When you walk into the Charms classroom, you will find it much like the rest of the castle; dirty, dusty, shabby. You will find dust bunnies, spiderwebs, and maybe even some webs with inhabitants in them. The grimy desks are in 6 straight rows, divided into two columns, facing the front of the room. The windows are closed, but the light shines through the dirty, spotted glass.

Professor Knox is standing in front of her clean desk, watching the students file into the classroom. A closed box sits on the floor. Next to the professor is the chalkboard that says, in big, clean letters:

"Sit down and be quiet."

OOC: Class has now started! Please do not post your character arriving late, just pretend they've been in class the whole time! Please read the rules before posting. We'll know if you didn't.

Class Progression:
1. Start of class / exploding dust / first question
2. Answers / Scourgify Review / New Charm: Poliotus / Activity
3. New Charm: Vitrumonia / Activity #2

This class will end on Monday, May 27th at 6 AM GMT.

Next, Peyton decided to tackle the underneath part of the desk. Even years back Peyton was sure no one payed attention to the under part of the desk. Not unless you needed a place to stick your gum on. And even then it was most likely still forgotten.

Getting under the desk Peyton sat with her legs crossed. Her height was no problem and her head didn't even touch the desk. SIGH. She needed a growth spurt. Pronto. It didn't matter now, though. She looked up and wrinkled her nose as the different colored gums stuck on the wood. Ewww. Some looked like they were really ancient. She'd need to get rid of the those first.

Twirling her wand once in her fingers, she pointed it at a piece of gum. "Deletrius!" she said, and watched it disintegrate.

OOOH! That was fun.

"Deletrius!" Take that! "Deletrius!" And THAT. Peyton got rid of the gums under the desk. She didn't dare touch the wood, though. It still looked filthy. "Scourgify!" There. It was clean and hopefully it'd stay like that until the elves returned.

They would return, right?

Now if all this work had been for nothing, Elise would be pretty mad indeed. She'd probably just pull a Nessie and screech like a banshee if the classroom was this dirty the next time she entered. So making her way to the back of the classroom, she tapped all the tables in that row.

"Impervious," she muttered with each tap. "Impervious, impervious, impervious." Yes, now all the tables would be impervious to dust and liquid and whatever else would decide to fall on them. Preventive measures were great, anyway. What did those muggles say, again? Prevention is better than cure?

She was no doctor, but that could apply that principle

She turned to her chair. There were cobwebs dangling from underneath it. O___O

Well. She hoped there were no spiders under there. Not because she feared them - please, she pranks her sisters with spiders - but because she wouldn't want to accidentally main or seriously injure one.

Tipping the chair to the side - to get a better look at it - Peyton pointed her wand at it. "Tergeo!" Silently the cobwebs were being pulled off and vacuumed away. When she was done, Peyton put the chair back in it's original position.

Now anyone else who sat on this chair didn't need to fear spiders. While they stood away, anyway.

Alright...So, two spells down. Dylan understood that the assignment had been to just clean in general...but he was trying to cover all the spells that had been mentioned. He was a perfectionist and overachiever like that. It couldn't be helped.

Next up on the list? Vitrumonia...

This one was for cleaning windows and glass in general...So, abandoning the desks for a moment, he approached a set of really grimy ones. They were so caked with dust and some green stuff that light wasn't even peeking through. It legit made his skin crawl. Dylan just couldn't with messes. Just could NOT.

SPOILER!!: Beezus

...but then someone was speaking to him...and he turned to give looks. LUCKILY, it had been his girlfriend...which was okay. Beezy Weezy could speak to him whenever she wanted...In response to the winks, she recieved a rather saucy one right back....She seemed so out of place among the mess...

"Looking good in general, Castell." Smirk.

...BUT he had to continue cleaning. HAD to.

Vowing to speak with her more after the lesson, he continued on with the windows, getting the incantation down in his head. Five syllables...vee-truh-MOH-nee-uh...It was just a wave, right. A wand-wave right over the glass meaning to be cleaned...Okay, he was ready to try it...

"Vitrumonia."

It took a few seconds...but the window seemed to finally peek through from behind its curtain of murk. Hello, sunlight. Nice of YOU to join us...

Keeping up the momentum with the spell, he moved onto the next window, repeating the movement and incantation, getting it right a second time...and then a third...AND THEN a fourth.......Dylan quickly decided he liked this charm...

