Centered among the shops of Hogsmeade is a well enough known pub in the small village, called The Three Broomsticks. Not unlike the Hog's Head down the street in the strictest idea of pubs, drinks and the like, however it is the atmosphere that helps make the latter choice the one hailed by the mass majority. The outside of the building is a good preview of what the inside may look like with the same steep roof as the surrounding buildings, yet taller, with a sign on it's facade featuring, you guessed it, the legendary three boomsticks, all fixed around a lantern to light the patrons' way.
Once you enter the pub, smells and the warmth of the large stone fireplace great you as you place hats and coats by the door. Directly infront of you there are tables and booths lining the majority of the small hall with oil lamps placed on each one. On winter days it is usually hard to find a place beside the large fire grate but if you're early enough, only Merlin can say what will happen. To your left the bar and most likely the bartender Harold "Hops" Lagerty, await you and your order--a few stools await you to take a load off and shoot the breeze with others.
The bartender is pretty sociable to those who don't annoy him. He's seen his lot of warlocks, goblins, and Hogwarts kids to know which ones were trouble and which of those made loyal customers, so be sure not to be put on the first part of the list.
A few rules from the Shop Owner: No brawling, no shouting (angrily), no alcohol to minors, and don't go up the stairs, I live up there.
OCC Rules: No RPing for the shopkeeper and all other School RPG Rules apply.

And so it seemed that she had finally been spotted. Not that Bronislava was purposely trying to hide or anything but she had found it rather fun to be 'invisible' to benefit her observational skills. But now that she had been seen she would head over and find out exactly what was going on between her two classmates. They were acting rather odd.
Slowly rising from her seat, Bronislava walked towards Karina and Mischa, simply giving them a nod as she walked past their table. She headed over to the counter and ordered a gillywater, finding butterbeer too sickeningly sweet for her tastes. Once acquired, she made her way back to the table seating the Durmstrang students. She had a pretty good idea of what was going on. She was very observant, but wanted to get a bit closer to further assess the situation.
"Greetings, you two," she said with the hint of a smirk apparent on her face as she dropped into the vacant seat across from Karina. Her eyes flickered from the girl to Mischa and back again. "Vell, aren't ve cozy," she said, a hint of an amused tone evident in her voice, before she tilted her head slightly to peer at her friend. "By the vay, vhere is Ström?" she added oh so innocently. "I vould have zhought you vould vant to discuss vith him new strategies after our disappointing loss." Or is that not something that was done with one's boyfriend?
Minerva was playing with her bracelet and being fidgety, not that she had been waiting long or bored, just excited to see Ethan again, excited that they had now been together three years. Three years it didn't seem that long, but at the same time they had been through so much together already. He had dealt with so much because of her. She let her mind wonder to different things as she waited, but something caught her eye and she looked up just in time to hear his voice. A blush went through her cheeks at his words. "Well I wanted to try to look nice since it is a special day." She beamed up at him.
She bit her lip as she watched him take her hand and kiss it. Her heart skipped just as it always did. "You look pretty amazing yourself." She wanted nothing more to stand and give him a kiss, but she would be patient there was plenty of time for that. Another smile crossed her at his words, "You've dealt with me for three years, someone should really give you a medal." She couldn't help but chuckle as she watched him sit across from her. Taking his hand once he was sitting she wasn't ready to let go yet. Nope she would hold his hand for awhile longer. "Happy Valentines Day, I love you." It was so nice that it had fallen on a Saturday this year and that it was a Hogsmeade weekend. How great was that!
Finally releasing his hand she leaned to the bag that was at her feet. "I did get you a few things, kind of like your birthday they are a bit silly or dorky, so sorry." She thought they were cute, but to a guy they might not, but she figured Ethan would at least appreciate the thoughts. She picked up the red bag and handed it over the table.
Ethan continued smiling across from Minerva, grinning at her words. "It is a really special day.." Not just Valentine's Day which was always a nice, romantic holiday for couples.. but also a day that marked three years of dating. He couldn't believe it had been that long, yet at the same time it was almost as if he couldn't remember a time when they weren't together. "But you always look great.." He didn't remember seeing that dress on her and wondered if it was new.
He smiled a bit wider as she complimented his appearance as well. He knew she liked the way he looked in a suit, so he made the effort, not to mention he liked to dress up as well. Especially for special occasions which this definitely was. "Well, thank you.. I wanted to look nice for you too." Then he couldn't help but to chuckle at her next words. "You are all the reward I need. I wouldn't change any of it for anything." Yes, they had been through some trying times over the years, but all of it had brought them to where they were now. And he didn't think he could be happier. He looked down at their hands as she took his, smiling, then looked back up at her. "I love you too.."
"You did?" He tilted his head watching her lean down and pick up a bag, then chuckled a bit as he shook his head. "I didn't think those gifts were silly.. I really liked them." He took the bag from her and pulled out what was inside, grinning widely. "Oh Min, these are great," he said as he got out the gift basket, then flipped through the coupon book. "Thanks," he smiled before popping one of the chocolates into his mouth. "Really sweet.. and all my favorites." He gave her a wink, then leaned over and gave her a light kiss before sitting back and looking through the book again a bit slower.
"I got you a few things too," he added then set the coupon book down on the table before pulling out a few packages from his bag and setting them in front of her. "Hope you like them."

