He simply nodded as she commented on his plans. It was good...had been good. It was the going back to school that was hard. It was the seeing Angel, smiling so much and happy that made what he decided the hard part. Benny really wished they had managed to get together over the summer to really talk but it hadn't happened. "That's great Angel," he remarked, truly happy she had been in her own niche all summer. But there was the comment about missing him.
"Listen...I have to say something. " That being said he paused, struggling with what he had to say. "I've had a lot of time to think over the summer. And one of the things that kept coming to mind is the future." The Gryffindor swallowing to fight the nerves. "You want to travel the world studying plants after graduation. I want to spend my time on a reserve or something working with dragons. And if there is anything I learned with my internship, is that I definitely want that part of my future."
Angel was looking at Benny as she spoke, was he breaking up with her or something like that, she was really upset about this. "I know what you mean, I want to explore plants and you want to spend loads of time with the dragons." Angel sighed, she looked down at her feet before she looked back at Benny waiting to see if he was confirming what she thought was going on in her head, she didn't want to ask the question because she knew she would be upset.

Benny noticed the change that came over Angel as he spoke and he waited for some kind of response. Had she already registered the direction he was heading with his words? He looked down, sticking his hands in his pockets as he works on pushing himself further with what he had thought of saying. "Angel...I think we need some time apart," he remarked, forcing himself to look back up at her.
" I mean...without us as boyfriend and girlfriend." Then had been together for a long time, for a lot of the time they had known each other. " We need to see how we are on our own. To see...if we're supposed to be together." Maybe she was better off without him, he wasn't going to stand in her way.

Angel looked down at her shoes again, now all she had to do was figure out why he was saying this, had she done something wrong, secondly where was her bff's when she needed them, she would find Leah and a couple of other later and ask them for advice.
"If that is what you want then I think I must go along with it." Angel was being truthful there, though she didn't like the idea. She wasn't going to try and force someone to change their mind.

Benny sighed as she looked down at her feet. He had gone and done it and for now at least he couldn't pull it back. He wouldn't because he was truthful in what he had said. The seventh year just wished he didn't have to hurt her so to do it. Even as she agreed to it, he could tell it bothered her...he wasn't that stupid or blind to her feelings.
He tentatively brought a hand to softly cup her face and gingerly lift it up. "I'm sorry Angel. I just don't want either of us just staying with the status quo because that's how its been being done before. I want you happy...even if it turns out there's someone better out there for you." Perhaps there was another herbology-loving guy who didn't like creatures she was afraid of. Dropping his hand he pulled back from her.
"I should probably go no then though...probably don't want to see me." And with that he slowly turned and let her be, exiting the compartment not wanting to haunt her while she was hurt because of him.
Angel just sat there, looking down at her feet as Benny spoke to her, why did this hurt her so much... she felt like her small heart was about to explode, she then felt his hand on her face and sighed before she heard what he said next about leaving. She went to speak but found no voice in her mouth.
Angel watched as Benny left the room, this had turn into the worst trip to Hogwarts. Why did she have to grow up. If this is what grown ups had to put up with she was going to find a potion to send her back to being ten. She had been carefree then and didn't care for boys and now she was wondering what her younger self would be thinking about it right now and then made her even more upset.
Angel just put her book down. She had been enjoying it until she had seen Benny but now she didn't want to read anything and all she wanted to do was go find a garden and plant a few different plants but she was on a train and so she just couldn't get off and find somewhere right?
Angel curled up on the seat and started to cry, she was on her own with no one there so hopefully no one would hear her. Her little heart was broken like crazy and she felt like listening to heartbreaker or a song to do with broken hearts.

Hady hadn't had a chance to speak with Angel much towards the end of the last term and due to some 'things' they didn't have their slumber party. Spotting Benny as she was looking for an empty compartment reminded her of this. Maybe Angel was inside the compartment the older boy had just come out of? It was worth a look since Hady knew the two were dating.
Making her way past a few people she cradled her cat in her arms. Sliding the compartment door open just a little to peek inside Hady was glad to find the person she was hoping to find was indeed inside. Only her joy was gone when she realized her older friend seemed to be crying. This couldn't be good.
Hady used her free hand to lightly tap on the door before sliding itv open a bit more. "Hey Angel, you okay?," She asked softly not wanting to startle her friend at all. Did the girl just need someone to talk to?

