Before entering the classroom you'll see a big parchment sign next to the door in curvy noticeable letters that reads:
Task before entering the History of Magic Classroom:
Located next to the door is large rack of costumes, a variety of hats and masks as well as dress up make up and accessories like glasses and bags. Your task is to choose a costume and/or a mask from the rack and dress up as your favourite witch or wizard from magical history. (no creatures please, otherwise no limits.)
After you put on that costume, fixed that mask, adjusted your hat askew or added that last bit of eye-shadow so you look like the author Bathilda Bagshot or someone else famous from magical history then head into the classroom. Once fully inside you'll see rows up on rows of desks in pairs of three in a slightly misaligned order that leads up to the professor desk as well as the black board and on the wall to the left of the blackboard a large floor to ceiling book case. The air you feel is slightly on the crisp and icey side in the classroom even though warming spells are in place. A consequence of the winter weather and the fact that you are taught by a ghost.
Professor Helena is sitting on the edge of her desk, waiting for her students to arrive.

And the patiently waiting didn't seem to take too long as Helena continued and said for them to push the desks to the side of the room and find a partner. Yes Tia heard Sophie snag the young gryffindor girl for a partner, which somewhat surprised her but also Tia was NOT going to take the opportunity to seek out Zander for a partner. She'd be friendly with him, sure, but partnering was way outside the question.
No, she needed to aim higher. Maybe this would be a good exercise to partner with a Caleb or a Cutty. Were they even still taking History or did they drop it for their final years? Sigh.
Maybe since this was History of MAGIC, she could use spellwork, it would be easier than choosing a partner ...

"Y'wanna be partners with me?" Suddenly she heard a familiar voice and realized that it's Sophie Brown and she wanted to partner up with her.
THE HEAD GIRL SOPHIE BROWN WANTED TO PARTNER UP WITH HER, A HELPLESS CLUELESS FIRSTIE!!!
It seemed like Ava had a charm to attract the leaders to partner up with her. First, Zander Adair wanted to do charms homework with her and helping her out at her first potions class. And now the Head Girl wanted to be her partner. She couldn't help but BEAM, who doesn't want to partner up with the awesome and fun head girl like Sophie?
"Sure!" The young lioness grinned excitedly to the Head Girl. This would be interesting.

Norah scribbled all the notes she possibly could as the Gray Lady spoke. It just seemed relevant, considering who she was dressed up as. Maybe next time she'd know a lot more about Dumbledore and would have loads of good facts to tell people 'cause Dumbledore was obviously a super cool guy.
Pushing her lopsided half-moon glasses up her nose, and stood up from her chair and squinted through the lenses at the rest of the students. Finding a partner always seemed so much harder than it should be. She COULD look for a younger student to help but then if she didn't know what to do she'd just look useless, the truth behind which was debatable, so she didn't like to think about it too much. She spotted Tia a few desks over. The Ravenclaw didn't seeeeem like she had a partner yet, and she couldn't really remember the last time they'd interacted so it was the perfect opportunity, right? Plus she was a Ravenclaw so maybe she'd be good at whatever they had to do.
Norah made her way over and gave Tia a little wave. "Want to be my partner? You don't have to, but y'know. I'm here if you need one." Yes no maybe so?

So maybe the two Slytherin boys had decided to drop History for their final year. Or she just didn't notice them or they just completely forgot about her and partnering and all that jazz. But if there was one thing for certain was that the voice that asked want to be my partner? was so innocent sounding that Tia did not have the heart to refuse. Not to mention, upon glancing over to see who the voice belonged to, it was Norah who was quite brilliant in her own right - it was no wonder she was a Prefect. So pretty much it was either partner with Norah or some other choice who would probably be far worse. And who could refuse such an innocent face?
Smiling back at the fifth year, she nodded. "I do need one and I would love to be your partner." So that was a yes. Female brain power could totally tackle whatever it was Professor Ravenclaw would have them do!

