Survival of the Fittest- Transfig 2

You should all be used to the 8 am Transfiguration lesson by now, today however, instead of the Immaculate classroom, the class will be held in the Irie Room. You are however not to enter the classroom until you are instructed to. Make a line and wait outside until you are let in.

Sophia was really rethinking this because her bones always felt like they were on fire as of late but she had everything planned so there was no turning back. She stood at the door waiting for her class.

Lissy Longbottom 03-23-2014 05:44 PM

Caleb had used the nifty spell that Sophie had taught him to shrink his boat, and it was currently sitting nice and safe in his school bag. Hopefully Caleb didn't take another tumble and break his bones as well as his boat...ugh. That was something he just did NOT need right now.

"Hi Professor," he said with a smile. Hopefully this lesson wouldn't be TOO physical.

oh its Erik ok 03-23-2014 05:52 PM

Nope, not going to get use to the 8 am classes. He still had the mind of a teenager after all. Sleeping in always felt better. Maybe if it was 9 then were would be a slight difference. But not very much. Still lessons in the Irie Room were always interesting.

Seems they were not allowed inside the room. Though making a line sounded pointless. Couldn't they just stand around the door and wait for Bellaire to open it for them. Seemed fair to Nigel.

"Hello Professor Bellaire"

Line forming time.

hermionesclone 03-23-2014 05:57 PM

YAAAAAAAAWN!

Alec rubbed his eyes before dragging his feet all the way up to the Transfiguration classroom. Or the Irie Room, somewhere he hadn't been in before. ... Right? Eh. It was still six floors. Six floors was a lot for this eighteen year old and his aching bones. Maybe he needed a nap, even if he had woken up... what? An hour ago? More than that? Shrug. Maybe sitting down would help too.

He slowly made his way along the corridor, adjusting his tie and only vaguely registering the fact that people were standing outside the classroom. He couldn't make out who exactly the person was so... he'd just continue making his way over. Tie adjusted, he opened his bag and glanced down at the boat sitting neatly inside. Phew. He really didn't want to head all the way downstairs to retrieve this thing. And maybe... just maybe... this would give him time to--

...

Oh.

All plans of making sure he was immaculate and presentable flew out the window when he close enough to notice that one of the people standing outside the classroom was... Bellaire. ... Erm...? "Good morning, Professor," he said, shooting her a smile. Should he wait here, then? Outside the classroom?

Hello Nigel, we're standing behind you. And observing your hair.

TakemetotheBurrow 03-23-2014 05:59 PM

She looked neat, tidy, and relatively normal considering how awful she was feeling on the inside. And as much as Ella wanted to be cuddling on the sofa right now, she couldn't miss a class. End of the term and all, she needed as much practice and preparation for NEWTs as possible. Yeah.

"Hello Professor," She greeted politely as she slid into line behind Alec. Had he been walking ahead of her the whole entire time? Merlin, her eyesight must be worse than she thought.

FearlessLeader19 03-23-2014 06:17 PM

Hobble...hobble...hobble...

Old man Adi made his was for the second Transfiguration lesson, wishing all he could do right now was lay down and take a nap. But sadly, he doubted Professor Bellaire would allow them to do that.

"Hello, Professor,'' Adi greeted when he reached the small group and then fell into the line behind Ella.

Holmesian Feline 03-23-2014 06:18 PM

Transfiguration in the Irie Room?

Benjamin didn't know what that was. He hadn't been there before for a class, had even had decided to try and follow others to find where he needed to go. But as he hobbled down the corridor on the sixth floor, it wasn't really that hard to see where they would be having class today. The line outside filled with students of various ages seemingly waiting for the professor who said they should wait outside the class in a line was as clear as a bright neon green sign pointing the way.

The professor herself turned out to be there when he gave the growing line a second look and got a better sight of things. His old eyes taking more time to notice everything. "Hello Professor," the second year boy greeted as he joined the line at the end behind Adi, echoing his friend's sentiments.

WhittyBitty 03-23-2014 06:53 PM

Yawn

Why did this class have to be so early? Lux was never able to get used to this; she was not a morning person. Heading over to where everyone was assembling, all she wanted to do was head back to her dorm and take a nap. But school was important, and the last lesson had been fun.

"Hello, Professor," she said as she joined the line behind a boy she recognized as one of Adi's friends. Still wanting to take a nap, she yawned again. Was this how the old students felt all the time? If so, it really sucked.

