The Black Lake lies behind the castle and though it may seem like the water is calm on the surface, you will learn that that is not the case underwater. Creatures have made it their home from Merpeople to Grindylows. The most notable is Bartholomew Henry, the Giant Squid. The lake is a beautiful place for you to hang out and….take a boat trip? A dock has been made by Mr.Cantwell and tied to it are 15 pedalo boats in the colors of the houses.
The pedalo boat is a pedal-driven paddle boat with a stirring wheel in the middle. The driver rotates a pair of pedals with their feet like bicycle pedals and it glides over the water. You can change course with the use of the wheel. An invisible barrier has been casted somewhere on the Lake, preventing the students from going too far. No worries though, once your boat hits the barrier it will simple turn around slowly.
Lifejackets are a MUST. Anyone getting caught without a lifejacket on, no matter how much of an excellent swimmer you are, WILL get brought back immediately by the Groundskeeper once he sees it. The lifejackets are a magical fit so no complaining that yours is too big or too small.
Waitaminute! Waitaminute! Waitaminute go back!! Did she just mention a forbidden forrest? Cutty steadied his breath and tried to listen to the words that followed, but it was hard to hear anything over the notion of a secretive sounding place like the forbidden forest.
"It's bugs." He said stepping a bit closer so that he could sort of wave it in her face and test whether or not she was a shrieky sort of girl who was afraid of spiders 'n all that. "And I'm not calling you Jezz. People are going to think you're my girl." He said, giving her a look that suggested he suspected she might like it that way although given his age it looked undeniably ridiculous.
"My turn!" He sort of wanted to ask Jezz about her house, but first things being first. "Why is the forbidden forest forbidden? Or is that just a name the adults have given it to scare us away from it?" He tilted his head a little and gave a tiny smile, trying to sound as naive about it as he could.
Jezz just stared at the vial of bugs and then leaned back. "Yes...well. I don't see why you put them into a vial. Honestly, what is the purpose of doing that?" She shook her head and leaned back. His girl. She couldn't stop the peals of laughter that emitted from him. It was so absurd it was silly. "I'm not your girl. You're eleven and I don't date." She didn't want to anyway. Too much drama. Maybe after graduation. "Anyway, people wouldn't think that. They would know better."
"It's forbidden because there are a lot of evil bad creatures in side and they don't want ickle firsties, and other students, to get eaten." She wouldn't mind being in those trees though. They were seriously tall. Nice view that would be of the castle.
"My turn again!" She hummed and smiled. "What's it like....to be a Slytherin?" She'd always wondered how the other side lived and now she had someone, other than Hannah, that was in Slytherin that she could talk to.

Oh oh, he was REALLY interested in the lake, she could clearly see it by his behavior, and she now started to worry, would he ask her to GO and to TAKE one of those pedalo boats??? She didn't hoped it and luckily he didn't talked about them, so she released the breath she now realized she had been holding... She was now really NOT wearing the right clothes for something like that and... what would happen when thy would fall out of the boat? Her whole clothes would be ruined! And her rats, they weren't used to swim... But, again, she was lucky because he started to talk about something else.
"Haha" she laughed friendly at him. "I have also been lost the first time when i was here, i was so lost that i have ended in a strange trophy room while there was something wrong... And i REALLY had not planned to be there, I ended up really at the wrong side of the castle, so don't be ashamed, everybody has had the same problem!" But now that Lucian mentioned the kitchen she became a little hungry, so she decided to visit the kitchen when she was heading back to her common room.
OH NOOOO! She thought that she had been lucky, but she had been wrong!!! He still wanted to use one of the pedalo boats and she REALLY didn't wanted it! But, wow, what was he saying? Her idea? She only had said that he could use those to find the giant squid but not now, not directly and at THAT MOMENT! She had just decided to reject the boy and to just leave when she saw the happy look in his eyes and... she sighed. "Okay, BUT! You will behave yourself and i DON'T want to get wet! Okay?" She spoke calm but with some authority to Lucian because she ONLY wanted to use those boats only with those conditions...
"Something wrong?" he asked curiously. "What could go wrong in a trophy room?" The only thing wrong he could think of was Slytherin having no trophies, but that was impossible. He'd grown up admiring everything Slytherin. They must have tons of trophies. For great merits. And great people. And Quidditch championships...
Right?
Aaah! Lucian saw the look on her face and knew she was about to say no. He was ready to put his I'm-so-innocent-and-cute-you-want-to-spoil-me-rotten face when Sonea AGREED to go on a boat ride with him. On PEDALO BOATS. But jeesh! She sounded like Jerry's big sister. He didn't have any older siblings -- or any for that matter -- so this was his first taste at that. He smiled wide anyway. "Deal! I'll behave, and don't worry. I'll wrestle the Giant Squid down if he tries anything funny with you, 'kay?" He eyed the green boat. "Can we go now?" BEAM.