Partner?
Oh. Hm. This would be interesting. Instinctively he looked toward Sophie Brown... Who had already claimed one Ava Burton. Okay, that was fine. Everything was fine. No big deal. People were probably sick of seeing the two partner up so much lately anyways. Whatever. No harm done. Zander Adair WAS FINE, OKAY PEOPLE?
Sweet Merlin everyone made these things such a big deal. But Zander was F-I-N-E. He was just PEACHY.
Wait? No one was saying anything about it? Oh. Okay then, YEAH just the way he liked it. Right. Well anyways, as the clocked ticked by Zander was slowly starting to drown in a sea of partnerless despair.
He could go ask Tia? YES. Wonderful, yeah that's what he was going to do. Except... Just as he was a step away, Norah took the opportunity straight from his hold. Which was only horrible because Norah had been another option Zander was considering. Cinna also had a partner now, Benny and Adi were understood partners for life, and uh maybe Dot? Yeah Dot. Zander had done Prefect things with her anyways, so they already sort of knew each other sort of YEAH Dot would be-- Man. And now she was taken too.
Merlin, who DIDN'T have a partner?
... Well... That Ravenclaw kid didn't have one? The one who was always running around after Sophie. "Eeeer, wanna partner up?" C'mon kid, there weren't any others left, really. Zander was the best bet. Mhm.
Dot shoved back her chair and desk as instructed, although she had a vague sense of... unease. They were going to see what it was like to be giants? That sounded like someone was levitating someone else, and levitating people was actually pretty tricky. Hopefully no one dropped her on her head.
Finding a partner was actually the current stress, since she was tempted to hang back and see if someone actually wanted to be her partner. One of her housemates, a fourth year, caught Dot's eye, and she waved at him. "Looking for a partner? I am too."
Seemed that everyone was getting a partner and Hugo was standing here all alone. He should go and ask someone, yeah, that would work. When he was about to do it, he saw Dot waving at him. Great. "Let's be partners then" no need for looking around anymore. Thanks Merlin. "What do you think we're gonna be doing?" asked Hugo with his arms crossed.

Frankie knew all about giants. They were big. They were mean. They were stupid. They grunted a lot. They ate children for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And he personally had slayed plenty of giants in his day -- well, at least in his dreams he did. But the point of the matter was that this Gryffindor was very knowledgable about the species. He remained in his seat quietly doodling, keeping all of that precious knowledge to himself, because he was sure the ghost would have annoyingly corrected him in some way.
His blond head perked up a bit when all the blabbing seemed to cease and everyone started looking for partners. They were going to see how it felt to be super tall? Finally the class was going somewhere! Frankie frantically looked around the room for Zeke because they totally would have made the TALLEST and LOUDEST and MEANEST giant together. Sadly, he ended up sighing disappointedly when he couldn't find his roommate. Time for Plan B, even though it wasn't very ideal.
Angel looked around the room as the Professor spoke, so she needed a partner right, this was going to be interesting, she couldn't wait to see what they were going to do next. "Anyone want to be my partner?" Angel smiled as she looked for one of her friends.

With the students busy, finding their partners and moving the furniture as instructed Helena made a flashing red starting/finish line appear on the floor. Gesturing for everyone to gather around her, Helena said "Each pairs task is to get across the room to other side, high up near the ceiling there are candy baskets and your task is to get one honeydukes candy bag down for each of you." At his point Helena pointed to the candy baskets. There was nothing like candy to motivate students into action hopefully.
"However there are some stipulations. You need to cross the room together as a pair with one of the pair standing tall on the other person's shoulders all the way from the start as you make your way across the room or you'll never reach the candy baskets. To get the candy bags down you need to both count off 5 former history of magic professors and 5 former hogwarts headmasters and/or headmistress. When you've done that you need get back across the room and over the finish line with one person still standing on the other person's shoulders, keeping their balance and holding on to the candy."
"When you've crossed the finish line hopefully without injures you can sit to the side on the desks, feast on your candy and cheer on your peers." Helena finished off.
Rules for the little Giant race/activity:
• In a minimum of 4 posts each, every pair is supposed to choose who is standing tall as a giant on top of the other persons shoulders, as one giant you make your way across the room at a sprint or slowly depending on each pairs surety of balance. At the baskets, you count off 5 former Hogwarts history of magic professors and 5 former headmasters/headmistress each loudly. When you've done that you can reach up, since your tall as giants now and take down one candy bag each from a basket.
• After you get the candy bags down you need to balance your way back across the finish line still as one giant; with one of you still standing on the other's shoulders. (It's optional if you want to switch who is standing tall on top at this point and who is walking/balancing below on the way back over the finish line you can. )
• No using wands
• The floor is charmed so if you crash you shouldn't hurt yourself too badly except for minor scrapes and bruises.
• Please title your activity posts with 'Post # 1' etc
• Have fun with it! Be creative, go a little nuts but within School and Site rules of course.
• Activity closes when I wrap up the lesson on late sunday afternoon/evening GMT.
• Member still without partners are Daydreamer 11 and Harry174, please someone snag them.
• Any questions/concerns PM me.

