If permitted to enter the highly exclusive and incredibly pink palace of Headmistress Anastasia Reina (née Bunbury) Truebridge, please take a moment to allow your eyes to adjust. The current occupant of the Head chambers has distinct fashion tastes unlike any of her predecessors. And yes, she does re-do her office every three few years.
The large, thick black desk, which is easily the largest item in the room, rests on a fairly new, geometrically patterned pink and black carpet. In front of the desk are two nearly new black and pink, modernly styled guest chairs; behind it is what can only be described as a veritable throne. This, obviously, is where the Headmistress sits when she is in the office. If you're here to speak with her, you might as well have a seat in one of the guest chairs. You aren't welcome elsewhere in this office.
As you take your seat and look around, you'll notice that the room is lush with healthy green plants in black pots; new black curtains which are usually pulled back from the spacious windows; books and magazines scattered on matching black wooden end tables; and lots and lots of framed personal photos. Most of the photo occupants (the ones that you can see, anyway) are the Headmistress' husband, a former professor himself, and a baby photo of her now nine-year-old son, who is certain to grow up to be a genius. The largest photo, which sits facing the Headmistress' throne and the large window behind it, is of the three Truebridges from before they left Egypt.
The other frames on the walls of the room include portraits of former headmasters; a glass-encased man's cane; and a framed scrap of paper from one of Hogwarts' own student publications. In the back corner of the room, near the door that leads to the rest of the Headmistress' chambers, is a collection of very rare brooms locked up inside a black wood corner cabinet. In front of the cabinet sits a large pink wicker basket, usually containing a very pampered, very fat ginger cat. This is Gingersnapple.
Gingersnapple is most protective of his master's chambers, so if you truly wish to speak the Headmistress in her office, be aware that you are doing so at your own risk. Please note: This room is an animal-free zone... with the obvious exception of Gingersnapple.
OOC: You absolutely may not enter this office unless given the password or given IC/OOC access by the Headmistress. If you RP yourself here without following instructions, your post will be deleted.
Such polite little ones. Headmistress Spore enjoyed the company. She really had been in a talkative mood lately, "Good day" She said to the next little one (Hady) that spoke to her. Giving the badged boy another smile she nodded, "I know it won't. You weren't given that badge for no reason." Responsibilities came with it and she knew the boy would make sure the precious plants would be taken care of.
"Hello, how are you today?" She spoke to the next child (Brooklyn) who was chatting with her. "This all just seems very exciting. So many of you came to visit today." Were the other portraits noticing this? She looked around seeing that their eyes were wide open as well. "Hello" another boy (Kace) was speaking to her.
Her eyes turned to Headmistress Truebridge as she began to explain. "Mapping the school? That is exciting." Her eyes moved around to the students and professor, "So much to see in this school. I do hope you get it all." She watched with more interest now as the Headmistress gave out some instructions.
"Good luck everyone." She hoped they'd share their end result, because it sounded interesting.

Giving the Portrait another warm smile Hady slowly her attention to the Headmistress when she began to talk. So they'd be breaking up into two different groups this time? That sounded alright with her. Shifting slightly she looked around to see who was going where.
Not many have already decided where they were going. So without much thought on the matter the small brunette made her way to stand near the Headmistress's Group. She'd go along with this group. Hopefully they'd see some interesting things. Either way she was sure it'd fun.
Getting dragged to the Headmistress group *pokes zander*
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Kevin of course ignored the portraits words of it being impolite that he had said eww after saying the Headmistress pink office. And it seemed that the woman herself hadn't noticed it so he didn't bother saying an apology. When she spoke again about dividing in to two groups, Kevin thought about which group was the best for him and in all honesty, it was Tanner's group. But before he could announce that he would go with that group he saw Zander looking at him expectantly and the Gryffindor knew what he meant. Call it three years of friendship. He sighed and then nodded. He would go with his best friend.
Girls bathroom? This caused the fourth year Gryffindor to grin as he leaned towards his best friend. "Maybe? i wonder what it looks like" was it the same as the boys bathrooms or was it something completely different?
"Of course you can," Annie replied softly, glancing at Gingersnapple. He was now flicking his tail around, which was a sign he was alert and interested in their visitors.
As for the children...
"I'd like us to split into groups now, please," she addressed them all sweetly. "Professor Tanner will take half to the Arithmancy side of this floor and I'll take the other half out in the corridor leading to the girls' bathroom. If you'd like to go with Tanner, you can head back down the escalator now. My group, let's hang behind for a moment to allow them a head start."
At the permission from Truebridge, Toby grinned and went ahead and pet the cat, giving him a scratch behind the ears and running his hand down the cat's back, exactly how he would have liked to pet Bludger all the time if his own cat wasn't quite so temperamental. "Hiii." Toby stayed petting the ginger cat for a while, probably more focused on that than he should have been, but he tuned back in to what was going on just in time to hear the headmistress talking about splitting into groups.
Tanner was already off, and a large portion of the kids in here at the moment seemed to be staying. Toby might have found it a lot more difficult to pick a group if they were already even (it was easier when it didn't feel like they were picking a favourite PERSON to group with, y'know? that just felt mean), but in this situation he was thankful that he could choose to even out the groups instead.
"I'm coming too," he quickly called out, as Tanner led the way off to her office. But before he left, Toby gave the princely ginger cat another scratch under the chin and a pat between the ears and a, "G'bye kitty." It's been super real.
Then, with a smile at the headmistress and a glance the others in the room, Toby crossed the office again and headed off back down the stairs to catch up with Professor Tanner.

