Despite the warm sun rays shining in through the newly dusted windows, there was a chill in the air as you make your way into the arena. Spring was arriving, but the temperatures weren't much better. The familiar purple mats from the previous lesson were lined up in rows in the middle of the arena (free of sneezing powder thank you very much), each with their own individual, and perhaps slightly off color, miniature desks next to them. Pushed against the walls were sixteen regular sized desks, each with a medium square looking object upon the top, hidden underneath a white cloth. Nooo peaking! Professor Romanos was seated on her own burgundy colored mat in the front, watching the little mechanical bird Sonya run in circles around her while waiting for the students to arrive. Which should be soon.
Alright so the red card, he conned the little creature quite well. Then he heard the professor move onto the Blue Triangle. AW MAN! She called out his favorite shape and color. Then he needed to think of a new memory......
Quick Kace you can do this! He needed to do it!
He was thinking about.....his first quidditch match? Yeah that can work! He was thinking about flying into the air and feeling it wip his hair. He felt the adrenaline rush when he scored his first goal. He felt the crowd cheer and knew he felt special. Then he saw SOOO many shapes. He saw circles and rectangles from the stands and then he thought of the BLUE TRIANGLE.
UGHHHH......
He opened his eyes and he saw the litte creature going bonkers. *sighs* He tried to, he did it the first time. He felt proud of that.
He wondered how he can get the little creature to calm down. He found it quite funny, he was chuckling. "Yes you won little guy. You conned me but i will get you back." he said pointing at him.
Tobias wasn't even ready for that, he was still bouncing and happy about Bertie being his friend.
He stopped bouncing and looked around in alarm at the BLUE TRIANGLE shout and then quickly snapped his gaze back to the legopuff who was already headbutting towards the blue triangle.
"Bertie no, you're not supposed to tap on the glass!"
Ehehehehe.
Oh wait, Tobias had a BRILLIANT idea!
REDSQUAREREDSQUAREREDSQUARE.
He thought superhard about the red square and stared at that card because it was something else in front of him AND she'd already called it so it kind of made it easier. Also Bertie had stopped headbutting and now was looking from the card to Tobias with those great big eyes.
And Tobias pretty much fell in love. IT WAS SO CUTE.
"Professor, are the legopuffs yours?"
He really was distracted now. Anything but that ue-blay iangle-tray.

Before Professor Romanos announced the next card, Cassia decided to busy her mind with something else already. Even before hearing what they were supposed to avoid. And she was going to choose something that wasn't in the cards. And obviously no colors because you think of one color and end up thinking about all the others. So, nope, no pink elephant or anything. Finally she decided that she was going to think of her owl. Yup. She hated her owl and when thinking about him she'd be too distracted to think about anything else. More like too busy thinking of how to get rid of him. Which seemed like a very hard mission to accomplish.
See she was already distracted when Romanos shouted 'blue triangle'.
It was hard but she managed to keep thinking about the owl. Her owl. Her annoying owl that bit her and scratched Cassia and disobeyed also refused to come nearer when Cassia wanted to send a letter. Or she could go on and on about all that. How can she forget how the owl attacked her and Lex. She could never! Forget that is.
Oh and what was the creature? Yeah, the lesson and the cards....NO! She wasn't going to think about the cards! She knew no cards! Back to her evil owl.
Thinking about her evil, vicious owl and not the card.
She never heard of any cards.
Okay, that was an exaggeration....a little biiit.

Legopuffs...
Well, whatever made the broom fly, right? "No. A very dear friend is letting me borrow them for this lesson. We'll be having to give them back tomorrow." Where they can once again thrive in their home environment.
Having finally found her little birdie, she scooped up the mechanical creature and held onto her. The students didn't need her distracting them, regardless of the fact that they should be...distracting themselves...from the shapes she called out. Ahem. Glancing to her watch, Medea frowned momentarily. Goodness, where did the time go?

