Love? Merlin. Isaac was more serious than Ed could ever have guessed. He eyed Amelia as she basically said Isaac should have made himself unhappy to keep her happy. He was all for keeping people happy, but when it made YOU unhappy, that's when to stop. His heart fell FOR his friend at Amelia's response.

Still poker facing, Ed's eyes connected with Amelia's. "He did try to get away. I jumped in and dragged her off him and... yeah. I punched him too." He half shrugged, hoping this would make her feel better in a tiny way. He didn't know what to say at all! This was... still REALLY awkward. And he could see Isaac was nearly in tears.

"Yes, I kissed her back but merlin...Amelia if I meant te do it I would haf said it meant somethin'. I'm not goin' te lie te ye te make ye feel better." Now he was irritated! She wanted him to lie to her??? He wouldn't do that! "Fourteen yes! Ye honestly think I would dump ye te go out with her? She's like a sister! I've never looked at her like thet!" How could she think that? "I've not broken me promise, and I won't. I love ye like I've never loved anyone else."

"No? Guys don't love their girlfriends when they make a mistake?" He asked shaking his head his eyes were now flashing in frustration. The tears had taken it to a whole new level for him. "Ye want te know how much I love ye? HUH?" he asked with his voice lifting just a hair with the last word.

"Ye want te know? Well here it is. I got ye a ring. Yer present fer Christmas was supposed te be the one question thet I've wanted te ask fer months." he said his eyes stinging more then they had in years. Shaking his head he bit back the lump that had grown in his throat "I didn' ever mean te hurt ye. Ever." he said quietly before turning on his heel and running down the path to the grounds.

"I..." Amelia trailed off, not quite sure how to deal with Isaac when he was angry at her. She was meant to be angry at him, not the other way around. Her heart was the one that was breaking, even as she tried desperately to tell herself that everything would be okay.

Maybe she shouldn't have said they'd never be okay. Maybe that sounded too final, but it wasn't. If he tried... If he tried she would too. Because he was the only person she'd thought about for years and she knew, if she was being honest with herself, that he did love her. That her accusing him of not doing so was her lashing out but she was scared and hurt and she didn't know how else to react.

She collapsed to the ground when he asked if she wanted to know how much he loved her, sensing that maybe, just maybe, she'd finally pushed too far. Questioned something he wouldn't forgive her for doubting.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, flinching as he raised his voice at her. "I know, I know Isaac, I love you too," she tried to assure him, stopping when he simply continued on, her heart breaking even more when he told her that he'd bought a ring. A ring. He really had meant to commit to them, and she'd wanted his ring. Wanted to wear it proudly for a long time, since she'd been able to admit that this, what they had, wasn't just a crush, but actual love. Which is why it hurt so bad. Because she did love him, she may not trust him, even though it was a mistake, Ed had confirmed it and he had no reason to lie to her even though Isaac was his best friend, it might be made again. But the very fact that she'd wanted him to hold her was enough to tell her that she could trust him again, that she could forgive him.

Given a chance. But as Isaac ran off she doubted that she would be...

Curling up into a ball Amelia began sobbing in earnest. She had no idea what to do. Should she go after Isaac? Probably. But a small voice was whispering that she shouldn't have too. That she hadn't done anything wrong. She hadn't kissed anyone else, not even as a mistake. But, she doubted him. She blamed him, which was right, but she didn't have to accuse him of not loving her. She didn't have to tell him she didn't care how he felt, and that he should have kept his mouth shut so that she could be happy. She couldn't help that she felt that way, although she did care slightly about how Isaac felt about it. She wouldn't want him to be eaten by guilt.

Slowly she uncurled herself, looking up at Ed. "Did you see which way he went?" she asked quietly. "I...I can't let him think I meant we were done," she said softly, hoping that if he knew that she wasn't going to yell anymore, or break up with Isaac that Ed would tell her where Isaac had gone.

Like a sister? Merlin, Sutton was like a sister to him and he'd NEVER kiss her. All Ed could do was stare at Isaac for what felt like the millionth time. He felt bad for Isaac having to deal with this, but it seemed Amelia needed him even more right now. As she fell to the floor, Ed moved to her side and put an arm around her, all awkwardness forgotten. The girl was an emotional wreck! And so was Isaac! AIE! WHATDIDHEDO?

His jaw dropped when Isaac mentioned a ring and his eyes turned back to Amelia instantly. She looked devastated. He glanced after Isaac who'd run off, wishing he could split himself into three to comfort them all at the same time. But right now, his priorities had him staying with Amelia who was sobbing. Still sitting on his knees, he stayed silent and put a hand on her back gently, hoping that this would make her realise she wasn't alone in this.

