It's a cool evening for October. A full moon hangs heavy over the Forbidden Forest, and the stars are bright diamonds in the crisp night air. For those students and professors enjoying this term's prefect event, the weather is perfect bonfire weather. Take a break from the other activities and join your friends around the charmed fire. If you stay long enough, you may see the flames change colors.
Plenty of seats are available around the perimeter of the fire pit, including a few felled trees pulled out of the Forbidden Forest, a bench or two, and even a pile of blankets for those intrepid enough to sit on the ground. The fire is well fed and well maintained, so students shouldn't have to throw any logs on to keep it going.
And what would a bonfire be without food? On a table tucked back from the flames, students can find a variety of pajamajestic snacks: marshmallows, chocolate bars, and graham crackers for s'mores; hot dogs and buns; popcorn, both popped and unpopped; assorted finger foods like sandwiches, cookies, and pickles; and a seeming endless supply of hot chocolate and warm milk. Sharpened sticks rest against one end of the table, so be sure to grab one before heading back to the bonfire.

She knew the boyfriends would get so many brownie points for making animals for their girlfriends, but she wanted nothing to do with helping, because she didn't have enough Reese Cups and Diet Coke to get her through seeing the cute couples making animals. "Yeah.. I bet Ella and.." wait he said Nash.. "Who is Nash dating?" She knew he had been talking to Taylor, but were they dating now? Hmm that would be interesting. "Did you make an animal for Indy? I bet she will love that." Absentmindedly she started fidgeting with her own teddy bear on her lap. "Oh ours is going well. There has been some people there, but I don't think it's been as busy as other places." She shrugged she didn't mind that it wasn't. She was having fun over there.
When he talked about Indy she couldn't help but put a hand on his arm. She knew how it felt to be places and have to watch everyone else being cute. "She will be well again soon and then you two can hangout all over the castle." That was the plus of her still being at school she would be better and then she could be at other functions. Min on the other hand wasn't that lucky this term. Minerva laughed as he talked about the mattress sliding, she could so picture Wade surfing on those mattress and she laughed harder. "Kitty don't be showing anyone up. You know you have surfing experience so mattress sliding will probably come easy to you."
She clapped as he agreed to make the hot dogs.. "Thanks.. I.. I've come along way with everything, but.. well you know.." He knew everything from last term, so he probably already knew why she didn't want that close to the fire. Thankfully she was able to just sit back and enjoy it from her summers treatment. Cringing though, "Wade don't even think I'm sitting here if you put pickles on the smores. I tried your chili, but not on smores." That just sounded gross. Now Pickles on hot dogs wouldn't be bad. She felt his arm go around her and she smiled. He was such a great friend. "Thanks Wade" not even using the nickname she hoped he knew how much she appreciated him and all he had done for her.
Guess Min didn't know about Nash and Tay yet.. Then again, she didn't share a room with either to know. Wade merely smiled, "He's with Taylor," Oh yeah, his gift to Indy. Made his smile brighten, "Oh yeah, I made her this." He lowered the zipper in the front of his onesie, just low enough to pull out a pink and fluffy teddy bear before zipping it back up. Holding it out for Min, "Go on and have a feel," Waiting until she held it before asking, "Think she'll like it?" Wade was a little surprised on the pillow sack race not being as busy. "Oh, well I'd have to check it out then." He definitely wanted to do all of them pretty soon.
Wade looked back at Min when she had her hand on his arm. He took his hand over hers before lightly squeezing it. Only Min right now could feel his pain, "Thanks Min.." He wished he had better comforting words for her, that didn't include words mentioning how long the wait would be. "You and Ethan will have so much to share once you're together again." After hearing about his surfing experience, he laughed with Min. "Oh, I'll try not to." If it really was as easy as it sounded.
Wade eventually came back with the dogs, graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate bars before handing some to her. "Yeah.." Wade knew a lot that went down between last year and now for her. Then he burst into laughing a little louder than usual. "Oh don't worry, you won't have to try this," He was surprised that Min actually went ahead and tried his pickles and chili the other day. He then put one of the dogs on the stick.. and pickle too before holding it close to the fire. While still hugging her, he heard her thanks. It made him smile before he leaned his head against hers for a moment, she really was one of his bestest friends ever. "No problem." Now they could get to the s'more and hot dog making.