Oh.
"Oh."
Bertie?
"Bertie..."
Tobias kind of paused for a moment and stared into the hugenormous eyes of his legopuff and let his lower lip wibble for a moment. But then he blinked and stood up a little straighter and took a breath. Bertie belonged to someone else and he probably missed the dear friend of the professor so it was okay that he was going back. It was fine. He was-
Green circle?
Wait, what? Huh? Whaaaaaaaaaaat?
Tobias just kept looking at Bertie and then the circle and then Bertie again and then he straed at the circle whilst trying not to think about the circle and then he looked at the other cards and then at Bertie again and wow-oh-wow he was gonna miss Bertie but it was okay because red square blue triangle green circle purple hexagon.
The legopuff stared at the cards with what could only be described as a bemused expression.
But Tobias didn't really think it was much of a success because all he'd really done was lose focus. But hey if there was going to be a class he was good at then it WOULD be one where they were required to be distracted.
Laura was thinking hard about the beach and others things she would not think about you know what, she was starting to get distracted her so thought about something else and didn't realise she was singing with her eyes shut. "I know a song that will get on your nerves, get on your nerves, I know a song that will get on your nerves, get, get, get on your nerves." Laura giggled as she finished.
Laura thought she was speaking in her head when the next sentence came out but in fact she was saying it out-a-loud. "Come on Professor, you'll have to do better."

So...Ella was horrible at this. She wasn't giving up just yet but she was horrible. She just needed to maybe simplify what she was thinking about, yeah? Seemed legit. This time she would think of dinosaurs.
Slow breathing and dinosaurs...dinosaurs....dinosaurs...
She liked dinosaurs, Ella did. She had ever since she was a little girl. Her Granddad had taken her to a museum once where there were HUGE dinosaur bones on display and she'd been fascinated ever since then. The blonde couldn't help but wonder what it'd be like to have one as a pet. Not that she'd have anywhere to keep one but still. Oh and it'd obviously be a plant eater...only then she wouldn't have any plant life in her back yard and her Gran would probably kill her. Gran liked plants and gardening, you see. So yeah, maybe a dinosaur pet was a no-no. Besides, that's why she'd named her dog Dino. It was like having the best of both worlds. Hey, wasn't there a song about that?
...Wait, had Professor Romanos said the next card yet?
Blink.Blink.BOUNCE!
Merlin's beard! She'd done it! The little creature was just sort of looking out of the glass quietly but it wasn't bouncing or flailing or trying to break free meaning she'd done it! BEAM!
It was another chance to prove he could do it again. He heard the professor say Green Circle! He wasn't gonna think about it...He was gonna think about....his family vacation? Yeah....Kace was smiling and thinking about it.
He was remembering about the cruise to Mexico. He remember the huge boat and his grandma complaining about the length of the trip. His grandma always picked the bad bits of the trip which was typical. Then he remember going snorkeling in the ocean and seeing the fishes and seeing how clear the water was. He was not even thinking about green circles. Plus he wasn't fond of the color green anyways. Then he remember dancing with the waiters and having fun with his family. This was the happiest memory he could relive.
Then he peaked open his eyes and then he noticed the creature wasn't bouncing around. YAY! He did it! *fist bump* . He was getting the hang of this now. He wanted the teacher to bring it on with the next question. He was confident.

