She didn't have to contribute to the jar? Yeah right. Like she was going to take money from a student and not pay them back. "Thanks Oakey, but I can't take your money and not pay you back. I'll be sure to replace whatever I borrow out of the jar." Yes, borrow, as in only for a short time.

"No need to thank me Ella. This is your common room after all." The girl could sit wherever she wanted.

What? They missed having her around? Really? "I'm pretty sure not everyone shares your feelings when it comes to me." In fact she was pretty sure most students were probably happy she wasn't around as much now. One less evil staff member to deal with. "Besides, everyone seems to be doing just fine without me around all the time." Like Oakey, who failed to make his annual visit to her.

Was Oakey saying he was afraid of this girl?. "Well we wouldn't want Ella to have your head now would we." Looking from Oakey to Ella she grinned. Who would have thought, the headboy afraid of a girl. "Like I said, you can stop by anytime you want. Although I'm not sure you need my help with healing tricks." You know, since he hasn't needed her assistance at all this term.

Cece smirked over at Laura when Oakey said she was going to get a brain freeze. "I say let the girl get a brain freeze. Maybe a little pain will do her good." What? It's not like a brain freeze was fatal or anything like that.

Laura was thanking Oakey? As in she was being NICE to him? And now she was saying she was sorry Cece was only part time? What was going on here? Maybe Ethan had been right. Maybe there was something in that ice cream.

Looking over at Oakey again she had a puzzled look on her face. "Who is that girl and what happened to the real Laura Hyde?"

Laura smiled at Oakey. "I'll do my best to listen you to more." Laura said truthfully, she was feeling very forgiving at the minute. "I'm sorry for causing you all the trouble last term." Laura said truthfully, she was in a very happy mood at the minute.

Laura looked at Oakey and decided that she would be brave. "I know I've been really annoying these past few terms, but can we forget about that and be friends again?" Laura hoped he would say yes but well she would wait and see what he thought.

Laura continued to study, she wanted to do her best in the exam, she wanted to try and get A in all her exams and then maybe people would realise she was growing up, she then took a couple of spoonful of ice-creams and smiled.

"Healer Tillstorm, is there anything I can do to help you?" Laura felt sorry for the Healer. "I could tell the headmistress how much I miss you." Laura said truthfully, she could say that if the Healer wanted her to, she gave the Healer a smile before turning back to her work again, she was reading up on some spells for Defence Against the Dark Arts.

With wand and Gandr in hand, Asher made his way back to the Hufflepuff common room. He still had a few steps to complete before going to the classroom.

He found a soft and comfy chair to sit in while he worked. No need for him to be uncomfortable while doing homework. Asher pointed his wand at the Gandr and whispered "Intaglio" as he moved the wand in the shape of the runes being carved into the wood. He focused intently on the meanings and where they should appear on the Gandr.

Rude?! She was NOT rude, thank you very much Tag Kildare.

Elodie was STILL annoyed about being called rude by him, and it had been a while since that very moment where she had been STUCK in an abandoned room with him, and had to deal with his CRABBY attitude. Crabs were not who Elodie wanted to be associating with, and nor did she feel her friends should. But friends apparently had their own minds, and made awful choices and didn't deserve the title 'friend'. JUST SAYING.

In her attempt to be less 'rude', (she still didn't think she was rude, but still..she was going to try be better) Elodie had been practicing this whole walking with books on her head thing again. What that had to do with being rude, she had no idea, but she supposed that one day she would figure it out. When it wasn't fun, that was. Because right now, that was her only reason for doing this.

Three books on her head and her arms outstretched, Elodie started to move around the common room. SLOWLY. Fast movements would make the books fall. That wasn't her intention.

One step, two step, three step.....

Kace needed a break and was chilling in the common room. He needed a breather and plus this common room reminded him of the outdoors. He loved it in here. Then as he was going to poke the fire, he noticed a girl that looked like she had trouble holding books.

Kace went over to her and asked politely, "Ummm excuse miss do you need any help?" Couldn't hurt to ask right?