And then she plopped on a log, setting Mavis against her leg before clearing her throat.
Aheeem. Aheeem.
"Excuse me everyone, if I can have your attention for a moment please." She said in a louder than normal voice and smiling that classic Beezus smile. Afterwards, she went on. "In behalf of your Pajama Leaders," aka Student Leaders, psshh. "I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to every single one of you who came to join us this evening. That includes our Professors. And we sincerely hope that you all are having a nifty good time tonight." Ugh. She really hated herself sometimes. Now she was feeling all emotional that it was her last year at the school and all. UGGGHH. So, she ended up biting her lip....her fingers moving of their own accord and playing up chords of a certain song.
"I'll....disrupt your moments for a while with one song." Beezus mumbled, chuckling a bit as her index, middle and ring finger found their places to set the C chord. She began to sing.....
"So let's sing na, na na na na, heeeey ya.....
Come on let's sing na, na na na na, heeeey ya...
This is our song, that's all that matters
'Cause we all belong right here together
There's nothing better than singing along
This is our party
And this our song......"
Chord shift! From G to A...then back to C. Those were easy enough chords so she wasn't having problem with the progression. She had a good mentor, after all.
"And grab your guitar, sit by fire....
'Cause we all need a song
When we're weary and tiiiired
We'll stay here.......together....and sing it out loud...."
... Heh. This was one dream come true.
..Hmm? Wade turned his head to see Beezus making a speech, oh and she had an instrument too? Where they going to sing now? His smile widened at the thought. Wade was no expert, though he enjoyed singing. Indy and his Quidditch mates could confirm that from their locker room and practice sessions.
He joined in almost right away with the groove, "Na, na na na na, heeeey ya." Was no one else going to join them? "Come on let's sing na, na na na na, heeeey ya..."

Minerva thought for a moment and shrugged, “Well that’s nice. I will have to talk to Tay soon and find out more of the details. because one of her closest friends was dating someone new and it wasn’t that icky person. She was excited! Looking back to the fire Min continued to play with the bear on her lap. She looked up when he said he made Indy something. Seeing the teddy bear pop out of it’s hiding place Minerva smiled, “Well I would have picked a different color, but it’s adorable Kitty.” She reached up taking the bear from him for a moment. “What did you end up filling it with? Some of the feathers or the stuffing?” If she was actually going over which that was one station she wasn’t she would have filled hers with owl feathers. “I think she will love it. I bet it will make her feel better too.” All girls liked boyfriend gifts, especially cute cuddly stuffed animals. She laughed a bit with him saying he would come to the sack race, “I’ll race you..” She had raced some others so it would be fun.
Min looked down at that bear on her lap and nodded, “I know and we do get to talk with the mirrors, it’s just not the same, ya know?” At that moment she had noticed more people near the fire and inward sigh was released as she realized it was only a matter of time until this area would be an avoiding at all cost area for her as well. It wasn’t that she didn’t love seeing everyone happy and cuddling cute, but it just made her miss someone even more. “Hogsmeade won’t come soon enough.” She gave a sad smile and felt it was time to change the subject. Laughing as he talked about trying not to be to good at the mattress sliding. Maybe she would have to go over and watch him she wasn’t sure she would try it, but maybe.
As he came back with the food to make she smiled. This was the fun part. She was excited to get the campout food. She hadn’t been camping at all this summer. Oh well she would put it on next summers to do list. Maybe she could go with her grandpa again, he would most likely enjoy that. “There really isn’t a better hot dog than one cooked by a bonfire.” She laughed shaking her head at his words, “Thanks, but even if it was a problem I’m not going near smores filled with pickles.” She stuck out her tongue showing how gross she thought it was.
She watched as he started to cook the hot dogs and smiled as her friends head was on hers. She reached up petting it and then laughed. “Aww Kitty” Laughing more she leaned to grab the buns for the cooked hot dogs. “Don’t worry no more crazy petting cat lady this term.” Nope just normal best friend Minerva, but she could still joke about it..
Ohohoh! Kace had a Penguin! Cool! Adi loved penguins. "Put him next to my hippogriff! They can be friends!'' Heh. He sounded crazy. It was probably the sugar talking but who cared? They were having FUN! And foooooood! Adi, now flat on his back and staring up at the sky waved vaguely. "It's fine. As long as he doesn't hog all the food to himself.''
Kace smiled and put Chilly Willy next to his hippogriff. They did look cute together. He had to admit. Kace was loving life right now and then he laid back with Adi and chuckled at his comment. "I hope he doesn't hog all the foo to himself. I want some of it for later." he winked. Then he heard the guitar playing and Kace nudged Adi to sing along with him.

