Directly below the Great Hall is the Hogwarts kitchen, complete with five tables identical to and directly below those of the Great Hall. In a place where numerous house elves used to be, crowded around and busily working, is only a small group of about three elves, two of which aren't even "owned" by Hogwarts. Most of their time is spent cleaning up after the previous meal, so don't get upset if they don't have time to spare you a snack.
OOC: Please do not RP for the House Elves! We have a lovely group of actual elves who would love to RP with you if you will please be patient. Toddles is here.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
"Ari's chop'in broccoli" Oakey continued to sing lies about the snake-girl, who wasn't even in the Kitchen. He grabbed a a third piece of Broccoli from the counter and attempted to juggle "Chop'in brocco-li, Chop'in brocco-la, Chop'in brocco-laa-aa"
Of course Oakey had no skill in juggling broccoli, or anything in that matter and all but one piece hit the floor.
Oh had Anya finished the Sandwiches for the boys? He was one of those! How nice, Oakey shimmied over to her and gracifully plucked a sandwich from the counter the Gryffindor Girl was now on top of."Ari's chop'in brocco-lay" he lied again. "Chop'in brocco-lay
Ari's chop-eah-un!"
"Chop'in brocco-loco -lay -eaa -eaa -eaa--eeee"
One tree of Broccoli in hand, and sandwich in another. Oakey need a place to enjoy the delicacy. Where though? His eyes scanned the Kitchen until it landed on the Large Kitchen Sink. His Throne of course, and he wasn't playing games. "Ari's chopin broccoli", but she wasn't.
"She chopin she chopin... Hoggy Hoggy Hogwarts"
Where did that last part come from? Someone threw him off his song? Was it the Tillstorm girl!
Oakey reached the sink, and looked down into it, how had he fit in this before? it almost looked too small. He set the sandwich down a nearby counter and took his wand out. "Engorgio" he spoke as the Sink suddenly went one size bigger. He took his sandwich back and had nice big bite "Ch ch ch ch ch ch ta ta ta ta the bra-co-li-i" He sang, sort of with bits of sandwich spraying from his mouth. "Delicious Sandwich Anya." With that, he sat into the sink. "Ari's chopin brrrrraaaaiiiii. Ari's chop she's chop broccoli. She's chopin beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
Troy was very hungry and the sandwich he had packed himself with was loooooong gone. His tiny stomach was constantly grumbling, strapping his coin dispenser belt back on for in case he may need money once again. As well as his red fanny pack just incase he may need anything else, like a first aid kit, tissues, pencils, extra pair of glasses, winter gloves, socks, etc.
"I'm so hungry I can eat a cow!" Troy rubbed his grumbling tummy.
There was people in here already, he quickly smiled and just joined in and went straight to ask elves for food or see who would feed him?

Peyton made her way down to the kitchen in the same fashion she goes around Hogwarts: skipping. She's been in just such a darn GOOD mood lately that she was all smiles and giggles.
After tickling the pear, Peyton entered the the kitchen and beamed at the small familiar figure. Hehe. He wasn't going to get away from her. A bet was a bet and Peyton expected Troy to honor it like the Gryffindor he was. "Hiiiiiii, Troooy!" she greeted, walking fast to where he was and flopping down on a seat, placing her tiny owl purse on her lap.
The redhead wiggled her eyebrows at the first year. "So, you gonna cook for me?"

EYEBROWS. BEAM.
Troy sighed and nodded. A bet was a bet and he honestly hoped that she had forgotten about it.
"Fiiiiiine" Troy smiled and headed to was his hands so no nasty germs, would rub off on the food and eventually get Peyton sick
*cue Troy's evil laugh*
He dried his hands and grabbed everything he was going to need for this tasty sandwich:
-Toasted bread
-Lettuce
-Tomato
-Mayo
-Cooked ham
-avocados
-(No onions, since Troy didn't like them)
-Cooked bacon
Okay we are good to go!
"Okay, okay. Welcome to Troy's kitchen!" Troy making his own voice over as if he was on a cooking channel. "Toast the bread, cook the ham. Okay, okay, now spread some yummy mayo on the bread. Then slap the cooked ham on here, yeah slap that baby on the bread. Then you add the tomatoes, lettuce, avocados...I hope it doesn't give you the runs then finally add these tasty babies on the top!" Troy took a bite of one of the bacon slices before placing the rest on Peyton's sandwich.
He giggled, he really hoped it didn't give her the runs and if it did well then whoopsie.
"and wahhh-lahh!" Troy smiled and thumbs up, the finished product. A lovely and tasty sandwich.