That little puff thing was pretty cute, and Mo spent time staring right into the container at the thing... and having it stare right back at him. It was just a little bit psychic, right? All up in his head? So if he was going to raise his right hand, it would know and head right? The puff thingy went right.
Whoa.
And if left... puff thingy went left.
"You're a genius. We're calling you IQ, ok?" And he decided that since IQ could read HIS mind, then Mo was reading IQ's mind back. And IQ loved having a name.
He was still thinking about that fact when the professor pulled the first card. Red square. What was he supposed to think about, then? He should have considered that instead of spent all that time naming the puffy thing, because now, he kept throwing up mental images painted in red squares. Brick wall made of red square bricks. Parchment with a red square chalk drawing.
Welp. Failed effort. IQ moved over in the container and made it clear he knew exactly what Mo was thinking.
"Show off. You don't have any friends if you go around showing off how smart you are, y'know?" Mo informed the creature with a solemn face. He was ready this time. He was going to think about the pink elephant this time, even if it was sort of goofy. PINK. ELEPHANTS. In pink tutus with pink toe nails and a big pink hat... why was he thinking about Truebridge all of a sudden?
He was supposed to think about something other than blue triangles, but not about Truebridge. She was complicated, and they were supposed to keep it simple. Women were all complicated, though, and why was the puffy thing scratching at the glass by the blue triangle?
Ah. Sigh. Failed again.
Mo stepped back from the station and tried to give himself some space from slightly-psychic-but-fully-clever creatures. The professor was going to hold up a third card any second, and when she did he needed to be game-face ON. What could he think about that wouldn't soon devolve into something else? What could fill his mind completely and cover up any other thoughts?
He had a thought. Mo stepped forward again just as Romanos held up the green circle. Mo stared hard at IQ, but his mind slipped away to the falls near his house. It was a perfect and happy spot where he and West used to hang out when they were little, and Mo was as familiar with the spot as his own bedroom. The smell of it, the way the moss felt under your fingers when you sat on the rocks at the top, the way light hit the falling water and made little rainbows in the air... IQ stared up at Mo, but he didn't move.

Wow was Min bad at this.. She felt like punishing herself for being so horrible at this. Maybe no ice cream for her.. Then she shook her head, now lets not get to harsh with the punishment. That was asking so much to say no ice cream. That's when she heard that last card. Time to bring the big cards out Min. Time to really think. She glanced at the only distraction that she knew would work. Ethan... He was so cute and so sweet. She just couldn't believe they had been together for two years. She smiled as she continued to look over at him. She had gotten really lucky to be in partner in care of magical creatures fourth term. Who would have thought this would happen, but this was about to end. Not them, but being in the same class. He was done after this term and she was here for another term. Frowns, her mind started drifting to this forbidden place that she had made restricted early this term.
Her eyes fell to the table and that when she saw the cards and looked up. The creature was just siting in it's glass looking at her like she was nuts. Well her distraction worked, it always worked. He could distract her from everything. "Sorry little buddy, Ethan always wins."
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
This was getting a little easier.
It might have had something to do with the fact that she was easily distracted. Whether or not this was a good thing had yet to be proven but for now, it seemed the poor little guy was having problems keeping up. In the time it's taken the Professor to pull the next card, she'd already gone through a variety of things. Everything from ice-cream to shovels to werewolves to candy to puppies. There wasn't much she hadn't thought about.
Her eyes flickered over at the green circle. It wasn't nearly as pretty and she was getting bored of this game.
This meant more mind straying.
Her thoughts drifted back to the Christmas that just left. There were so many cookies and carols--the presents!! Merlin! Most of them were still new because she'd hardly gotten any time with them before coming back to school.
Um...question....
What were they doing again...?

She was doing great. This mind distracting thingy was a piece of cake. No legilimens was going to get her. Ehh..Let's not push it. But she really was becoming good at this! Or at least she was working correctly. And it wasn't impossible to achieve. She just needed to find something strong to focus on and she shall be okay. Though she needed to find something other than her evil owl. The fourth-year scratched her chin thinking of something else to concentrate on. Maybe she should try thinking about random stuffs. Shall give it a try.
Then Romanos announced the shape. Which Cassia was NOT going to think about.
Here we go! Umm...students. Everywhere and robes. And bags. Nice ones, that girl's one was very cute, the blond made a mental note to ask her where did she get it. Also the hair clip. So elegant and pretty. Definitely getting one like that. And desks. Wooden ones. They were always wooden. She also was earlier sitting on a mat, a purple..nuuuu! NO colors! She wasn't going to think of colors. Nope absolutely, not!
Away from the mats..umm...the Professor's mechanical bird. She was doing great. No she was doing awesome. She wasn't thinking of the green cir--- Uh-oh!
She might have ignored it but the creature wouldn't shut up nor quit bouncing. "Quit that," She hissed but it didn't. Obviously doesn't take orders from her. Or anyone.
Did it want the card? Nope. no card for you. See, Cassia found it cute at first but it was a proof of her failure. And you don't find that cute.