... Heh. This was one dream come true.
Then he heard the Ravenclaw Prefect asking for his attention. He gave it respectfully and was glad he was here. This was an AMAZING event! He was loving it! Plus Pajamas and bonfires? What could be better than this? Then he saw her get a guitar out. OOOOH MAN! Things were getting serious.
Then he noticed the song she was playing. He was rocking and nodding towards the tune. Then he knew the words and sang along with her. He might not be the best singer but he tried. He joined in with Wade. "Na, na na na na, heeeey ya. Come on let's sing na, na na na na, heeeey ya...
"This is our song, that's all that matters cause we all belong right here toegther, There is nothing better than singing along..." Yeah that was as much as he was gonna do. He had no shame.
Laughing at being called an idiot was hardly something she did but this time there was nothing else to do. He was right. They were both being idiots in one way or another and in the spirit of making up she didn't go nodding at him stating he was a bigger idiot. Sometimes she questioned that. Who'd been worse. Technically, if she hadn't sent that letter, he'd have never humiliated her and they'd have never stopped talking. "Let's...just agree not to be this stupid again."
This was one mistake she never planned to make again. Consider all lessons learned.
Her face lit up noticeably by now. Normal was the only thing she was hoping for at this point. Nothing forced, no caution walks or anything of the sort just them being best buds like they'd always been. They'd had too many good times together to throw it all away for a more uptight relationship. Those were no fun and she put hardly any effort in those.
Lex was perfectly content now and would have even been fine with sitting in a comfortable silence but then he was clearing his throat...Lex raised a curious eyebrow at him, noting his gaze that was fixed on the fire again. She...had a bad feeling about where this conversation was suddenly going. His statement had her eyes darting to the fire as well. Thank merlin this was all under the cover of night because she could steadily feel her face getting warmer around the cheeks, eventually spreading to her ears. Did they have to talk about this? It was something she'd rather NOT have been reminded about BUT denying it had only made it worse last time. He wanted to talk about it FOR SOME INCREDIBLY ODD REASON THAT SHE COULDN'T UNDERSTAND so...
"....Ido." Most of her focus was on trying to prevent her face from gaining any more colour. No need to make it noticeable. "butit'snotonpurpose. Itriednotto."
"Agreed," he chuckled again. If they missed each other, one of them should just go up to the other and talk. Though preferably, they'll never have to miss each other again. Not even during the summer.
Her face surely did noticeably light up. Aidan's grin widened at that. It was SO nice seeing her, and seeing her happy, and not having a shouting match, and them being okay and friends. There were no words that he knew for this feeling. Like everything was exactly as it should be. All was right. And he was feeling happier than he'd been in a month. A whole month.
If he'd seen her eyebrow raise, he probably wouldn't have continued. They were finally GOOD now. What did Dora know? But alas, he wasn't looking at her. And it stayed that way. "I know. I'm sorry. I should've known then, too." He couldn't help NOT liking Lex, so why would she be able to control liking him?
"You're..." his face reddened more and he swallowed, "You're not a rubbish friend, Lex. You're an excellent one. I'm sorry." He...was just going to continue apologizing for everything. If Lex had any points of her own to bring up that he needed to say sorry for, she was free to do so. He had plenty of sorrys to give.

Agreeing on so many things again, just like it had been before. She knew for sure she'd try her hardest to prevent something like this from happening again. This meant that if for some strange reason they'd fallen out again she'd go banging at the Ravenclaw knocker. He'd better know that that would be the point where all stubbornness is put aside.
And the grinning, quite contagious. There was just this REALLY happy feeling now. It was kinda like...eating a box of chocolate frogs...except without the mad sugar rush. That was probably the only way she could describe it right now. "And we have a lot of castle catching up to do." She said . A month that could have been spent finding something epic to do with him was wasted but they had PLENTY of time to catch up.
She gave a small nod. He really should have known. Given a choice she definitely wouldn't have a crush on anyone. It was something she tried to avoid at ALL cost and something that'd probably be easier to avoid now? Hopefully! She wanted this all completely behind her. "If it helps...it doesn't change my views on stuff...and you." Fact. Her world was still very much in black and white. She wasn't about to lose herself in a world of feelings. Ew. Just no.
Lex glanced over at him. "Thanks." Really, thank you. "Means a lot that you said that." Though she'd never actively admit it to anyone, hearing him say that had hurt and had made her feel even worse about something she had no control over. "You should know our friendship means the most to me." So yeah, even if he never liked her in a zillion years she would take it so long as they could still be best friends.