Most of the windows looked done now, though...So, it was time to move onto more polishing maybe...

Looking at the window above the cute little dragon, Mack realized that she couldn't see out of it, "Yuck!" Seriously, how exactly did the castle get this nasty in the short time they were away from the school?!? Oh well The had to get it cleaned somehow. Waving her wand in a downward motion she spoke "Vitrumonia" and a streak of the glass was now clean, continuing until the window was clean she grinned as she could see onto the lawn of the castle, even though it was sunny, she knew that it was really cold outside.

So now that she had the desks all clean, it was time to polish them, yeah? Make them look really good like they were supposed to look.

"Poliotus," she said pointing her wand at one desk.

...

But nothing happened?

Penelope glared at the desk and then her wand. What in Merlin's name? Why didn't it work? She just pointed her wand and...oh. Oh wait. The wand movement was that S thing, wasn't it? Right? Yeah, she was pretty sure. Whoops.

"Poliotus," she said, moving her wand in the shape of an S above the top of the desk. And...yes! It was all polished and nice now! Exactly as she wanted.

She moved on to the second desk and did the same, and the third, and the fourth, until all were nice and shiny and polished and just as they were supposed to be. Good. Thank Merlin these spells were working.

So... the window was clean. Yeah. Now he could move onto the window sill yeah?

And this one probably didn't need the Vitrumonia spell, yeah? So he could use Scourgify and Poliotus on this one? Awesome. Saying Vitrumonia so much was getting a little tiresome to the boy. And he really wanted to perfect the other two spells too! OWL reasons and all.

Could they give them a classroom to clean up in the OWLs?

Shrug. Too early to be thinking about that, yeah? Alec shook his head and looked at the window sill. After all the cleaning he had done in the past two and a bit months, he had learnt that most of the dirt and dust seemed to collect in corners. Corners first. And this wasn't the exception in the case of this window sill place.

So... Scourgify first? And then Poliotus? Clean first and then polish it? Yeah? AWESOME. "Scourgify!" he said, pointing his wand at the window sill. This wasn't a particularly difficult spell and it wasn't hard to muster up the confidence when it came to this spell. And... well... look at the window sill! Look at how clean it was getting! GRIN.

... Now time for polishing, yeah? Poh-lee-OH-tuss... poh-lee-oh-tuss... "Poliotus!" he said, drawing an S shape over the window sill area. He blinked and stood there, hoping against hope that the sill would turn shiny and smooth and that the grime and dust would just... vanish. Go away. Forever.

... Wait... wait...

Right when the sixteen year old was about to open his mouth to cast the spell again, the grime and dust seemed to disappear, leaving the sill looking smooth. There. Now the window was all done and looking as good as new. He grinned at it before turning away to look around the class. ... Should he... move on to something else?

A row of unused desks sat to one side of the class room, unsure of why no one had bothered with them Mackenzie looked around and realized that the rest of the room was spotless, all except theses few desks. Pointing her wand she repeated herself once more "Scourgify" she waved her wand over the desks and the dust was gone. Smiling to herself she decided she wanted them to shine repeating the same incantation she had done for her own desk and waving her wand in an "s" pattern "Poliotus" There, all done. she smiled and sat back in her own seat awaiting further instructions from the professor.

Time to go, go, go. Because he wanted to get this done with as soon as possible so he didn't have to work with the wand anymore. All the magic stuff was not his strongest suit, not that he was, um, bad. Pfft. Not at all, he was awesome. Duh. Look at this face. Smirk.

Anyway, he wanted to just, yeah, finish this up.

So he drew his wand again and looked around at what everyone else was doing in the room. Stare, stare. Yeah, he could do that, right? Whatever it was that they were doing because he was a wizard too, he just didn't understand it all as much. Then again, they didn't know much about anything else so. SMIRK.

Taking his lead from someone else, he pointed his wand at the desk and said, "Poliotus." But nothing happened so that was annoying. Maybe he could try again? But right before he did, he saw someone do the Superman symbol over the desk. RIGHT WAND MOTION. So he made the same symbol nad said, "Poliotus."

Bam. All nice and shiny.

So she'd practiced all the spells but there were still a few things in the classroom that desperately needed polishing. Like that bookshelf at the back. The books all had a thin coating of dust and the wood of the shelf was dull and just plain boring.

Yuck.

