The greenhouses are where lessons usually take place. But when there are no lessons being held, they are a place for students to come and get some grardening, researching or looking around done. This would actually make Professor Walton happy.
However, you will notice that there are seven greenhouses. In each one a different variety of plants is being kept. The ones that are easy to deal and work with are in the lower-numbered ones and as the number goes up the plants become more dangerous and would require more experience and credibility to handle. So you won't need permission to access greenhouses from one to four but you will need Professor Andrew's permission to access the greenhouses five, six and seven.
As you enter whichever of the greenhouses you will see rows and rows of plants neatly tidied and positioned in an accurate spot in regard of sunlight. A few of them will occasionally need to be turned around, trimmed and taken care of and that's what you will find Professor Andrew doing should you run into him. He also will be roaming around keeping an eye out on things and people.
You are not allowed to harm any plant in any way. You must always be prepared for anything and if you need the Professor's help all you have to do is call for him, he's either in his office or in one of the greenhouses. Also, you do not need to bring equipment with you because in each one of the greenhouses there is a cupboard that has everything you might need; gloves, robes, shovels, pots of all sizes, cultivators, fertilizers...etc.
OOC: -You do have to RP getting permission to access the greenhouses five, six and seven. And please be realistic, a firstie won't be allowed to be near dangerous plants without assistance.
-Please do not let your character damage anything because Andrew WILL deduct points. Still, this is a place to have fun besides learning, so enjoy it!
-If you need Andrew just title your post so that I will post for you.

The next step was probably what was considered the most difficult task in the entire homework, having to actually get hold of the bloomin' things. Although she had every faith in her ability seeing as it had been easy in lessons, the Ravenclaw was in a bit of a rush and wanted to be out of here as soon as it was entirely possible. That meant she had to approach the plants a lot quicker than the cautious almost teasing steps she had taken in the lesson.
She did take it one step at a time and she didn't show any signs of nerves seeing as these things were a bit jumpy for her liking but it took her a lot less time to actually get near enough that she could grab them. When she was within inches of the plants she reached her hand out and tentatively grabbed the bulb lifting it out of its space where she walked it back to her workspace.
She wasn't going to let a plant get the better of her. They didn't even have brains after all and they also shouldn't be able to harm anyone. At least not if they were in a school. It left the Ravenclaw wondering whether this place had ever been threatened with shutting down, it was far too dangerous to be in at times and with all the madness that was radiating around she wouldn't blame anyone for wanting it closed for good.
Puck was ready to do some planting…but she was also ready to take some photos. Her camera was tucked away in its carry case and she carefully took it out as she watched everyone who as in the greenhouse digging, trimming, watering, and taking care of their plants. Heck, everyone seemed to be planting their bouncing bulbs pretty well.
Taking a few steps into the room she took the camera out of the case and positioned herself so she could take a photograph of the bouncing bulbs in their pre-planted habitat. “Hello lovelies” she grinned as she pressed the shutter release and heard and felt the familiar click of the camera taking the photograph and calibrating things.
When she finally had the photograph printed out of the little camera she tapped it with her wand and cast a silent Alacer before she moved stowed away all of her photographs into the folder in her bag, and tucked her camera away as well. She carefully tucked the carry case in the bag as well before she decided to try her luck at this…planting business.
She carefully collected the supplies that she would need her trowel, her gloves, her fertilizers and soils...anything and everything was put into a little wagon and dragged to an empty raised bed that needed much planting, and love...much love. She had to get rid of some of those weeds first.

Wand out, he levitated them over to a spot near a Gryffindor girl. Temporarily. They had a tendency to be loud and he didn't want her landing him a black eye for startling the bulbs.

It was a shame the Professor didn't tell them... maybe this was one of things they just had to figure out for themselves.
The fairy was making a high pitched buzzing sound now, though it paused every so often to laugh. Or at least, it sounded like a laugh to him. Or at least a giggle.

