Zahra perused the owlery, looking for a good WHITE one to send north. She'd hate to send an owl that wasn't prepared for super stupid cold that apparently Durmstrang always had or something. Stupid.

Plus she didn't see any snowy owls.

Sigh.

She threw a pebble at a few owls, just because.

Before starting Hogwarts, Clara had decided that she would have to explore everywhere. Other wise, how could she fairly decide that adventures were lame. So that was what she was doing now. Exploring. She only had one last place to check out before she could head back down to the Common Room to pick up a couple of books to read.

The owlery.

It was quite nice up here, the redhead decided. Not TOO much noise as you might expect from a gathering of animals. It may even make a good place to escape to when things got annoying and stressful .....

Thump. THUMP.

Clara spun round at the noise, eyes zeroing in on her unexpected company. She had thought she'd been alone up here, but apparently not. There was another girl here and she appeared to be ... throwing things ..... at owls. Were those stones? "Hey!" ....... What are you doing?" She asked incredulously, staring at the girl. What even ..

"Pegging owls," Zahra answered as if that SHOULD be the most obvious thing in the world. She'd ran out of most of her pebbles and was in search for more. She found a few more by the window, like where the castle wall was crumbling a little and shot a rock up to the HIGHEST sleeping owls.

Pegging ... owls .....

O.O ... "Why?"

Seriously, what had the owls done to her to deserve that? Clara was pretty sure they were going to do something if she didn't stop. Something like ... peck her eyes out ... and she wouldn't even blame them if they did. What sort of person throws rocks at owls!?

What this girl crazy?

"I dunno. Felt like it," Zahra again answered as if this should be OBVIOUS? She finally turned around and cast a glance at Ms. Lots-of-Questions and wasn't at ALL surprised to find a Ravenclaw. THey were always full of questions and lacking answers, in Zahra's opinion.

She was officially out of pebbles so she used the toe of her COOL DIGGING BOOTS to sift poop around. "Needed something to do while I wait." YOU KNOW? Gotta do what ya gotta do.

Clara couldn't find words straight away, but she was positive that her eyebrows were raised so high that they were lost in her hair line. After several moments she spoke. "You ...... felt like it?" STARE. "You ... felt like throwing rocks at owls?" WHO DOES THAT???

She was waiting?

Now to just find some of those pebbles she'd thrown earlier WITHOUT getting pooped on.

Kace decided to go to the owlery. It has been a while since he had seen his owl Charlene. But he was gonna get a new owl soon but his mom kept his new owl Henry at home. He needed to be trained before he could come to Hogwarts and deal with all the other owls. Plus his flying wasn't that great, he was still a baby. As he made his way up the stairs, he noticed Charlene was perched on the top. She was all nestled and sound asleep. He smiled and hated to wake her up but he did have a job for her to do today. He approached her carefully and lightly tapped her. She ruffled her feathers and turned her head and saw him. Her eyes went wide then soft and she nibbled on his finger affectionately. "Heyyy girl I have a job for you today. Are you up for a little trip home?" he asked her.

She got up and showed she was ready. She was a little fighter. No wonder Belle loved her so much. He got his letter all ready and rolled it up tightly. "You know what to do right?" he asked her. She nodded and nipped him again to showed she understand. She never failed a delivery once. He tied the letter to her leg and brought her to the window. He gave her a drink of water before she left. As Charlene was all set, she descended down and then used her wings and flapped towards the sky. It was a beautiful sight to see.

So far Aladdin has searched all over the place for his monkey Abu! For some reason he just could not find it! Another thing he just wasn't finding was his Genie's Lamp or his Genie. As a matter of fact, there wasn't a single Genie lamp in this weird castle. The architecture was completely off from anything he has seen before! Where were all the different colors of purple, red, blue, and green? Why was the stone gray and black, and not a tan or light brown color! This was just nonsense to Aladdin.

Finally making up the spiral steps he mumbled under his breath "If only my magic carpet was working." That's when he noticed the girl inside of the tall tower. Peering inside he cleared his throat and stated "Excuse me, have you seen my Monkey, Abu? Or an antique style lamp? Also you wouldn't happen to know how to fix a magic carpet by any chance would you?" Aladdin had so many questions, but there was such little time to ask them!