Wand pointed at the books, she sighed. It was a sad thing for a Ravenclaw to see books being treated the way they were in this classroom. Very sad indeed. "Tergeo," she muttered, making sure that all that dust was siphoned off and disappeared before performing another cleaning charm on it. "Scourgify."

Now, for the wood. "Poliotus," she said quietly, tracing the 'S' shape along the places she wanted to polish. She would have cast it again, because it was taking far too long to work when a nice thick layer of dust and grime simply peeled itself off. Perfection.

Moving towards a corner of the classroom, Dylan kept his wand held up. He'd done a bit of each of the required spells...and was going to work through these optional ones now...It was too bad Evanesco hadn't been on the list. That would've been rather handy at the moment...

Also, it was considered Transfiguration...and this was Charms class.

...Spying something...wet? on the floor in the corner, the Slytherin lowered his wand to it and said "Tergeo!" Really, he didn't want to investigate and KNOW what it was...All he wanted to do was clear it ago. Just....ew......And MERLIN, it seemed to carry and odor, as well. What....WAS that?

Had someone....peed in the corner?

Like.....legit?!

Feeling as if he might vomit, Dylan stood quickly, apologizing to some of his peers that he may or may not have bumped into. Smells, man. The Slytherin was so sensitive to them...

Shaking his head some, he spied ANOTHER patch of something wet and cautiously moved forward. This didn't seem to smell, though...and he was okay with that...as long as there was no...odor. Yea.

"Tergeo!" He watched as the wetness slurped up into his wand tip...

Her desk looked clean enough now, but Alice supposed she wasn't ready to move on to polishing just yet. The table and legs were spotless, but the chair wasn't, so she turned to that next, pointing her wand again. She hadn't even noticed how dirty it was until now. Had she been sitting on that? Maybe after this, she could scour herself, too. Or maybe from now on, she could just Impervius herself before going anywhere in the school. Excellent way to keep from getting dirty, yeah? But her thoughts were wondering, and she was supposed to be scouring now.

"Scourgify."

Cleaaan.

She could sit again!

Now he had to move on and make the windows all nice and shiny. Or you know, at least try because THAT stuff was just a lost cause. The window was just sad and if he were at home he would be cleaning the old fashioned way. Or, yeah, the RIGHT way. All of this magic just kept them fro actually working hard. Laziness 'twas what it was.

Anyway, he continued to practice the laziness for class reasons and looked around the room for the next cue. How were they all making that happen? What was the spell that they were using now? It sounded something like Widmung. No, wait it started with a v. HAH. Vitrumonia.

Done and done. He had this down pat.

So he drew his wand, pointed it at the window and said it clearly, "Vitrumonia." And just like before nothing happened. JEEZ. Come on. He was almost SORT of trying. That had to count for SOMETHING no? Pfft.

He raised his wand and said again, "Vitrumonia!" And just like magic, heh see what he did there, it worked. Psh. He was kind of incredible in EVERY way. Wink.

So she had a window and four desks all nice and clean. What should she clean next? Hmm...she looked around...and then looked down at the floor. Huh. That looked...really dirty. Especially right around the desks and...yeah. Dirty. Gross. Ew. That needed to be fixed.

Penelope sorta knelt down without letting her knees touch the floor, simply trying to keep her balance on her feet. She let her left hand hold the top of the desk nearest her to help. Her right hand held her wand which was aimed at the ground.

"Scourgify." And that part was clean. She pointed at another. "Scourgify." Clean. Another. "Scourgify." Clean. She repeated this process until all the area around her that she could reach was clean, then she sorta tip-toed/waddled forward a few paces and started again, pointed her wand all around her until it was all clean. This whole process continued until the area all around those four desks was nice and clean.

Huzzah.

Merlin...

Feeling slightly traumatized by the pee smell, Dylan toddled off to take care of other things. Yes. That corner was now officially shunned. He'd never set foot over there again. NEVER. Veto'd. Boycott'd. ALL THE THINGS.

Naturally...the Slytherin's next course of action was to go to another corner. Yep. Hopefully the other was JEALOUS...but he found a very different problem in this NEW corner. Bugs. More specifically....slugs? Dylan blinked down at the slowly crawling...things.

How had SLUGS gotten into the classroom? It was a rather strange sight to behold there...or all places. In fact, he'd almost removed a jar from his pocket and collected them...before stopping himself. What was he thinking? Professor Knox looked like the thing that might....make them explode in his pockets or something...

