Default Survival of the Fittest- Transfig 2

You should all be used to the 8 am Transfiguration lesson by now, today however, instead of the Immaculate classroom, the class will be held in the Irie Room. You are however not to enter the classroom until you are instructed to. Make a line and wait outside until you are let in.

Sophia was really rethinking this because her bones always felt like they were on fire as of late but she had everything planned so there was no turning back. She stood at the door waiting for her class.

O_O

LUX WAS GOING TO DIE.

Not literally of course, but she might as well because there was no way that she was ever going to pass this obstacle course. Failure was something that Lux just did not go together well with. She did not DO failure.

Okaaaaaay, she needed to stay calm and try to remember anything she knew about Transfiguration spells. The Acromantula was the immediate threat, since even though it obviously wouldn't eat her, it could spell immediate failure.

They were huge creatures and really fast, so Lux wondered if she could outrun it. Probably not, since she could not recall knowing any Transfiguration spells that DID that kind of thing.

If she could stick it's legs to something...

... But of course!

Taking a deep breath as she spotted the huuuuuge spider, Lux held her wand steady and performed the Epoximise spell so that the Acromantula bonded together with the floor.

AHA! Take that, giant spider!

Ella felt hopeless. Yup. ALL HOPE LOST. She had to outrun an acromantula. AN ACROMANUTLA! How in Merlin's beard was she meant to do that when her body felt like this? And yeah, okay, the thing was a magical illusion but still. She was more scared of failing this little test Bellaire had set up. The Head Girl absolutely hated to fail. She couldn't fail. No, strike that, she wouldn't fail. She just...she needed to rely on her brain. Her old brain. Her very old but still capable brain. YES! Botros was older and he was one of the smartest people Ella knew so yeah, this was doable. It was.

Taking a shaky breath, the blonde held her wand firmly and tried to ignore the rustling in the bushes as she started navigating through the room. Her eyes were downcast and searching for something as she ran and the eighteen year old just prayed that she'd find one. She also prayed that she wouldn't succumb to the pain she was feeling in her knees as she ran. She couldn't do that. Nope. And she really needed a rock. A larger one would be better but any would do as the noise she'd heard in the leaves earlier seemed to be getting louder...and closer. Come on, there had to be rocks in here somewhere!

She was moving a bit quicker now but still trying to be light on her feet when she felt her toe hit something, sending her off-balance. She nearly let out a squeak but slapped her wandless hand over her mouth in time to prevent that. Good thing too as she could still hear movement behind her. Was that clicking getting louder too? MEEP! It totally was. Oh no, okay, she needed to focus.

Glancing down quickly, Ella found that she'd run into exactly what she'd been looking for. A rock! A ROCK! It wasn't big at all but she wasn't exactly in a setting that allowed her to be choosy so she wasted no time pointing her wand at it. She needed to concentrate and get this done. She didn't have much time.

She'd had the chance to use this spell in Transfiguration before. During their circus lesson, yeah? She'd been one of the lucky ones able to get a rock to make her own little dragon and she was going to do that again right now. ...Hopefully. And she'd use that dragon to distract the Acromantula long enough for her to make it to the ravine. This had to work. It had to.

With a slashing movement at the target, Ella said clearly and with conviction, "Draconifors!"

...even though the ravine was looming nearer, so was the Acromantula. Initially the arrows he was shooting out of his wand had distracted it but it was now ignoring them and picking up speed.

Come on Sander think...think...you don't want to be Spider food. If only he had been injected with Spidey juice, he would spin a web and capture the Acromantula. Wait a minute...capture it? Why didn't he think of that.

Hoping that he wasn't making a grave mistake, Sander looked around until he found a large rock. Reaching up with his hands, he found a grip and began climbing it. Once he got to the top of the rock, he waved his hands calling out to the Acromantula.

"Hey I'm over here. Come and get me," Sander teased it.