Maybe they weren't the prettiest of plants, but she still wanted to record the work that she had done to help Professor Plants in some way or another.
Spotting her three contributions, Lux made her way over to them positioning herself in a way that showed the Bouncing Bulbs off nicely. Holding her camera up, she pushed the button and caught the picture as it fell out. Not bad. Not bad at all. Smiling, she tapped it in the center with her wand. "Alacer."

With the buckets lined up now, he caught the chin-life greeting and returned it with a smile even. The flitterbloom smell still annoying him but quickly being drowned out by the smell of ...dragon manure. A much more interesting scent in Cutty's opinion. And it was sharp that day.
Cutty stood there for a moment watching as the Gryffindor girl worked. She was actually quite careful and he noted her technique. Very stealthy. Almost Slytherin-like. Almost. But she was good. Probably one of the reasons Gryffindor was in the lead.
One foot out and then the other, Cutty made his way over to the bulbs. He wasn't particularly careful but he was silent and confident. There was nothing to be shy about when planting bouncing bulbs. Steadily he lifted one of the babies up from their spot and carried it over to the half filled pot and placed her inside without incident. With the dirt from the fully filled pots he finished up the job.
"Cutty Mordaunt. Fourth Year Slytherin." He said introducing himself to the Gryffindor.
Angel was totally enjoying this homework in fact she wanted to take one home though she doubted her muggle parents would approve of a bouncing bulb in the back garden and she was sure the neighbours would get suspicious and they would call the police and things and it would take a lot of explaining... So probably wasn't a good idea.
Angel looked at the bouncing bulb as she put it in the pot. "This is going to be your nice new home." Angel smiled at it. "Seriously I think you are going to like it." Angel hoped that the bouncing bulb was going to enjoy it but well everything was strange. "I'm Angel Valentine..." Angel smiled to the bulb. "Some people call me Ang which is awesome but sounds weird... I think i'll call you bouncy." Angel had been trying to think of a name. "Anyway Bouncy I think it's time we make you nice and warm don't you." Angel loved plants and she went about coving the bulb up with the soil. "Look Bouncy the pot suites you." Angel thought about what she had to do next.

He watched his fairy curiously and they were all floating and zinging gracefully. They were really happy. He heard Zeke's question and looked at his watch. "Well usually you need an hour of exercise a day, so we will give them an hour.." he told the firstie. Sounds reasonable right?
He looked at his two fairies that were dancing with each other and they were racing. He smiled and was sitting down and just admiring the view. He didn't want to ruin their happiness. "How hard is it gonna be to get the fairies back in their jars?" he asked. Then he check his watch and an hour was up. "Up it is time to get the fairies.." he told Zeke. He went over and tried to get his fairy couple.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
After using Flipendo on the bouncing bulb, it was much easier to pick it up again because it wasn't struggling that much anymore. So with the bulb in his arms, Kevin walked in a fast pace to his workstation in case the spell wore off and quickly dumped placed the bulb in the pot with soil. Next, he grabbed the small garden shovel and grabbed some more soil from the bag , before adding it half way in the pot with the bulb.
Once it was nicely secured the Gryffindor placed the shovel back down and walked back to the cart where the bouncing bulbs were on. As he walk past the other students he heard some of them talking to the bulbs and he seriously thought they were all a bunch of weirdos. Why would you talk to a PLANT? It's not like it would talk back....right?
Shaking his head, Kevin wanted to try and put the bouncing bulb in the next pot without the use of the flipendo spell. Let's see how tough he was. He took careful steps to the bulb he had his eyes on, stopping now and then when it began to shake and then grabbed the plant with his gloved hands.
Holding it in his grip without smashing it, Kevin felt the bulb struggle but he ran to his station quickly, dumped placed the bouncing bulb in the pot and ......it bounced right out of it. Then on the table before it rolled off of the ground.
...................Mweh whatever he'd just get another one. He wasn't going to run after a stupid plant.
Angel was totally enjoying all this. "Look at this nice new home Bouncy." Angel giggled. "I'm sure that you will enjoy it." Angel did the finally few things. "I'm sure that everything will work out great and you'll enjoy your new home and then soon you'll be an adult." Angel smiled. "And you'll be able to go places.
Angel cleaned her desk space up and then smiled this had been amazing and she hoped that Bouncy would enjoy everything that had been done for it.. she cleaned up her equipment she had used and then she left hoping the Professor like all the work she had done.

