Divination Lesson One (Dream Divination) The chill November air was definately hanging around the Divination Tower but once you ascended the ladder into the classroom the heat from the firegrate, being trapped in the room with the window-coverings, assured you this class was definately going to be a stifling one. The room was dark, apart from a few candles here and there so watch your step as you find you way to a table. |
Divination class. Not his best or favorite subject, but one Gideon chose to attend. He had worked real hard on the subject's OWLs to obtain that right. So when it was time for the lesson, the seventh year made his way up the Divination tower, thankful for his robes against the blustery breezes moving around as he climbed. However as he entered the classroom it was once more warm, its fire reminiscant of the one he had left back in the common room. Gideon looked around for the professor but didn't spot the woman, only her parrot. In fact he seemed to have been the first to arrive. Interesting...was he that early? The prefect moved to take a seat to wait, perhaps the rest had gotten a late start. |
Elliot had never taken this class before. But she decided that...hey, might as well, right? It seemed...interesting. Maybe not too logical...oh well. She heard it was an...interesting class, right? She seemed to be one of the first ones here...hmm. No professor? Weird. She also tensed up a bit at the heat...why was it so HOT?! WHY?! Elliot shed her robes and hung them over the back of her chair...were robes exactly required? She had her uniform on underneath! Whatever. SHe adjusted her tie and sighed...resting her chin on the palm of her hand... Whatever. |
Silvia climbed up to the Divination Tower. Divination was not a subject she took very seriously for the most part; but she chose to take the class nonetheless. It couldn't hurt to have a well rounded education after all. And she admitted that she was a bit curious about the subject. When she reached the classroom she found it warm; almost too warm actually. Though it was dark, a quick scan of the room revealed that the professor was not to be found. Oh well. Silvia scooted among the tables and took a seat near the middle. |
Taryn was most definitely not a Seer and she was pretty sure she wouldn't need Divination knowledge in her career of choice, but for some other unknown reason, she'd always enjoyed the subject. Plus, it totally helped that Professor Elwood had such fabulous hair. It was much easier to take a person seriously when they had fabulous hair. Selecting a spot, Taryn sat and crossed her legs. She had taken to wearing her hair down more and more since it had gotten colder out, but well, it was awfully stuffy in here. While she waited, she pulled her hair back again, that would be much better for the duration of this class. Whew. |
A little bit of Gideon too ^_^ Abby stood in the really dark and stifling room, thinking she'd made a major mistake in picking this class. One, what's with all the dark classrooms? DADA and now Divination. The girl was just not happy. Two, why was it so hot? She felt like she was going to melt any second. UGH. She wanted to leave but she'd climbed all the way up here and she was way too lazy to go back down. Bleh. .. And the class was almost empty. She spotted the guy she'd asked for directions early on in the term, earning him a smile now. Abby decided to take a seat next to him, wondering where on earth the professor got to. |
Ella very slowly made her way up to the Divination Tower, shivering all the while. Winter was definitely coming and the third year couldn't help but be a bit sad about it. Though snowball fights were definitely something to look forward to, yeah? After climbing the ladder into the classroom, the badger stopped and let her eyes adjust to the lighting, or lack there of. Blink.Blink. It sure was dark...and warm. The warmth wasn't unwelcome though, seeing as Ella really hated the cold. Being careful not to bump into anything, or anyone, the third year made her way to the nearest empty table. She placed her bag on the floor beside her and removed her parchment and quill, setting them on the table. Not that taking notes was going to be particularly easy, not when Ella could hardly see. Hmmm...and where was Professor Elwood, anyway? Curious. |
As soon as he entered the classroom, Theodore yawned rather dramatically. All this extra effort he was giving into classes was really taking it's toll on his brain. Today would be no different, though. He wasn't great at Divination, so he had his thinking cap on to get some serious learning done. He didn't like the feel of the classroom. It was dark and stuffy. And kind of scary. Though he did spot Ella from across the room, so he smiled at her. But where was the professor? Oh, well seeing as she was absent, Theo figured that he could greet Ella more than just a small smile. "HI, ELLA!" He raised his voice, as he was on the other side of the room after all. Theo took a seat, then poked a bit of dust on his desk. |