For everyone else's sake.
"I think its for the person who puts the coin in, hard to say with the way she was yelling." She said thoughtfully. It really would have been nice to get to ask her some follow up questions, but not really necessary since they got so much information already. "I'll say no for myself. I guess I'd take it and give it to my housemates or something." She shrugged and glanced at Alice. It wasn't her biggest concern, coming about the money.
Her eyes flicked over to West almost immediately though when Theo was mentioned and she nodded her head, face brightening. "Of course I want to cook for you both. Anytime." And since he'd brung up her boyfriend. "Where is he anyway?" Curious girlfriend was curious. "I dunno cause she also said we couldn't use the room of requirement, but I don't think she'd know if we did. Maybe our towers if they're not too bad. Or a really nice bathroom." Significant looks at you Alice. "I never considered the dungeons, especially not this year." She'd heard some things about how bad they were.

More watching.
"The dungeons are terrible. I can't even explain it. The beds stink so we're not sleeping in them at the moment, but it won't be long until we get everything clean. We've been working pretty hard." And West had his own blankets anyway since he had a favourite one that he brought from home.
West focused on Dora. Like when you did magic and you really had to concentrate? Like that. He nodded a few times as she spoke. "Oh he's probably showering again. He's not doing so great with all this mess. I'm looking out for him though." Of course he was. Theo was like... aside from his own self, West's biggest concern.
But was he seriously about to get fed? How awesome was that!
They headed down the stairs.
Watching West would have been really difficult and strenuous work while walking down moving staircases and trying not to trip over flat surfaces simultaneously. Alice was really grateful that Dora was tugging her along, so she didn't even have to put much thought into moving and got to focus all her attention on his face. His face needed her attention, clearly.
But who was talking? Did they not realize she was busy looking and that it required her full concentration? A look of irritation nearly crossed her face before she noticed that it was Dora speaking, and she reluctantly turned her head away. "We can try out with a knut. Like put one in and see if someone else can go through a turnstile with it." Experimenting with them and all that.
"I don't think ours are as bad as the dungeons, from what I heard. Nothing some good spells can't fix," she informed them, redirecting her gaze back to West and extending her hand that wasn't still being dragged by Dora to tickle the pear. "Thinsley's not holding up well?" Alice was on her best behavior today, she didn't even snicker about his fastidiousness. She deserved extra food for that.
Her eyes flickered back to Dora as she gave the Ravenclaw a look of incredulity. "I'm not sleeping in another bathroom. The last one was a pain enough. The room, maybe, or the towers, but no bathrooms." She swung open the fruit portrait and entered the kitchen, looking around for the elf that was supposedly still at the school. Was he not in there today? "What kind of stuff are you going to cook? I can fetch ingredients for you or whatever to speed things up." So she got to eat sooner and all.