As she finally stopped, he gazed down at her and nodded. But did he dare let her go after Isaac when they were both so emotionally raw right now? Deciding he couldn't play lord and master of all with their relationship and that it should work out how THEY wanted it to work out, he pointed in the direction Isaac had gone. "Good luck." He spoke quietly, wondering if he should go with her or go and find Sutton. She was only a tiny thing and being out in this cold without a coat would surely make her ill. He raised his head to scan the grounds, worry showing clearly on his face.

Amelia buried her head in Ed's chest, taking advantage of the comfort he was offering her. It was a relief to know that even though he was Isaac's friend his immediate reaction wasn't to follow after Isaac. Although, she wouldn't blame him if that was his reaction. But it was nice that it wasn't.

"Thank-you," she murmured, giving Ed a wan smile and a hug. She could tell he'd been slightly unsure if he should point out the right direction, but he'd done so all the same. She was sure that he truly was a great friend.

Pushing herself up onto her feet she brushed the snow off her coat and went to walk in the direction that Ed had pointed out. However, she stopped briefly and turned to look back at him. "The girl, Sutton, who kissed Isaac, did she know that he has a girlfriend?" Amelia asked, her tone betraying only her curiosity, and not her inner turmoil. She'd broken down once today and Ed had held her through it, but she didn't like to let others know her weaknesses or her thoughts. Not even those she could consider allies or friends. Only Isaac ever really saw that side of her.

Gosh, it'd been a while since he'd held someone like this. Thankfully. These situations always seemed to get more and more awkward until all involved ended up either sobbing or exceptionally happy. For once, he was going to dismiss himself from the action early to go and find the one person who had no one looking after her.

He looked down at Amelia with a smile. "Anytime." He was just trying to do right by everyone and it seemed he'd done well this time. Standing too, he paused to let her get a little head start, but his poker face slid back as she asked a question he really didn't want to answer. His eyes focused on the Slytherin for a moment before he looked down and murmured. "I think so." He'd already called her on that, so hopefully Amelia would leave Sutton alone. "I warned them to stay away from each other." He added helpfully before grimacing at her apologetically and walking past her to go and search for Sutton.

Amelia looked away from Ed as her eyes flashed with anger. She hadn't minded when she thought the girl didn't know Isaac was spoken for, but she'd kissed him knowing he had a girlfriend. Who did that? But she was fourteen, Amelia reminded herself. At fourteen she probably hadn't been thinking of anything like that when she kissed him. She'd probably just done it.

"She looked upset before, or at least I'm assuming that she was the girl that ran away crying earlier. She wasn't wearing a coat, so she'll probably freeze..." cursing herself inwardly she took off her own outer coat and threw it towards Ed. She didn't know why she felt the need to do something for the other girl when she'd never met her and had no reason to be kind.

"Give her the coat, and I'm sure you'll make sure she's okay, you're quite good at that. But...make sure that she knows she should avoid me at all costs as well, though I'm sure she doesn't even know what I look like..." Amelia finished, once again moving down the path Isaac had taken.

He paused and turned to her as she spoke. She sounded bitter, and to be perfectly honest, he couldn't blame her. He'd be pretty upset if this was reversed. He caught the coat as a reflex and stared at Amelia in amazement. She'd just given her coat to him so he could go and comfort the girl who'd caused all her pain? That took... kindness. And from a Slytherin too. "Will do. Thanks." He replied quietly, watching her leave to chase after Isaac.

Merlin, what had just happened?! Isaac had basically proposed to her, Sutton had completely destroyed any friendship that she had with Isaac and Ed had just been along for the ride to pick up those who fell; both literally and metaphorically. Shaking his head to rid himself of the dazed feeling that had creeped up on him, he blew out a breath which raised before his very eyes as a mist. He had to find Sutton, and fast. Still holding Amelia's coat, he ran off in the same direction Sutton had fled.

With a flask of hot chocolate in one hand and a hand dug into his pocket, Alec walked along the corridor and entered the courtyard. His eyes, which were more grey than blue today, wandered over towards the Wishing Fountain in the middle of the courtyard. It... looked nice, really. Yeah.

A light breeze played around the area, making Alec hunch up his shoulders and walk over towards an empty bench. After dusting the bench of snow, the boy sat down, letting his feet kick up the snow. Snow! He was more of a summer person, really, because of the amount of ice cream you can have in the summer but... well... SNOW!