"Yo! Brookie! We're pairing up!"
Brooklyn did acknowledge that the likelihood of anyone just up and offering to be her partner without her having said she was looking for someone was slim. She just had come to the feeling that anyone who needed to urging to do so wasn’t worth being her partner anyway. Like, she rarely had said anything about needing a partner in the lessons in the past where she’d worked with Hady. And she hadn’t asked Ethan to make planets for her back in first year. There were plenty of examples of why she didn’t have to actually expend the energy in looking for a partner. Plus, she still hadn’t quite decided what their costumes had to do with giants, or what exactly they were going to be doing that would give them the experience of what it was like being a giant. Although, if there was climbing involved, she’d looked to see if Ethan was around. Since Benny was out of the question.
Her older snake ally was nowhere to be seen, though. Actually, aside from Dot and Hugo, she was seeing a serious lack of green in the room in general. Not counting the famous people costumes, but then hers was still green. She liked green. That was that, and it looked good with her hair. She’d been resigned to not having a partner, or having to get the Grey Lady to tell someone to work with her. At least, until she heard a familiar voice, and a nickname she really wanted to ignore. Except, there were occasions he wasn’t entirely annoying, and it did give her another example in her list of instances where she hadn’t had to actually do anything to get a partner. Therefore, after a moment or two more, she turned to look at Frankie with an exaggerated sigh.
“Okay fine.” But he wasn’t doing anything stupid. She’d toss a bird at his perfect blonde head if he did.

"Cool, yup! It will be!"Henric grinned back at Paulina. Okay...the rules were simple enough to understand. So they had to grab those candy baskets from that ceiling across the room together while one of them was propped on top of the other's shoulders. After that, they had to recite 5 former HOM professor and 5 former Hogwarts Headmaster/Headmistress before crossing back to the starting line. Pfft...easy! One problem...there was no way Henric would mount on Paulina's shoulders! The poor girl might had a hard time carrying him.
"Paulina,I can lent you my shoulders for the whole entire game, you just need to grab those candy baskets above,*ehem* you don't mind, right?"he asked her, his cheeks glowed a little red at the prospect of a girl on his shoulders. But it would be easy for him to carry her though and he was tall enough for them to reach those baskets. On the side note, where was his bestfriend anyway? He wondered if llia had already partnered up with someone else already.
Angel looked around the room as the Professor spoke, so she needed a partner right, this was going to be interesting, she couldn't wait to see what they were going to do next. "Anyone want to be my partner?" Angel smiled as she looked for one of her friends.

They need to stand on the other person's shoulders all the way from the start? She should have choose a boy as a partner. Or a first year. But Angel would do.
Candice eyes diverted from the Professor to Angel. "How much you weight?" If Angel was lighter than her she could do stand on her shoulder.

Professor Helena, you're a zillion times more awesome. As for this activity in general, Adi already knew who was going to be on who's shoulder. Benny ALWAYS carried him around on his back whether it be a piggyback or for a ride in dragon form. Why should they switch it up when it came to shoulders?
"Benny, let me up on those shoulders!'' Adi was already super excited for the activity AND the sweets. And his bestie having to carry him should come as no surprise, right? NOPE! He was used to this. Hehe. Of course Benny had to stoop so that Adi could actually get on... whenever you're ready, Dragon!

