
"You know it, Professor"
It was that comfy.
But he was getting lost in the couch and that was never good. "Can i come in Professor. I have questions that i hope you can answer"
He had all the questions this year. Who knows why.

One thing about teaching younger kids, you never received such a cool and laid-back answer like the one she just got. Interesting.
"'Course I do." Hmm. The young man looked all too comfortable there. In the back of her mind Astrid hoped no one would decide to take this spot as napping spot. It was not. It was a waiting area.
Making a sweeping motion with her hand, she gestured for him to enter. "You're welcome to come in." Maybe he'll soak up some of the sunlight streaming into her room and get some energy.
Up, up, up!
OOC: You can go ahead and post in the office. ^__^

The Gryffindor had not heard that the door of the office had been opened so much for constant vigilance eh? so he did a funny little jump in shock when he heard a voice.
Spark up a memory? what was she talking about? oh wait , the children in the portrait? Yoongi looked from the Professor to the picture and shrugged his shoulders. "not really" he laughed softly, brushing a strand of blonde hair out of his face and turned away from the picture. "They just look really happy in these portraits and i guess it made me smile..... .... are they your kids, Professor -- uhm.." he had forgotten her last name!

Another year, another Charms Professor. That's what he always said! Except. Not. But still! Kyroh hesitantly passed by the new professors door. He really, really wanted her to like him. It wasn't just that he wanted to learn this year and do good in his OWL's but he also just wanted ONE charms Professor to like him.
Was that too much to ask.
With a deep breath the fifth year knocked loudly on the door.

Astrid's hand shot up, covering an amused smile. Oh dear, she had scared the poor boy. "I did not mean to startle you." Nor had she realized how concentrated he had been on the portrait. She was glad though, that her portraits made him smile. She had put them up hoping it'd spark up positive energy.
Stepping next to him, she smiled at the children, who were waving and grinning, she nodded in agreement. "Baxter. Professor Baxter." He'd remember her name, she was confident of that. "And no. They are not my children. I found these portraits at an antique shop in Berlin and they simply caught my eye." She wasn't the only one it seemed.

Astrid was having a ball. Soft music from an older time played in the background as she tidied up her office. And by tidying up that meant moving Fabio's tank back to its original spot. She had moved him close to the window and the fish refused to leave his pirate ship. Sigh. Back near the bookshelf.
Just as she was about to feed Fabio, the Charms Professor heard a knock and paused. This was pleasant, having an office and students who knocked on the door first. Albeit a little loud it caused her to jump.
Fish food still in hand, she wandered over and opened the door. "Hello there." Was there an emergency? She heard him over her music, and even though it wasn't too loud it was enough for her to pause on feeding her precious fish.

“I know” he said, waving his hand as she told him that she had not meant to startle him. “I get startled very easily so it’s pretty normal for me” he said casually , like he was talking about the weather. It was true though, he got scared of almost everything , especially after the Acromantula incident a couple of months ago.
As the Professor stepped next to him to look at the portraits as well, he saw the children waving at them and he did a secret little wave back. Didn’t want the woman to know he was waving at a picture eh? “They’re not?” he looked genuinely surprised to hear that. “I thought they were” he said, looking back at the portraits. “So you have no children yourself, Professor Baxter?” he had forgotten something….. oh! He hadn’t introduced himself! “I’m Yoongi by the way, Yoongi Hyland. I was a charms specialty student before I went to Hogwarts” he grinned broadly because he needed to add that information.
It was some kind of luck that the very person Daxton intended to make use of right now was one who had the same sensitivity to sound as he did. Especially given what he needed required she do for him.
He arrived at the seating area armed with two important things: his ever-present notebook, and his earmuffs, obtained from the Greenhouses. Daxton knew he was taking a risk here, because the earmuffs were stolen and here he was taking them to another teacher. But he couldn't magic them alone and he was certainly not about to ask another student for help. Asking an adult was bad enough. In any case, she might just think the earmuffs were his.
And they were.
Well, they were now, anyway.
Daxton, who had already scoped out the seating area and therefore knew what to expect, stood in front of the door in his shabby uniform (no robes; robes were stupid), looking quite out of place in the decadent and elegant waiting area. He had at least worn his shoes today, for reasons.
Rather than actually knocking, though, Daxton merely stood there, a few steps back from the door. He stared at it, as though just by thinking hard enough he could summon the teacher and get her to allow him entry into the office.

Oh, so mister hand-waving gets startled easily. She wondered if he would ever like to do something about that. Astrid did consider asking that but as she didn't know him well, and didn't know the reasons behind him getting easily startled, she left it at that.
A small smiled almost slipped back onto her face. She would not admit to seeing that little wave out loud but...she SAW it. Her portrait children were working wonders already.
The brunette shook her head, folding her arms in a relaxed manner on her chest. "I do not. For now my students are my children." That probably sounded weird, but that's how she addressed her students back at Alicante and they absolutely loved it. They were under the age of ten, though.
"Yoongi Hyland," she repeated to get it right, accent and all. "It is nice to meet you." And he was a charms student! "You were, at what school?" Oh, how rude of her. "Would you like to come into my office?"

As it was, Astrid wasn't in her office. She'd actually gone out to stretch her legs for a bit and on her way in she stopped by the kitchens. The service here was great! The elves were kind and polite and fed her. So with a plate of cinnamon rolls, the Charms Professor made her way back to her office.
Her fingers wiggled over a certain cinnamon roll when she came to a stop behind a visitor. Oh. "Looking for someone?" Obviously.
Hopefully he hasn't been waiting there for long. Why didn't he take a seat?