And, of course, they needed to discuss regular Hogwarts goings ons. Like the new professors and, more importantly, the fact that they have real food now and so Lex didn't have an excuse to live completely off of candy anymore.
Aidan turned to her. "What do you mean? What hasn't changed? What views?" That it didn't change her views on relationships? Kissing? Or...her views about him hasn't changed in the past month? That she still liked him? He was prepared for either response.
"You're..." Aidan slid his hands out of his sweatshirt pocket and wiped the sweat away on his lap. "You're..." he sighed, then shrugged, "It's true." In hesitant, choppy movements, he closed the inches gap between him and his friend and wrapped his arms around her.
He may have taken her next words the wrong way, but he pulled back and smirked at her. "You mean more than Lottie?" His friendship meant more to her than her friendship with Lottie?
...He was joking, of course, but was hoping to hear a 'yes'.

It made himself feel good inside. Then after he sat down with his coco, he heard Adi asking if he wanted a sandwich. He burped and said, "Oh no...i am TOO full." he said honestly. He was still burping a little bit. He even chuckled at his made up word. Nomlicious. Hmmm...he liked it!
When Adi asked him the question, he nodded. "Oh yes they do! Just wait for Christmas! That is my favorite time of the year. Their events are amazing." he said preparing the first year. "You will have a fun time." he said with a warm smile.

"Tonnes of epic catching up." She said with a grin. Was it bad that she was happy he'd been bored without her? Because she was. While they weren't talking she couldn't shake the feeling that he was off making best friends with someone else but now she was seeing that that was clearly not the case and that was just really good to know, OKAY??? "Stuff we need to do that Lottie would say is too dangerous and Cassia will subtly try declining." She could always count on Aidan to be as reckless. The only question was where to start. The castle was a big place, you know. Plus, she hadn't gotten to proper shout excitedly about everything being back to normal. Loud noises hurt Lottie's ears. See the problem?
She was going to have to explain this further? Couldn't this conversation die quickly? This question wasn't so bad though, it certainly didn't have her gaining colour just shrugging indifferently, gaze back on the fire again. "Views on everything related to certain things. I'm still not taken in by most of that...uh...you know mushy waste of time stuff..." How exactly did she explain this? "It's like...I'm not suddenly this really girly person--swooning,"Now she was looking at him, "I still don't swoon and I'm not taken in by anything. You don't have to worry that I'll be different." That was also simply a NO.
A HUG!!! The hug meant more than the actual words, definitely and though there was a moment's hesitation she wrapped her arms around him too. Hugs had a way of making everything better.
Lex took in the smirk now plastered on his face and laughed, but it was more a stifled one because she was NOT trying to draw attention to this conversation. Still, she'd missed his humour.
"I meant more than any kind of feelings and liking." She said, smiling and giving an animated roll of her eyes. "I love you all the same, no favourites."
While he had been waiting for Eliza's answer, Cutty had been listening to the sounds around him. The crackling of the fire, the hallow and soft thud of hands handling a guitar, laughter and some snips of conversations including one that featured a familiar name. Cassia. He was pretty sure there had only been one at the school, though one never knows. He had, afterall thought he was the only Mordaunt at the school, but there had been another who graduated before he'd gotten there who Cutty had never met or knew of. Not in his conscious mind.
He looked over, trying to be subtle, but not so good at stealth yet still being an immature snake. His chin went up and he pretended to look at the stars, but tried hard to catch who had uttered the name with his peripheral.

Adi started laughing as he watched Kace practically sprint towards the table for the hot chocolate. He himself wondered how his friend missed seeing the delicious thing. "You'll get fat from eating so much,'' he joked as he bit into another sandwich and then a pickle. But really, who could resist food?
"Christmas is mine too!'' He and Kace had so much in common! Wasn't that just awesome? "I can hardly wait!'' He wondered what the events would be this year. "What sort of events did you guys have last year?'' Surely it involved lots of fooooood!
He turned back to her as she replied to him. Good. At least he won't feel too awkward. Only at her explanation that Angeal realised the rats were coloured. "Angeal. Angeal Phantom," he said simply, lightly shaking her hand. "How is it possible?" asked the first year, looking at the rats. "I mean... How were they coloured?" Was it a charm or did she literally dyed their fur?
She smiled at the younger boy while she shook his hand. "The pink rat, Little Princess was originally brown, but i didn't liked that color, so i ordered one of the maids at home to make her pink. So that isn't a really interesting story" said Sonea with a grin and looked at her cute pink rat. "But the other rat, is the baby from Little princess, his name is Sir Blue. And eh... he is born blue because his daddy was also blue... but i don't know how this daddy had become blue, it was a accident and i don't know the owner from the male rat" while Sonea spoke she sounded a little awkward, she remembered how shocked she had been when she had discovered that her rat was pregnant, she even had asked the previous Care of Animal teacher if Little Princess was sick because she had become so fat and because she had a really bad tamper... But.. she didn't wanted to tell the first year that she had totally been confused at that moment, nooooo, she wanted to look like she had been aware of the situation all the time!