GULP!! This thing was huge...and even huger as it got closer. Even though instincts told him that he needed to run, Sander forced himself to stay where he was. He could practically feel the Spider breathing down his neck....and it was as it began climbing the large rock Sander was standing on.

Just as it was about to pounce on him, Sander turned and jumped off while at the same time pointing his wand at the rock and saying,"Incarcifors" immediately transforming the rock into a cage, capturing the Acromantula inside it.

Sander did a tuck and roll as he landed on the ground. Oh Merlin!...remind me never to do that again. Sander thought to himself. His heart was pounding fast. His legs were killing him. He had forgotten his body was no longer an eighteen year old boy but rather a very senior one.

Heck if the Acromantula didn't get him, old age would. How long was the cage going to hold the Giant Spider? Sander didn't wait to find out. He hobbled quickly across the ground, the ravine now in sight.

What? She didn't have a fear of spiders or Acromantulas- hell, Alice didn't have a fear of anything tangible- but... that was quite a task. Her Transfiguration professor was a creative one, and she had to give her that much, even if the seventh year wasn't too fond of Bellaire. Trying to get her brain into the mode of thinking in only transformation and untransfiguration and... and......

... hm. Weren't there more types of spells she could use? There had to be at least a couple more branches, but her old lady brain was drawing blanks. Of course, that meant she'd just dive into the activity without any previous thought like a true Gryffindor. Surely, she didn't even need to use a spell. Maybe she could just outrun the thing.

But with her stiff joints, it was impossible, and Alice soon realized she'd have to actually think. Merlin's beard, this was an awful final.

So that's what they had to do? Those tasks weren't all that bad, actually. Except for the Acromantula...even if it were just an illusion. Adi took a deep breath. Transfiguration spell...hmmm.

He decided he would go for a distraction. He needed to distract the great, dirty spider. Adi made his way towards the ravine, keeping his eyes on the Acromantula while occasionally looking for something- an object- he could transfigure.

As he came closer to the ravine, he noticed some old, dead looking branches. Excellent! That would work. "Avifors!'' The wand was pointed at a particularly large branch and electric blue light shot out of it but nothing happened. Ugh! "Avifors!'' Pause. "Avifors!'' Still nothing. "AVIFORS!''And this time, almost instantly the branch was transformed into a flock of bats. Awesome!

Did Bellaire just say... they had to run against an Acromantula? There was going to be running involved?! And an Acromantula?!

His complexion paled considerably as he turned to look over at the gigantic creature. He wasn't scared of Acromantulas -- his boggart wasn't even a creature -- but the sight of the large, hairy beast was enough to make the nerves settle in in the pit of his stomach. Add in the idea of running in his current condition and the fact that this will be graded and... he was terrified. Well and truly terrified. There was no way Alec Blake Summers was going to fail this.

Deep breaths... deep breaths...

What this required was logic and a good knowledge of Transfiguration spells. ... And maybe a bit of courage but... he was going to try not to think about that. No. The boy reached up and ruffled his hair, his eyes scanning the surrounding area. Everything he needed was here. Surely, Bellaire wouldn't give them something they couldn't do, right? Rocks... boulders... various trees and plants.

Getting no inspiration by standing there, Alec started walking towards the direction of the ravine. As if it had been watching him, the Acromantula stretched out its legs and followed him, clicking its pincers as it went. BLINK. He quickened his pace, almost jogging now, and the creature did the same, the clicking of the pincers getting louder and louder as it came closer and closer. Was it going to follow him and then beat him? A small frown formed on his face. What could he do to--

...

Oh. There was that.

As if the Acromantula could sense his brain figuring things out, the boy heard the clicking of pincers and the rustling of leaves as it made its way towards him. He was a tall, pale faced and skinny boy of eighteen and yet, he had to beat this creature which... .... hold on. What was it that Bellaire had said? Something... about an illusion. Was that right? If it wasn't, he was going to pretend it was. It made the idea of doing what he was going to do a lot easier.

CLICK CLICK CLICK!