Oh, this was weird. Penelope had never heard of these creature things before. They could read minds? Weird. They were oddly cute in a way but also a little creepy. At least they were kinda small and stuck behind glass, yeah?
The Gryffindor got herself settled by a station and spread the cards out as instructed, glancing over them and then at the lu...le...puff...what was it called again? Lu...puff...not Hufflepuff...something...red square...
Wait, red square, what-
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Blinking confusedly, she looked back at the not-Hufflepuff-puff-thing and watched it repeatedly bump into the glass trapping it, clearly trying to get at the red square card. Oh. Oh, they'd started and she forgot about trying to remove the red square from her mind. She frowned, and the lu-puff, seemingly realizing it couldn't steal the card from her, stopped bumping into the glass and looked up at her with what looked like disappointment...and it continued to stare at her. Er...
Blue triangle...? Oh!
Don't think of the blue triangle, don't think of it, think of something else like...the red squa- no! Blue tri- no, don't!
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Well.
Penelope frowned more as she looked down at the creature now trying to get at the blue triangle card. Meh. MEH. Focus, Penelope. Focus on something that was NOT being called out. It shouldn't be that hard...
Next card, green circle - no, brick wall. Brick wall. Yes. Protecting her mind with a brick wall as she stared the not-Hufflepuff-puff down. Brick walls were nice, yeah?
The little creature had started to move over to the green circle card, but before throwing itself at the glass to steal it, it looked back up at her...and stopped, apparently deciding against it.
That's right, puff. Not breaking through this brick wall.

Ludegopuffs.. were really, really frightening, actually. Alice stared at the furry little creature at her station with wide eyes, completely freaked out at the thought of it entering her mind. They.. were really scary, actually, with their Legilimens-like powers and those CREEPY BIG EYES that seemed to be BORING into her head and her SOUL, her SOUL-
Taking a couple of steps back in quick succession, she kept her eyes saucer-wide and glued on the thing.
Okay. Ready. She was.
But she hadn't found a distraction. Looking around quickly, the first person she spotted was Lex, and Lex made her think of ice cream which made her think of how she and Lex and Mo all had ice cream together that summer, and that was how she'd met Mo and started calling him Cactus and how Vivi would always boss him around and he'd stopped letting people boss him around since then, good for him, but Vivi had gotten him red ice cream it was really, really bright and red and that reminded her of the red square but wait wait wait she wasn't supposed to be thinking of the red square because there was a REALLY CREEPY furry animal with TERRIFYING EYES that seemed to be BORING into her head and her SOUL, her SOUL, and knowing that she was thinking of the RED SQUARE-
Oops.
Furry thing was clawing and charging for that red card through the cage, and Alice took a couple more steps back, waiting for it to stop, because that thing was NUTS. And her mind was also vulnerable which was really scary to think about and and and and she wanted it OUT OF HER HEAD already Merlin.
Next card? Already? She needed a NEW distraction, and looking around again, she spotted West first, and he actually had a really nice face, did he know, it was like all symmetrical and stuff, and symmetrical faces were more visually appealing, and Alice thought his head was very visually appealing, the angle of his cheekbones and his hair and his eyebrows and his eyes which were really nice and this super startling color of blue, just like the blue triangle except like ten times prettier, but still like the blue triangle-
.. this was so hard.
The thing was clawing AGAIN, and Alice didn't think she could take anymore steps back without making the station seem like it wasn't hers, so she waited for the next shape and tried not to rip her hair out in frustration and FEAR because that thing was REALLY REALLY weird. Really. It was and.. had she called a shape? No distractions this time, she was trying to use that method Nigel or West or whoever had suggested and think about a blank piece of parchment, eyes squeezed shut in concentration. But the sheet in her head wasn't blank, it was TAINTED with a BIG GREEN CIRCLE and it was there and it couldn't be erased because it was ink and and and and-
Never mind. When she opened her eyes, the stupid scary creature was headbutting at the cage for a stupid green circle and this whole lesson was rubbish and she really needed ice cream.