Angel was curled up on a seat, crying her eyes out. Seriously how could someone break someone's heart like this... well at least he had told her in person and not by letter or something like that so that maybe was a bit better than that.
Angel hadn't realised that anyone had come into the room and so she was a little bit startled to hear a girls voice and she thought about telling them to go away. The only thing was it was Hady and in someway she was glad her younger friend had found her. She thought about getting up but she changed her mind she just wanted to lay there her whole world was broken.
"Be... be....ben.....ben....benny ju...s....t spl....it u...p with m....m....m...me." Angel cried, tears flowing down her face more as she spoke, she thought she best tell her friend before she found out from someone else, now though was she allowed to stay on the train forever... she didn't want to leave this compartment. Seriously everyone was going to know about it soon right and she didn't like the thought of it. Angel just stared at her friend for a few moments before she looked away.
Kate loaded her luggage then climbed aboard the train. She patted her pockets, checking for the sweets she'd bought in Diagon Alley, then made her way through the corridors of the train. Merlin, it was crowded in here! She had planned on heading to the back of the train, but she doubted she wanted to edge through the crowds that far back.
Kate took a few more steps back then gave up. Yeah, she was SO not fighting the crowds any longer.
Kate stopped just where she was and peered into a compartment with a door that was still open just a little. Oh, look! It was Cinna! Kate slid the door open the rest of the way and entered with a big smile on her face. "Hey, Cinna," she said, walking in yet leaving the door open so somebody else could come in if they wanted. "These seats taken?" she asked.
If not, Kate would probably ride with Cinna to the school. The older Gryffindor was so cool--she knew how to style her hair and do her make-up just the right way! That was Kate's goal someday.

She sighed, already missing her boyfriend this was going to be a long term.
She heard the door slide open and looked up. It was Kate! Yay! She wasn't alone. This made her happy. The seven year (still not ready for this) liked the younger 'claw. "How was your summer?" She hadn't seen Kate around Diagon Alley, she had been around there a lot since Bart lived close by. She spent lots of time their. Anyway.... What else was she going to ask her? She got distracted by another guest to the compartment. Great the more the merrier. This was really coming from her.
"Hey, come on in." Since she was already in anyway. It was Janelle, she knew who she was but hadn't officially met her before. "I'm Cinna." In case she didn't know who she was and she was introducing herself as well. "No, we were just catching up on summer happening. How was your summer, Janelle?"

Then Janelle turned her attention to Kate. "How's it going roomie? Ready for the new school year?" Janelle couldn't wait to find out what her roommate had been up to. There'd be plenty of time for that on the train and later on.
As Kate made room for her, Janelle sat down and made herself comfortable. "Thanks you guys, for letting me join you. I really wasn't in the mood to ride by myself today." Reaching into her bag, Janelle pulled out several chocolate frogs. She had prepared for the train ride this time. There would be no starving while she waited for the feast to begin this year. Holding the candy out to the girls, Janelle spoke. "Can I interest anyone in some chocolate?" She believed that chocolate was good for every occasion. It was especially good for a train ride snack.
Hearing Cinna ask a question, Janelle turned to her. "My summer was great. I got to visit some friends and relatives in California. I pretty much do that every summer. Then got to spend time at home with my whole family. That was great because we are rarely all home at the same time." Janelle listened as Kate talked about her summer and waited to hear about Cinna's. She had a question for her too. "How does it feel to be a seventh year?" Janelle couldn't imagine. Her seventh year seemed so far away.
In the meantime, Janelle was determined to enjoy herself. This was going to be a fun ride. Reconnecting with old friends, meeting new ones. Yep, this was going to be a good year.

Brian was in the middle of a particularly engaging conversation with Timmy when he'd tripped over the bare floor and by the time he managed to get himself up, his best friend had abandoned him and all he could see were the backs of people's heads. Not that he'd find hers that way, because even though Brian knew exactly what the back of his bestie's head looked like, she wasn't the tallest person around. So he settled for searching the train compartments one by one.
She had to be around somewhere, right?
Finally poking his head into a compartment near the middle of the train -that was half the train searched, now- he found her. Sleeping. Hey, that was his thing. He was the sleeper. She usually woke him up so he didn't end up eaten by acromantulas. Squeeeeezing in because she'd taken up all the space, he poked the blonde's shoulder.
"Timmyyyyy," he whispered. "Wake uuuuuppp." He had candied peaches. Surely the scent of that would help in the awakening process. Prod, prod.
She was done for. Gonna have to ride the train alone.
Timmy was falling in and out of sleep, due to her not getting enough last night from the excitement of being with Brian almost every single day. Ha, take that summer vacation! She suddenly heard the door open and knew who it was without even looking. Brian whispered her name and for her to get up, but the blonde didn't budge. Instead, she decided to become all dramatic and whatnot. Why? Who knows.
"Briaaaaaan! Come back to me!" She called out, sliding half her body off the seats and till her head was touching the floor beneath her. "Don't leave me all alone, Briaaaaan! Brian Woooooooooods!" Since she didn't want to dance anymore, maybe she'd make a terrible actress and stick to it. Less dangerous than dancing.