Els eyed the books that had landed on the floor with an exceptionally loud bang, (or three, as they landed at different moments) and sighed. "Well..I was doing okay with walking with my head in one place, but now I'm not."

So..she didn't need HELP. She needed to get the freak on with her job, and continue with this whole thing she was intending to do.

"Say...little one.." he WAS little, was he not? "You ever tried walking with books on your head?" Maybe it was easier for young ones. Just SAYING, the books had less of a fall to make, and they would probably just make the choice to stay on up there on the boys head.

Experiments were fun.

Oh so she didn't want help...well this was somewhat awkward.....He just stood there until she picked up her books. He still didn't know her name. Then she addressed him as little one? I guess he could take it for now. He would tell her his name later.

Then she asked if he ever walked with books on his head. Erghhh...no he hadn't tried it. But why not start now! "No i haven't walked with books on my head but i guess i could start now." he answered her cautiously.

So he was all for trying now? Elodie grinned at him, before crouching down and retrieving the three books in her arms, before giving him the EYE a few times.

Yeah, he was completely taking part now. "Listen up, orange peel... Any injuries, I take no responsibility. If you drop these books and something breaks, it's on your rep, and not mine. Anyone asks who gave you the books? Not me. And finally.....how many books do you think you can handle?" She was banking on all three, you know?

So...the study tables had been a bust. Ella just couldn't concentrate and she supposed it was because she'd studied a bazillion other subjects at that very same location, making her brain go all crazy recalling everything she'd crammed in there. It was just really crowded in her head at the moment...

Deciding a change might help her write, the blonde settled down in front of the fire place and watched the flames, thinking of the Yew tree. What should she say as a thank you? Hmmmmm.

Well...it definitely wasn't a hit song but it had a certain something. The blonde, satisfied, gathered up her parchment and went to reward herself with some ice cream. She deserved it.

This girl seemed legit. She did seem a little bossy but Kace nodded at her requests. He would not tell anyone it was her. It is on his rep if he wants to try this book balancing act. He nodded to show he understood all her deals.

She asked how many books he could balance. "Erghh...i will start with two books for now." he smiled up at her. The books did seem big so he wanted to be safe.

Els had this whole thing planned out in her head, in the sense that if something happened, she knew what to do. Nothing medical, of course, because she wasn't a nurse or whatever. But if things went wrong, she was going AWOL, and she wouldn't care.

Elodie could live underground, if needed.

..........Well, maybe anyways.

Two books? Elodie smiled back, and handed one book to him to begin with. She'd give him the second once he succeeded with the first. "Two, we can do..." And then three, and then they would have SUCCEEDED.

Kace smiled when Elodie said he can do two books. He held out his hand to get the first book and then started to place on his head.....

But wait..he didn't even know her name yet! "Oh my name is Kace." he said while balancing one book on his head. He tried to but it kept falling off his head. Maybe he needed a different strategy....

"Here you wanna hold the book while i tried to balance it with it on?" he suggested.

Oh, were they getting themselves onto name basis now?

Sophie came running from the girls' dorm, still chasing her bunny rabbit who was a billion times faster than her. "BRADY! Trust me, it's fine! And delicious!!" She yelled again, holding the bowl of ice cream with her left hand and wand with the right one. "Trust me, you're gonna love i--" The fifth year stopped at once when she saw her best friend leaving the Common Room. "ELLA!" She yelled, losing sight of Brady completely. Nooooooooooooo!! Her best friend had left too! And Brady right behind her!

Sophie closed the distance between herself and two younger kids that were... doing whatever there. "Hello there!" She grinned and beamed at them. "I'm Sophie! Do you want any of this ice cream? IT'S DELICIOUS!" Asdfghjkl like WHOA delicious. "I don't even like ice cream that much, but MERLIN, this is good!" The brunette added with a bright and wide smile plastered across her face, her eyes sparkling in delight.