" She didn't ask what the older girl might be thinking of, figuring it could be anything from prefect stuff to her relationship to contemplating a new hairstyle.. And if she wanted Claudette to know, she figured she'd tell her without too much prying. "It's so pretty and peaceful even." The French girl moved a little so she was more facing the lake and she leaned back. Even with all the students around, it was still somehow quiet.
Catching a movement out of the corner of her eye, Claudette looked down and watched the puff for a moment before turning back to Minerva. "Oh, I was just exploring," she answered with a shrug. "Just wanted to see what all was around." The lake was a rather nice spot, she thought, and her eyes drifted towards the edge of it again, landing on the pedal boats. She thought over the question for a moment before answering. "Everything's fine.." she said lightly, shrugging a bit. "Classes are alright, people seem nice enough.." But something seemed to be missing. It just wasn't quite as exciting as she thought it would be to come to a new school.. though she supposed she should give it a chance. Term had only just begun.
Minerva smiled, "It's a great place to do a lot of things." It really was her mind went to all she had done at this lake the past few terms. "It's always been one of my favorite places. " She pet Fluffy as she leaned against the tree. "Ethan and I use to hangout a lot here. It was actually our first date." Her smile grew at these words, but Claudette probably didn't want to hear about all that. "So are you going to tryout for quidditch this year?" Million dollar question... Will she be the next claw in her family to play?
See her eyes shift Minerva looked out at the lake, "Hmmm when did those get there?" Had she been so deep in her own thoughts she didn't notice the change. "They are always changing this place. Most of my favorites are gone again. Last term we had a butterfly garden and a treehouse." She frowned a bit about the butterfly garden. It was a special place to her. That and the orchard that had been gone for a few terms now. "So the boats are new this term. Maybe we should try them." She wondered if Claudette would want to.
Minerva didn't like her answer. Just alright.. nice enough, "Are you sure you're alright? If someone is bothering you, you can tell me. It's my job now to help take care of that stuff, plus you are like family to me. No one is going to bug you with me around." Nope no way was that happening, but she assumed she was probably missing her friends and stuff from her other school. "Do you miss the other school? I know Ethan did at first." She hoped Claudette would soon feel at home here, but she could only imagine how being the new kid felt. At least when she started she started with a bunch of new kids.
Jezz just stared at the vial of bugs and then leaned back. "Yes...well. I don't see why you put them into a vial. Honestly, what is the purpose of doing that?" She shook her head and leaned back. He but the little phial of bugs into his robes pocket and leaned against a large water-side rock, letting his legs do a few small jumps just to release some pent up energy. "The purpose is so I can have them if I need them. What if one of them is required for potions or something and I haven't got the money to buy one on the spot. It's always best to be prepared, especially at this school." Cutty stopped short his jumping and smirking to frown. What did she mean that people would know better? He looked pensive for a second or two before he realized that of course it must have been that they would not believe he was dating a fifth year, when there'd be so many younger witches to chose from.
Cutty's smug expression returned again and he answered her. "Quite nice, really. No one messes with you." His little hands clipped onto the side of the very large rock and he swung his legs around to take a seat upon it. "And we get to sleep in a dungeon."
"What's wrong with that tree over there? It's further from the lake and all, why aren't you climbing it?" He asked pointing to the infamous willow.
Wade was still beaming at Tay after their exchange. It had been a while since the train ride, hours wise and everything. He considered visiting her table during the starting feast, but well, Head Boy duties insisted he greeted all the new little kitties badgers sorted. Oh well, ancient history now.
He was happy to hear Tay doing well, "That's great, I've been alright myself." Watching her twirl a few more times. It was kind of cool knowing he could always expect a show around her. "You're getting even better at that," He nodded as she finished her twirling. Oh, and see, it was amazing that they could eat normally again. Smirking as Tay pretended to not know about the boats he so wisely pointed out. Oh, he knew that she knew. Heh.
Well, now he knew she wasn't the only one who hadn't been on boats much. Shrugging, "I did some kayaking with Indy in the summer.. it's sort of similar." He looked back down at the lifejacket still in his hands, right, still holding them. "Oh.. yeah, I was thinking about it. You want to give it go? It wouldn't be as much fun alone." Wade then saw Tay look back out at the Lake, he thought he heard her say something. Though he couldn't quite catch anything other than 'squid'. Was she worried about the giant squid? He looked too at the Lake trying to see what she was seeing, but there was nothing unusual going on,"Seems nice.. you ever been in the Lake before?" He asked. If not then, maybe they could change that.
Taylor beamed right back at the new head boy. ”I am glad that we can still talk and hang out even with you having new responsibilities with being a head boy this year. I bet you will do well in that job, leading a balanced routine that has fun, classes and your duties as a head boy.” Nah, she wasn’t trying to butter him up or anything, just stating what she thought was true. He, after all, is hanging with her right now so he at least have some time to chill out and have fun… that is, of course, if he thought hanging with her was fun… and from the beaming smile and their interactions as friends, was a pretty good chance… she hoped… Tay liked being his friend. Wade was nice, fun, funny and just plain cool to hang out and joke around with… who else would bark and meow with her? Wade, after all, did teach her how to meow in exchange to Taylor teaching him how to bark. She smiled at him, happy with his answer, ”I am glad that you are doing alright!” It was always good when her friends was doing well and are happy. It made her day even better, knowing that her friend was okay. Taylor looked at him and blushed, looking down for a few seconds before looking back at him, ”You really think so? I mean I have been dancing and twirling since I was 2 or 3…” Tay beamed in pride, happy that he thought she was improving, even if he might have just said it to be nice. Taylor saw his smirk at her pretending and knew that he knew that she knew. She giggled and smiled then tilted her head, ”Kayaking? That sounds fun.” She smiled at the mention of his girlfriend and then shrugged, ”Why not? I mean what the worse that can happen? I fall in the water or be bored to death by it… which I doubt either would happen so I would love to give it a go.” Taylor smiled and reached to get a life jacket. ”You are right, it wouldn’t be as much fun if one would go alone… You don’t get the joy of having a friend to hang with and you would have no one to share with.” Taylor had looked back at the lake and then looked up at Wade, ”Yeah… once for class a few years back…” Insert a shutter of a bad memory forming… ”and I recently got knocked into the lake by Harvey… he was trying to see my drawing and lost his balance, pushing me into the lake.” An annoyed look came as she remembered that moment as well.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Elwood raised her arms in the air as the boat made contact with the water. After a moment of brief hysteria in which she clung to the edge of the boat with a death grip as he nearly flipped the boat upon his entry, she spoke to him once more about his title. "Well, I'll call you Science officer captain, okay?" Because she really didn't know what the difference was and they were in a boat on the high seas so she was going to call him some sort of captain.
Right so now to paddle. "I think we need to push the paddles now. We need to push them this way." So Callie began to cycle her side of the boat the way she believe to be right.
Science officer captain? There was no such thing, silly Calista. There was Head Science Office, like Spock had been, but the term Captain was only applicable to the ship's captain. Airey never saw himself as that sort of fellow, especially not Kirk. Tiberius wasn't very Kirk like either, but Airey called him Captain simply because they both shared the name Tiberius. It was a perfect fit as well, you know, the whole Kirk and Spock friendship and then their friendship.
He didn't end up saying any of this though and instead just stood their with a goofy smile on his face as he thought about Star Trek.
Oh, wait, right. Calista and the boat and he needed to put his feet on the things.
"I don't think you do it that way," he said as he squinted at the way her legs were moving. Starred was more like it. "Surely they go THIS way," he said, doing things the opposite of how she was doing them.

