Post 1 SPOILER!!: Daichi Potions homework… Sonea had been afraid that it would be difficult to make her own potion from the ingredients she had found, so she had asked a older student if he wanted to help her. She had asked Daichi, the prefect from Slytherin and he had no problems with helping her! Sonea was really thankful that he wanted to help her because she had been afraid that she would do EVERYTHING wrong if she was alone! A few minutes later she saw Daichi, he already sat behind their desk and waited for her. “Hi Daichi!” greeted Sonea while she placed her bag behind her on the floor. She zipped her bag open and placed the ingredients she had found on the table so that Daichi could see what for ingredients she had. She had a Lavender, Motherwort, Nightshade and a Jobberknoll feather out of her bag and showed them to Daichi. “I have also my notes with me” said Sonea while she sat down next to Daichi. |

Post #1 Nigel had all his potion ingredients ready and the only thing left was to make something with them. It seemed that most of his stuff was used in Polyjuice Potion. But Nigel did have the recipe for it. But did not feel comfortable making it. He was no potion master. So after some thinking he decided to try and mix some for the things together. He did not really care if it worked or not. Okay, Now lets fill the cauldron with water and put a fire underneath it. It was the first step Nigel needed to do. Also a very important one. "Aguamenti". Nigel looked as his cauldron filling up thinking. One less ingredient to worry about. |
Potions Homework post #0 - just establishing ingredients rn Tobias strolled into the potions classroom, eager to get started (and get creative) on what was sure to be a very interesting potions assignment. Straight away, he went to find his potions ingredients that he'd left on his desk earlier, as per the instructions: fluxweed, a tiny vial of salt, ginger root and lavender. After setting up his cauldron and potions equipment, as well as preparing his ink and parchment (for he was still unsure of quite how to go about this task), Tobias surveyed his ingredients and placed the end of the quill feather in his mouth, occasionally rifling through his potions textbook, as he tried to work out what he was going to do. |
Post Two ................. Now it was boiling! Yay! Sky left it to boil for the required five minutes, grabbing a mortar and pestle instead. She cast a Scourgify on them before picking up the the chamomile and placed it in the mortar. Mash, mash, mashing the chamomile. She discovered that she had timed it out perfectly when she was writing out her instructions because it took almost exactly five minutes to mash the chamomile perfectly. She dumped the mashed plants into the boiling water and began stirring clockwise. 1....2....3....4....5....6....7....8....9....10... .11....12....13....14....15 Next. |

“Really?” She asked the utter adoration for the prefect clear in her voice. “That is amazing – so, what are we going to be making?” She asked as she made room at the table for Beezus to sit down and set up her ingredients as well. Mika had of course whipped out her wand as she sat there talking to her. “Scourgify” there, the cauldron was now extra clean. She smiled brightly, “So, what do you need me to do?” She asked taking a her parchment out she was of course going to make a list of what their potion recipe was. Because after all weren’t they making their own potion here; this could be a momentous occasion. |
Merlin! someone help her! Amara walked into the classroom. They were supposed to be brewing something there....something? She'd thought the room would be empty where she could just sit and keep on thinking about her potions. But to her surprise, she found it teeming with students. Students already in the process of brewing something. The fact repulsed her. She still didn't have any idea of what she could make. She'd thought several times to owl her dad about it, but it would defeat the purpose wouldn't it? Asking for his help when he'd challenged her to learn potions to perfection. She stood perplexed near the door, deciding whether she wanted to enter and make a fool of herself or leave for good. |
Post Three His potion looked the right color. That made Clement happy. It obviously meant he was doing something right. He nodded, giving it a nice good look. He knew he was only at the start though. He hadn't exactly put all his ingredients in yet. Looking away from her perfect potion, so he would say himself, he looked back at his text books. "Chopped dried Nettles..." He murmured, glancing down at his nettles. Well they were kind of dry. More dry than they had been when he had collected them. Clement shrugged, and quickly cut up the remaining nettle leaves. He tried to be as careful as possible, figuring that them being neatly cut would be very good. It took him a few minutes, but he wanted them to be as neat as possible. He glanced back at the text book, before placing the chopped nettles into the cauldron gently. They floated on the top, and he glanced at the text book again. Ahh. They were supposed to do that. Very good. "Stir 10 times clockwise....leave for 5 minutes...then stir 5 times anti-clockwise." He nodded, picking his wand up again, before stirring the potion 10 times in the clockwise direction. Now he needed to let the thing simmer for 5 minutes. He sat back down again, just watching the clock. Oh wow. Time was certainly going to go slow if he just watched the clock. Changing his focus of attention, he read the instructions in his text book again, though this was like the fifth time he had. The next time he looked up at the clock it had just gone 5 minutes. "Perfect." Picking up his wand again, he stirred the potion 5 times anti-clockwise. Hmm. The potion was still the green color it had been before. He consulted the textbook again, and nodded. That was kind of right. It was a little bit too dark. But that was okay. So he thought anyway. Moving onto the next set of instructions then. |