Wow...this kid was like, a professional chef or something. Peyton's kitchen skills were in the baking area. She loved making cookies and eating them all herself, but when it came to actual cooking she didn't know all that much. Though this couldn't be quite considered cooking. Still, Peyton had elves to cook for her back home.
She watched Troy set up all the ingredients they'd be needing, her eyes going from him to the food, then back to him. "Ooooh!" she said in awe as he slapped the ingredients on. It sort of reminded him of her big brother. The way he'd just pile tons of food together just because he wanted to eat. John was a beast compared to Troy, though. As in a ravaging beast that emptied the 'fridge of vanilla pudding. He scared the elves sometimes. INNER GIGGLE.
"You know," she said, stealing a slice of bacon. "You should have a live audience. You're really good at instructing." She ate the bacon and eyed Troy. "I don't want avocados, by the way. They're not my thing." And what was that about the runs? It didn't sound too pleasant. HEHEEEEE.
FINALLY. FOOD WAS READY.
Reaching for the sandwich, she BEAMED at Troy. "This looks awesome. You're awesome," she said, taking one half of the sandwich and then bit into it.
MMMMMMMMM. Definitely TASTY.
With her elbow she pushed the plate toward Troy. "Haveone," she said, covering her mouth. Manners. M'hm. There was something missing to this meal, though. Something cold and sweet and...mouthwatering.
Toddles had been trying to sleep! Sleep, that's what he needed! The little elf had been doing all the cooking and cleaning (not that it was very good as everyone had noticed) for the entire Castle and he was tired.
And there were noisy studensies and even a teacher-man singing about the ice cream machine. Toddles had sat in that machine once and it wasn't very comfy so he hadn't done it again. "Studensies!! It's loud in here! Toddles has been trying to sleep before he starts dinner." The little elf came out waving his arms and shaking his head.
"Would some of you like to help make dinner?" There wasn't much but still they could help move things around...

Anya practically jumped behind Jake seeing Toddles. It was that elf. The one that... ... nevermind. Not important.
... dinner. She should help with dinner. Her hand tentatively shot up. "I can help with dinner." she said slowly. It was move important that her schoolmates get a good meal, right? She could temporarily put aside her fear of ... that certain house elf.

Dora was totally aware of all the attention she wasn't getting from these two, and she couldn't tell which of the pair was worst. Honestly. She might as not even BE there.
They got all sorts of displeased looks, since Dora did like attention from the right people. Them being the right sort of people.
The looks changed completely though Theo was brought up again, and her looks turn all sorts of pleased and appreciated in West's direction. "Oh, good. I offered to get him some new sheets and a new pillow." She was still going to get him some too, so he wouldn't get so upset over all of this again, but really there was no making anyone totally happy here. Not that she wouldn't try when it came to him.
"I heard we have loads of dust, but not much else. Easy to fix, or get someone to fix." Since she wasn't keen on cleaning a common room she had to pay to get into. "Theo told me they had rats and spiders running about." She gave Alice a look that said this was something to be concerned about cause it was her Theo and all.
Dora didn't drop their hands until they were properly into the kitchens and she had them both seated. "That's.. that's not what I meant."Gosh. Alice didn't even remember, or wasn't remembering cause of reasons. One at a time she took both their faces and trained them on her. "Hi, remember me? I'm Dora. Siddie. I like attention too." Really, she did. They both got significant looks.
"I'll cook whatever you want, or I can cook pasta. You can help gather if you want." It was up to them really, if they could decide on something. She turned and went to grab general cookware, not really looking to see if they would follow to help or not.

"Avocados are like my favorite." He had to point that out because it was a key fact, if getting to know him was a goal.
Hmmm? Maybe he should be a Chef, maybe he should do a "Hogwarts Relief Fund" with BLTs in order to help the school earn some money. Kind of like when you're a kid and you need money, so you set up lemonade stands? Yeah ya' know?
Troy grabbed a slice of the sandwich and added his favorite touch...the avocados. "Merlin's beard! I'm a BLT god!" he praised his own sandwich and laughed.
"I want a taco truck. Wizard style." Troy out of no where spoke was on his mind, as always.
Awesome! Heck yeah he was! "I know, I'm awesome!" He smiled showing his cute from teeth.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.

"You'll be fed soon enough. A really good meal." She gave her head a slight shake and gathered up more things. They didn't say what they wanted, so she was gonna make some kind of chicken pasta meal since that was what she was craving.
There was an eye roll spared for Alice though, as she grabbed ingredients and started to prepare everything for cooking. "Clearly. I'll just save any conversation that requires serious thought for later." When she got them both to herself. But really, what could they talk about when they were like this?
Dora prepared in silence for a minute, not really watching them and more focusing on the meal and getting most of it started cooking. "... Am I still getting attention?" She miiight have been smiling a bit amused, not looking up from her cooking.