She was STILL hot, though. That fact had not changed. Dylan liked crazy.

"Deletrius!" EPIC POINTING. The few slugs that had been making their way up the wall...trails of slime in their wakes...vanished...like smoky little slug-shaped clouds. He'd need to ask the Professor about collecting samples in the future for personal use...

Oh? And those spiders that were trying to scuttle away? "Deletrius!" POINT!!

All the bugs needed to go...Yes.

He felt wholly accomplished after that last bit, you know, because he was awesome and stuff. It meant that he was done cleaning and the whole nine yards. Clean desk and window was more then enough, right? Unless someone wanted to get him a rag and some cleaners do to some more stuff. Ascanius was decent little cleaner, ask Mr. Hughes. He was always put on cleaning duty anyway, especially the garage. Grumble, grumble.

And then he saw people sucking stuff up through their wands. Woah there. That was not normal. How did that even-

Oh right, magic. Well then. La de da da da. Them being all fancy. Pfft.

But he supposed he had to do that to, yeah? Ugh, irksome students pointing out what he had failed to do. Whatever.

So he scanned the room for something to suck up. And he saw... strings... or he hoped they were strings. Either that or snot. C'mon people, really? "Tergeo." And look at that. Right off of the bat it worked this time.

Way to go, Stark. Not that he wasn't expecting it. 'Cause he was awesome and stuff.

With those bugs exterminated....Dylan floundered around for other things to do. Some people had went ahead and sat down...but he really didn't want to be that guy. So, instead...he continued to stalk about the classroom, feeling almost like a dirt and grime ninja.

Spying ANOTHER desk, the Captain moved forward, eyeing it's unpolished surface with disdain. No one would want to sit at a desk like this. He most certainly would not...and did he really want to subject his peers and classmates to something similar? Even those Puffers...Dylan wouldn't have wished that on them.

Raising his wand like it was a deadly sword, he attacked the dust first with a pointed "Scourgify!" It was imperative to get the dust first, right....and then..."Poliotus!", with it's snaky motion. With that desk now gleaming like his pervious had, the Captain felt a sense of accomplishment. He was beast-moding these spells.

Oh? Another desk that was dirty and filthy? "Scourgify!"......."Poliotus!"

Really....this room didn't stand a CHANCE...

The people in this room were going insane. It was like they had never been in dirt before. C'mon folks, really? They wouldn't have lasted a day in the home. He spent his whole summers covered in grime and stuff from the garage. Suck it up. You know? It was just dirt. Girly!men. The girls could panic all they liked though, 'cause it was adorable. Smirk. Carry on ladies.

But he was NOT gonna be the only guy who sat down and was done with stuff. So he was just going to be that guy to be repetitive OVER and OVER again until the fit Professor told him he was good to go. So could they finish this up soon, yeah?

He drew his wand out and continued to point them at different desks, "Scourgify." The desk suddenly cleaned off. It was a nifty little spell. See? Clean and clean and clean. Look at these desks and how nice they looked. Yep, he had done that for them.

Psh. Could he be DONE now? He was bored and antsy. Extremely antsy.

Okay, Elise was just plain tired. All the cleaning and people rushing around her, it just made her head spin. So she decided that taking a seat would definitely be better than fainting. As she drummed her fingers on her desk, trying to figure out what else to clean, it hit her.

Under her desk.

Ducking under it and being just short enough not to have her head touch the top, she heaved a sigh of relief. Her hair didn't get stuck in the few wads of gum that had been stuck under the desk. Did the people of Hogwarts really have to sense of hygiene? Seriously?

"Deletrius," she muttered, banishing all those disgusting wads of gum. Hygiene, people. It deserved a good place in society.

GUH. Desk's bottom all cleaned out, Elise promptly flopped into her seat and just waited for the class to end. It couldn't really come all that soon and she wanted some food. Lunch time.

As the Slytherin Captain searched for more things to do, he spied his Chaser spell-protecting books and decided that was a rather brilliant idea. Odessa had a lot of brilliant ideas, though...Would he have minded some help, maybe?

Stepping on over, Dylan started on a different row, pulling the first book out and tapping it with his wand. "Impervius!" It just so happened to be another one of those spells that he felt really confident and good about. The Captain had Impervius'd his Quidditch googles loads of times...His robes, too. It was common sense that wet robes would weigh one down. So, he'd taken to casting the charm on the entire team before rainy matches.