The Scandinavian sighed and looked into her mug of butterbeer. Mischa hadn't said anything about inviting Bronislava over, but she knew it would be mean, and frankly, unlike her, to ignore her best friend. Karina hadn't been acting like herself lately; all this niceness with Mischa, and was she feeling cross that she had to include someone else in their conversation now? This was ridiculous. And it needed to stop. She turned around to invite Broni over (very enthusiastically) when she came face to face with her friend. Apparently, she had taken into her own hands to invite herself over. "Hi Broni," she said normally, as if nothing at all was wrong. "I see you find the Butterbeer not to your liking?" she added as the other Durmstrang girl slipped into the seat across from her. Then came Broni's unexpected words: cozy. "Cozy? Yes, I think it is a bit warm in here, but I believe that would be the fault of the building's internal heating management," she said a beat late. She was smart enough to know that if she acted defensive she would only incriminate herself. Not that there was anything to be defensive about! Mischa and she were only talking, of course.
...and now she was mentioning Ström as well. "I believe Ström is resting, at least that's what I believe as I was unable to find him before coming here," she said coolly, there was nothing to be guilty about. It was good that she was being friendly with Mischa, who was on the Durmstrang team, for this competition.
"Actually, I was just discussing the last task here with Mischa. What did you think of it, Bronislava?" she responded quickly, relieved that they were back on safe ground. It was true that Cha and she had been speaking of the task; just before he had gotten her a drink and she had noticed her friend.
But Karina need not bother with the invitation for Broni had already invited herself over to their table. Mischa looked at her coldly. They were the only seventh years chosen to represent their school and that only enhanced their rivalry. But it was not so intense that they did not address one another. He even knew the girl had a thing for him. Why was she interrupting him and Karina? Didn't she have better things to do? Like preparing for the second task.
When she spoke, Mischa merely took a sip of his butterbeer though he acknowledged her presence with a nod. Karina was addressing her anyway. He kept his face impassive even though the mention of Strom sent guilt waves flooding through him for the second time.
Mischa shrugged off the feeling but not before another wave of jealosy hit him at Karina's words that she was unable to find Strom. If she had Strom would likely been here instead of him. Once more he tried to push this away as well.
Instead the seventh year forced himself to turn his full attention to Broni and her reply.