Getting a better glance at the inside there was all these different types of foreign birds. All of them seemed to be the same species of animal, but different kinds of that species. Aladdin knew he's seen them before, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it until he gazed upon one particular bird. They were all owls! When he was riding on his magic carpet back home with Jasmine, he saw a few of them fly by over the desert.

As Kace was watching Charlene fly out the window, he turned around and noticed a guy was standing behind him. He was sort of startled and had to relax his heart beat for a minute. "Hii..." he greeted him but then his question he asked was puzzling. "Ermm no? I do not know how to fix a magic carpet or your monkey for that matter. I mean if you haven't noticed we are up in the Owlery...no monkey's.." he chuckled at him answering a question he never encountered before. "But I think you may be able to find a magic lamp in the room of requirement.." he pointed his thumb toward the castle. If he was up to finding that is.

Grrrr. So far he's gotten all the same answers for his monkey Abu. So far Aladdin has heard either A.) Abu couldn't be here because apparently there was a rule about no monkeys in this dull castle. Yet they allowed dangerous birds of prey, also known as owls...Or he heard that they haven't seen Abu. Which was extremely weird...you'd think an extremely hyperactive monkey would be able to be seen easily. Which made Aladdin think back to how there's a rule not allowing monkeys. Even though, Aladdin was pretty certain Abu would be here, after all, Abu was always clinging to him.

Did no one around this castle know how to fix a magic carpet!? Was it seriously that hard of a task! The most helpful thing this person said was something about maybe finding Genie's Lamp in the room of requirement? "Ermm, where could I find this Room of Requirement? And why would the lamp be in there?" Like seriously, what was this Room of Requirement? The name made it sound like to get to it you had to do all sorts of tests to make it there. Aladdin was not good at tests. Since he was raised on the streets, he wasn't book smart...he was street smart...

Obviously, duh!

Kace chuckled and thought this was kind of weird but he could handle it. He wasn't the one for judging people. He politely answered his question. "Well you see magical stuff just happens to appear there. Even some old things we have used or that we just lost.." he said explaining the room. "You can't really find it, but if you on the seventh floor and try to imagine and tell it what you need, the room will show itself to you." he said giving him advice. "I am sure you can find your lamp and monkey there...Abu is it?" he asked getting his name right.

This wasn't an part of Hogwarts that Samantha usually frequented but she wanted to take a photo of some Hogwarts wildlife and the owls seemed like a good choice.

She didn't want to scare them and so she kept her distance as she took a photo of a tawny owl ruffling its feathers. Soon the muggle-like photo was developed. Samantha quietly moved away from the owls and grabbed her wand from her pocket. Tapping the photo in the middle, Samantha whispered, "Alacer."

The photo was now depicting the owl ruffling its feather with a slightly haughty look in its eyes. Samantha departed the room looking for the next location.

He didn't have an owl. But he did WANT one. So, no technically he wasn't really here to visit his owl. Well, if he did have one, he definitely would visit it. He was kind of here to visit though, even if it wasn't his own owl. Really, he was just here to visit every single owl there was. He was also here to hope that maybe one day he'd have his own pet, ya know? Like one he could actually love and get to name and be friends with.

Except, his parents would never allow for that. They were completely against the idea all together. Besides, Zander didn't really want an owl. He wanted a Cruppie! Or a puppy. But mostly the former because a magical pet would be AWESOME!

Ahem. But it did feel kind of weird visiting other people's pets. So you know what? He'd make an excuse so it didn't really look like he was just being creepy. PFT. He was totally here to.... To.... To do charms homework! YEAH! Hehehe. Taking both his wand and his camera out of his bag, the Gryffindor walked towards one of the snowy white owls. One..... Two...... THREE!

And with a SNAP! the picture was taken and a little image popped out from the camera. ""Alacer," and yep. Moving owl in a moving picture and yeah. It was all good. Wait a minute, that was three right? Meaning he only had TWO MORE! See math was actually easy, how come Arithmancy was so hard?

Why had she dragged herself all the way up here? Oh? Because the view was great?

Eden was unamused with herself. Oh well. The more exercise, the better, right? She'd have MAD calf muscles by the time term was over, and by the time she GRADUATED she might as well but a leg-weight lifter......

As if.

Eden had more important things to do with her time. Like..........

Stuff.