Wow, the Headmistress sure had a nice looking office. Curiously Lux looked around until her attention was grabbed by another talking portrait. This one seemed really friendly too. "Hello," she said with a smile while wondering if she was a former Professor or Headmistress.
There wasn't much time to dwell on things though, as everyone was being split up in groups. Honestly she wasn't sure where she wanted to be, but after a moment decided on Professor Tanner. She was a nice woman and Lux really liked her - though of course she liked the Headmistress too! It also looked like most people were staying behind, and Lux didn't want to be unfair about that.
Following Toby, Lux left the office so that she could join up with her group.
When Anastasia meant business, she meant business. They had barely been in her office for two minutes before she made the executive decision to move on. Tiara didn't care either way, so she took the whole thing in stride.
No need to beat around the bush, then. "Okay, Team Tanner, we'll start at my office! Move out!" Tiara led the way down the stairs.
As Kace was waiting to hear information about what was going on he heard they were going to be split into groups. He wanted to go with Tanner because he wanted to explore the Arthimancy side of the castle. He turned to the portrait and nodded towards her. "How are you today?" He wondered what the portraits did for fun? It must be boring stuck in there all day.
Alright time to go. He left to with Tanner and the other students. This should be an interesting cartographer club meeting. He went down the stairs and followed Tanner.

As for the children...

"You're welcome," Kate said with a smile. It was true, what she'd said. Kate loved pink and thought it really brightened up any room. Especially this room. It looked like a palace! Oh, and look--the royal pet was coming her way! Kate knelt down and began to pet the pretty cat. "So beautiful," she said to it, although she knew it couldn't understand her. She continued to rub behind its ears as she looked toward the Headmistress, who was announcing something about splitting up.
Kate had just gotten the attention of the pretty cat, so she decided to stay behind and join the group with the Headmistress. "You have such a sweet cat," she said to the Headmistress. "How long have you had her?" She seemed really loyal for a cat. Kate had heard horror stories about cats, but this one seemed so friendly.

Okay, that was quick. But maybe the Headmistress didn't really want them in her office any longer than necessary. Not that she could blame her. If she was the Headmistress, she would feel the same way.
Heather decided to join the Truebridge's group because she really couldn't see her leading them to a swamp, then splashing around in it and dousing everyone in the process. Plus, she'd get to work with people she hadn't before. So that would be interesting. And boys.

Puck smiled over to Headmistress or should she have said Dame Spore’s Portrait. “Yes, Ma’am, I read about you in History of Magic, I am Puck Greyvson – Gryffindor Prefect” she smiled over to the former Headmistress and gave her a little indication to a bow as she introduced herself…to a painting. She then turned her attention back to Headmistress Truebridge and smiled.
“How could not notice you have a pink throne,” She smiled over to the Professor and felt just slightly like the Headmistress liked her a little more than she had during the last meeting. Yep. No one was going to sit on her this time.
When she heard where they could go she just crinkled her nose as she thought. Bathroom…it was going to be the…wait Kace was leaving? Puck frowned at him when she saw him heading down the stairs.
She was about to ask a question when she glanced around panic! PANIC IN THE OFFICE...and with that she just slipped dashed down the stairs to catch up with Kace.