One bulb down, and one more to go. The second year once again stalked over to the cart holding the rude bulbs. Slow steps were taken. Why it mattered though was beyond because the plants would still attack you at a moments notice. Right foot, left foot, and repeat slooooowllly until she was within arms reach.
She was just about to reach out and grab it when the bulb started to shudder. Not again. AJ was ready for an attack. There would be no more face smacking on her watch. "Flippendo." Right in the bulb's face. Now let's see you try to get froggy.
AJ grabbed ahold of the bulb and walked back over to her station. Whoops. She needed more soil, and another pot. She thought that she had already brought extra to her stations, but it wasn't there now. Really quickly she jogged over to the cupboard and grabbed the supplies. She was already over this assignment.

Not that he'd say so out loud. All of this fairy stuff was messing with his masculinity. But figuring he'd had enough of note taking and homework reading... it was time to start cleaning. Yep. So after stuffing his note book and things in his bag, he took out his wand and focused his attention on the jar. There were even food particles in there still. Icky.
"Not smart, just observant. The sorting hat basically told me I was stupid." And the sorting hat could read his whole brain right? So... it couldn't be wrong? Meh. He was over caring. He was passing his subjects, learning spells and earning points. In his eyes, he won.
He too started with the cleaning spell, "Scourgify," and gave the jar a twice-over, but then he added some water with "aguamenti," and swilled it around. The cold water would... freshen things up, right? Once that was done he tipped the contents onto a nearby plant and scourgified the jar again, allowing it to dry.
But now... it was time to catch his fairy again. And it was THIS task he was most unsure about.

Alright. Alright. So honestly if really given the choice, he wouldn't step ANYWHERE NEAR the Greenhouses. If Professor Grumps had proved anything, it was that he was a big meanie. And Zander never wanted to ever talk to him again. Except for it was homework and the only other option was to draw and there was no way he was going to do that. So unfortunately, here he was. The one place he didn't want to be.
He basically DRAGGED himself inside and took a good look around. Spotting the cart of bouncing bulbs on one side, he picked a work station near by. This way he wouldn't have to make them travel too far. Sigh.
Herbology was much more enjoyable with Beautiful Bentley around.
Double sigh.

Moving on she slowly added in the dirt from other pot on top of it filling the pot and making the little bulb as snug as possible in its new dirt home. ”Nice to meet you Cutty, I’m Puck Greyvson…Gryffindor fourth year” she introduced herself properly to her Slytherin classmate.
The gryffslythindor girl carefully stood up and made her way back to the bouncing bulbs resting place. Deep breath. Calmness. That was key. Carefully again she reached her hand forward and made sure not to make any sudden movements again. Her hands securely around the bulb she lifted it away from the table and carefully walked away from the table.
Step. Pause. Step. Pause.
She had made it back to her spot. Hah! She had successfully (yet again) skipped out of getting a black eye.