Minerva couldn’t stop smiling, no she was smiling probably bigger than she had in a while. She was so happy just to be sitting there. It was nice to be with him, but especially nice to be with him today of all days. Last year’s Valentine’s Day slipped out of her mind quickly as she looked into those green eyes. Glancing down she blushed a bit, “Well thanks, I’ll have to tell Ari you like her dress and that she did a good job with my hair. She curled it for me.” She certainly did work harder than usual at her look for today.
“You always look nice, so you didn’t have to try too hard.” she beamed, even though there was something about him in a suit that just did something to her. He was so cute in them she couldn’t help but to just stare at times. A softer smile formed as he said she was his reward, “Now you are just being sweet, but no I wouldn’t change anything either, even if a lot of the drama was my fault or my problems.” She hated that, but it really made their relationship what it was and if she wasn’t honest with herself it probably helped them be so strong through this term away.
Min was so glad he liked all his birthday gifts she had owled him. Still not liking the fact she couldn’t’ give them to him in person, but it was over and next year and the rest she could be there during it. Her grin stayed as he opened his gifts and seem to like them. “I don’t know if you know what this is.” She picked up the heart and opened it, “It’s a compass, muggles use for directions. See the N, E, W, S, for north, south, east, and west. I thought it was cute.” She shrugged maybe it was silly, but she liked it. Not being able to help a giggle when she saw him look at the coupon book a few times, “trying to see if you can use any of those now?” Even though he could get all the hand holding, kisses he wanted without the book. She smiled as he kissed her and she of course kissed back. “I’m glad you like everything.” Boys were always so hard to pick things out for, but she felt she had found some cute things to show how much she cared.
Looking at the packages she gave a small smile before opening them. “Oh Ethan they are lovely.” She picked up the bear giving it a squeeze and the pillow, “These will go nicely with my other bear I snuggle with.” They were just perfect, then when she saw the bracelets she smiled and took his arm placing the one for him on him and then placed hers on. “These are adorable, I love them. No everyone knows you’re taken.” Not that she had anything to worry about, she trusted him fully and she knew her questioning months ago was just silly now. Especially after winter break and their talk of future things.
Schuyler crinkled her nose in disapproval. But Aidan went on to explain why exactly he disagreed with the majority of her GOOD reasons. Food, of course. All boys loved food. But apparently all the other things weren't up to snuff for the Ravenclaw. She gave him an unimpressed look, although there was a smile there nonetheless. "Well, I can see why you're not a Gryffindor." Maybe asking someone to a dance was a little stressful because it had the possibility to not go as you would like it to. But she thought the hope of the person saying 'yes' would outweigh the fear of that person saying 'no.' She gave a sigh. "Ah well. I guess you're not the first boy to dislike dances and fancy attire." But she held true to her belief that if they Hogwarts did host a ball, Aidan would end up having fun even in spite of himself.
Why Botros? "He seems very gentlemanly and he's so cute. Like, in an old man way." She wasn't actually romantically attracted to him. Hah. "But most of all, he probably knows some really good dances. Like, older dances, you know?" And she would want to learn those from him. He was a good professor, so he'd most likely be a skilled teacher in other areas.
Yes, Schuyler, FAILED. Aidan smirked.
...Then chuckled. "I think that's the first time I've heard that. I'm always told I should have been a Gryffindor." The thing about not being the first boy to dislike dances was relieving, though. It was always relieving to him when he wasn't the only one, when he was normal. He's had way too many years of insecurity about being less than. Thanks to Lotus mostly.
But he was with Schuyler now. The ever interesting, mysterious, beautiful Schuyler. Who would go on a date with Botros. After a small laugh about it, Aidan nodded seriously. "I like that." Her reasoning. The fact that she wanted to learn the dances part, not the 'cute'. The 'gentlemanly' got stored somewhere for later use.
"So..." Aidan searched for something more to talk about. This time, he failed and resorted to what was right in front of him, "How long have you been drinking coffee?" Such a dumb question. But it was on his mind. It just seemed like a very mature drink, was all.