There was nothing for it. "Incarcerous!"

Clambering over rocks, stumbling and almost falling over smaller ones, Sander was breathing hard by the time he reached the edge of the ravine. He slowly leaned forward and looked down the ravine. It was a definitely a loooooonnnggg way to fall.

No...nope. That wasn't going to happen to him, Sander was determined to get through this test alive and in one piece. Sander turned his head to check on the Acromantula and was dismayed to see that the cage capturing the Acromantula was no longer there. The transfiguration spell had worn off. The Acromantula was loose, had sighted him and was now making its way towards him. Sander suspected that if it wasn't mad at him earlier, it definitely was now.

Sander didn't have time to waste. He looked up at the hanging vines above him. Taking out his wand, he pointed it at a long vine and concentrating hard on what he wanted to transform the vine into, Sander said the incantation, "Vinea Funiculus," while tapping the vine with his wand.

The moment the vine transformed into a rope, Sander grabbed hold of it. Taking a few steps back, Sander swumg himself across the ravine.

Whee....only the rope came up short!!

....so there he was swinging back and forth...back and forth....like the pendulum of a clock....and if this wasn't a perilous situation, he would have loved to continue swinging back and forth like Tarzan, the legendary Lord of The Apes.

....and so the moment the rope swung back to his previous launching position, Sander released his hold on the rope and landed back on the ravine's edge. Massaging his aching arms, Sander looked above him again and searched for a longer vine.

....and all this time, the Acromantula was getting closer!!

It was coming. It was coming FOR her. Merlin, she was gonna be spider foo-

She shook her head. Distractions were unwelcome; Alice couldn't focus on the task at hand, and as the huge Acromantula advanced towards her, it was clear that magic would have to be used. But she was distracted.... distracted.... distractions! All she had to do was get the predator into her frenetic state of mind, and there was her advantage. But how exactly was she meant to distract a giant spider?

Hmm. Well. It wanted her as a snack, did it not? Maybe she could provide it with another animal in her place. She couldn't summon a chicken or something, as that was a charm but conjuring something was an option. Just as the thought came to her, she felt her toe stumble over something and send her leg into an immense bout of pain. There wasn't much to think of it, though. At least until she realized what it was, there wasn't.

A rock. A rock. That was... exactly what she needed. Perfect for any sort of transformation spell, and one stood out among the others.

"Piscifors!"With a flash of blue light coming from her pointed wand, the stone suddenly wasn't a stone anymore. And like a literal fish out of water, the new scaly thing began thrashing about right under the fat Acromantula's nose, sufficiently distracting it.

Here was her chance! Alice turned and bolted as fast as she could with her elderly knees. Ravine... it was so close....

The Acromantula was not far off and as Adi watched, the bats (well not all of them but certainly most) flew off in its direction. He watched intently, waiting for his chance to break into a run towards the edge of the ravine. He intently hoped that his old bones would not give out on him. Ugh! He'd hate it so much if something that wasn't his fault made him fail this.

Looky! The bats were zooming around the Giant Spider! And it was distracted by them too! Yipee! This was his cue. Adi broke into a run/ hobble. Yeah, it was a weird combination of both. Anyway, he did this as briskly as he could, covering ground all the while the arachnid was trying to be rid of the bats.

The Puffer could see he was slowly but surely approaching the ravine's edge. Almost there...just a few dozen more steps...

Breathing heavily, Adi finally arrived at the edge of the ravine. Swinging over was next, right?

Not close enough, apparently. She'd only gotten a few steps away before she heard unappetizing noises behind her. Turning, Alice was rewarded with the glorious sight of the Acromantula feasting on the fish. It had soon devoured the whole thing.... and was coming for her. Again.

Merlin, could she ever catch a break? The seventh year began racking her brain again. This time, she needed a better distraction, something that was sure to keep the huge spider at bay. She could think of many creatures that would do the job, but this spider was smart. More than one distraction, though? That'd confuse it beyond measure.