Seriously everyone was going to know about it soon right and she didn't like the thought of it. Angel just stared at her friend for a few moments before she looked away.
When Angel didn't look at her or even reply for a few moments Hady wasn't sure what to do. She wasn't used to people crying especially not a friend and one that always seemed so cheerful. Thinking about backing up and stepping outside the compartment to let her friend have some alone time Hady shuffled from foot to foot.
As Angel finally began to speak Hady instantly noticed two things. One the girl was hysteral, tears pouring down her face. And two she was stammering. Badly. Not good signs at all. With how badly her friend was stammering it took Hady several moments to put together what she'd even said. Benny and her had broken up.
Letting out a small sigh the snakette slipped into the compartment and slide the door shut tight. Making her way over she sat on the seat across from Angel setting Hagan down at her side while she fished about in her pocket for some clean tissues holding them out to the crying girl. "Oh geez....um do you wanna talk about it?," she asked quietly letting Angel decide. She had no idea what it felt like to break up with a boyfriend but she did know what heartache was and right now what Angel needed was a friend.

Taking a seat opposite from the girl, Paulina gave a small smile. "Nice to meet you, Reagan. I'm Paulina. I'm new here, so I don't really know much of anything." Blush. Hopefully she wouldn't do anything to make a fool of herself - such as faceplant during the sorting ceremony. Now wouldn't that be hysterical for everyone??
To take her mind off of it, Paulina decided to focus on something else. "You working on something cool?" she asked curiously as she saw that Reagan was writing something down in a notebook. It wasn't homework, right? Did Hogwarts give out summer assignments?
Reagan was definitely no stranger to train rides herself. With her previous school's location in Russia, and with visits between her family members, she'd always enjoyed the lull of them. Maybe it was because of that peacefulness, that she'd had some of her best ideas on trains. Plus, she got to peer excitedly out of the windows, taking in nature; spotting the odd cow and horse pasture here and there.
"It's lovely to meet you, too." Scribbling one last thing in her passport notebook, which her gramma had gifted her, Rea tucked it neatly back into her satchel. Mmm, she could really go for some vanilla chai right now...with almond milk. MMM. "Are you new to the school system?"...Reagan had actually forgotten that 'homeschooling' was a thing until Keane had mentioned his own. She could understand the principle behind it but it seemed equally counter-productive. Social skills were so important.
Hmm?
"Oh...I was just jotting down recipe ideas." She offered another bright smile. "....I can tell you about Hogwarts...if you're curious."

[/spoiler]
This was good, now she had people to hang out with on the train. She wasn't going to have it ride alone. It did however make her miss the ones who she normally rode with even more. Life went on even without her other friends around. This company was nice. She smiled once she realized that the other two girls were dormmates. The best kind of friends to have. "Same with you, Janelle and thanks for the chocolate frog." Since she offered her one. Smiling at the younger girl. That was sort of a goal of hers this term. Officially meet people she knew from being around.
She listened to Kate talk about her summer first. Nodding when the 'claw said summer wasn't long enough. It really wasn't, but this summer could have last forever and still that might not have been long enough for her. Cinna then let Janelle go next with telling them about her summer. California cool! Sounds like they both had a great summer. That was great! Now it was her turn to share.
"I went to Australia, worked at the place I did my internship, spend time with my friends." That was pretty much it, minus the sad stuff with her nana passing but that was the sad stuff that would probably get her all emotional. Not that she wasn't already emotional with seventh year feelings. Speaking of which when Janelle asked her how it felt to be a seventh year. Honestly, "It hadn't sunk in yet." Really it hadn't and all sumner had been a struggle of your an adult now you don't need school to go back and finish your last year then do the adult thing. What a confusing age to be.
Colt finally managed to manuever his way to the middle cars. He kept going the wrong way and made his way all the way to the back of the train. The conductor had to lead him this way. He felt like a moron but hey he was new to this place. As he began to walk he noticed some compartments were filled and wondered where empty carts could be? He began to wonder aimlessly and wondered if someone could help him.
Angel just looked at her friend as she held out some tissue for her to use. "Th....tha....thank... thanks." Angel sighed as she tried to stop the tears from coming... though she was still curled up on the seat, she wished that Benny had found another way of telling her this.
Angel looked at her friends. "Tha...nks." Angel gave a weak smile as her friend decided to sit down and shut the door at least no one could see her like this now. "No...not re...ally." Angel didn't really want to talk about anything at the moment. She hated her life and all she really wanted to do was stay and sleep in this compartment.