Kyroh rooooocccked on his feet. Back and forth and back and forth and back and- oh. Open door. Glancing at the new Professor in front of him he stopped rocking and stared.
There were TWO things that entered his brain; One, it was WEIRD being taller than a professor. And TWO: While he had been paying attention during the feast he hadn't noticed that, she was so pretty?
Hi pretty charms professor!!!!!
Was he allowed to call a Professor pretty? Probably not.
Probably shouldn't say that. The Ravenclaw cleared his throat before grinning. "Um, hullo! My name's Kyroh, I sort of wanted to talk to you. I think. About Charms." Yes.

Hopefully he hasn't been waiting there for long. Why didn't he take a seat?
He had heard the approach of human-type noises, specifically footsteps, and Daxton stayed tuned into them even as he waited at the door. Mostly he was trying to work out if they were coming straight here, or just passing, but there was something else, too. A sickly sweet stench permeated the air, with an overpowering smell of cinnamon, and getting closer with the footsteps.
And then, the owner of said footsteps was behind him, and Daxton quickly turned and took a step backwards. Away from the woman, towards the door, before she could touch him or anything.
Ah. There was the source of the smell, then. Daxton made a face, then regarded the woman. Was it a stretch of the imagination to believe that this was the very person he was here to visit? She could just as easily be a fellow visitor, so he decided not to jump to that conclusion.
After a moment's consideration, Daxton nodded, then pointed at the door behind him in an attempt to express that he was waiting for... Professor Baxter.

Now this was odd. Astrid was not used to students being taller than her. Usually they were half her height. She had to remind herself she wasn't Alicante anymore and that Hogwarts was the land of the teeangers and growth spurts.
"Hello, Kyroh." Astrid smiled softly, tilting her head slightly. "You think you want to talk to me about Charms." Sort of. He sort of wanted to talk to her. What an interesting request. Standing back and making a sweeping motion with her hand--fish food still in hand--Astrid motioned him inside. "Of course, you are welcomed into my office."
Let's have this sort of discussion.

Astrid gave a step back of her own. Distance was needed, she understood. She also saw that little face made at her food. Well. Not everyone appreciated cinnamon rolls like she did. She understood that, too.
Gaze following the pointing, she nodded. He was here to see her. Nod, nod, nod. Astrid, for an odd reason, pointed at herself. What a unique quiet exchange!

Daxton was completely unfazed when she pointed at herself in return. In his experience, people did strange things all the time in everyday life, and he was never quite able to decipher what any of it mean. In fact, this situation probably made more sense to him than most others, because the woman - Baxter, he knew this now - had actually just signed to him the word 'me'.
It was one of the easier words.
He nodded in response, then also pointed at her.
Yes. You.
... Was this where he told her what he wanted? Daxton was unsure, so instead, he simply stood there, blocking the door and quite oblivious to that fact. He took hold of the earmuffs by one of the earpieces and span them around his hand, taking in the sight of the woman - Baxter... Professor Baxter - and her... food.
Ew.

Placing his hands in his pockets because he did not trust them waving at a painting again, Yoongi was glad that the Professor had not seen his little wave. He continued to look at the portrait of the children playing and then when the Professor told him she did not have any kids he wasn't sure if he should say i'm sorry or okay? He did bit his lower lip as he fought back a laugh when she mentioned that the students were her children. So cliche wasn't it? heh. "Well, if you don't mind Professor i'd rather call you professor Baxter or else i'll have three moms and that's confusing" he laughed.
Another thing he noticed was that she had an accent. Was she not from England? Well, he technically wasn't born here either, raised but not born. But it was rude to ask where someone was from only because they had an accent right?
"Charms school" obviously. "It's located in Great Britain, i spend my first four years learning there and then had to transfer to Hogwarts in my fifth year." he said. "its a school that although gives other subjects it specializes in charms on a higher level than what they teach here" part of why he picked up spells easily but was a disaster in subjects like potions or divination.
If he wanted to come in the office? He checked his watch and then shrugged his shoulders. "Sure" and then added "have you always been a charms professor before you came to Hogwarts?"

Her. She understood that. He was here to see her. M'hm.
Aware of the earmuffs, Astrid kept her gaze on the child. He didn't seem shy. Did he have trust issues with adults? There was some experience in that. Whatever the case, he was welcome into her office.
Lowering her hand, Astrid smiled a small smile and waved her hand. The door behind the boy opened at her command. "You are welcome to step inside," said, gently enough at to not pierce the silence too roughly

At the unexpected comment about three mothers, Astrid let out a soft laugh. Oh. He was amusing. "I would rather you call me Professor Baxter, as well." It would be just too odd being called 'mother' or 'mum.' Especially by someone old enough to be her brother.
So he came directly from the Charms School. She had to get her mindset out of primary school and assume she wasn't getting all the details. "I actually went there for a Charms' convention in '84. Very informative." So much information that day. "How come you moved to Hogwarts?" The question was out before she thought of it being rude. Which she wasn't being. She was just curious. Why move to a school like Hogwarts, with such a reputation.
And into her office they went. She waited for him to enter before following inside. "Yes. Although, at first I wasn't sure what I wanted to teach. Charms won me over."