Kace knew he was laughing at him and he smiled back when he came back with his hot coco. "I can't believe i missed that!" he said. Then he took a sip and he loved it. It wasn't TOO hot but it wasn't TOO cold either, it was just right. Then Adi commented on getting too fat. Kace waved his hand and said, "N'aww i won't. I mean we got high metabolisms here." he winked and pointed to his stomach. "I am not too worried." he smiled and still sipped his coco.
AW sweet! His favorite holiday is Christmas too!? Now they were getting along even more! This was getting better and better."I know i can't hardly wait either!" Then he asked about what events they had last year. He had to think about that...."Well i know that we make cookies with the house elves...and we do have a big event for food. We sit at tables and eat and eat. It was soo delicious. I remembered i had a snowball fight too!" he said.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Plus, Adelaide was always one for getting to know the staff and such. She continued to roast hers, hoping it would catch fire soon.
Enjoying the warmth of the fire and watching the marshmallow roast, he brought the stick to him and blew on the food. Taking off the marshmallow from the stick he took a bite and pinched another marshmallow on the stick. Chewing on the piece of food while roasting the other , his gaze went to the night sky. A clear night, perfect for some star gazing. Oh? someone talked to him?
Moving his gaze away from the sky his dark brown eyes looked at a young girl before he smiled. "They're good right? Just don't eat too many, they aren't good for your health, Miss....eeh...what's your name?" He wasn't going to comment on the fact that he had a shirt full of marshmallows right now. AHEM.

Seeing another girl gazing towards him, the Groundskeeper waved his free hand, dropping a couple of marshmallows on the ground. Awww man! He wasn't going to eat them though, he would clean it up later. "Hello to you as well Miss..." gaaah he should really learn names.
The fire was doing a good job of warming her up but it kinda only warmed her hands and her front while she felt a shudder run down her spine. Maybe she really should have grabbed a blanket. Then Adelaide mentioned it and Cassia nodded as she rose to her feet and went to grab one. Once she had one she sat back and wrapped the blanket around her shoulders feeling warmth already. "Much better," She said crooking a smile.
Now she didn't have to extend her arms to be closer to the fire, she'd just let her body absorb the heat that radiated. She snuggled with her stuffed Hippogriff and nodded excitedly at the red-headed. "Exactly! You should totally try it, it really is fun," She confirmed. She liked that Adelaide shared her point of view on the toys thing.
Some would call it silly and childish. Pffft.
When Cassia heard the word flying she wasn't surprised at all. Quidditch was everyone's obsession here, even though she didn't play, she went to each and every game to cheer for her house team and friends. "I saw you were trying out as well?" Was this because Derry tried to bribe them into doing so? Well, it worked with Cat and now Adelaide. "Almost all my friends play Quidditch." She told the girl conversationally. And it indeed was true that sometimes Cassia felt like an outsider. Not that her friends ever made her feel so.
Oh, she was home-schooled. Good thing Cassia hadn't given her opinion on this matter. But then again, Adelaide seemed very nice and cool unlike the other home-schooled girl, Cassia had encountered. Clearly being home-schooled wasn't what gave that girl the attitude. "That's nice, though I bet it's nicer here, being with people your age and all," Surely there must be perks to being home-schooled but Cassia wouldn't know. Though she was curious.
Adelaide pulled her flaming marshmallow out of the fire when Cassia went to go grab a blanket. She considered possibly grabbing one herself. She wasn't exactly chilly, but blankets were always comfy. She smiled as Cassia rejoined her.
"Once I've had my fill of marshmallows I plan on it." She had no idea how long the marshmallow thing would take, but she was going to make a stuffed animal before the event was over. There was no doubt in her mind on that one. She fashioned another quick smore.
Ah quidditch talk. Adelaide was actually excited about this now, especially since she'd gotten a broom and all. "I am. I doubt I'll make it, but it doesn't hurt to try right?" She hoped it wouldn't hurt. From what she'd seen, Quidditch looked like a lot of fun. "Do you just not like playing?" She remembered Cassia saying she wasn't going to try out so it was a legitimate question.
Adelaide took a bite of her smore, swallowing before commenting. "It was nice advancing at my own pace, but it is a lot nicer to be with other people. Especially other witches and wizards." Might as well explain before she got asked. "My parents are, well, pretty well off muggles who hired me a private tutor." Now to wait and see how Cassia reacted.
SPOILER!!: Mr. Groundskeeper