Locating another pile of stones, she began tossing spells about like there was no tomorrow. "Piscifors!" With a point of her wand and another flash of blue light, the spider's attention had been caught. But Alice was still set on performing more than one spell, so she chose another one from the list of transfiguration spells she knew to seal her escape. "Serpensortia!"

She raised her wand and stuck around long enough to see the flash of white light. Then Alice turned and bolted again, and it seemed to have worked.

Thank you, snake.

Gosh, this spider was HUUUUUGE.

Even though some of its legs were stuck to the floor, they weren't all, and the creature was trying to get free so that it could go after her. Fingers crossed that WOULDN'T happen.

Carefully Lux started to make her way around the Acromantula, feeling as if she might faint as it tried to go after her. Despite the fact that the spell was working, it was still scary. The worst part was its pincers that were snapping at her.

AHHHHHHHHH!!

Wanting to take an extra precaution, Lux sent the Piscifors spell towards it. Now the spider was a fish, and she made her merry way along the obstacle course so she could get on to the next challenge.

Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

From what she was gathering...this might be her final class at Hogwarts.

Yup. It was real legit. They were in a jungle with lots of trees and vines and ditches and swampy stuff, strike one. They would be trying to outrun an acromantula while in their aged state, strike two. If the thing caught them they would fail which brought out the true Gryffindor in her, DEFINITE STRIKE THREE! You did not give a Gryffindor reason to be a Gryffindor. That was a NO. As if she didn't have enough reason already!!

Under normal circumstances, she'd be a bit disappointed to note the creatures weren't real but considering she was likely to be caught by this thing if she didn't break a bone first, Lex was thinking that just maybe this might not have been such a bad thing afterall.

Okay. Survival. Not winning but survival.

For a while she followed the others until she heard the rustling of leaves and saw people scattering. Oh sure leave the old bones to fend for herself. Lex hid behind the nearest tree BECAUSE THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD IDEA to think this through. There was something she didn't do everyday. There was no way she'd outrun this thing. No. There needed to be another way.

O_____O Professor Bellaire had to be joking. She expected her old, creaky students to outrun an acromantula and swing from a vine? Alex could barely roll out of bed without breaking a hip. They were being punked, right? Seeing that many of her classmates had already started on the obstacle course, she knew that this was not the case. This could not possibly end well.......but Alex was not a quitter.

Oh man, what to do. Think Alex. Suddenly, she had an idea. Starting on the course, Alex was trying to devise a plan that would keep her alive to see another day. She walked slowly at first, keeping her eyes peeled for the acromantula. Why did it have to be that? Not just a creepy crawly thing, but a BIG creepy crawly thing. Hearing a rustling noise nearby, Alex picked up her pace and then she saw it. It was the biggest, nastiest acromantula you could ever imagine. Alex started to run in the direction of the ravine, waiting until the proper moment to cast her spell. She hoped she didn't have a heart attack before she had a chance to carry it out.

If Sander had plenty of time to spare, he would have leisurely taken his time, selecting the most suitable vine.

But he didn't.

So he quickly visually gauged the length of each vine against the distance across the ravine and when he found one he reached up and grabbed hold of it. Pointing his wand at the vine, Sander concentrated again on the intent of the spell. When he was ready, he tapped the vine with his wand and cast the Vine to Rope spell, saying the words to the spell, "Vinea Funiculus."

A beam of light streamed out of his wand and enveloped the vine and when it disappeared, Sander was now holding a rope in his hand. He pulled on it a couple of times to make sure it was sturdy and that it wouldn't fall loosely to the ground. But the rope held.

Sander glanced around to ascertain the whereabouts of the Acromantula and was surprised to see how much ground the creature had made in just a few minutes. He had run out of time! He had to get across the ravine....NOW!!

Holding onto the rope, Sander took a few steps back and then with a running start, he launched himself off the edge of the ravine and used his body's momentum to swing himself across to the other side. Did he have enough rope? Would he get across safely?