"Oh?" This was a first? "The chivalry part is appropriate," she agreed. He could put the 'chivalry is dead' phrase to shame. But she didn't really care what house Aidan was in because she would like him regardless of any of that. Plus, blue didn't look too shabby on him.
And he seemed to like her answer regarding the professor date question. She simply gave a smile and a shrug of the shoulder. It was the truth. Another perk of having a ball would be seeing how the professors reacted, by the way. Would they take their spouses? Significant others? Other professors? Because they ought to be allowed dates, too.
But the thought was dismissed when she heard Aidan speaking again. About coffee, which made her glance down at the cup momentarily. "Since last term." Fourteen was grown up enough to drink coffee. And it looked so cool, right? Although now she actually did like it for the taste. As long as it had the cream and sugar in it. Black was too bitter for her palette. "I wouldn't say I'm a coffee addict, but I like to buy it when I'm out sometimes." She nodded to his cup. "And you?"
Was Mischa actually glaring daggers at her? Bronislava simply looked at him impassively before focusing her attention back to her friend, Karina. His look only proved that she was indeed interrupting something and simply served to further her amusement here. The only thing she was truly worried about was that now neither of them would be as focused on their task as they needed to be. One reason why she never indulged herself in such trivial things as relationships. They were only acceptable if they did not get in the way and there would always be time for that kind of thing once she accomplished the things she wanted.
Taking a sip of her gillywater, she simply shrugged at Karina's words. "A bit too sweet. Zhis is more my taste." She blinked at the other girl's explanation. Internal heating system, right. But it came as almost funny. She wasn't sure if she was deadpanning or.. well, what exactly, but the girl allowed a faint smile to appear on her lips. "Yes, must be faulty." Or something like that. But if there were something going on, she really hoped Karina would at least speak to Ström before he caught wind of whatever. She owed him that at least and she wasn't sure that Mischa would man up. They definitely needed some girl talk.
Bronislava grew a bit lost in thought as she traced her finger around the rim of her glass and listened to Karina talk. After a moment, she looked up, her face lacking expression. "Vhat did I zhink of it? Ve lost. Zhat is all zhat needs to be said. It vas sorely disappointing." It wouldn't matter if they lost by one point or a hundred points; whether they came in second or third or whatever. They were not first and that needed to change. "I zhink all six of us should discuss our strategies to be honest." And what did Karina think? She would be interested to know if she had other thoughts.
Kace decided to go and visit the three broomsticks. He wanted to get away from the castle and doing homework. He just wanted to have fun and talk with his friends. He did invite Marigold to come along and she was supposed to meet him here.
As he made his way in, he felt the breeze and smelled butterbeer and the food. Plus he noticed how crowded it was but he craving for butterbeer had grown stronger. He got an empty seat near the back of the restaurant and decided to wait. He was happy observing the crowd and how people were enjoying Hogsmeade on this beautiful day.
Minerva couldn’t stop smiling, no she was smiling probably bigger than she had in a while. She was so happy just to be sitting there. Ethan couldn't help but to smile as he looked at Minerva. She was really so beautiful and there just seemed to be such a glow about her when she smiled. It really lit up the room. It didn't matter to him what she wore, he always thought she looked great, but it was nice that she tried to do something special for him and he appreciated the effort. "Oh, it's one of Ariana's?" He should have figured that best girlfriends often shared clothes. "Maybe we'll have to get you one of your own like it.. and I do really like your hair." She did a great job with it.
He grinned back at her in response to the compliment. It was good that she thought that he didn't have to try to hard. He did make the effort, but he knew girls always seemed to take longer to get ready, though he wasn't sure exactly why. Ethan looked down at their hands again, smiling, before he looked back up at her, gently shaking his head. "Sweet or not, I do mean it.. I think our relationship is amazing and even the challenges we had helped make it that way." He shook his head again and chuckled. "No.. those things weren't your fault. It's life. Things just happen," he added with a shrug. Some things just couldn't be helped but it was the reaction to those obstacles that really made the person or relationship.
Ethan looked up at her, then at the heart as she picked it up, not realizing that it had a compass inside. He knew what they were but hadn't realized there was one inside of it. "Oh.. yeah, I see," he smiled, looking at it as he took it back from her. "It's really cool." Maybe they could use it together sometime, looking at stars or something. He laughed as she noticed how hard he had been studying that coupon book. "I was actually," he admitted, flipping through it again and stopping towards the front. "I think I'll use this one right now," he added, tearing out one that said 'Good for One Free Hug' and handing it to her.
He smiled widely as she looked over her gifts, happy that she liked them. "I thought he looked good for snuggling." Then he held out his arm as she took it, grinning as she put on the one bracelet for him and then put her own on. "Yeah.. not that anyone needs a reminder, they already know I'm yours," he added with a chuckle. He certainly talked about her enough for people to know. "But I like the symbolism that it holds for each of us." He looked over at her wrist with the bracelet and smiled, before looking up into her blue eyes, his smile growing wider.