As Odessa finished his up and took a seat, Dylan carried on with the work, pulling one book out after the other, tapping and casting on each one. It was good stuff to keep his hands busy and mind free to wonder. He enjoyed activities like that...Gave him chances to plan things and organize...

Christmas was coming up soon, he offhandedly remembered. He needed to start thinking about Bee's present....

Finishing up with that quickly, he moved to the next row, "Impervius!" leaving his mouth every minute or so...

She sat down, too, now.

Because her seat wasn't dirty any longer.

So she could sit.

Since she was finished with the real cleaning, Alice went back to tracing the letter 'S' with her wand, this time over the grainy wood of her desk again. The polish almost seemed to have been done away with after her first try not too long ago, after she'd scourgified the table so many times. Poh-lee-OH-tuss, wasn't it? "Poliotus!" She watched closely as the table began to shine some more, and she mentally thanked whoever had invented the charm for making a movement that didn't require more line-y-ness.

Line-y-ness was so difficult. 'S' shapes, she could do.

Ascanius was one hundred percent done with all of this, yeah? He wanted to get out of here and do something else. Sure, he liked repetitive stuff for reasons, but not stuff that bored him and he was bored. ~~Also he wasn't so good at the whole magic thing and he did not want to stick around and do something he was rubbish at, pfft.~~

So he took out his wand and continued to do more of the cleaning and stuff. More of the scourgify spell mostly because, ahem, it was the easiest. And he could do it without having to think much. Yeah? Understood.

He couldn't help but tap on his leg as he continued to use the spell on all of the desks, "Scourgify. Scourgify." No wait, that was not a desk. Well, whatever that thing was it was clean now. Oh wait, it was a guy. Eh, whatever. He needed cleaning anyway. 'Course no amount of cleaning could fix his face. Unfortunately that guy was just going to have to deal with that.

And then he went back to the windows and did another one 'cause he could. Leggo. "Vitrumonia." But when it didn't work Ascanius felt awkward. Well fine then, don't work. Not like he cared. ~~WORK NOW.~~

BLEH. The chair did totally needed some polishing. It was clean, but you know that it needed that new look thing and a wee bit (a lot, actually) of shininess. Since she already had used the Scouring Charm on the chair early, she only needed to use the Poliotus Charm they learnt. S wand movement, right? Yeah of course. Kat just wanted to make sure she didn't get it wrong so that nothing in this place got messed up. She was being extra careful about her actions because of the professor, yeah. Her.

Professor Knox was sassy, by the way.

"Poliotus!" Kat said and drew an 'S' on the surface of the chair. Seeing the difference from before she did the spell, Kat was pretty pleased. It was polished now. AND SHIIIINY too. Better than before, so polish was sort of important. Kat ran a fingertip on the chair. Told ya, it was clean.

I clean like the storm. WHOOOOSH!

She was very excited about the fact that she could use spells to clean up..everything! She was just pointing her wand at random dirty things, everything in the room that is, and casting the spells.

That one, yep the dirty store desk beside the door. YEP. YOU.

"Scourgify!" And now she'd mastered that spell. It was so good to know something with which the girl had been treated several times before. WHEE FEELING. GRIN. GRIN.

"Poliotus!" And the cleaned desk polished itself....NO, WAIT. Half-polished itself. So, who's going to do the other half?

"Poliotus!" Come on, bench buddy, come on. Come on. "POLIOTUS!"

Ah, that's a good boy. Nice and polish-y.

Seeing that they had a bit more time left when he finished with the books, Dylan carried himself over to a nearby wall and figured....WHY NOT polish it? It was a wall, after all. Just sat here....bothering nobody and just begging to be cleaned. So, who was he to deny it the feeling of being squeaking clean?

Professor Knox had mentioned the Poliotus charm for stuff like this, yea? Because he'd just be polishing it...

Surveying the dirt and grime, the Slytherin waved his wand over the stretch of wall and cast "Scourgify!" With the dust disappearing into his wand...next came a fabulous "Poliotus!" It was fabulous...because he done it with a flourished 'S'. All fancy-smancy like.

The thing was...he had to keep recasting the spell...It was a large wall! Lots of ground......Er....stone to cover, ya know? So, Dylan was working his arm like a mad man, fancy 'S's happening as he kept saying the spell. "Poliotus!"

A Poliotus! here...A Poliotus! there....EVERYWHERE A POLIOTUS!