Bay out of sheer luck made it to the ravine.. the thing should have stopped chasing him right… right.. ughhh.. he was still so scared.. he also wondered about those dogs.. if the huge giant spider ate one did he just eat a rock… Bay shuddered just thinking about it..

how was he supposed to get out of this ravine again… oh right the spell they used in class…but wait what was the spell again.. Bay started to sweat and panic he did not want to be eaten.. it seemed to be the theme of the class today Fear!!…

thinking in his head he was trying to figure out what the spell was.. "Vine Funicul?? not that didn't sound right.. Vin.. Finful?? ughh why can't i get this.." thats when it popped into his had and he was smiling from ear to ear.. for the first time in this lesson he smiled.. okay so the spell was "Vinea Funiculus" he knew it sounded right and he was counting his lucky stars that he practiced this in his dorm on his free time.

Taking out his wand he pointed it to a vine as he said "Vinea Funiculus" he had his other hand which his fingers were crossed as he pulled on the vine.. it was a lot stronger now and he could tell that it had changed.. PHEW he wiped his brow to make sure sweat didn't get into his eyes.. now was his time to swing his way to the other side..

Grabbing a hold of the vine he had currently in his hand he put his wand away and made sure everything was secure.. both hands now on the rope he closed his eyes and jumped.. "AHHHHHHHHH" he said while feeling the sensation of swinging in the air.. he only opened one eye to see the next vine.. "ughh how am i supposed to change this vine into a rope if my hands are full" he was just swinging back and forth on the same rope… that when it hit him.. he needed to let go one hand to grab his wand to continuously change vines into ropes.

Coming back to another vine he swung near he gulped and let his hand free.. happy that he didn't fall off.. he quickly grabbed his wand and with all his strength he said "Vinea Funiculus" again seeing it change he put his wand away and waited to swing back to it… "okay Bay we got this" he thought while trying to hold on..

and thats when he Jumped… holding on for dear life on the second rope he caught his breath before he tried to do it again.. and it looks like he a few more times to do this.

As she made her way across, Lux started whistling. The Acromantula was no longer a threat. Now what did the Professor say was the next obstacle?

...

She did not see the ravine at first. It was only when she was right smack in front of it, that it caught her attention. Terror filled her. Absolute terror. Eyes widening, she looked across, seeing the vines that were hanging down.

Swing across. She was supposed to swing across...

SHE WAS GOING TO DIE!!

Feeling light headed, Lux passed out.

ACROMANTULA?!

:3

Beverly almost SMILED at the idea of meeting an Acromantula. Sure they were deadly and all, but...its properties were endless. Beverly arched her neck to try and get a look of an Acromantuala. It wasn't real, better for her since she wouldn't want an excruciating death if it got her. That would mean failed lesson, so that wasn't happening either.

After instructions were given, Beverly raised her wand, prepared for anything else that could have slipped the professor's mind. On guard, she made her way through the jungle and toward the ravine. Her footing was careful, making sure not to step on or snap twigs as to not attract attention to her. House points were worth more than fake Acromantulas.

A few yards from the ravine, Beverly's neck prickled in alert. She was being watched. It had to be the Acromantula. Instead of feeling fear, it was more of a thrill. The overly protected Wayne was now on her 'own' racing an Acromantula. MERLIN THAT WAS SO COOL. A twig snapped to her right. Time to run...or hobble.

Hobbling didn't work. Her muscles were quickly giving out, but if she stopped she'd get caught. Suddenly, a big hairy thing leaped above her head, landing swiftly in front of her. "Finally, we meet," Beverly said, gasping for air (and maybe adding on the dramatics). She would need to get close enough to the creature to perform the transfiguration spell she had in mind. How to approach it, though?

There's some good in this world and it's worth fighting for| LOTR|Whovian|Sherlock Fan

As he swung over to the other side of the ravine's edge cue in Tarzan's call, Sander prepared himself. He had to time it right. If he released the rope too early or too late, he would most likely fall over the edge.