He shrugged innocently and chuckled when her reaction to Missy was. "Well i need to call you some type nickname." he said giving her an excuse. "Aww you guess? Well that is not the type Marigold answer that i am accustomed to hearing." he told her honestly. "Have you tried the butterbeer here yet?" he asked her curiously.

"But I like the symbolism that it holds for each of us." He looked over at her wrist with the bracelet and smiled, before looking up into her blue eyes, his smile growing wider.
Minerva smiled and nodded, “Yeah it’s Ari’s. I feel like I’ve borrowed a ton of her clothes this term.” she chuckled a bit, he knew friends especially girls shared clothes didn’t he? Well if he didn’t he did now. She looked into his green eyes, “Well maybe I do need to get one if you like it that much.” Of course she would want to get something that he liked her in. Oh he liked her hair as well, well that was nice to know. “Thanks” She was so happy that everything she tried hard to do was working out well.
She squeezed his hand as he talked and her mind couldn’t help to go to a few of those things he talked about, “I think you’re right and I’m glad, well okay last Valentines Day I’m not glad, but most of it I’m glad it happened to some extent. It’s made us, it’s made me better to an extent.” She hoped that made sense, but it probably only did in her head. She would have probably only changed a few things, but even those horrid things made them stronger.
Minerva played with the little compass in her hands a few more moments before putting it down. “I’m glad you like it, I wasn’t sure, but thought it was something different and you know I like keeping some of the muggle things around.” she chuckled a bit as she glanced at the coupon book. Her smile grew as he looked through it again and pulled one out. “I think I can do that.” She smiled and got up going around to his chair and sitting down on his lap just as she done that first time they were ever in there. Giving him a tight hug and then a small kiss before going back to her own chair. She smiled for a few minutes at him before handing the coupon back. “Keep it that was on the house.” Giving him a small wink, she looked back at her bracelet.
She moved her wrist, “It’s like the necklace I got you. You will always hold that key.” Her eyes went back up to meet his. Smiling she glanced around at the crowd. “Did you want to get something to drink or anything?” Well of course he did, but she figured she’d ask anyway. “Everything is great E, this is nice.” Any time she could be with him was great. She would take whatever she could get. She snuggled the teddy bear in her lap. He was going to be perfect for snuggling.
As she kept the bear in her lap she looked back up, “So anything exciting going on at Uni right now?” Not much was really going on at school other than quidditch and the normal classes. So she hoped life outside of the castle walls had something interesting to listen too.
Beau nodded, that was a good idea. "A good idea, I s'all not question w'at made zem change zeir mind." He chuckled. He would still question but only in his mind. Yeap! He looked around. Where was this place? Turing to her as she spoke he nodded. "A' it is good at least one of us knows w'ere zis place is!"
Otherwise both of zem would be lost in the cold. He quickly caught up with her and was in step with her. "So is zis place a good place to, hang out?" As they continued to walk he still was looking for the place wondering what it would like.
Adelaide nodded. Of course she only had a general idea, but she was enjoying Beau's company. She shrugged. "From what I've heard it's great." You know. It being her first time here and everything too.
"Here we are." She looked up at the sign before opening the door to go inside. Ah. That was much much better. Adelaide looked back at Beau. "Wow. It's crowded." Hopefully that could find an empty table.