Not that he'd say so out loud. All of this fairy stuff was messing with his masculinity. But figuring he'd had enough of note taking and homework reading... it was time to start cleaning. Yep. So after stuffing his note book and things in his bag, he took out his wand and focused his attention on the jar. There were even food particles in there still. Icky.
"Not smart, just observant. The sorting hat basically told me I was stupid." And the sorting hat could read his whole brain right? So... it couldn't be wrong? Meh. He was over caring. He was passing his subjects, learning spells and earning points. In his eyes, he won.
He too started with the cleaning spell, "Scourgify," and gave the jar a twice-over, but then he added some water with "aguamenti," and swilled it around. The cold water would... freshen things up, right? Once that was done he tipped the contents onto a nearby plant and scourgified the jar again, allowing it to dry.
But now... it was time to catch his fairy again. And it was THIS task he was most unsure about.
"Wait the sorting hat told you were stupid?" he asked with a skeptical brow raised. "Why is that?" he asked asking his side of the story. He saw the little guy know his spells and he nodded and smiled. He figured he needed to add some water to his jar. He copied Zeke's lead and said, "Aguamenti!" and then his jar was clean and the fairies had some water in their jar. Now onto getting them. This shall be fun....
"Alright Zeke let's do this.." he nodded towards him. "Come on fairies time to get into your jars.." he called out. The fairies were looking at him like he was crazy. They shook their heads and started flying. Alright Kace hoped it didn't have to end this way. He ran after them and was jumping up and down.
"GET BACK HERE!!" he called out. He was still jumping and the fairies were laughing and sticking their tongues out.
"GET.....GET....GET!" he said jumping every time. Alright drastic times call for drastic measures.
He got his wand out of his robes and said, "Immobulus!" and then his fairies stood there in mid air. He smiled and gave them an apologetic look. "Sorry guys you didn't give me a choice.." he told them earnestly. He scooped them up and put them into the jar. They were pouting but like the cleanliness of the jar. They smiled and gave him two thumbs up.

Okay, so now that he had his work station and his gloves and.... FLOWER POTS! Right. How was he supposed plant the bulbs if he didn't have pots to put them in. That's right, Zander was thinking. Pft. Totally could've been a Ravenclaw. So with a small sigh, the fourth year walked over to where the flower pots were kept and grabbed one.
Did he need more than one?
Okay he grabbed two. But did he need MORE than two?
Nah. Just two. Yeah, just two.
He tucked one pot under each arm and walked back to the table and CAREFULLY setting both of them down as he did so. Now for the soil. That's what came next because you need soil in order to pot a plant. It was science. See, totally Ravenclaw. Heh.
So, Zander walked over to the place with the soil stuff and wait a minute. He had walked all the way over and forgot to bring anything to put it in. Maybe not-so-Ravenclaw after all.... Right. Definitely not. So he walked ALL the way back to his work station (which wasn't actually that far) and grabbed one of the two pots he had brought over in the first place. Then he filled the pot with some soil and took it back to his station. There was too much soil in his pot for just one, so using a small shovel he scooped half of it into the other. There. Two pots filled with soil. Or kind of filled. Filled just enough. 'Cause y'know, he still needed to add the plants in and all. It was a thing.

But alas, it was time to catch his fairy... again... and he hated to think he'd be doing this everyday, and probably twice a day considering that's how much he had to clean. Boooooo. On the plus side though, he'd be a pro at fairy catching once this was all done.
He watched Kace a moment, yelling and chasing and... yeah.
Turning his attention back to his own fairy, he inched up behind it slowly, his jar in his hand ready to scoop it up. Only.. it was smarter than him, and flittered out of reach. Boo.
Zeke followed it casually, calmly, and soon the fairy stopped beside a plant, though it was staring intently at the somewhat dirtied greenhouse window thing pane. No doubt ogling itself. Vain little fairy.
Though he took longer to catch his than Kace did, he didn't use any magic. He still didn't know the Immobulus spell, but that was a task for another day. While the fairy continued to admire itself, Zeke quickly slipped the jar around it and sealed it with the lid.

With the pot right in front of her she carefully sent the potentially volatile thing into its future home. Placing the bulb into the now a little over half-full bucket she quickly placed part of the soil from the overfilling bucket around the little bulb and smiled to herself.
Two bulbs planted so far?
Heck, her guys hadn’t been that tough, so far. Surely the next one wouldn’t be so friendly she thought as she glanced around at the bouncing bulbs and the people planting them. Surely there were enough people planning bulbs right now right? She didn’t have to plant many more right?