Medea nodded, a smile appearing on her face. "Doesn't sound so hard, does it? Just focus and concentration." It was usually like so when reading something and then actually doing it, wasn't it? "Though, essentially, yes."
After the students had their say on the topic, Medea quickly took another check on the time. Oh, they should probably get started soon. "Concentration, intent, and thanks to Miss Dixon, we're going to add the word perseverance into the mix. These are generally the three things you will be focusing on during our activity today."
"But before I go into more detail about, does anyone have any questions?"
Dylan was just taking notes and paying very close attention. Oh yea, he wasn't missing anything Professor Romanos was saying. Nothing at all. Very interesting study...and all that. He wanted to know so much more about it, though. Too bad they couldn't do the real thing in lessons...or at the school. Probably would've broke a million rules about privacy and parents would've all gotten up in arms about it...
Ahem.
He wouldn't have told his, personally. What they didn't know....kept him out of trouble. #SmartSlytherin
...but no. Dylan didn't have any questions. None that she could legally answer, anyway...

Ugh.
Yes. He'd thought about a Pink Elephant. What a clever trick...but as she continued talking and explaining...and revealing the creature, Dylan just took MORE notes. Ludegopuffs read minds. Right...So, where could he get one of those? Not that it'd do him too much good...but it seemed totally fascinating. Probably could get a hefty sum of money for one of them, too...
Right. 16 stations.
Three cards.
Red, blue, green shapes.
He needed to harden his mind...and try NOT to think about what she'd be calling out. Would it be considered cheating if he tuned her out completely? Dylan was a pro at doing that...He'd had a ton of practice with his parents...
Ahem. Yea, he was ready.

"Remember, you don't want to think of the card called out. You want to think of something else entirely, preferably something very easy to remember. Where was that eccentric bird???
When she whipped out her wand and vanished all the white clothes covering the containers, Dylan eyed the creatures more closely. He thought they looked like those fuzzy things at the end of a girl's snow hat.....Or like mini!cousin ITs. Yea, he enjoyed the Addams Family, thank you very much.
Deciding on a station, he moseyed on over and stood in front of his own jar. Was he meant to go ahead and stretch out the cards now? Seeing others doing this, he shrugged and picked them up. He tried to space them out a bit so that it'd be clear to tell where the creature was going...if he was going. Hopefully the Captain would be able to block him from reading his thoughts.
What was something safe he could focus on, though?
......Quidditch? Their last amazing win over Claws? Graduating?

Pardon? Did someone say something to her?
Eyebrows raised, Medea glanced around, looking for any questioning or expectant looks focused towards her, but, there were none. With a couple of students talking to their creatures, it could've been anyone if someone had said something. Apparently it wasn't important enough. Walking around the room to check on the studen'ts progress, she made it halfway around before...
"BLUE TRIANGLE!" she called out and a few seconds later, "GREEN CIRCLE!"
Laura continued to think about sitting on the beach enjoying ice-cream whilst watching a few people swim and surf, she was getting bored now this was just too easy, she was pretending to yawn now. "Professor come on please, at least try." Laura giggled, as she thought about the beach and then she thought about sleep and then..... everything was quiet in her head she had somehow got so relaxed she had fallen asleep.

Ella was, y'know, reveling in her tiny success when Professor Romanos started calling out cards again. Meep! She wasn't prepared for that and her mind immediately went to blue triangles, causing the little creature to bounce around like crazy. "Merlin, buddy, you're going to knock yourself out like that." And the sixteen year old would feel terribly bad if she was the cause of something like that, just saying. She didn't think Professor Williamson would enjoy hearing about something like that. Not that he would ever hear about it. Y'know, since he was off working with dragons or whatever. Sigh. She missed him, Professor Williamson. Not because of his face or anything. Nope, not because of that. It was more because of green circles-BLINK-Green circles.