"Would some of you like to help make dinner?" There wasn't much but still they could help move things around...
Eliza jumped about a food in the air when suddenly the only remaining house elf at Hogwarts appeared, and appeared to be quite cross with them nonetheless. She guiltily sat down her sugary sandwich and eyed the other remaining chatters and singers in the area. She hadn't even considered the house elf might be sleeping and now she felt horrible. Where do they sleep anyway? Awww I bet their beds are really small and adorable!
She pushed herself away from the counter she'd been leaning on and offered her services. "Hi Toddles,"and what a cute name!"I can help with dinner too! What would you like me to do?" she asked politely and made her way towards the sink to wash her hands first and foremost. She wasn't really the best cook, since she'd never really cooked much before, but she would give all the help she could - especially since poor Toddles had been doing so much cooking by himself lately.
Troy giggled. Yeah he liked getting praised over anything! :3
GIIIIIGGLE.
Now wasn't he the cutest kid ever?
What was it with the first years this term? They were all tiny and cute. Peyton laughed and then nodded. "Don't avocados give you the runs?" Why was she asking that, she didn't know. But he'd said so himself. Or something like that.
She took another bite of the sandwich. It was really good. She stared at Troy for a bit. Would it be against the law to make him her cook? Was that possible? He was even a comedian.
"Don't get too ahead of yourself, kid," she said amused. "What else do you know how to cook?" It was a long stretch asking him to cook some pasta or roasted chicken, but it was worth asking. At least to kill time.
A taco truck? Now that was random.
"Why a taco truck when you could have an ice cream truck?" Now THAT was a brilliant idea. Peyton would definitely invest on buying a truck for that. She'd have to rent a driver, but that wasn't a problem.

"Toddles is very happy to be having you all help me with cooking tonight, there is going to be lots of food to cook." There were like a bunch of studensies that eat at the Castle every day.
He was about to start telling them what they needed when he looked at the first girl, the Ryffinbloar one (Anya). "Hey, you played catch with Toddles once. Toddles likes you, you stay with me." He walked over and held her hand in his tiny, baby one.
"Now, Toddles is being your boss when you are helping him cook, yes? We are going to be cooking the Spaghetti but no meatballs because we don't have any. Also we will be needing salad and bread. No garlic because we don't have it so just butter and bake it in the big warm thing. Nothing else. Headmisses says only one kind of food each night." He looked around waiting for them to help pick what they wanted to do. "Desserts are not our job either tonights, ice cream is always here, it is."

Jake had spaced out. Well, sort of. He'd actually just gotten into a deep thought and tuned out the other people in the kitchen. He was thinking about Anya shocker and about how she had hid behind him when this house elf had shown up. It was the same one she had hid from in class that one time.
And now... it wanted to hold her hand.
Jake grabbed Anya's other hand in both of his and gave it a reassuring squeeze. He had no idea why she was so scared of the house elf, but he was pretty sure that it wouldn't hurt her. And it the off chance that it could... he would save her from the big, bad, scary elf. Until then, though...
"What would you like us to do, err... Toddles?" They spoke in third person, so that was its name, right? "Anya and I can make a salad..."
Was that really necessary, though? Since the elf mentioned ice cream... and ice cream was better than spaghetti and salad and bread anyway.

Oh... and now Anya was being dragged away by the house elf. But... but... she was perfectly safe... andnotfrozenintime... while she was hiding behind Jake. She flashed some wide panicked eyes at Jake. But it seems like she didn't need to. Jake was already holding her hand.
Aww. Amazing boyfriend was amazing.
"Tha--" Anya paused for a quick breath. "That's right. I did Toddles." He knew what happened because of that game of catch, right?
Right. Anya just... needed to focus on dinner. That's what would get her through this. Spaghetti without meatballs. Buttered bread. And a salad. Yeah. It could be worse.
And. ICE CREAM! Why didn't they just eat that? Who cared about dinner?
Minus... parents. And ... teachers. And probably other adults. Meh. She'd just have mostly ice cream when it came time to actually eat.
Oh. And it looked like Jake just volunteered them for salad duty.