GRIN.

Pity it was all really cold, though. It meant that he couldn't really have ice cream a lot otherwise he'd get a cold again. Alec looked back up at the Fountain and smiled. Maybe, afterwards, he'd go there and make a wish. Yeah... maybe.

Belle was going into the courtyard, she wanted to view the snow for once. It looked so pretty in the common room plus she wanted some fresh air. As Belle was walking through the snow..CRUNCH...CRUNCH....CRUNCH...

She spotted Alec sitting there. Belle decided to go say hello. As Belle approached him she said, "Hi Alec! You enjoying the snow?" she asked as she saw him kicking the snow.

Alec grinned as he kicked up some more snow. It was nice, really, just to sit here and not do anything in particular. You know, apart from kicking up some snow. But it was fun sometimes! Not as fun as having a snowball fight but... still fun! LOTS of fun! GRIN.

The Hufflepuff looked up and around, as if expecting his fellow snowball fighters to appear out of the blue. Because... they held one during their second year, right? Right. And it was awesome! That was how he met Blue and Theo! And meeting new people was awesome! GRIN.

And... and... wasn't that Belle? Alec grinned at the Prefect as she walked over towards him. She was an awesome Prefect, Belle was. She dressed up in a costume once for Muggle Studies! Plus, she was super nice and cool. Definitely. "Hey Belle!" he said, sliding along the bench to make room for the older girl, "Yeah! It's really cold but... it's pretty awesome! How are you?"

Damon walked into the courtroom with a small sigh. He still missed Ariana more than anything. Mainly just because he hadn't even talked to her. Yes, he missed dating her as well, holding her hand, singing to her, helping her learn how to swim even... but none more than just having someone he felt he could talk to.

Also someone who'd helped him get over Taylor, sure in ways unexpected. But had Ari not been there to help him he'd still be fighting tooth and nail for a girl he didn't really belong with. She'd helped him realize that, and she'd been a shoulder to cry on. Someone who would just listen, who he could trust everything with.

And he'd believed it was the same vice versa. He'd thought they'd both been happy together, but apparently he was just 'too perfect' to really love for her, which really sucked for him because now here he was with a new broken heart from a different girl from Taylor and now everyone's pushing for him to forget her... thing is he couldn't.... The idea of just forgetting Ariana Quinn Logan to him was mortifying, even moreso then it had been when he tried to forget Taylor.

So now, here he was, just walking around the courtyard. With nothing better to do he stood in the center of the large area and started playing, one of the only songs he could think of that really explained how he felt at the moment with all the news he was getting from others on his love dating complete idiots or jerks, give or take, either word would work from what he'd heard.

Ariana walked out into the courtyard there was a light snow on the ground.. and honestly she was getting tired of looking at the castle walls. So she wandered outside. So Much on her mind lately and she was finding it hard to balance everything she had on her plate with Classes & Quidditch and ugh stupid boyyss. she just wanted all of it too go awayyyy.. mainly the boys.. she didnt mind the classes & quidditch was fun. Wraping her Jacket Around her and buttoning it up she didnt notice Damon or even hear him playing. since he was on the other side of the courtyard

Damon sighed as he finished, and as usual gave a mournful smile, which shouldn't be that shocking. The guys life sucked, it was only a few days after his mothers death date, he had a broken heart, his best friend was pushing him into meeting new people, and his cousin wanted nothing to do with him.

Yeah, it probably couldn't get any worse than it already was, which was why he planned on leaving at the end of the year.

Damon sighed and looked up, seeing Ariana he sighed again, Guess it can get worse... Against his better judgement he started over towards her. Just to say hello and to know she didn't hate him, like she had when they first met, would be a huge relief to him.

"Hey..." It came out rather quietly, but seeing how he was fairly close to her she should've heard the barely audible hello.

Looking down and messing with the bit of snow on the ground with her shoes she sighed... didn't she have practice tonight !? ehh oh well she'll just tell Dylan she didnt feel well. cause he'd totally buy that, no? she looked up and scanned the courtyard quickly and saw..

and her first instinct was to kick off those heels and run inside and rush her little self to practice.. anywhere but here really. and did he say something..

"oh, what?" she said shaking her head as if she couldnt hear him over a slight gust of wind that had just blew past them

Damon sighed seeing a slight look on worry when she saw him. Great... so she does really hate me again... He wanted to leave right then and there, but he knew better considering that would make him seem like a complete idiot for being the first one to say something.