Not waiting for their response, Sophie used her wand and conjured two extra bowls. SKILLS! She also multiplied the quantity of the ice cream like, A LOT, and divided it all between the three now floating bowls. "HERE YOU GO!" She gestured to the bowls that were now floating right in front of the kids' faces, grabbing her own again and eating another spoonful. Was she screaming??? Not really, yeah? No! She was just HAPPY and EXCITED to share that wonder with FRIENDS. Because they WERE her friends, weren't they? They were in Hufflepuff after all!

Kace was beginning to like Elodie. She was kind of playful and had a joking personality. Kace didn't mind it at all. "Alright i want push my luck." he playfully winked at her. He was beaming when she joined in for the competition! "YAY!" he said with a smile when she came over. "But i will do it right for you of course." he told her.

He was practicing with the books on his head. "Now do you have any tips for the book to balance perfectly?" he asked curiously. He used his cute smile when she said she liked his name. He was unique after all.

Then when Sophie came down, he noticed Elodie didn't like her at all. He could just feel the vibe. Kace didn't really want to eat his either. He wasn't hungry. He was still starring at his bowl not knowing what to do. He looked at Elodie for some form of help. He even whispered to her, "I do not even want mine. What should i do with it?"

He just WINKED at her, she was sure of it! No matter if he didn't mean it in anything, she still reached out to ruffle his hair. Right in her pocket where she could have someone all cute whenever she wanted. Because...this kid was okay.

He listened to her perfectly well, and he did everything she told him too. And agreed to her conditions. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?!

Sophie stared at them in disbelief for a few seconds, another spoonful of the most delicous ice cream EVER half-way to her mouth. Hmmmmm, she understood! "You know, I was also quite suspicious about this whoole ice cream thing." She started in a rather loud volume, gesturing around and looking at EVERYTHING and EVERYONE in the Common Room. "But then I tried it - because you know, homework and stuff - and MERLIN IT IS SO GOOD!!!" The sixteen year-old BEEEAMED at them both, still smiling widely. "Did I say that I don't even like ice cream that much?" And that meant a lot! "Yeah, it's THAT good!"

Sophie had missed this amazingness because she was being SILLY like these two little ones were right now. She didn't want them to miss out because ZOMG YUM, SO GOOD!

"I'll leave the bowls here in case you change your mind, okay?" The badger smiled wildly widely at the two kids then leaned forward as if to tell a secret, ending up speaking in a loud!fake whisper. "It's alright if you take a looong time to eat it. It's charmed not to melt!" She griiiinned, winking at them and spinning on her heels, skipping to the entrance of the Common Room.

Check with his parents? Oh, well that wasn't ideal. Elodie shook her head. "I know they'll let me. I'm great." She was like a parent whisperer. May not have had her own parents around, but she was certain she knew exactly how they worked and exactly how they would react to her and everything. Parents were ALL the same. They wanted rid of the kids for alone time and breathers. That's what babysitters were for, and that was definitely what Elodie was for. If she got paid.

Not that she'd ask to be paid with Kace, because oh my wow what a cutie.

She was done with this ice cream girl. She was loud, and she needed a pipe down session in a corner with some tape over her mouth. OVER HER MOUTH TO KEEP HER QUIET GOSH. She put her bowl down beside Kace's and watched as the girl left, and then Elodie rolled her eyes. "People..." Bitter, of course. "Just pretend it doesn't exist. We have a mission."

She clapped for him when he succeeded with the book, and offered the next book out. "Two, now?" Come on kid, experiment! TRY YOUR HARDEST! She felt like a proud big sibling, really really she did.

Having paid at the turnstiles, Alec headed into the common room because it seemed like a great place to write a song. There was a lot of inspiration to be found here, yeah? But he had entered and was immediately greeted by... well... it seemed like Sophs had gone mad. He was sure of it. Not that he was close enough to the girl to know when she was sane and when she wasn't but... this wasn't normal, right?

... Girls... were confusing.

Shaking his head, Alec headed over towards an empty sofa and sat down. Song... song... he needed to write a song! A small frown played across his lips as he took out his things and placed them on the table in front of him. There. This was a start, yeah? It was the first step to, hopefully, getting some Ancient Runes Project work done.

Right. Okay. How do you write a song?