Still surveying the scene outside by the collar of the sweater, Schuyler spotted a pair of students looking their way with somewhat blank, but suspicious expressions. She chuckled and slipped back down again, her eyes glinting briefly when they returned to Olly's. "Pretty sure some outsiders think we're a couple of snoggers."
She moved onto her side and used her arm as a makeshift pillow. "How do you like Hogwarts so far?" The two of them could exchange experiences as fifth-year newbies. At the moment, Schuyler didn't have much to fuss about. Maybe one or two things, like certain drawbacks of the 'everyone knows everyone' bit or the fact that they had to pay eight sickles for each visit to the library. The Gryffindor grinned when her friend proposed that they wear this sweater all the time. "Yes! We should wear it to one of our classes." The reactions alone would be worth it.
Snoggers?
Olly joined in when Schuyler chuckled, her eyes on the other girl's face for a moment before flicking up towards the collar. Not that she could see much from her current position but moving would require...well, effort. And she was quite comfortable right now. "We'll keep that in mind then." She replied with a small grin, her eyes back on Schuyler. This oversize sweater might actually come in handy some time...heh.
Propping up her head with her head, Olly considered the Gryffindor's question for a moment. "It's better than I expected." She finally admitted with an attempt of a nod, which failed miserably due to her head's position. Yeah. Nevermind. "Lots of people though..." Which was clearly a negative aspect. She understood that, yeah?
"Yes!" She grinned at Schuyler when she pretty much suggested exactly what had been on her mind. To classes. And just all the time really. Though they sadly couldn't sleep in it...separate Common Rooms and all. Bleehh. Speaking of..."How do you like Gryffindor so far?" Apart from the fact that Olly was not in the same house of course.