"I just said hey..." He said slightly louder, but not much. Damon was truly trying to not let that idiotic heartbreak show. Not that it mattered if he made a fool of himself, he'd be leaving soon enough anyways... Unless of course Ariana told him to stay. That would be all three of his friends... Who were all very strangely his exes... Huh, go figure Damon would be the one to be forgivable in all situations.

"Oh Hey" she said back to him with a slight finger wave.. No wait that was Flirty.. Stop it Ariana! She quickly put her hand down and back into the pocket of her jacket.. Cough she covered her mouth quickly as she coughed.. No No NO she could NOT be getting sick.. she had a big game coming up and did not need this. She looked up at Damon "How're you?" she asked him as she shivered a bit.. stupid coat.. WORK

"I'm..." Damon sighed and paused seeing she was cold. He quickly took off his jacket and laid it on her shoulders. She should remember that he doesn't get cold, at all... After all, he'd lived outdoors in France in the dead of winter. Cold never got to him anymore, he just wore the overcoats and everything so he wouldn't seem as weird, after he gave her a small look that let her know that it was okay to take the jacket he restarted, "I've honestly had better days... Yourself?"

she gave him a smile as he began talking before he began taking off his jacket. Mehhh. way to make me feel better about this whole "boy situation" damon though she knew him better and just let him put it on her. She gave him a smile as she untucked her hair from behind her now chilly ears and let it fall over her ears.. ahh better already. "same really." cause the past 2-3 weeks have honestly stinked for her and she didnt want to remember them no no no.
ahe wondered if he knew about richard.. and other things but decided not to bring it up. if he knew and wanted to talk about it.. he'd bring it up, yeah?

Damon sighed, no time like the present to tell her right? "I'm leaving Hogwarts..." He looked down at her then away, not really sure what else to say with that. He hadn't had the chance to tell her, but she deserved to know, if someone hadn't told her already, "The end of the year... I'm transfering to Durmstrang." He would not say the reason for that. It wasn't fully Ariana, and it wasn't fully Taylor... Damon just felt like he needed to get away from Hogwarts and switching schools seemed the way to do it. He knew from Min and Max that she'd been dating others, but he didn't exactly want to talk about her love life when it wasn't with him.
What? It wasn't selfish, he just didn't want to deal with his heart being stomped on again.

Ariana looked down at her sparkly shoes before she heard.. what.. he.. said... "Noo." she cried out seeming pathetic really "Why!? Why are you leaving?" because of her? this was all because of her wasnt it. UGH GOOD JOB LOGAN! ruining something else why dont you. ugh maybe SHE Should just leave. she seemed to ruin everything this term. if it wasnt one person's life it was another's. :wibble: maybe she should just go to practice and get herself knocked out or something.. let a quaffle knock her off her broom again from 40 feet up.

Damon looked at her, he wanted to lie and just jump over her small part in why he wanted to leave, but if she didn't hear it from him someone else would probably tell her, "There's three reasons actually... The first, and largest reason, is because I just feel like I don't belong here any longer. The second, all the arguing that's been going on with me and everyone around me." He paused, truly not wanting to say the last one, but he force the truth out of himself, "And the third, smallest reason," Have to make sure she understands that, "is because of our break up." He didn't know if he could deal with her dodging him and avoiding him contantly.

Ariana looked up at him suddenly as he told her the last reason 'Becasue of ME!?' she didnt get that.. Why would he leave just cause of her. pout pout pooouutttt "Don't leave because of me damon." really that would make her feel even WORSE.. he only had one more year after this.. just one more he could do it.. right. it wasnt too much longer.

Damon shook his head, "Ari, that's that smallest reason, maybe 1% of it all. I just don't feel welcome here anymore, and I feel everyone will be happier without me here." He sighed ad looked at her, "I swear were that the only reason I wanted to leave I never would." As much as I would still want to... He sat beside her, "And I'll still be around. Everytime the train pulls in and out of the station to say hello and goodbye. I'll go to Hogsmeade all the time I'm sure."

She sighed and a frown came on her face as she looked down "If that's what ou feel like you have to do.. i'm Not stopping you." she shrugged. She wasnt going to go on and ruin it if he truely wanted to leave. she'd just have to get over it.. she'd still seem him all the time.. they were distant family after all but whatever. She grumbled a bit to herself "So your finishing the term then leaving?" she asked him to confirm. because well. she didnt know why she wanted to know but if a reason were to come up then she'd know right?