"Gingy is a boy, actually," Anastasia replied to Kate with a light laugh. "And I've had him for... something like twenty years now? Goodness, I don't even know. He has to be part kneazle or something, though, because he just... he KNOWS things. He's not like an ordinary cat." She slowly turned her head to watch him work the crowd of the room as she said that, as though he could hear exactly what she was saying about him...
Tip one to being a cat was to play the dumb and loveable furball on occasion, and that was precisely what he was doing today. Gingersnapple was actually looooooooving all this attention though, not going to lie. None of the children trying to pet him had sticky or rough hands, and all of them knew how to do a cat a solid. He heartily approved of these pet-pets, letting out a deep, throaty purrrrrrrrr as he ran his head and spine all around both the boy human's and the girl human's hands. Yasssss. Rawrrrrrrrrr. Okay. Pet-petting done, he lazily strutted over to his basket in the corner for a nap.
He'd graced them with his presence enough for today. Now time for naps. Shoo, humans, shoo.
And that was their cue to get going. The cat was in the basket! Anastasia signalled for the children to round up and follow her down the escalator. "Of course you can join," she replied quietly to the boy who had sidled up to her. Silly Gryff. "We're heading straight for the girl's bathroom on the second floor, everyone. I believe you'll find it to be an interesting location...."
She led the way first with a small wave of farewell to Headmistress Spore. For now.

Zander was just about to reply to Kevin, when that Ravenclaw girl (Evie) walked by and commented on what the boy had just whispered to Kevin about the girl's bathroom. Needless to say, Zander was mortified. Couldn't even keep himself from getting all pink in the face. Oh Merlin. Though he was relieved that she had clearly chosen to go in Professor Tanner's group. Ahem.
Anyways.
He stayed quiet, watching the others walk out of the office, but kept glancing over at the Headmistress for further instructions for their own group. So uh, about the Girl's Bathroom? And as if Truebridge could read minds-- wait could she because uh oops-- they were going to START there?! Was this like a Christmas miracle or what?! Uh. Right.
Turning to Kevin, he gave the boy a huge, goofy smile. "An interesting location huh?" Oh wait. He was trying to be cool, remember? Eh. So much for that. Anyways, Headmistress was moving on now so he quickly straightened his robes before following right behind, turning back only slightly just to make sure Kevin was right behind.

What was that? Oh, they were going now. Going to the girls' bathroom. She still wasn't very comfortable with the idea of a bunch of boys coming into the girls' bathroom. Interesting location? The bathroom did have an interesting history, and it was where Myrtle lived, but Penelope didn't really find it that interesting. It was a bathroom, and she often went into that bathroom. There wasn't really anything interesting about mapping a bathroom that you frequently used, ghost or no ghost. Penelope followed the headmistress down the stairs.

Hady followed along with the Headmisstresses group. The girls bathroom wasn't such a big deal but maybe to the boys it was. Quietly she kept up behind everyone else her hands in her pockets.
This would be interesting surely. Only one way to find out really. Lets get on with it. To the girls bathroom they go!

A silvery fox darts into the room, bounding around it once before coming to a complete stop. At this point the distinct voice of the Charms Professor can be heard:
"We...have a bit of a situation--maybe not a bit...you might want to come to my office. I'm afraid we've got ourselves a real issue on our hands."
Then just like that, the figure vanishes.

'A bit of a situation?' 'A real issue?' What kind of talk was this?
The Headmistress looked up from the papers she was reviewing and set the parchment off to the side. She lowered her husband's reading glasses as well and debated the urgency of this patronus message. It was from Quigley, who had documented issues himself with handling student discipline... so she supposed she could go....
Annie put out the few candles in her office with a flick of her wand and headed for the staircase down.

This had been a rough week. A long, rough week, and Anastasia was not looking forward to the letter she had been putting off for a few days now. She sank into her throne with a deep sigh and picked up her quill. Smoothing out her fresh sheet of parchment, the Headmistress paused to adjust her son's baby picture beaming at her from a frame on her desk.
Oh, Merlin. Somebody's son was dead. Dead. Dead.
This was not going to be a pleasant letter home....

Resident Ghost of Gryffindor | Chivilrous & Sociable
Floating through the Headmistress' closed door - because ghosts had no need for knocking - he floated eagerly towards the woman's desk with a wide grin spread across his face. Helena and the others should not be too terribly far behind as well.
"Good day, Headmistress. Do forgive the intrusion, but I come bearing some interesting news!" he announced with his arms out wide to either side. About to dive right into the details, Sir Nicholas stopped when he saw the colour of the Headmistress' face. Had he not known better, he would have mistaken the woman for a ghost herself.
Resident Ghost of Ravenclaw | Intelligent & Evasive
Floating through the Headmistress closed office door just behind Sir Nicholas she stopped to hover just inside the door. Headmistress Truebridge didn’t look well at all where she sat on her throne like chair. Would their news add to the burden that was already making the headmistress white as a sheet?
Silently floating up beside her good friend Helena asked tentatively. "Is this a bad time? Should we come back later?"