Beau "Zat is good, I would 'ate to get zere and 'ave it be a bore." Yes that would be dreadful. As they walked he thought of some ideas that he could do at 'ogwarts. Reaching the door. He was going to open it for her.. but she opened it first.
"Lovely..." Walking inside he smiled, perfect. "Yes it is..." looking around he spotted a free table. "Ah look a free table!" Walking over he pulled out a cheer for her and waited for her to sit down. After she had sat down he walked over to his own seat and sat down himself.

Adelaide nodded. She looked around the place and looked over to where Beau was pointing. Indeed there was and it was actually going to be a hot commodity because it seemed to be the only one.
She followed him over to the table and couldn't help but blush as he pulled out the chair for her. well now she definitely couldn't blame it on the cold. Addi smiled as she sat. "Thank you." It was nice having a gentleman around. And now for silence because she had no idea what to say.

Beau sat down and smiled at her blush. But he pretended not to notice, to be a gentleman."You are quite welcome madame." He looked around it was filled with people to the brim he hadn't seen a place so packed. "Did I ask you what house you were in?" He had forgotten to ask, they had spoken of Hogwarts but he wasn't one hundred percent positive if houses was ever asked?

Man this place was crowded. But at least it was obnoxiously loud. That way they could actually have a conversation. You know, if Adelaide's brain decided to start working again. That would be a very good thing. Oh. Her house. "I don't think you did. I'm a Slytherin. You and students from other schools are supposed to be split up among the common rooms right?" At least that's what she thought she had heard.

Beau let a smile come on his face, ah she was a Slytherin. "Yes your sources are correct. I will be staying in the Slytherin Common Room. Now you 'ave to tell me about Slytherin. I know nothing except for ze name and ze traits you are supposed to posses. Zough it is hard to believe that you are in ze House of Slytherin." Hopefully she didn't find that offencive...

Well that just made this a little bit better. Addi actually had a chance to see him more often, which was definitely not a bad thing. ...and cue another blush. Gosh. She needed to control herself. "It's nice...if you dont mind staying in the nice dark dungeons." Obviously she was used to that by now. "...and as for me fitting in, I guess it's more loosely based on the loyalty and ambition to succeed in everything that I fit." Because that was what the hat had said.

Beau's nose cringled. Dungeons? Darkness? He was made for no such things. Realizing the face he was making he shook his head and smiled... She hadn't seen that face right? "Dungeons? Zey make ze Slyzerins sleep in ze dark dungeons? Zat is crazy!!!" He would have to talk to his Headmistress about this! He would so not be sleeping on the floor!!
"Ah okay. And it is great to succeed in everything, with ambition comes success is what my father always says!" More often than he said hello to his own children.

Adelaide caught the face. She was pretty sure her face had looked somewhat similar when she found out where she was going to be living. "It's not the horrible. A little damp because it's under the lake. But we have a really cozy little common room and if the boy's dorms are anything like the girl's the beds are fantastic."
Addi smiled and nodded. "You have to want to be the best to actually get there." If that made any sense.

Beau listened closely as she explained what the dungeons were like. Hmm sounded like the hideour he uaed to play in when he wanted to be alone. "Ah okay it sounda better now. Under the lake zat sounds interesting, I never knew zat about 'ogwarts."
He had imagined that the dungeons looked like a real dungeon but by her description it spunded better. "I dont zink my fazer would say it any different."
He didnt want to tell her that that wasnt a compliment though.