Adelaide turned her attention back to the marshmallow hoarding Groundskeeper. "True. But sometimes it's good to just eat things that aren't healthy for you." Of course she eyed his shirt full of marshmallows. Apparently he'd already thought of that. Oh right. Her name. "Adelaide Adams. And it's Mr. Cantwell correct?" So many new teachers it was hard to keep things straight sometimes.

Pierson had been headed towards the glowing fire ever since he laid eyes on it from the castle. It was cold outside, considering he was used to the warmer air of Greece. He hadn't quite adjusted back to the rainier, colder air of Scotland just yet.
Tucking his hands in his pockets, he nodded to the students as he passed by them and made his way towards the fame. Ahh. Much better. His pajamas were just a basic pair of flannel pajamas, but they weren't doing much to insulate him. Therefore, cold.
Cutty's brows raised when Eliza began to make the little chokey noises, he reached into his pajamas and gripped the end of his wand tight, but his mind went blank as to whether or not he knew or even could remember any anti-choke charms.
But then, just like that the girl turned out to be alright. Cutty laughed unapologetically when the girl referred to herself as incompetent. Cutty couldn't even imagine anyone in Slytherin even having the remotest thought that they themselves were anything like incompetent and for that reason it loaned the comment a certain degree of unexpectedness thus rendering it funny to him. Then he witnessed her shoot an accusatory look at her s'more with her somewhat watery eyes, and at this point Cutty was rolling. He found this girl very, very weird, but it made for amusement.
The seal boy gave a small nod in reply to him having a good time here. He may not have been when he first walked in, but he definitely was now. "My name's Cutty." He said catching his breath. "What's yers?" He asked her over his now burning marshmallow and the acoustics of an older Ravenclaw girl.

Finally getting ahold of herself, Eliza smiled at this boy whom she'd clearly sent into a fit of hysterics. His laughter was contagious though, and she soon was laughing too. She laughed until she felt her shoulders shaking and her eyes watering again. As she wiped her eyes and cleared her throat from that giggle attack, she heard the boy say his name. "Cutty. Nice to meet you," she said between heavy breaths and more eye wiping. "I'm Eliza," she answered with a head nod and a small smile.
The song Beezus was playing wasn't one she knew, but Eliza was quite impressed with the older girl's singing and guitar playing, so she grinned at her and bobbed her head to the beat. Once it was over, she waved and gave her a thumbs up to show her she'd done well.
She let a slow glance fall onto her ice cream eating pal, Alexa, and gave into her urge to eavesdrop for a moment. It seemed her and Aidan Stone were having a serious conversation. There were lots of 'sorry' words and 'like' words. It was all very hush hush, so Eliza couldn't quite make it out, but she shot Lex an inquisitive look before turning back to Cutty.
"So Cutty," she started. "You're new here right?" she asked in a friendly, yet self-assured tone. She was pretty darn sure she'd never met him before, but it was hard to tell who a person was when they wore all black and crept up on unsuspecting fire-goers.
As she sat by the fire, another new figure approached the scene and she soon recognized him as the Charms professor. Now, normally she'dve thought it was fun to see the professors out in their night gear, but for whatever reason, she was suddenly embarrassed for him to see her in her jammies. She shot him a nervous look, then looked away and pulled her knees as close to her chest as they would go, setting what was left of her s'more down on the log next to her, and hugged her knees with her long arms. She glance back at the professor. Does this look weird now? she wondered. Glance at Mr. Charming again. Glance back at own knees. Suddenly feeling rude by staring and not saying anything, Eliza looked up at the young man and said, "Want a s'more, Professor?" Then, realizing he might think she was offering the half eaten one next to her, she spouted out more words. "Er, not this one," she said motioning to it. "I mean, a new one. From over there," she explained, and pointed to the table where all of the ingredients were placed. Nope. Not weird at all. That was completely casual. Now what was Cutty saying again? She looked back to the boy and wondered which house he was in, and hoped he hadn't told her when she'd been distracted. She kept her gaze back and forth to each of them, hoping she could continue talking to both of them while they were there. Or maybe Cutty would want to join in and chat with the new professor as well?
"I meant more than any kind of feelings and liking." She said, smiling and giving an animated roll of her eyes. "I love you all the same, no favourites."
Aidan laughed. "What 'stuff', Lex?" But clearly she needed him, which felt amazing right now. Especially when he'd just felt horrible that she had 'tons' to catch him up on, meaning she'd done 'tons' without him. While he pretty much went from class to common room to tryout to great hall to dorm all month.
When she explained what she'd meant by 'views', he dropped his head into his hands to rub his face. "I...I guess I thought they had? ...That was stupid of me. I should've known." Especially with the tone of that letter. That she was so adamant to keep their relationship as is. So sure that it didn't have to change anything. That should've been a big sign that LEX herself hadn't changed just because she....liked him.
Although, his crush on Penelope had changed him...sorta...but that was private and irrelevant.
"...Oh," he said, kind of disappointed, but smiling just because SHE was and it was kind of contagious. "...Lottie's not around, Lex, no need to pretend." For good measure, Aidan looked behind his shoulder, just to make sure. Lottie wasn't around. Lex could admit he was her favorite. It wasn't like she had a crush on Lottie. It was him. Clearly, he was her favorite. Heh.