Puck carefully placed her bouncing bulb into her half filled pot. Moving on she slowly added in the dirt from other pot on top of it filling the pot and making the little bulb as snug as possible in its new dirt home. ”Nice to meet you Cutty, I’m Puck Greyvson…Gryffindor fourth year” she introduced herself properly to her Slytherin classmate.
The gryffslythindor girl carefully stood up and made her way back to the bouncing bulbs resting place. Deep breath. Calmness. That was key. Carefully again she reached her hand forward and made sure not to make any sudden movements again. Her hands securely around the bulb she lifted it away from the table and carefully walked away from the table.
Step. Pause. Step. Pause.
She had made it back to her spot. Hah! She had successfully (yet again) skipped out of getting a black eye.
Puck. Puck Greyvson. Although unexempt from this, Cutty thought the students that went to Hogwarts had weird names. Puck. Like Muggle hockey. Puck, like his new favourite name game name. He decided that she was safe. At least wouldn't disturb his activity. Good technique too. Mimicry was a thing for this soulless automaton.
He offered the girl a smile one last time before heading back for another one of the strange and fussy bulb babies. He lifted it carefully and held it out and headed back to his potting station. He sat her bottom down in the soft dirt before turning back to the girl. "They're a bit like fussy babies, aren't they?" He stated quietly to get her thoughts. "Yew have a way with them, though. I've watched your technique for the last ones yer did."

Kace grinned and patted the boy on the back. "Hey kid it is fine. Your with the lions and they are pretty cool." It was true. He had two friends in Gryffindor and especially his girlfriend. He had a soft spot for the lion house. He saw Zeke casually just get his fairy. His was more accepting than his. He came back to Zeke panting and asked, "How did you catch yours soo easily?" He was quite jealous and he didn't have to break a sweat. But he smiled and complimented him all the same, "You did do it, good job.." he gave him a hair ruffle. "Oh your welcome buddy anytime. If you need any help doing assignments you know who to call.." he winked. His stomach rumbled and it was time for lunch. "Come on let's go to the great hall.." he motioned and took his jar where he would clean and feed them in his room.

So, Greenhouse Four then.
Having had no intention to show the new Professor just how bad his drawing skills were -- terrible didn't even cover it -- Grayson found himself wandering down the grounds and towards this particular greenhouse. He wasn't that enthusiastic about it but a grade was a grade and homework was homework and a voice at the back of his head -- which sounded a lot like his mum's -- was nagging him to do this.
So, he was here. He took a quick look around the place before heading over towards a spot that was riiiiiiiiiight near the Bouncing Bulbs themselves. The memory of the last lesson was still fresh in his mind and, aside from the chaos with the fire, the boy had learnt a thing or two about distance. He wanted to be as close to those little buggers as possible but not too close. And certainly not close enough for them to jump out at him whenever.
Once he reached his spot, the fifth year placed his bag down and immediately went ahead to retrieve his gloves from inside them. The camera near them reminded him that he did need to do his Charms homework too. Jeez. The due date for that as fast approaching as well, wasn't it? Oh man. He had a funny feeling he'd end up rushing THAT one too. Run around the school looking like a freaking loony by snapping pictures everywhere.
Okay, the gloves were strapped on and he was ready to mean business.

Alright. Two pots? Check. Half filled? Double check. Bouncing bulbs? No check. So that's what came next. The most difficult part of this entire task. Wrestling the plant into it's pot. This should be SUPER fun. Ahem. Not really.
The Gryffindor took a deep breath and tried to think back to the lesson. It felt like AGES ago, but that was probably due to the fact that he was trying to not think about having to be in the greenhouses with anyone other than Beautiful Bentley. So it was just pushed way back there some where in his mind. Sigh. But right, back the the lesson. The only good part of that entire thing was saving Grayson, but everything else was a flop.
Oh yeah. They had to approach slowly, right? Okay. He could do that. Stepping a little closer to the plants, Zander waited for a reaction. Do plants even have eyes? Could they just tell that he was getting closer? Because they definitely seemed to get more rowdy. Right then, a few more steps to approach the plants. One...... Two...... -- Wait a minute, was that one trying to jump out? NO NO NO NOT ALLOWED!!