Yes, maybe those kiddos would think differently when they saw that it was two girls climbing out of this sweater. Or, maybe not. Schuyler's eyes had returned to Olly's now as she waited for an answer. The dimness in this giant sweater didn't bother her. In fact, Schuyler actually liked it this way. "It's better than I had expected, too," she admitted. Not that she thought it was going to be terrible. But she did think that she would be starving and eating off of Styrofoam plates. "Speaking of people, I met West Odessa. He said he saved you from an old hag with threats and half an apple."
Aaaand, they would be wearing this lovely, soft, giant sweater to class! Schuyler mirrored Olly's grin. "You can get one sleeve, and I'll get the other, and then we'll share the collar." She paused for a moment when another idea swept into her head. "And sometimes we should go headless!" Meaning they could keep their heads tucked in the sweater so that they looked like a four-legged, two-armed... thing.
"I like Gryffindor very much." It suited her well. She poked Olly somewhere - her arm, maybe? - as she spoke again. "I should have threatened the hat to get him to put you in Gryffindor, too."
He but the little phial of bugs into his robes pocket and leaned against a large water-side rock, letting his legs do a few small jumps just to release some pent up energy. Jezz felt a little sorry for him. "You know if you ever need money or anything you could just ask. If not me you could always ask....Heather." She knew the boy had a soft spot for the older woman. She had so much money to give it wasn't funny. She even said it herself, she never knew what to do with it.
Meh. "Sounds boring," she said shaking her head. She loved her house. All up high and away from stress.
"That tree would smush me Cutty. It's the Whomping Willow." She shook her head and just leaned back in her normal and safe tree. "You're not muggleborn are you?" He seemed to no nothing about anything about Hogwarts. "Have you even read Hogwarts, A History?" She remembered reading it until the pages fell out. She also hoped she didn't sound like she was prying.