She then sighed and set her backpack down on a clean spot on the ground. The owls didn't cover EVERY inch of floor with their feces. She pulled out the camera, her notebook, and a quill. It smelled nice and owly up here. She liked it. Owls were nice creatures----most times. She giggled to herself and snapped a quick picture of a few of the owls, and then one of the grounds. Welp. The one of the owls would look cooler--so maybe she'd charm both and turn that one in? The one overlooking the grounds though..it was very pretty. And she had caught it at such a pretty time of day--the sun was starting to go down and the sky was painted a pinkish-blue--UGH. Eden could have watched it all day, really.

But she didn't have time. SIGH. "Alacer--" she said softly, and the picture of the owls instantly started moving, and she grinned to herself. This homework was honestly helping her practice and get the charm down. PROFESSOR FULLER WAS SMART.

Owls.

Maddie didn't have one of her own, finding that kneazles were much more enjoyable companions. She did think they were interesting, though. Their ability to hunt at night and twist their heads in a sometimes frightening manner. Their sharp talons and big eyes. Intimidating yet beautiful. Maddie wanted to be like that some day. Wise too. Owls could also be that, at least in stories.

Eyeing the parliament of owls assembled, the brunette stood quietly in the door way and positioned her camera. She tried not to startle them, wanting to capture them when they weren't bothered.

*CLICK*

The sound got the attention of a few of the birds, their heads turning to observe the intruder with mild interest and a hint of annoyance. Maddie simply smirked, holding the picture in one hand while she tapped it in the middle with her wand. "Alacer."

Picture number two, done.

He was gonna try and take pictures of creatures just to see how the picture would turn out, which was why the boy had decided to come all the way up here.

And boy, was he starting to regret it by the time he got to the fourth floor.

So many STAIRS. Jeez, Hogwarts! How many were there? Over a hundred? Whatever the number was, it was too freaking many and he was mentally glad that his dorms were down in the dungeons. Imagine having to trudge up here every single day just to go to bed? No thanks. He wasn't down for that life.

Entering the Owlery, his eyes immediately sought out for his own owl. It was a proud little bugger who didn't like to feel as if it was controlled by anyone but it was the best owl ever, Grayson was sure of it. Not spotting it anywhere -- was it delivering gifts or what? -- he, instead, decided to head over towards one of the sleeping owls which probably looked a bit more friendlier than his one did. Take a picture of that one instead.

Brilliant! One picture in his hands! "Alacer!" he said, tapping the centre of the photo with his wand. Swear, he felt like he'd been saying this spell TOO many times today. But it WORKED, so no complaints from him.

And was this the last picture he needed to take? Thank MERLIN!

Before they reached the castle, Benny noticed the owlery and had an idea. So instead of heading further, the fourth year lead Angel up the stone stairs of the tower to where all the owls tended to gather in their little perches. There were certainly enough around, a few even fluttering in and out as they went about duties. He picked through the room, his eyes searching for Conrad specifically, before spotting him and a toad on a ledge off to one side.

"Hey boy..." he greeted, looking quizically at the toad before recognizing him. "Gus?" he asked rhetorically yet surprised. "Did Adi leave you here?" Well of course he did, Benny doubted the creature hopped all the way up the stairs from wherever his human was. Not that it mattered much anyway, he would just bring Gusterson back to his bestie. But first...a perfect bestie picture, the one that had been missing from before.

One inter-creature friendship picture of Gus and Conrad. One second thought...Benny aimed his camera once more and took the shot again as close as he could. Adi certainly deserved a copy of the meaningful picture. Even if it was an extra and not needed for the credit for charms class.

Jasmine had one more picture to take and her homework would be finished. She tried to think of a good moving subject and then it hit her. The owls. She didn't have one of her own, but she was sure that the school owls wouldn't mind having their pictures taken. At least she hoped they wouldn't mind. Making her way to the Owlery, Jasmine tried not to dwell on the memory of the last time she had been here. No, she would not go there.

Grabbing her camera and a handful of owl treats, Jasmine looked through the crowd of owls for the one that she was familiar with. Trying to get his attention, she tempted him with the treats. "Come here boy, I need your help again. This time. I just need you to look handsome and move around a bit. No messages today."