DaniDiNardo 03-23-2014 07:05 PM

The lesson being in the Irie Room almost made up for the earliness of this class. The last time they had class in the Irie Room there was a beach and flying Coconuts. Sadly that was all she could remember, it being way back in her first year and all. Lex allowed herself to idly guess what the room would look like this time as she drew closer. Hopefully not another beach. She loved them, but not when she was a sack of achy bones.

"G'morning Professor."

Lex came to a stop with the others by the door. Of course she wouldn't try going in until told to do so. The Professor was a funny woman when it came to certain things and she wasn't willing to risk it.

Cassirin 03-23-2014 07:26 PM

Lining up? That was sort of cruel, actually, since Mo was all exhausted and achy and he'd only just arrived. Merlin knew most of the student body was aged beyond reckoning, and this little exercise was just kinda... mean. That's what it was.

Bellaire was being mean. Big shocker there.

He stood as straight as he could and tried not to lean against the wall, although Mo wavered occasionally and had to put out a steadying hand on the wall beside him. "Good day to you, Professor."

FireboltAvis88 03-23-2014 07:28 PM

Transfiguration Lesson 2. Sander was looking forward to seeing what they...he would be learning today in Professor Bellaire's class. As he approached the Irie Room he wondered why there were people standing outside. Why weren't they entering?

Frowning, Sander walked up and that's when he noticed the Professor standing at the doorway. Before he approached her, he checked himself. Attire near and tidy? Yes. Hair combed? Yes. Shoes clean? Yes. Shrunken boat in backpack? Yes. Satchel of water? It was heavy and so he knew he hadn't forgotten that.

Confident he was presentable, and that he had brought what was required for class, Sander walked up to the Professoe and greeted her with a smile.

"Good morning Professor." Then he walked over and joined the line. He noticed Lux already standing there. He smiled at her and mouthed a hello....and then waited with the rest of the students.

Deezerz 03-23-2014 07:31 PM

When a lesson included a boat as things necessary for the class then it got Beverly thinking. She bet they weren't just going to sit in them and take notes from there. An activity was more likely to happen, and truth be told, she wasn't too excited about it. Moving these days took EFFORT.

Arriving outside the classroom, she leaned against the corridor wall, her shrunken boat cupped in her hands. "Good day...professor..." she greeted.

She needed rest. Ugh.

Davvy_Wavvy 03-23-2014 07:54 PM

Hey everyone! Sorry you're mostly all old! heh :)

Professor Bellaire started scribbling down their names on her clipboard as they arrived. She needed to make sure everyone was there and she needed to make sure she had all the names just in case someone didn't make it back. At least then she would be able to tell exactly who had unfortunately....er..well you know.

Ahem.

"It is not a good morning but it is a morning none the less. Welcome all." Wait what? She frowned. "Everyone do a sparks test on your wands just to ensure that it is working properly. When your other classmates arrive, instruct them to do the same."

She leaned against the wall slightly. Goodness, what was taking those students?

the fastest seeker 03-23-2014 07:56 PM

You'd think she got used to waking up before birds but nope not really. Was it really necessary to wake up this early?! She was pretty sure whatever they were going to learn could wait until.. say TEN in the morning. It'd allow her to have a proper breakfast and take her time arranging her hair. Now it was fixed in a bum. Which was managed in the way here. Hopefully it looked ok.

Nearing the class she YAWNED to get it out of her system. Let's not yawn in front of professors, but of course it was totally ok to yawn when they weren't looking. Totally.

Trying to look all refreshed she greeted the woman.. "Good morning, Professor," Why weren't they going in? Everyone looked like they were half asleep. Or maybe not but that's that her half-closed eyes showed her. Was the lesson canceled or something. Here's to hoping.

FireboltAvis88 03-23-2014 08:12 PM

A sparks test? Indoors? Sander hoped that he didn't set the roof of the hallway on fire when he cast the spell. Taking out his wand, he concentrated on the level of intensity of the sparks emitting from his wand, and when he was ready, said "Firsitan" while jabbing his wand and thinking the color yellow, above his head.

His wand started to emit little yellow sparks which thankfully flew up only a few inches before vanishing. Glad to see his wand was working, Sander ended the spell saying,"Finite."

Sparks test completed.

WhittyBitty 03-23-2014 08:52 PM

Question for Professor

Smiling at Sander as he joined the line behind her, Lux mouthed a hello back and then turned her attention to the Professor again. The woman was adding their names to a clipboard it seemed. What was going on? Was this a trip? Lux was very curious now.