It made her day even better, knowing that her friend was okay. Taylor looked at him and blushed, looking down for a few seconds before looking back at him, ”You really think so? That sounds fun.” She smiled at the mention of his girlfriend and then shrugged, ”Why not? I mean what the worse that can happen? Taylor smiled and reached to get a life jacket.
"Yeah? Me too." Wade smiled, it was always nice hanging out his friends, and Tay was no exception to that rule. He was slightly taken aback by her compliment. It had been on his mind about the position. He always liked looking out for others, especially his friends and well.. now it was a big thing knowing he really will as a requirement. "Thanks, that's.. very nice of you to say." From what he knew of Tay, she definitely wasn't the type to fake being nice and considerate. She genuinely did care.
Guess Wade wasn't the only one feeling taken aback by the words being said. "Really.. it's like you were born doing it." Like, usually you can tell when someone's gotten better in a day but with Tay.. It was like a graceful improvement, one that you couldn't tell until it dawned on you after thinking back. The kayaking, "Yeah, it's definitely not bad." Okay, the bored to death part made him laugh a little. "Right you are." Besides, even if they did fall over, the Giant Squid usually was there to help out. His expression softened as he could see her reliving a memory. Was it bad? Sure sounded like it. "Sorry to hear that.. Well, I definitely won't knock you in.. unless you ask." He tried to smile a little, though he wouldn't be surprised if she didn't take the idea as funny as he did.
Now they had their life jackets on and everything. "I wonder if the Giant Squid is here.. " He wondered aloud as they approached the boats to step in. Wade had always wanted to see him, maybe not today if it couldn't be helped.. just someday would be good.
Jezz felt a little sorry for him. "You know if you ever need money or anything you could just ask. If not me you could always ask....Heather." She knew the boy had a soft spot for the older woman. She had so much money to give it wasn't funny. She even said it herself, she never knew what to do with it.

He seemed to no nothing about anything about Hogwarts. "Have you even read Hogwarts, A History?" She remembered reading it until the pages fell out. She also hoped she didn't sound like she was prying.
Cutty was a little upset that Jezzebelle didn't shriek or even back away in disgust a little. Not that it matter once Malfoy entered the conversation. He couldn't even hear her name without experiencing a sort of blind euphoria and determination. It gave him the strength to hold his tongue through Jezzebelle's remarks, which he found irritating. It was like Heather was magic.
Oh, wait. She was.
"Hogwarts a what?" He asked looking genuinely confused. His mother had told him next to nothing, if not nothing itself about her alma mater as for most of his childhood, he didn't even know what house she was in. What's more, Cutty's father dominated the topic about his schooling whenever it came up and had no wish himself to see the boy at Hogwarts.
Oh, why was Lucian asking her if there was something wrong? Was it so easy to see that she DIDN'T liked it to go in one of those pedalo boats and to get wet? "No, there is nothing wrong" she tried to sound optimistic for him because this was his first experience with the lake. She stared at the lake and at the boats and wondered again WHY she was doing this for this kit, who had helped her when she wanted to color the whole common room pink with magic? Nobody! But what was she doing now? She was doing something she didn't liked... And than she looked at the boy and... okay, he really looked happy so she could do this for him... Just once and ONLY if he was doing what she wanted and if she would NOT get wet!
"Oh, the trophy's were missing, but it was a joke from the prefects" said Sonea simply, she didn't wanted to confess to Lucian that she had been really confused and that she didn't had understood what was happening... No... she tried to look superior as if she had know all the time that it had been a joke and that she had not been fooled just like all the others! She flipped her hair over her shoulder and lifted her chin up.
What was Lucian saying? Whistling with the Giant Squid? "Haha, thanks, but i don't think that that isn't such a good idea, using or wands is more effective, or call for help and HOPE or pray that the groundskeeper is hearing us and will safe us" she still laughed and stepped to Lucian and wanted to give him a friendly pet on his arm. "But thanks for the offer, i will not forget his" she still grinned and opened her pocket for her two rats to hide inside.
"Yes, we can go now" nodded Sonea and walked toward the green boat and pointed at the Life jackets before she grabbed two of them. "Put this on before you're stepping in the boat because i will NOT jump after you in the lake if you're falling" said Sonea VERY serious, she wasn't making a joke about this, she REALLY didn't wanted to get wet and if he would fall he needed to safe himself!
Jezz's eyes rolled sky high. This was going to be a long term. He didn't say anything about not wanting money from Heather so she'd just write her about it. Anyway, she needed to let her know that she was still alive.
She waved her wand, "Accio Bag." She hoped she had it in there still. It was a well beaten copy given to her from her dad. She caught her bag as it landed in her lap and dug through it. Pulling out the battered book wedged between her Arithmancy and Astronomy books she smiled. "If I let you hold this you can't have mud on your hands. Go rinse of in the lake."
She opened up the cover hoping he'd do what she asked. The pages were bent and worn and her favorite interesting facts highlighted and underlined. Yes, this would be great for him. For a few minutes anyway.