So Adelaide was going to make a stuffed toy, too. That was nice. The dorm would look cute with them. Maybe Cat and Derry would make ones, too? It'd be very cute. "That's cool, there are unicorns, elephants. And more I think," She told her.
Cassia smiled and nodded knowingly. She might have not played but she understood the excitement. She's been seeing it on her friends' faces for long that she herself got excited before and after matches, "I doesn't hurt at all," She confirmed. "The more players the better." Ones who had the stomach for the game, of course. "Umm..It's not like I don't like the game, I go to all matches," Literally all of them. "But the idea of being on a broom while being watched by hundreds of eyes doesn't make me feel well." More like she'd probably faint and fall off the broom. Or if she didn't move at all, she'd just sweat and pale out. "I'm sure you'll do well," She reassured her. "Everything happens through practice," Derry and the rest of the team were awesome and would help their teammates.
It never occurred to Cassia that home-schooled might be faster sometimes. Or slower depending on one person's understanding. Rather than an entire class. That was nice indeed, she thought. The blond tilted her head at the red-headed, "You mean your parents don't like muggles?" That's why they hired her a tutor? Or they were muggles. She must have not paid enough attention to get it. Since her eyes were now on Lex and Aidan who were HUGGING! That was good! But she still was surprised. As for Adelaide, she wondered if her parents were purebloods. Cassia was a pureblood but her parents didn't mind muggles. Her grandmother, however, did. So Cassia would totally understand it.

It was hard to get to know someone new just after saying hi but Cassia sensed that the man was nice. And he didn't have a thick accent like the ....deceased groundskeeper. She fought the urge not to ask Cantwell, how did it feel to fill someone's DEAD position. But it didn't sound like a very nice thing to do. "Cassia Somerlad." She answered him. "Fifth year Slytherin." Bonus information, no?
"Is the fire charmed, by the way?" She asked him curiously noticing that no one was manning it or adding any logs or branches.

He was kind of in a dazed state after a while. Fires did that. They were... distracting. So it took him a moment to realize that someone had been talking to him. Oh, hello. Ravenclaw, was it, sitting down by the fire, offering him a s'more. And he was glad to know that she didn't mean the one she had already partially eaten.
"Oh, no, I'm fine, thank you. I'm not a big fan of marshmallows." And he didn't particularly want her to make a new one for him, if that's what she was suggesting. "Thank you, though." However, that chocolate was tempting.
He smiled at her and gave a small smile, "Hey... Yeah it's been fun, and I actually have something for you." Brodie scooted a little closer to her and handed her the small stuffed unicorn"I hope you like it." The stuffed hippogriff wasn't as cute and he wanted to do one of the magical animals... He really did hope she liked it. He sat the paper and quill down and looked at her, "But what about you? Have you been having fun tonight?" Actually it seemed hard not to have a good time, even if you were a loner like him... So he did hope she was having fun... Or if not then he hoped the unicorn would help.
Claudette tore her eyes away from the fire for a moment to peer at Brodie, squinting slightly in the dim light. "Something for me..?" She looked at him quizzically, then smiled lightly at the unicorn. It was a little odd that he had gotten her one when he had just seen her make one at the make your own stuffed animal table, but maybe he figured she really liked them and it was very sweet all the same. "Thank you," she said, smiling a bit wider and giving the stuffed unicorn a squeeze before setting it down next to her.
"So what else have you done?" She had seen him at the one activity but not at any of the others, but that didn't mean e wasn't at any. She was just curious. "Yes, I've been having a great time actually.. The student leaders really did a great job." She looked around a bit, still having a hard time seeing anywhere but near the fire in the dark. "I am getting hungry though.. Do you see where the food is? I heard there was supposed to be some over here somewhere.."