Rest of the class too Soon enough more students began arriving in the tower classroom, a smattering of all age groups within them. But still no professor. No biggie not like everyone wasn't simply sitting down and not causing trouble. Besides shouldn't he as a prefect be alright to watch over them for the time being. The seventh year briefly glancing around at those gathered again. Was it getting warmer in here? Quote:

Blah. Why was it so hot in here? The other befireplaced rooms always felt pleasantly warm. But, nope, this one had to feel like wandering the desert. The 'lit only by candles' thing she could handle, that was what one expected when visiting a Seer, but the heat? Emmanuelle slowly picked her way to a desk and sat, pulling off her uniform's jacket and sweater vest and rolled up the sleeves on her button down. There that was a little better. Now if only she could get by with taking her shoes and socks off.... |
Daichi didn't really like Divination , he simply did not understand the importance of it. He still came to the first lesson though as he followed the line of students up on the ladder to the tower. His Slytherin scarf hung around his neck from the cold air downstairs but once upstairs, he had to remove it. It was pretty hot and dark inside the tower and he quickly unwrapped his scarf from around his neck. He stepped closer inside the room aaaand... just like in CoMC and DADA he froze on the spot as he eyed the candles. WHY? why were it ALWAYS candles?! And the fire grate wasn't helping much either. The Slytherin let out a soft whimper as he shuffled through the room. The Professor didn't seem to be around. He slowly sat on one of the chairs as he continued to eye the danger that was around him. Yes, fire was dangerous and terrifying. He wanted to use the Aguamenti charm so badly on the candles and fire grate! :whaa: |
*grumble grumble grumble* Kurumi had to constantly remind herself that she was here because she was simply keeping her options open and that there was a SLIGHT chance that something said here could pertain to what she was planning on studying at university. Fat chance, but you never know. Maybe they would use dragon parts or something to divine their futures. Right. Professor Looneywood and her subject were not that interesting to do something like that. Kurumi entered the classroom and...the woman wasn't even here. Fantastic. Her parrot was, and Kurumi sort of bowed in it's direction. "Hello...Galileo," Kurumi greeted the bird before taking a seat. Maybe the professor had misplaced her Inner Eye and gotten lost? Heh. Oh, and there was Daichi...again with the candles. She gave him a quick smile and a wave. She REALLY needed to help him with his fear of fire...and fast... |
Ariana took the ladder to divination How weird first of all, and it was dark in there :whaa: Ariana prefers begin able to see thank you. though she wouldnt complain about the warmth in there. The winter Air made her gloomy and no one wanted to see a gloomy ariana, And of course NO ONE she knew was in this class yet. she looked around not even the professor o.0 weirdd |
Divination is not a strong point of Juliet. She's okay with it but she's just not the type of person who would go into detail with these things. Of course people who are Seers and whatnot have an incredible gift of understanding Divination, that's a plus factor for them but Juliet is just not the smartest person when it comes to Divination. She's hoping for the best. So hopefully today's lecture is easy as pie. She stepped inside the room, the professor wasn't still there. Good sign. It means she's early. She took a seat in one corner, placed her bag on top of the table. Now to wait. |
Alice did not skip into Divination. No, no, it was not worth the skipping. She stepped into the classroom with a scowl on her face. She was absolutely horrrid at Divination, no matter how hard she tried. And the classes were hard. Who cared how the future turned out? If people were patient and waited, they'd find out in a bit, anyway. But, no, NO, it was necessary to read crystal balls and tea dregs and all that mumbo jumbo. She honestly didn't get why anyone even bothered. The little Gryffindor dragged her bag along the floor behind her, slouching her shoulders. The rest of her body was slumped, as well. Anyone could easily tell that she didn't want to be there. Alice plopped into a seat beside Kurumi and dropped her bag and scowled at everyone. Naturally, she was in a grumpy mood today. |
Divinations. Of course he'd be so there. Scarf wrapped around his neck and tucked into his robes like a thick necktie, Vickers made his way from the Eagle common room to the Divination towers a short ways away. He could feel the warm heat pouring out of the passageway that led up to Elwood's classroom and as soon as he found himself standing in the stifling darkness he eased his scarf off himself and turned to look for a vacant table. On his way there he paused by the Professor's pet parrot to say hello "Hey there fella..." |