SPOILER!!: RED!
[QUOTE=Roselyn;11379407]Once everyone was settled at their stations, cards placed in front of the ludegopuff, Medea moved to stand in the middle of the room, turning around as she spoke to the class. "Alright. Remember. You don't want to think of the card that I'm going to call out. These little creatures are fast both physically and mentally, so you have to be quicker. They may not be able to dive into your mind like a legilimens, but they can read your current thought. Remember...you can think of a different object entirely, or try and think of nothing at all."
She gave them a moment to prepare before, "RED SQUARE!"
Right. Do NOT think about the card she was about to call out. Think about anything else. Think about Beezus...
While he tried to force himself to think about stuff, it seemed increasingly harder to actually just focus on Honey Bee. His mind was rebelling against him or something, seeing as all it wanted to do was anticipate and prepare. Bleh...This wasn't Quidditch, brain. Merlin...
Beezus, Beezus, Beezus...
...and then she'd said it...and he felt like a sitting duck...as he his mind automatically jumped to...
RED!.............SOMETHING RED. SHE'S SAID RED!
Epic. Fail.
The ludegopuff seemed to be taunting him behind the glass as it looked up at him...or Dylan assumed it was looking up at him. It was hard to tell, really. The hair was kinda making it's eyes...hidden and stuff.
UGH. He'd do better next time...
SPOILER!!: Blue!
[QUOTE=Roselyn;11379964]Oh, they were all doing rather well so far! Such concentrated looks. A few even seemed to have managed to keep the object from their mind, considering how still the ludegopuffs sat. Oh...what was this? Nope. Nope nope nope. "Please refrain from tapping on the glass, Miss Cambridge." These creatures didn't have all that big of a lifespan you know! Don't need to scare it to death.
Especially since she had to give all of these creatures BACK...
After another few moments, she called out the second card without warning. "BLUE TRIANGLE!"
The creatures didn't have long lifespans, hmm? Well, that was truly a shame....Not that it had anything at all to do with the here and now. Dylan wanted it to FAIL. He wanted himself to succeed, of course.
#SlytherinAmbition
The ludegopuff sat idle as they both awaited each others reactions. He was trying to think of ANYTHING else...OH! Tuning the Professor out. He could TOTALLY do that. He tried to imagine that Professor Romanos was his mother...and that she was fussing about him not eating or something. No, no...She was fussing about him being rude to his grandmother...who'd insinuated he didn't like girls.
Stupid woman was a troll.
He vaguely heard something about something Blue...
Blue! like Ravenclaw...
Blue! like Beezy Weezy...
Damn.
Dylan poked himself in the forehead. He needed his brain to either cooperate or shove off...The ludegopuff was mocking him for his weakness. He could see the judgment in his hairy face.
SPOILER!!: Green!

OKAY. There was NO WAY he was going to give in this time. It was just extremely difficult for his Quidditch brain to not want to immediately zero in and focus on something. It was like hunting the snitch. At the first sight of it, he was OFF...and usually vigorously lately. He'd gotten so much better at catching that blasted ball.
Right. Ahem.
...Back to tuning her out? More Quidditch thinking? More Beezy Weezy thinking? Which reminded him...Dylan hadn't really seen his girlfriend around in a few days. Normally he wouldn't worry about it so much...but with things....being how they were for her....Ahem. Anything could have happened...and the Slytherin would've been none the wiser.
He'd need to accost a Ravenclaw. That needed to happen...Not Elise, though. He hated that female. McCarthy was okay...but there was a chance that weird-O Puffer girl would be clinging to his arm. So, that was a 'No'...Blue? Blue would know what was going on...or Branxton. Dylan cringed at the thought of asking that boy anything, though...
Blink.
Wait...
Had he successfully thought!talked himself through the last thing Professor Romanos had called out?