Ready....ready....let go!...Sander released his hold on the rope and allowed his body's momentum to swing him over the edge and over onto solid ground. The moment his feet touched the ground, Sander tucked in his body and rolled onto the ground to cushion the impact. He then lay on the ground for a couple of seconds to catch his breath before slowly getting to his feet.

Merlin!! Sander winced. His ankles hurt...so did his thighs....and don't even mention his arms. His burning muscles were calling out to him. No more...no more....But Sander knew that there was more to come. He still had another task to complete before he was back on safe and solid ground.

Sander squinted and looked around. The Professor had told them they had to get across a swamp. How he was supposed to do that, Sander decided he would figure that out later. But first, he had to find the swamp. He squinted in the distance but couldn't see it. Then he remembered what Professor Bellaire had told them. The swamp was deep and smelled foul. Smell!!

Sander began to sniff the air. His eyesight may have been failing but his olfactory sense, aka his nose, was still working well. He could smell something nasty and foul in the air. Sniffing the air, Sander followed his nose and eventually found the swamp.

Gag!!...the Professor was right. The swamp did smell horrible.

Bay was feeling exhausted.. he had countless times changed his vines to ropes while swinging with one arm.. he was covered in sweat and his hands were starting to go numb… ”I cant do this” he thought while seeing the end of the revine.. ”Thank goodness” maybe he could hold on for a bit longer.

He was now on his last rope and all he needed to do was to land… letting go he screamed.. ”AHHHHHHH” he seemed to be doing a lot of that lately.. okay EWWWW ”what is that smell” He had the sudden urge to barf…. The swamp smelled so bad he was surprised that he couldn’t smell it while he was swinging..

Okay what did he have to do again.. oh right.. he moved his scathel around so he can freely grab his boat.. this thing was way to small.. and there was no way he would fit in it.. Racking his brains he thought long and hard about what spell he could use to make it bigger.. or… the idea popped into his head.. ”I could just make copies of my boat and change some vines into ropes “ he looked around to see if there were any vines laying around and there was so that was good.. ”and I can use the ropes to tie the boats together to get across”

He thought it was best to work fast so he went to go collect some vines..

dream until your • dreams come true ~ Human pygmy puff

Alex slowed down for a moment, turning to keep her eyes on the acromantula. The creature was heading her way and picking up speed. As Alex backed away, she mde sure to step carefully. If she tripped and fell, it would be over for her. She had to keep moving and wait until the spider was in the perfect spot. The timing had to be just right, or her idea would not work.

When the acromantula was positioned near a large tree with drooping branches, Alex pointed her wand at the tree. Shouting, "Incarcifors", she watched as the branches transformed into a large cage to trap the animal. "I love Transfiguration", she said to herself. Feeling a brief moment of relief, Alex thought about her next move. Now that the spider was trapped, she only had to worry about falling to her death or drowning in funky water. This was definitely a work in progress. One down, two to go.

It took a little while to come to, but Lux slowly opened her eyes and after a moment she remembered where she was and what had happened.

The ravine was still there, as were the vines. Yeah, there was no way she could ever cross because she was too scared of heights. Wishing that Bay was there to help her, she wanted to cry. It was no fair. Why did it have to be so hard for her? She couldn't do this on her own.

Tears starting to fall, she wiped them away and slowly got back to her feet. Since there was no way that she could cross the ravine on her own and Bay wasn't around to help her, there was no point in continuing on anymore.

Turning away, she started to make her way back to the beginning of the obstacle course.

Bay thought he had enough vines for now.. laying them down he changed all his vines into ropes so he could use them, pointing his wand he said ”Vinea Funiculus” seeing them all change was amazing. Okay ropes made now he looked at his small boat..

”Okay what was that spell” he stood there scratching his head trying to remember it.. if he wasn’t so old maybe it wouldn’t be a problem but he had to get his memory back he needed it.. le sad face ”okay suck it up” he told himself as he was thinking….thinking…. and BINGO.. he found the spell in his head that he needed.