It was getting colder by the day, Louisa felt it and it usually made her slightly solemn, she preferred the sun and the warmth, but not this year. This year all seasons and times and moments were evenly happy as long as she could be around... certain people. So yeah.. As she walked out of her common room, smiling and beaming, the stairs up to the Divination classroom wasn't even as hard after the Yoga exercises and her fussing around the castle running errands and doing Prefect patrols. She stepped into the room, the familiar sight of Galilo welcomed her in but as she opened her mouth to cheerfully greet Elwood... she noticed that there was no Elwood around. Huh. Must be in her room down the tiny steps? Shrug. Louisa just walked on, threw a 'hey' at Galilo and positioned herself on one of the empty tables. |
Sarah made her way into the divination tower and into the classroom. "Hi Kurumi" she said to her prefect. Noticing the other prefect (Gideon) there she greeted him with a wave and a Hi. As she made her way to her seat she nodded a greeting to the students she knew. Ella was there, as was Alice and that Grumpy boy (Theo). She sat down in her seat and took some notes out of her satchel, this why she revised what she had learned so far in divination as well as ding some textbook reading. Divinition was one of the subjects Sarah had not done a lot of background reading on during the holidays. |
Abby racked her brain for a moment, trying to remember what his name was. Bleh. That's why she gave people nicknames. They are hard to forget, right? Oh, wait. Gideon. Yes. "Giddy, isn't it?" Abby asked, mimicking his tone. Yeah. She liked getting on people's nerves and she wouldn't be surprised if Giddy just sat somewhere else. But, yeah. Giddy was a good nickname. Way to go, Abs. Seriously. WHERE was the professor? She was bored and the heat was really starting to get to her. Abby leaned back against her seat and sighed. This was going to be a really long lesson. She knew it. |
and Sarah <33 "Hey Sarah," Kurumi smiled as she waved to the little first year as she entered. "Hey, thanks for walking with me back to the dorms after Transfiguration. I owe you cookies." Quote:
"Alice, you alright?" Kurumi asked as the younger Gryffindor slouched into the seat beside her. It was a seat typically reserved for Selina...but seeing the look on Alice's face sort of made Kurumi shut up for now. Selina couldn't get mad at Alice, right? This was, well, ALICE! |
The second-year felt like leaving the fireplace in the common room was the hardest thing in the world. It was getting colder and Cassia liked the cold but when she was huddled near the fireplace and tucked in a bout two jackets. Though she was convincing herself that Divination lesson is worth it, no? Well, last lesson was kinda interesting. As a locket had been found then it was discovered that it belonged to that crazy shopkeeper. Though that lesson was outdoors not like this one. But Cassia needed a reason to leave the warm common room so she was hoping for an interesting lesson. As she entered, the twelve-years old opened her mouth automatically, "Good day Pro......" She trailed off when seeing that there was no Professor. Oh well, if the lesson was canceled Cassia wouldn't mind. Glancing at Elwood's bird, Cassia waved at it."Hey birdy!" She then chose a chair and sank down rubbing her hands together. It was warm here but extra warm won't be a problem. |
but of course he sits here.... Quote:
"'Scuse me Miss but I think you're in my seat." he said as he stood behind her for a moment, trying to sound oh so serious. He waited just when she would likely move, slipped behind just out of her field of vision to plop himself on one of the cushy seats next to her. Yes his lame idea of a joke. Boyfriends can get away with that right? |
Divination. Coolio. Though, in all honesty, she wanted to go back into the Common Room and not do her homework. In front of the fire. And send tiny letters that said things like 'what are you doing NOW?!' to Bliss. That sounded like a good plan. But ditching class would probably not be the best idea ever. So, with a heavy heart, Blue trudged into the classroom, the heat of the fire absolutely LOVELY. Just lovely. Glancing around, to say hey to the professor...eh...she couldn't find her. But she could find Theo. Rightio. Sliding into the desk beside him, and chucking her bag under the table she BEAMed at her bestie. "Haiiii Theo. Whatcha do with the professor?" Just out of curiosity. |
At least, He did not have to walk far to get to Divination. That was the only plus of having class on the seventh floor. Nigel walks to Divination and walks straight to his desk. He saw the bird that thought it was nothing special. He wondered if the bird could talk and tell the professor if there is nay problems in the class. Now that would be an awesome bird. He sits down and starts daydreaming. The teacher was not here and Nigel was feeling really lazy today.. |
Nell stopped inside the classroom with more then a little trepidation. Dark classrooms were never a good thing when you were a clutz. The wave of heat hit her like a wall and she was positive that she would be sweating by the time this class was over. Ugh. Divination. Carefully she made her way into the class and looked around for an empty table. There was a strange parrot watching her progress. Her foot hit the side of another table and she stumbled. Blast it! Quickly before she could cause herself further injury she collapsed into an empty seat at one of the empty tables. |