As Minerva left her dorm with the two chocolate bars in her bag, she thought of another potion, that she actually saw being made once. Hmm she looked towards the kitchen doors and wondered if they would actually have what she was looking for. The kitchens seems a bit out of stock this term, but it was worth a look.
Heading into the kitchen Min looked around. Now some people put these in the fridge others on the counter. Which would be the best spot here. Scanning the counter she didn't see anything that caught her eye so she made her way to the fridge and opened it. Looking around at all the different items she found the jalapeno peppers with the rest of the veggies.
Taking it a few out of the fridge she placed them in a baggie, before putting them in her school bag. She was not a fan of peppers, nor the smell. So she did not want these things getting any type of juice on her bag, that she would have to smell them or have to clean up after she got them back to class.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
Before leaving the Potions classroom she scribbled down everything she'd need to be grabbing and the first thing on her list happened to be black pepper. There were two places she knew that had this but one of them was another floor up and required 10 knuts. Not happening.
Besides, the kitchen was closer for now and no one would really mind her coming in here. There weren't any turnstiles deterring her. Lex skipped into the kitchen...kinda empty today, no sign of Toddles either.
Poor elf. Hopefully he wasn't off doing work for that other elf again. She'd told him to be a boss.
Alexa headed straight for the counters, avoiding the ice-cream machine. This was technically still during class...but...Professor Lafay wouldn't have to know...
OKAY. Just a bowl full then she'd get back to it--shoot! Aidan had her bowl...she fell to her knees by the counter and yanked the bottom set open. Sure enough she found some extra solo cups. Eh. She'd roll with it. Lex hurried over to the machine and got it filled with a ridiculous amount of ice-cream. GRIIIIN. She could have this with her while she went looking for everything else. Now then. She found some back pepper, pulled out a small container she'd stuffed in her pocket and got some into it. With that, she left, now enjoying her ice-cream. Yum!

Ingredients.... Ingredients....The first place Ella thought to check for ingredients was the kitchen. She knew that several spices were used in potions and so she'd check to see what they had in the kitchen first. Hopefully she could find something that she could bring back to the classroom. Hmmm...
Looking through the cabinets, the blonde bit her lip and scanned the various labels on the spices. No...not that one...Oh. Oh! Oh! Oh!
Cinnamon!
They used Cinnamon in some potions, yeah? The blonde beamed and picked it up, tapping the lid triumphantly before hurrying out of the kitchen. She'd return this later, yeah?
You have bewitched me body and soul, And I love- I love- I love you
As she entered the kitchen she saw that she wasn't the only one with the idea to use something from the kitchen. Looking to see what the others had grabbed she was relieved to see no one had chosen salt, opening a cupboard she looked for the salt, quickly finding it she pulled out another vial and filled it, smiling she quickly looked at her watch again, only 20 more minutes..
At last, Sophie went to the kitchens before going back to the dungeons.
After tickling the pear, she entered the place and quickly scanned around. It was a lot less tidy than when the elves... y'know. Did stuff.
But anyway, it was almost time to go back and she needed her last ingredient, so the Hufflepuff moved fast around the room. They were supposed to be good finders, right? Hopefully she'd find what she was looking for fast enoug---
Oh, there it was!! Heeeeh!
The brunette went over to a counter and actually grabbed the little salt container. She could take just a bit of it, but how would she carry it back? On her bare hand?? ...Well, she could do that, but it wouldn't be very practical, would it?
She'd take the whole thing. Better more than less!

First stop was the kitchen. Apparently, Sky hadn't been the only one to think of the room, either, as FIVE of her classmates were down here. She gave each of them a nod, but otherwise ignored their presence since she was on a mission. She hurried over to the cabinets and started opening the doors one by one, searching through for her ingredient. Finally she found it in the fifth one she searched. Stopping for a moment to fold a piece of parchment into a makeshift pouch and slip on her gloves, she pulled the bag of chamomile leaves out enough to reach in and grab a couple of handfuls. After placing that into the pouch, she labeled it and shoved the bag where it belonged and the ingredient into her robe pocket with the stuff she'd gathered before leaving the class.
One down, three more to go.