Cutty moved over to the lake bent down and made little spalshy noises as his hands whipped and slushed through the waters. He lifted them out twice for close inspection before deciding they were clean enough and when he was done, he wiped them against his outer robes for drying. Then, he moved back over to Jezzabelle and held out his grubby little mits.

"You need to be careful with it," the lion said staring him down. "If you destroy this book I will have your head." She wasn't kidding. This book was all she had left of good times for the moment. Tender times she would never get back. Passing the book slowly down she watched with immense caution.
"It tells all about Hogwarts. Everything you need to know, and things you'd never believe you'd want to know." She dropped out of the tree but kept a good distance from the water. Any sign of something bad her inner lioness would pounce so fast.

Cutty eagerly took hold of the book and leaned against the large boulder once again with his feet out pushing against the ground for balance. He cracked it open and saw an illustration of said willow in a section apparently discussing the grounds. A smile cracked onto his face as the realization of just how useful this book would be dawned on him.
"When do you need this back?" He asked, still turning the pages and not looking up at Jezzabelle.

She hesitated over him paranoid. She wasn't comfortable with letting that cbok out of her sight. "I need it back as soon as possible." Which meant right NOW. She swallowed. "I'll let you borrow it for a single day then I NEED it back. It's the one thing that I have left of my father."
She hadn't opened up to Cutty about her own family issues. The father she cherished but rarely saw. The mother she couldn't completely stand but always loved. The dead grandfather her heart called for. He'd never know unless she felt he'd be able to listen and understand. "I mean be extremely careful with it." Like it was glass and your skin is concrete careful, she thought but didn't say aloud.

Cutty froze in his position as Jezzabelle spoke, so that his eyes were the only thing that moved as they locked her serious tone. His mouth hung in a sort of unasmused pout as he listened to the utter care with which he was meant to treat the book. It was only a book! And, anyway what kind of dead-beat was her dad to have only ever bought his kid a book. Or that's the way Cutty thought of it. "Merlins ear-wax, Antoinette, I'm not going to do anything to your book. And they say Slytherins are dramatic." He shook his head a little and closed the book, holding it close to his body.
"Well, I guess I should get started on this book you leant me, then otherwise you'll start chargin' me late fees like the library dooz." He teased light-handedly however, his tone for some reason not as cruel as it could've been. "See you tomorrow!"

Jezz let him go off with the book wrapped tightly I his arms fighting the urge to run after him and gently yank the book from him. Turning to the tree, she hoisted herself back into the branches and climbed even higher. He had twenty four hours and if that book wasn't back in one piece he would be in pieces.

Gwen needed to write home. It had been more than a week that she'd been away and her family hadn't heard from her once. Her mum would be sick with worry, if she noticed. As soon as Gwen thought that she recognized that the thought wasn't fair. Her mum did the best she could with five children at home, and of course she would be worried about her second-youngest. She had grabbed her notebook and pen and was scouting out a good place to sit when she spotted the lake. The lake they had ridden boat across when they first got here. Though she assumed there was another way to get from the train station to the castle.
It had been pretty wonderful so far though. The people were welcoming...er, as welcoming as they could be with Gwen's typically suspicious nature. She lived in an old castle and learned about magic. If she had known how much power she had at her fingertips...everything would have been easier, and would be from now on. She had read through most of her books already and she knew that skilled wizards and witches could increase the smallest amount of food, or stop fights right in their tracks. Confuse people, and persuade them to be on their side. Her life was going to be perfect from here on out, she was sure of it.
Gwen plopped down on the grassy slope leading down to the lake and lay on her belly in the grass to begin composing her letter. She wasn't a very good writer, but Severin somehow always knew what she was trying to say, and he would help everyone read it. Just, how did she put into words how...what was the word...magical. How magical the experience had been?
Airey had gone quiet for a moment as Callie paddled her side of the boat. They weren't moving very much at all but an inch or so still counted in her opinion. TRYING COUNTED!
Finally the Science officer captain spoke up and he thought his way would be better. The blonde didn't think so just nodded. "Ummm maybe both could work, I mean you could do you it your way and I could do it mine?" She continued to paddle her way, and the boat began to turn into a slow circle.
"What brought on the idea of a boat ride anyways?" She asked curiously, not noticing the circular motion they were now making in the water.
Lucian eyed her, but didn't pry. What if she said no to riding the PEDALO BOATS? He couldn't have that. He was already to excited and telling him no would just break his heart.
Wait. The Prefects played a joke on them? And stole the trophies? How freaking awesome was that? He would have freaked out, though, he wasn't going to say that aloud. "Ah," he nodded. "But the trophies are back? Slytherin DOES have trophies, right?" he asked. Slytherin couldn't be a loser with no trophies. Actually, now that he thought about it. It was an impossible thing.
Walking ahead, swinging his arms on his side as if he was a big macho man, Lucian lead the way to the boats. He turned around, walking backwards and grinned at Sonea. "I know a few spells. I can stiiiill protect you, you know." Because he was the guy and the guy had to protect the girl, no? Even though he was a Slytherin he could be a knight in shining armor...with the skills of a snake. Eh? Eh? Uh-huh!
He turned toward the boat and was about to jump in when Sonea told him about the life jackets. Lucian decided she wasn't serious about the not saving him part. She so would because...well, they were buds now. Besides, he knew how to swim, so he'd probably end up saving her. "Fiiiine, I'll wear it," he said, taking one of the life jackets non too enthused about it. "Can we get on the green boat? I like green." He strapped the jacket on and beamed at Sonea.