He flicked his wand at his boat and used the Gemino Curse making sure he concentrated to only make a dozen he ended the curse with ” Finite” okay now that he had enough boats he was clear to start weaving his rope inbetween the boats…

Weaving… weaving.. it felt like forever… but he was coming near the end and he had just used his last bit of rope..

Stepping back he looked at his work.. it looked alright to him and it looked like it would work.. fingers crossed right.. biggest test right now was to see if it was going to float.. pushing it into the swamp he saved one rope just to make sure it didn’t float away on him.. ”YES” he shouted mentally.. it was floating…

Now as the time to get in and see if he could make it across……

DUNNN…DUNNNN….DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN”

Scanning her surroundings she noticed two trees that formed a V. That was perfect. She's read enough adventure books to spark up an idea. Doing her best to run toward them, Beverly was glad to hear the Acromantula scuffling behind her. Avoiding tripping over the tree roots she made it pass the V trees and heard a THUNK. Turning around, she grinned at the Acromantula, who was now struggling to free itself.

Gotcha! "Vera Verto!" she cast, tapping her wand trice on one of its furry legs. She was sure getting too close to the pincers would subtract her points. The Acromantula shuddered, folding into itself as it transformed into a goblet.

First round goes to Wayne.

As a goblet now, Bev could totally out run the 'Acromantula. With a smirk on her face she made her way toward the ravine, only realizing what it was. Oh Merlin. She wasn't good with heights. She DESPISED heights. Reaching said point, Beverly gulped and grasped her wand tightly, her hands growing clammy.

It's not real. Only an illusion. But it LOOKED SO REAL. >_________<

He carefully got into his makeshift boat..and everything was still afloat.. ”PHEW” he was so happy that he wasn’t going to be going for a swim in that swamp… ughhhhhhh.. the smell was even worse when you were on it.. rope in hand he had pushed off from the bank with his foot.. almost loosing his footing..

”ahhhhh” he let escape out of his mouth… sitting down on his raft he was slowly starting to drift towards the direction he needed to go into but not fast enough for his liking…. Seeing that there were a lot of lily pads in this swamp he smiled it was something he could used to spell and help him get across faster.. taking out his wand he used the Transfiguration Spell concentrating really hard on the little lily pads he thought of what to change them to…big fish… that lived in the swamp waters.. which he remembered were Bass.. those fish could really swim and with enough of them can pull my boat.. he did this the double the amount of times he did with the dogs to rocks spell because these little fishies needed to swim and fast..

after he did this spell twenty-four times he was glad he had his rope and he broke it off into little bits.. thank goodness for his love of cowboy books hes learned to lasso things even as small as a fish.. it took him well over an hour to get this fish attached to his boat but once he finished, they were on their way to the beach… ”yeeehawwww” Bay said as he sped along the swamp….

Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

Now was the moment of decision making. Stay behind the tree and fail, while saving herself the trouble of breaking anything major and oh, maybe dying, or set the acromantula in a different direction and make a mad dash for the other side of the ravine. The crackling of the leaves told her she didn't have long to make this decision. Um um um....

Peering around the tree she spotted the spider moving closer, like it was trying to sniff her out which was weird because spiders didn't have noses...did they?

Guess who wouldn't be sticking around to find out? "Stupefy!" Lex didn't stop to see if it worked, on the off chance it did, she only had a little time before that spell wore on when you considered it's massive size. Perhaps she should have used the body binding curse? That would have given her more time but her brain wasn't doing that functioning well thing, she was lucky she remembered anything at all.

As she ran through the maze of trees and bushes and low hanging branches, the Gryffindor stuck a hand before her trying to avoid most of the damage as she went. No looking back, except brief glances to check she wasn't still being followed, maybe her spell worked! Or maybe the giant spider found someone else. Better them than her.