Since she was going to be here for a while, Paulina had decided that it was a good idea to get as comfortable as possible. After giving a big stretch, she sunk further into her seat. This was the life and she wouldn't be getting up for a while unless she became hungry. At least there was a nice landscape to look out on!
"I went to Beauxbatons for six terms, but it's different from Hogwarts so I'm not too sure what I'm getting into." Hopefully she wouldn't make a fool of herself! Talking to someone helped her feel more comfortable, but she couldn't get rid of that niggling thought at the back of her brain.
Recipes sounded more interesting to talk about though! "Oh, so you like to cook? I'm not very good at it, but I can manage to make noodles without burning them." Well, that was HALF true; occasionally she managed to mess them up. "I'd love to hear about Hogwarts." Living in Japan, she didn't really hear much about the school, but she had been taken out of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang didn't sound like fun...So here she was!

"Bye Daddies! Bye Colin!"Oliver Tate Thomas-Borzekowski gave big hugs to both of his dads and placed a sappy kiss on the side of his brothers cheek before dramatically climbing aboard the Hogwarts Express. He hurried down the corridor, searching for the ideal place to be able to wave out the window. About halfway down he found just what he was looking for. The compartment was already occupied by another boy but Olly did not pay any attention to that fact.
His face was pressed against the window, his nose squished and his mouth creating a think layer of fog whenever he breathed. The first year raised his arm and waved enthusiastically as the train began pulling out of the station. This was his first time away from home for any extended period of time. He was more excited than nervous, but that didn't mean he wouldn't miss his family. He was grateful, at least, that Ellery was with him. Speaking of his sister, Olly turned away from the window when the rest of his family was out of sight. He and Ellery had boarded the train at the same time, but they must have gotten separated at some point soon after that. Olly simply shrugged - he would find her soon enough.
Oh yeah, he wasn't alone in the compartment. Oliver turned around fully to face the boy whose compartment he had barged into. Hopefully he hadn't minded.
"Hi," Olly said boldly, extending his arm toward the other boy. "Are you excited for HOGWARTS?" He barely even noticed that this boy looked older than Olly himself and had probably been to Hogwarts before. Not that it would have mattered anyway, Hogwarts should be an exciting prospect for someone of any age.

Angel didn't really want to talk about anything at the moment. She hated her life and all she really wanted to do was stay and sleep in this compartment.
"You're welcome," she whispered somewhat awkwardly when Angel accepted the given tissues. It was the least she could do really since she wasn't sure what she should say to help make her friend feel any better. There probably wasn't any words that could be said that would help in this situation anyhow.
Watching Angel silently for a moment Hady sat back in the seat, her hand smoothing the fur along Hagan's back making the small cat purr contently. At least he was happy. Chewing the inside of her cheek in thought Hady had almost thought that Angel wasn't going to say anything else, until she did. "I understand. Just know though that if you ever need someone to talk to I'm here. This might not be something I know about but I'll listen if you need me to." Breakups and relationships weren't Hady's best thing but being a good listener and a friend certainly was. "Maybe in a few weeks when you're up to it we can have that girls slumber party we wanted to have last term. Some time with your friends might just be what you need." She offered after a few minutes of silence. There was nothing like a group of girls getting together and having a great time to lift everyone's mood in the right direction.

Janelle was enjoying herself. She was hanging out with a seventh year. A seventh year! And of course, it was always nice to be spending time with Kate. Janelle was glad she had her for a roommate because she was cool and very easy to get along with.
When Cinna mentioned that she had been to Australia for the summer, Janelle was all ears. "What was Australia like? I've always wanted to go there." She had always been fascinated by all things "Down Under", especially the animals. Janelle loved all animals, magical and muggle alike. She dreamed of seeing kangaroos and koalas and all of the Australian animals in their natural environment. Muggle zoos were cool, but it wasn't the quite the same.
When Kate said that she wasn't quite ready for classes and homework, Janelle nodded her head. "I'm kinda ready for classes, I think. I am definitely not ready for homework though." Knowing the professors, they would probably have a ton of homework, right off the bat. "I wonder who our new professors will be.......and our new prefect." That was part of the fun of the feast. Finding out about all of the new staff and students was always exciting.