Now Tobias kinda sorta knew what to do because he'd practiced it a bit and really the key in this class was to actually not pay much attention and let your brain do its thing. The more you tried to MAKE your brain forget the more it was like 'yes yes I shall forget this thing this is the thing you don't wan't me to think of and I can do that' and straight away that was a fail because you were STILL thinking about it.
And Tobias' head still hurt.
But he was ready. The Hufflepuff was a master of being distracted and rather than remembering to forget he had to not think at all... one of his finest skills.
This all felt so backwards after the focusing for all the other les-
WAIT THAT WAS A CARD SHE WAS SAYING A CARD-
Momentarily, Tobias panicked. He was running out of things to be distracted by and the puff was already edging towards that card. Squeezing his eyes shut and clenching his fists, Tobias tried hard to think about something... anything. Anything that came to him. But in his head all he could see, hear and generally thing about was a blue triangle.
And then... another one already?
Tobias' eyes snapped open and he looked around at the professor, twisting at the waist to see her. Yeah... yeah he was pretty sure she'd spoken. Not that it mattered because he was meant to distract himself from the cards she said anyway. He turned to the legopuff again which was still in front of the blue triangle, looking at Tobias curiously. Did that mean he'd done it? He'd done it! He hadn't thought about the green cir-
Bertie, however, soon informed him otherwise, as he scratched in front of that very shape. Hmph.

Blue circle! Jory had been thinking of tennis but as soon as Professor Romanos called out the new card, his brain and mind snapped to it. Instantly his legopuff began running in circles again! Gah! This was frustrating! Well, it was only his second try, but still.
........
The Puffer had his mind back on tennis. He was really determined to get this right. The legopuff. was all calm once again. All he was thinking about was whacking that ball across the court. He was aware a voice shouted out something but what was it? Jory had not heard. Wait! Had that been Professor Romanos? He had not heard the card she called! He had done it!
.........
Grinning to himself, and his mind back on tennis, Jory waited for the next card to be called when...two at once! The poor puffer got all confused as his mind turned to the two cards and the legopuff started running around once more. How disappointing.

Brick wall. Brick wall. Think about a brick wall. That was what Penelope kept telling herself. Just...a brick wall. Without getting too caught up on detail. Which was actually kinda hard. Thinking of JUST a brick wall was boring, and it would've been nice to spice it up a little and make it more interesting...but whatever...
...brick wall...
And another card was being called out again, but the Gryffindor kept her focus on her brick-
Wait, green circle again already, didn't they just-
Thump! Thump!
Oh.
Crud.
Penelope turned her attention back down to the puff trying to get at her green circle card. Merlin. She was doing so well until the rapid naming of cards happened. But she was NOT gonna let it throw her off again. Nope.

Two cards this time? Which were they meant to pay attention to--er...not pay attention to because that was how you played the game.
She was gonna go ahead and ignore the green because it was said last but also because well...blue. Blue was the most legit reason to ignore everything else wasn't it? Next to chocolate of course. She liked chocolate, it mad her incredibly and unbelievably happy.
You know what did that the mostest though?? CHOCOLATE FROGS---Oh oh oh, chocolate frogs dipped in ICE-CREAM!!! Those were to die for except she wasn't willing to die so she'd probably be the one to shove someone else off the cliff and keep the treat. That was allowed.
Treat...candy...oh but wasn't she supposed to be not thinking about something? What was it again?

Having been on the opposite side of the arena now, she didn't hear what Laura said, having been focusing more on the creatures themselves. Oh, it seemed like this last round caught a few people. Though now they knew that multiple cards could and WOULD be called out, perhaps they'd be a little bit more prepared for this last round. LAST round, because one glance to her watch said time was up.

Tennis was all Jory thought about. The freshly cut grass, just before it all got trampled. The net and the scurrying of players back and forth as they chased the ball. He really had not realised how much he missed playing the game.
The Puffer was completely of Professor Romanos as she called three cards one after the other. What he did realise was the last two- the blue triangle and red square. He thought that was the only card she had called out. After those two he there was silence. "Aw man!'' Jory thought he had failed once again, not realising he had not heard the first red square. He watched the legopuff as it scurried around. This topic was rather difficult.