And so she found herself making her way leisurely down the grounds, HOPING that she looked like she just stepped off the runway from the way the light wind had messed her hair up when in actual fact it seemed more like she just rolled out of bed.
And bored as Merlin would be playing Sudoku, of course.
Which was a pretty regular occurrence for her but whatcha gonna doooo? Find a friend to bother and poke fun at, obviously. It seemed that it was FATE that Theo would be standing a little bit away, looking absolutely ridiculous. Blue grinned wickedly and sauntered over to him, waving cheerily at him. "That's a good look on you." Nawwwt really though. "Totally your colour. You're workin' it." Thumbs up. Ah yes, so unfortunately that you just happened to be trying on a life jacket while she was walking by, Theo, but alas!
Wriggling free from this thing was proving to be extremely difficult, so Theo just gave up. He slumped onto the ground, which didn't even hurt because he was padded out with this vest. Wouldn't it be inconvenient if one of his friends would find him looking like this?
Psshht...
......
Of course, this was Hogwarts. There was always a friend around the corner when not wanted.
"Yellow is not my colour." The only reason he had one of those on, was cos he couldn't find a green one. "What're you doing here? Are you going swimming, too?" Hopefully she knew how to swim 'cause that meant a swimming teacher for Theo.
Actually, Blue was totally the sort of person to push him into the lake or something.
GET AWAY, BLUE.

Olly just nodded along when Schuyler agreed with her. Yes, Hogwarts had definitely exceeded her expectations. So far. Though, the fact that they had to PAY to get into the greenhouses was a definite drawback. Before she got the chance to go get lost in her own thoughts, her friend said something that caught her attention. "Yeah?" Her lips curled into a slightly amused smirk when she mentioned she'd met West. "Well, I obviously didn't need any saving." Obviously. "He just said that to impress you." Yes. Smiiirk.
She just laughed as Schuyler went on and planned their life in the sweater. Yes, and then they could grab things together, each with one hand and stuff. "I'm really looking forward to walking headless." Olly commented with another grin and a small shake of her head. Like, that would be REALLY hard, yeah? Because they couldn't actually see anything underneath the sweater. Well, except each other, of course.
Ouch! Olly caught Schuyler's hand by wrist lightly when she reached out to poke her, before almost immediately letting go of her again. "Hey!" But she was still grinning. About the moment and the words coming out of the Gryffindor's mouth. Threatened the hat? "I guess I just can't roar loud enough for a Gryffindor." She joked a little half-heartedly. It WAS really sad that they weren't in the same house. "Hufflepuff is fine too I guess..." There were a selected few nice people she'd met. A SELECTED few.
Sigh. The day was a little cloudy, perfect for Tora's mood. Her normally excited and curious attitude has dissolved into a dull indifference. She didn't know why she was feeling particularly depressed today. Maybe it was because she had finally finished her book, and well, it didn't end happy.
Sigh. The lake was gloomy and dark. The water just choppy enough to destroy any reflections, but not enough for Tora to take any interest.
Sigh. She was really out of it today... Maybe she should just go....