"Really?" Her eyes widened. It took her some time to process the words. When they did, she gave a wide grin to the older girl and nearly ran towards her. YAY! She had a work partner. She could just dance! "OH thanks Laura!" said the little girl, the usual brightness now returning to her eyes. "I've been so lost with what to do..." she trailed. She moved nearer to the girl and sat down beside her. "So what are you making?" She was sure the girl would come up with something cool. She took out her ingredient packet. Now that they would do it together, she would like to see her ingredients wouldn't she? |

Nodding in satisfaction, she piled out her ingredients. "We have..." she trailed as she placed them one by one. "Knot grass...owl feather...fluxweed...nettles..." And the last one. "..caterpillars" she said with a grin. "It doesn't count, just an extra ingredient" And the same as Laura's. That didn't make much sense. Could they use ALL those ingredients in one potion? It would be a mess wouldn't it? "Should we use all these ingredients?" she voiced her doubt. Can they? It would be very unlikely to find a potion incorporating all the ingredients they had. "And..." A thought struck her. "...we can always get other necessary ingredients from the store room, right?" They had too. It wasn't certain that they could have all required ingredients. |

Laura knew if they were working together they should take it in turns doing things and so she thought it was only fair she gave Amara a chance to put the water in the cauldron." Laura then decided to add. "And if you want to set the fire under the cauldron once you've finished adding the water we can go from there." |

She smiled at the offer. "OH yes, I would loved to" She took out her wand and pointed at the cauldron. OKAY, water charm. Erm... "Aguamenti!" The cauldron filled up with water from the tip of her wand. She was awed at the sight. Magic always caught her open-mouthed. Moving on to the lighting. Now that was just easy to her. She was a master at lighting things up. "Incendio!" she said confidently, pointing her wand at the cauldron. A brilliant flame burst below the cauldron, glimmering as it did, giving an unusual brightness to the surrounding. GRIN. "Now what?" |

Laura put the gillyweed into the Cauldron and looked at it, hopefully once the knot grass was in the potion would look better than what it did at the minute, she smiled at Amara and waited for her to put the knot grass in, it was going to be funny to see what happens with this, she was sure. |

She nodded after the gillyweed was added. She picked her knotgrass and added them one by one. After the fifth, the liquid turned into a bright red lake. "What does that mean?" she asked. She now picked up her potions books from her bag and went through it. Trying to find something. Hopeless it would be, since they were experimenting. |
Post 3 SPOILER!!: Anna A thought came to Jory when Anna said that she had confidence in their potion. "So, would you drink the potion then?'' he asked with a wink. He was kidding of course, She didn't have to if she didn't want to. "Sure go ahead,'' the Puffer responded and shoved the jar of caterpillars towards her. He'd better get started on preparing the ingredients too. He had to smash the horned slug, so using the flat side of his clean knife, Jory carefully pressed on the slug. He found it a quite disgusting thing to do but it must be done. After the seventh year was done with the slug, he retrieved a mortar and pestle. "Scourgify!'' he said. Just in case it was dirty. He counted out a few scoops of nettles in the mortar and began to crush them. After they were reduced to a powder, he added the remaining scoops and crushed those as well. "You can cut the five daisies, Anna,'' Jory said. And then after that they could start brewing. "Don't worry about it. I'm used to having my sister going on and on.'' Not recently, though. He tried not to think of his sister. |