Jasmine smiled when the owl came to her and accepted he treats that she offered him. As he nibbled on his goodies, Jasmine started to take pictures. When he had finished eating, she said,"OK, now give me a good one.". As if the owl understood, he spread his wings and gave Jasmine a wonderful pose. Click, Click, Click. She caught it all on the camera. "Thank you. That was beautiful." She gave the owl more treats and then set to work on her photo. She chose the one with the owl spreading his wings. "Alacer", Jasmine said, while tapping the picture with her wand. That may have been the best one yet. She managed to catch his wings opening and it looked great. Now all she had to do was turn in her pictures. Giving the owl one last treat, Jasmine gathered her things and left.

Angel followed Benny and smiled as she saw her owl. "Hey this is great." Angel looked at her Owl. "Here why don't you have your photo taken." Angel giggled as she looked at her owl.

Angel beamed as she took the photo, she then saw Benny with his owl and decided she would do one with them too in it.

Angel smiled as she looked at both the photo's, this was going to be amazing and she couldn't wait until she could take some more photo's.

"Alacer!!" Angel tapped her wand on the first photo and smiled as her Owl started to move in the photo and the she looked at the second photo. "Alacer!!" Angel tapped her wand on the second photo and she smiled as it worked again and this time Benny and his Owl started to move in the photo.

With his final picture or rather pictures taken, and a memorable one at that, Ben focused again on making them move. He slipped his wand from his pocket once more and starred into the portraits. "Alacer!" he cast with the pointed touch, the photo-owl soon fluttering his wings and moving his head while the photo-toad bounced a little on his long legs. The fourth year duplicated it once more with another "Alacer!" and soon both pictures were near-perfect examples of wizarding photography.

"Guess that's that," he mused looking to Angel and seeing she seemed finished as well with her work. "Come on Gus...I'll bring you back to Adi," he said as he scooped up the toad and slipped him into his pocket.

"After you..." he instructed Angel figuring she could lead them back.

Caleb didn't have an actual owl or anything but he often used the owlery owls to send letters home. When he couldn't steal Sophie's, of course. He would take a dog over an owl every day.

They were awesome photo subjects though, so he found himself in the owlery with his camera, ready to charm some more pictures for homework. He picked a snowy owl that was sitting on a nearby window...eating a mouse. It was gross but goodness, what a great picture!

Photo captured, so Caleb sat down and picked up the photo, pulling his wand out of his pocket as he did so. Alright, time to get the real assignment underway - animating it. He tapped the photo sharply and shouted "Alacer!" as he did so. This one was moving a bit slowly...maybe he should do it again? It was like slow motion in here...

"Alacer!" he said again, tapping the photo once more. Aha! That did it! The owl moved!

A short time after Newell had gone up to the Owlry, Cutty Mordaunt followed with his tethered camera in tow. He'd been up here more this year than he had in previous ones save his first. He still needed to tell his mother that he'd joined Professor Morgan's SNAC cult, but he was waiting for the most opportune time. Like if she pressured him about his beliefs at all. Lala, umm! My soul is spoken for! And it belongs to Professor Morgan's dad.

He was surrounded, at this time of day, by sleeping owls. Peaceful looking in their rest. The fourth year raised his wand and shot a fountain of green sparks into their space, though at no particular one. Frightened out of their slumber, the owlery was a flurring of feathers, flying and hooting. The general chaos Mordaunt was fond of. He held the camera skyward bound and snapped a photo. He eager hand waited at the photo dispensary can caught the photo before he gave it a tap with his wand. "Alacer!" He said with a smile.

He'd bought an owl. Chance had actually bought an owl! It had taken him a whole year to get the money for one, but he had done it!

The owl was beautiful too! Flipping amazing! Or... rather, Flying amazing! He was a big brawny brown owl with white speckles. He was about twice the size of other owls too. Chance liked bigger things. If only he could charm his bed into a bigger version of itself. Alas, he had tried many times but each time he got it bigger, it went back to regular size instantly.

Anyways, Chance had bought an owl, and now he was here to visit with him. Only problem was, Chance hadn't been able to come with a name for his owl. It had kept him up quite a bit too. But, this owl was like his baby, he couldnt just name it anything he wanted to.

Chance entered the owlery and looked at his owl. That bird just made his heart swell. he winked at it, Like it could wink back. He walked over to him, ignoring all the other ones. Scratching it's head, the owl nestled into his palm. They were already best mates.


"Don't worry. Im coming up with a name. Dont you worry."