Colt was busy looking out the window to even notice someone had come into his compartment. He jumped when he heard the little dude mutter a hello to him. He shook his head and gave a polite small smile. "Hello.." Then he noticed he seemed to be a bit young. He must be a first year. Man this little dude had a lot of energy because he shouted out Hogwarts out loud. "Yeah yeah I am quite excited. I actually transferred from Durmstrang actually." He wondered if the little dude knew where that was. Ah well he seemed to have enough energy for him. "I see you're excited though." he pointed out to him. "What are you most excited for?"

Angel slowly got up from laying down, she had a feeling she wouldn't be allowed to lay there all the time, she wished that she had her father or mother with her so she could get a hug. "Well this is a right way to start my exam year." Angel sighed as she dried her eyes, she knew that her face would be a right mess but at the minute she didn't care all she wanted to do was get to Hogwarts and get into her dorm, she could skip the start of term feast right? maybe she would ask the head or her head of house.
Angel looked at her friend. "I appreciate it Hady." Angel gave her friend a weak smile, then she went back to frowning, she seriously just wanted to go somewhere to sleep, but her friend was going on about the sleepover they never had last term. "I don't know, I'll get back to you on that." Angel didn't want to be the gossip at the party and she was worried everyone would ask her awkward questions.

What? Hogwarts was the SECOND magical school this boy had attended? That wasn't fair! "Why did you go to Durmstrang?" Olly tried to keep his tone as politely curious as possible, but the question came out sort of demanding. He could not imagine why somebody would have chosen to attend some other school instead of Hogwarts, which was obviously the best school in the entire world. Olly had had another option but of course he had chosen HOGWARTS!
YES, Olly WAS excited, that was fairly obvious and did not need point out but he was not going to complain. He turned his focus toward the question that had been posed for him. What was he MOST excited for. "EVERYTHING," he proclaimed, throwing his hands into the air dramatically. What was there not to be excited about? "Learning MAGIC, exploring the CASTLE, meeting FRIENDS."
"I'm Oliver, by the way. Oliver Tate Thomas-Borzekowski." He had a long, important-sounding name because he was obviously a very important person.

Colt was impressed with his first question, seems like the kid got straight to the point. He cleared his throat before answering and began with, "Well I went to Durmstrang because my mother originally lived northern Europe but then her job moved her to London which is why I am going to Hogwarts." Sounded like a simple explanation but there was so much more detail that he wouldn't get into. He laughed at this kids answer about Hogwarts. He seemed to be excited about everything. "To be honest I am kind of excited about everything too." Especially exploring the castle tidbit. He wanted to know the secret passageways. He also wanted to know how the lessons were gonna progress.
He heard the little dudes name and he nodded, "Man you got a long name. I don't think I would be able to remember that. Kudos to you man." Seriously that was a tongue twister. "I am Colt. Colt Winchester. Nice to meet ya dude." he held out his hand for a handshake. Might as well teach him young right? "What do you think the castle holds? I am thinking it might be a dragon.." I mean it could right?

Alright fine, Olly supposed that made sense. Though he still did not think it was fair that this kid was able to go to multiple different wizard schools. Maybe Olly would too, or he would go to THREE just so he could be the winner. Not that he wanted to go anywhere other than Hogwarts but that wasn't the point. The point was that he liked to win.
Kudos. Olly didn't know what that meant. Was it a kind of candy? Was Colt going to give him candy? When the moment passed and the first year was not given any candy he was a little disappointed, but it didn't last long because he reminded himself that he had plenty of candy packed away in his own trunk. More than his dads knew about that was for sure. He dragged his thoughts away from candy and smiled at the boy. "Hello Colt." It was a short name. Four letters, just like O-L-L-Y, the shortest version of his own name. Olly eyed the boys hand. He wanted a handshake now? Olly had offered his hand right away but had withdrawn it because Colt had not shook his hand. He wanted to NOW? Perhaps Olly hadn't held his own hand out long enough, he had been known to be a little impatient. In any case, he gave the older boy a firm, enthusiastic handshake.
"There's a GIANT SQUID!" Did Colt know about that, huh? "It lives in the lake and eats fish and stuff. Do you think there might be mermaids in the lake, too? Or sharks? I don't think there's a Dragon because it might breathe fire and burn down the whole school." That would be very, VERY bad, so Olly didn't think the professors would keep such a dangerous animal around. "There are probably lots of secret passageways beneath the castle and stuff." It was SO OLD, there were probably tons of places nobody even knew about anymore.