Ooooooooh. A chill. A chill was sweeping through her office now, and the Headmistress did not like it. Obviously she could feel them before she heard them. The ghosts.
"Now is fine." She dropped her quill dramatically and looked up at Helena and Nicholas, folding her hands in front of her in a small steeple. Instinctively they went toward her forehead to rub at her temples, as though she could feel a headache coming on.
Well, if this was good news, it could be a welcome distraction. "What is the news?" The Headmistress leaned back in her seat and looked at the two ghosts.

Resident Ghost of Slytherin | Hot-Tempered & Not Amused
The Bloody Baron had been following Helena to the office of the Headmistress when he got sidetracked for a moment. Once he realized the others had moved on without him, he floated his way to the office, right through the door like the others had done.
Seeing Helena floating there so closely to Sir Nicholas made him want to throw something at the Nearly Headless one. Maybe if he tried hard enough, he could make him totally headless.
Maybe.
For now he would remain calm while he listened from a distance.
Resident Ghost of Gryffindor | Chivilrous & Sociable
"Splendid!" Sir Nicholas remarked as he cast a hankering look towards Helena as the Bloody Baron entered. His chest may have inflated just a bit upon noticing the fleeting agitation in the Slytherin ghost's eyes.
And, just because he could, he floated a bit closer to Helena before addressing the Headmistress again.
"On All Hallow's Eve, which also just so happened to be my 593rd Deathday celebration," he began with a bit of a begrudged tone. No one, not even Professor Flamsteed, had bothered to congratulate him! The nerve! "Something rather peculiar occurred in the Spirit Room. There was a surge of...other world energy I suppose you could call it. This surge caused the barrier to the room to vanish entirely. None of us has been able to bring it back up, so the living may now come and go freely." Which was all quite riveting to the House ghost, although he realised that not all shared his enthusiasm. "But that is not all..."
The ghost stopped here, looking towards his translucent companions to jump in.
Resident Ghost of Slytherin | Hot-Tempered & Not Amused
The Baron crossed his arms over his bloody chest as he gave Nicholas looks as the ghost floated even closer to the love of his life. 'Keep it up Nicholas and you and I will be having words later.' That's what he would have said if the ghost hadn't started blathering on about the Spirit Room and his blasted Deathday celebration.
"No one cares about your deathday and how dead you are you almost headless fool." Yes, he was a fool for thinking he could steal the beautiful Helena away from the Baron. "What is important here is those blasted talking portraits all over the school. In particular that loud mouth Elizabeth Burke in the dungeon corridor." Who was the fool to put that hideous looking thing back up in HIS corridor? "Do you know what that woman has been doing?" No? "She has been HARASSING everyone that walks past her DEMANDING they give her a password to be in the dungeons!" He floated so he was right in front of the headmistress now. "What are YOU going to do about this?" He wanted answers and he wanted them NOW!
Resident Ghost of Ravenclaw | Intelligent & Evasive
Helena let Sir Nicholas share the news about the other world energy that had surged through the spirit room during his death day party when he paused she interjected meeting Headmistress Truebridges gaze. "The other world energy unsettled me. It felt wrong, sinister and dark."
"It was a feeling that passed just as quickly though and later visits to the spirit room hasn’t given me that feeling back. But Sir Nicholas is right the barrier in the room is gone and we can’t raise it no matter what we’ve tried. So it's safe for students to use the room whenever they want now I suppose."
She didn't need to look behind her to know that the Baron had arrived not long after her. She felt his eyes on her as always. When the Baron floated towards the headmistress, talking loudly about the portraits and even shouting in some instances Helena retreated backwards to a corner.
She glanced briefly over at Sir Nicholas with big timid eyes before she cast her gaze down, busying herself with her fan. Helena would tell the Headmistress about her mother's statue and the moving staircases antics when the Baron was appeased.
Professor Pink | Mrs. Bruce Wayne | I'm on a Goat | Glitterpuff | Dumbledore's Defense Squad | BHB
Ugh, ghosts. ARGUING ghosts. They were making her headache worse. She propped her head up with her hand and eyed them. "So the Spirit World barrier is down, and you," she gestured loosely toward Helena with her free hand, "think it's negative energy? But... do we need to do something about it, or...?"
Then there was the Bloody Baron. Ordinarily, the Headmistress would have given in to her deep-rooted fear of ghosts and all things ghosty, but right now... with this small of a problem, when she had many, MANY more important things to do...
This was just BEYOND IRRITATING.
"Why don't YOU do something about it, your Bloodiness," she replied to him snarkily. "We can see about taking her portrait off the wall, though I don't know who put it up. I'll check it out later." Later later later.

The gargoyles couldn't see because they were inanimate objects but the Headmistress had eyes in all the right places.