"What does that mean?" Laura giggled. "Well at least the potion doesn't stink as much." Laura waited to see what Amara would add next. |

The potion turned a dangerous red and had a heavy stench. "Ewgh!" But the smell subsided as Laura added the caterpillars with great speed. Then it turned pink. "Merlin knows..." she said, winking. "...Bah, I don't like that color" She picked her fluxweed. "So let's change it!" And she added the fluxweed to the boiling pink liquid. The liquid turned into a pale orange color and she could see something floating...something red. BLINK. |

Laura giggled as she stirred the potion 4 times clockwise, "That looks a bit better, the red was starting to go away but the potion didn't look good now, it looked like someone had thrown up. Annabeth smiled an rubbed her ribs: "my waist is still paining so much that I laughed during her class." The first year student finished cutting the caterpillars and began to cut the daisies in small pieces. She loved cutting things. She was feeling relieved that Jory wasn't bothered with her anxious chat. "So, d'you have a sister?" |
Post 1 SPOILER!!: Eliza SERIOUSLY... SERIOUSLY... Minerva's mind was shouting the words as she walked into the potions classroom. Maybe if Lafay would have given a heads up that they would need to brew the ingredients together before they went and picked them, she would have picked a little better matched ingredients. What on earth was she going to make with chocolate, peppers, acorns, and lavender.... weirdest combination EVER... As she sulked into the potion room her eyes scanned the other students and she froze for a second. Was Laura Hyde working with a first year. Oh my.. maybe it was good Minerva had come that day, because obviously Laura was sick and would soon crash to the floor if she was doing homework and helping a younger student. Glancing at the other students Minerva saw Eliza looking as confused as she was feeling, walking over to her she smiled, "Hey Eliza, think you might want a partner? Maybe putting our ingredients together will make a better potion then I can come up with just using my four." She laid her bag down and gathered her ingredients. "I have chocolate, Jalapeno Pepper, Acorns, and Lavender. What did you gather?" Please have some normal ingredients Min thought, so that maybe she could figure out what to put together. Now a knew thought came to her mind did they have to use all eight or could they maybe leave one out. |
Post 4 SPOILER!!: Anna "Nope, I wasn't,'' Jory replied with a grin. "Just teasing you.'' Oh she meant Professor Romanos. "She's not always funny but she's not always strict either,'' he went on. "But I don't think you need to worry. It wasn't really allergies that had her sneezing so much. Apparently, Professor Flamsteed, the Astronomy Professor, put something on her.'' The two Professors made him laugh. He had noticed Professor Flamsteed had done something to Professor Romanos's seat at the Feast but he wasn't sure what. "And yes, I have a sister. She's fourteen.'' Anyway, he turned his attention to their ingredients. "So, we have everything ready. The chopped caterpillars and daisies, the smashed horned slug and the crushed nettles. Time to brew!'' The Puffer set up their cauldron. "Anna, please get a cup so we can measure the water.'' In, the meanwhile, the Puffer would clean the cauldron. He pointed his wand to it. "Scourgify!'' Now it was ready. He waited on the cup from Anna so they could add the water to it. |
Post 2 First things first, he needed to heat up his cauldron. Tucker used Aguamenti to fill up the cauldron and then he lit a fire underneath it. As he waited for it to heat up, he glanced around the room and tried to peek at what the other students were making. The odor in the room was a bunch of potions mixed together and it was nearly impossible to figure out from the smell what was going on in here! So as he waited for the potion to continue boiling, he pulled out his potions book and looked up all the ingredients and tried to figure out what exactly he had to do to these ingredients before adding them, as well as how many stirs he'd need to do and all that fun stuff. |

"Hey Sonea" he when the girl sat down beside him. "Okay first things first" he said as he looked around for a second to see what the other students were doing and then turned his gaze back to the cauldron in front of them. "We first need to clean the cauldron with Scourgify" he said. "I can already do the spell with ease so i want you to clean the cauldron first" They were all learning and re-learning them in classes so no saying you can't do it Missy! "Do you want the ingredients to be chopped with a knife or just throw them in the cauldron?" he asked, letting her have a voice in this as well. |