"Just tried to think of something you'd like..." And yeah, he had seen her with one earlier and he supposed now it seemed kinda stupid but... Hey why just have one when you can have two right? He mentally shrugged, kinda realizing how stupid it was to make another unicorn... Maybe his mind was just too muddled at the moment with the request of the two new songs, focusing on writing at least five other new ones and you know... The night Minnie had to basically destroy every bit of progress he had made not just with Claudette, but getting use to being Taylor's friends and getting over his ex. But he didn't want to talk about, at least he hadn't completely lost someone... Though he was sure she didn't trust him at all now.
"I actually haven't done anything else... After making that I just came over here where there's a bit of light so I could write again." He nodded, they had done a nice job... Brodie supposed he should just consider himself lucky Minnie or Taylor didn't put something around the entire event to keep him out of it... but that was aside the point. Food? He shrugged, "I'm not really sure..." Whenever he was really depressed he never did eat much.
He was really craving some S'mores, hence Ryan's reason for checking out this event anyway. Plus, the bonfire was pretty cool. Wishing he had brought Minnie with him, Ryan made his way to the table that stocked all the essentials, and immediately grabbed a graham cracker, two marshmallows, and a sharpened stick that was leaning against the table.
Now all he needed was the fire. Slowly, he made his way towards, it, heating his hands first. Then, he stuck one of the marshmallows on the end of his stick and thrust it into the the fire. While waiting for it to do its thing, he popped the other marshmallow in his mouth and looked around.

Heh.
"Well I haven't decided that yet but there's bound to be something frowned upon that we can do!" She said, grinning even more at the idea of them hanging out and just finding something to do like they did before. "Plus we still have to try out those sculptures with the animation charm." He did remember that she wanted to play with the werewolf while it was moving, yes?
She gave a small nod seeing that he'd finally understood. Liking him didn't compel her to act any different around him, she just kinda didn't see the point and it wasn't her. Thinking about it, she was almost offended. Did he actually think...she'd be...blushing around him non-stop...or like doing that dumb 'giggle at every sentence' thing? "Good to know I won't be trying to attack your face any time soon, huh?" She said, giving him a playful nudge. Really, nothing changed, nor would it. Alexa Cambridge changed for no one but herself.
Also...as caught up in the conversation as she was, she did notice the eyes on them. That Slytherin kid...Eliza giving her looks--good merlin, even Cassia. Lex surpressed a sigh, instead choosing to focus on Aidan again.
This time she was laughing a bit louder and had to clamp a hand over her mouth. Of course she got what he was implying and it was amusing especially when he turned to make sure Lottie really wasn't there. "It's not pretending. I'll admit I like your face the most." But that was about all she was going to 'admit'. Each of her friends were important to her for a different reason--and no Aidan, your face isn't the only reason why we keep you around.

Cutty looked down from the night sky in time to see Eliza give a curious glance towards that girl (Lex) who might have been that close friend of Cassia's. The one with the power to be that BEST Customer. But again, trying not to stare he looked up again at the stars and seemed not to notice the charred remains of his s'more at the end of his roasting stick. No matter. The wind was taking it now and billowing what wasn't melted gook into the calmly roaring flames.
"Yeah. It's m'first year." He answered Eliza confirming her guess and wondering how obvious it was to others. Maybe there just weren't that many students and it was easy to remember faces around here. Professor? Where? Cutty looked over tore his eyes off of the night sky he'd been NOT gazing at and saw that his Charms Professor had taken a seat nearby. Not being in a restrained setting and having just come off of a laughing fit, he was feeling less scampish.

"Oh, no, I'm fine, thank you. I'm not a big fan of marshmallows." And he didn't particularly want her to make a new one for him, if that's what she was suggesting. "Thank you, though." However, that chocolate was tempting.
"He's probably not hungry from the cupcakes he got." His intention was not to tease, but to inform Eliza who may have forgotten that one of the students had given Professor Fuller a few, or possibly a batch of cupcakes. Cutty didn't know how many cupcakes they were talking about there or how long they might have lasted. "What dooo you like, then, Professor?"