Make sparks come from her wand? How was she supposed to do that? Confused, Lux looked around totally helpless. "Professor, how do I make sparks come out of my wand?"

Grrr..Meow 03-23-2014 08:54 PM

Bay made his way to the transfiguration class and spotted a huge line starting.. hmmm… spotting the professor he said hello "Hi Professor" seeing that he didn't want to skip anyone to be with Sander and Lux he stayed where he was.. "I wonder why we can't go in?" he thought… normally they got to go in and sit down before class started...

Daydreamer11 03-23-2014 09:11 PM

Stifling a yawn, Alex made her way to Transfiguration class. Why, oh why did it have to be so early? Surprised to see a line forming, she took her place at the end. So they weren't allowed inside yet, wonder why?

"Good Morning Professor", Alex said as Professor Bellaire passed by holding a clipboard. Seeing Sander, Lux and Bay ahead of her in line, she gave each of them a wave. No socializing in Transfiguration. Nope, she would not get in trouble today.....too early.

Anna Banana 03-23-2014 09:11 PM

Sophie hobbled toward the Irie Room where Transfiguration was meant to be held. Was it end of term yet? With every move she made, Sophie felt like she was going to hit the floor and just stay there forever. Or at least until somebody moved her. She finally made it to the entrance of the room and noticed a line forming outside.

She joined the line, although didn't greet the professor, since Sophie was at the end of the line and pretty far back. Somebody was shooting sparks out their wand, and another student was asking how to do the same. Were they supposed to be shooting sparks? Sophie glanced upward and waited for a reply to that question.

Deezerz 03-23-2014 09:19 PM

They were going to have to battle creatures in their boats, weren't they?

Bev pinched the bridge of her nose, tilting her glasses to the side. Her body was so NOT up for this. A nice blanket, maybe some cushions inside the boat were welcomed, but instead they were being asked to produce sparks with their wands.

How...do you do that?

Pushing herself off the wall she watched for anyone who knew, although Lux had already asked, so she waited for an answer. No need to repeat the question. That and she didn't feel like talking.

Saving energy and all.

FireboltAvis88 03-23-2014 10:41 PM

Sophie, Alex, Bay and newcomers.

Sander noticed that other students had just joined their line. The Professor had told them to let newcomers know that they had to perform a sparks test on their wand, so he did just that.

"Professor Bellaire wants us to test whether our wands are working or not. We're supposed to do the sparks test," he whispered to Alex,Sophie and Bay.

He wished he could tell them how to do it but he himself wasn't sure whether he had done it right. Was there other way to do a sparks test on your wand? Sure he could have used the Periculum spell but that sent out jets of sparks and somehow he didn't think it would be appropriate indoors. He could have used the Verdimillious charm which also emitted green sparks but that was usually used to reveal hidden objects or to hurt your opponent. So that was definitely out.

So many options. Sander just hoped he hadn't messed up and chosen the wrong one. His current old age symptoms made reasoning difficult.

Mad Eye Touz 03-23-2014 11:21 PM

Line? What line. Zahra was her own line.

And

SHE

WAS

SPARK-ING!!!!!!!!!

SPARK SPARK SPARK SPARK! Her wand was DEFINITELY READY FOR SOME SPARKLING.

And for Mikey to show up. He came to this class, Z was SURE.

"Betcha can't get bigger sparks than MEEEEEEEEEEE!" That was to everyone waiting. BIGGEST SPARK-ER, RIGHT HERE. It was entirely possible she was doing it wrong, but all she knew was that Professor So and So wanted SPARKS and Z was supplying.

TeafortheSoul 03-23-2014 11:25 PM

West just quietly did exactly as he was told, conjuring green sparks from his perfectly working wand in silence.

... because honestly why would his wand NOT be working? He was actually more suspicious about that implication than anything else. Had wands been tampered with?

oh its Erik ok 03-23-2014 11:26 PM

A sparks test with his wand?

What where they going to be doing that required that. It sounded intense just to test his wand out. Nigel did of course while thinking of what awaited them in the Irie Room. Maybe old age will kill them before they actually start or whatever is in there. Pessimistic Nigel right there.

Nigel tested his wand out again and saw the sparks and just waited.

Expecto-Penguin 03-24-2014 12:47 AM

Kace heard he needed to do a sparks test with his wand? He gave his wand a quizzical look and asked the professor, "Ermm Professor how do i get the sparks out of my wand?"

I mean he wouldn't do a spell because they might end in a disaster. He just stood there looking at his wand till the professor answered.