Yep, they were certainly going to have to go and do what Benny was thinking. It wasn't like magic was often used in History of Magic class. Sure enough, the Grey Lady was laying out the plans and the rules for the activity, the partners to stand on each others shoulders. Oh boy...not. The Gryffindor looked to his friend, pretty sure who was in whose place, he just hoped his exercising had helped strengthen him since the summer. Cause the weight on his shoulders was going to be worse than on his back.
Benny nearly rolled his eyes at Adi's instruction. "You better have lost weight," he teased as he kneeled down on one knee near a desk. The bent limb in place to help his friend to get further up. "Be Gentle," he added, ready to stand up once his best friend was in place.

This was horrible. She was small for her age...like first year small. Shouldn't that mean someone would want her as a partner? Obviously not though. Hady crinkled her nose as she looked from the groups of partners up towards the baskets of candy.
Maybe she would sit this one out. It's not like she needed the candy or anything. She had a stash of her own, always did. Only it was a class assignment. Either someone could come pick her or she'd eventually be paired off with someone by the professor.
Hady heard the kid before she really saw him rushing over to her. A fellow snake and an adorable one at that. Apparently she was his. Hopefully the firstie meant as in partners cause he was out of luck otherwise. Hady belonged to no one.
Laughing quietly she nodded. "Sure. I can hold you up. Shall we do this?" She smirked at the kid. They had this.

Mhm.
Please?
Did he want to partner up? Rooney blinked at the offer from the Head Boy and shrugged. "We need to be giants, or somethi--" That was when their Professor started to talk again and explain the task ahead of them. Now, Rooney didn't want to announce it to everyone, but he was very in tune with the names of past Professors and Heads of the school. At one point, he was able to recite them in reverse order back a hundred years. But no one needed to know that. Giving the Head Butthead a shove, Rooney whispered that he would be his partner and then continued to listen to Professor Helena.
Sweets.
It was a good job that Rooney had a sweet tooth, but these Professors were either trying to rot their teeth or get them addicted to the sugar in the sweets.
"Mrs Zander Adair, you're going to have to hold me up." Because there was no way that the second year was holding him up or leaving him to list what they needed to. No way. "I know more names than you." And his head didn't weigh fifty thousand tonnes. "Now crouch down so I can get up." Was Miss Sophie Brown watching him tell her boyfriend what to do? Was she? Did she think he was funny?

Right...Adi likely ate too many sweets to let his exercising actually lose weight. Speaking of such, Benny snorted at the teasing. "I guess we'll find out," the Gryffindor half teased back, his friend in more danger than if it didn't all work out. He braced himself as Adi climbed first on his leg and then his shoulder, grunting once both feet were up on top of him. But it was his standing that was the hardest and Ben definitely had to use the desk beside him to pull himself up to his full height.
Then it was a challenge of wiggling and wobbling as they two of them tried to adjust. "Trying not to , Griff." Benny did his best not to stagger as he got used to the weight and force, the better not to jostle the boy above. He paused as Adi instructed him forward, needing a second or two more before he started nearly forward. Slow at first before gradually gaining speed until finally they were near the first basket, the seventh year needing to look up to check.

Great exercise for life, thank you Hogwarts. "Hey! Janelle right? Want to partner up?" he smiled kindly down at her.
Janelle was beginning to think that she was going to remain partnerless .........again. Everyone seemed to have already paired up, but she continued to search for someone who was still solo. Janelle was about two seconds from standing on her desk and shouting out for a partner. Fortunately, she didn't have to take such drastic measures.
Just in the nick of time, she was saved. And who was her hero, you might ask? It was none other than the Ravenclaw Prefect, Benzi. She couldn't believe her luck. A prefect was asking to be her partner...........not just any prefect........her Prefect and he was a seventh year to boot. Janelle guessed that the saying, "Good things come to those who wait", was true.
Looking up at her partner to be, Janelle said, "Absolutely". Too eager? Trying to tone her enthusiasm down a bit, she added, "I'd like to be your partner." Knowing that there was only one way this pairing could possibly work, she decided to test Benzi's sense of humor. "So, do you want to give me a ride or would you like to hop on my shoulders?" Amazingly, Janelle was able to keep a straight face.......for a second.
