It was warmer in the arena today, and lucky for the students, the purple mats were back down on the ground where they belonged, as were the miniature tray tables acting as desks. With the usual morning sun shining brightly through the large windows, opened just a hint to let in some nice crisp morning air, all in all it looked like just any other lesson. Or perhaps the Professor looked just a little too happy sitting down on her own burgundy mat, lotus style; maybe due to the fact from finally getting those mats down from the ceiling.
Find a mat you like and get comfortable, because that may be the last time you are during the lesson. Class will begin shortly.
OOC: Class has started. If you're just joining us, post your character as if they've been here the entire time, ______or they may just face a little consequence.

Needless to say the kid started panicking. This was what happened when you allowed kids to cast on each other.
"I don't know how I feel anymore!!" She couldn't think straight! "But why d'you need to call the professor?! Did something go wrong?! I don't wanna diiiiieeeee!!!" Well not die exactly but she rather liked her legs and judging by the reaction of this older girl something had gone wrong. She thought it was fine but that was CLEARLY not the case and now she would be paralyzed for the rest of her life and she would never get to ride the giant squid!!
Nuuuuuu!
"Uhhhh--do the finite spell thing!! Quick before it becomes irreversible!!"Hurry.

Oh no... OHNO! Why didn't her spell work?? She had done it all right!! Sophie never had major problems with spells... WHY DID IT HAPPEN NOW?? And with Alexa!? Sophie remembers her for being really loud in classes sometimes and MERLIN, she was about to get loud now wasn't she??? Hnnnnnnnnnnnngh!
She didn't know how she felt? That was worse than Sophie thought! Oh, Merlin, why?? "I didn't think it had gone wrong, but your face said everything!" The badger told the younger girl. fdgjndfkjn "You're not going to die, Alexa!" OH PLEASE DON'T DIE!
Cast the Finite. That was a good idea. "Okay, hang on." The brunette said, taking a deep breath and staring at Alexa's legs with a serious expression. Calm down, Sophie, it will all be alright. Professor Romanos was right there, if anything went really wrong.
"Finite!"
??????? Were her legs alright??? WERE THEY???

Wait what?!
"But I didn't think there was anything wrong until I saw the look on your face!!!" This was why people needed to state their reason for freaking out while they freaked out; it made things much simpler for all involved. "And I don't think I'll die any more but what if I can't walk?!?! I'm too young to be immobile!!!" It was true! There were still dozens of trees to climb, bikes to ride, boys to kick--too much for her to not be able to use her legs!!!
She started taking deep breaths when the girl told her to hang on. Okay. She would hang on. She could do this. There was no need to freak out...the girl was going to save her legs for her to use them another day. PLEEEEEAAAASE WORK. Though why wouldn't it? Technically she'd cast the spell right hadn't she????
When she heard the girl utter the next spell common sense neglected to tell her that it was for her own good. The 11 year old flailed but lost balance and toppled to the floor. Wasted effort too 'cause the spell still hit.
Blink. Blink.
She grabbed hold of both feet. They didn't feel weird any more. "You...you did it!!! You saved me!" Nevermind that she was the one who cast te horrid foot spell in the first place....

Oh? Wait what?? That was like a vicious circle then! Sophie got worried after seeing the look on Alexa's face, who had gotten worried because of Sophie's face, who...!
Whoa! That really scared Sophie for a moment. Imagine if she was responsible for Alexa being immobile... Shiver. Merlin!
So... Finite had worked! PHEW. "That was close...!" Sophie sighed in relief. Saved her? That would've made the third year giggle if she wasn't still recovering from the shock. Sophie managed to give Alexa a nervous smile before taking a few steps away.
Whatever would happen now... Sophie would try her best to NOT freak out. "You can try it now."Merlin, please let it work. OhpleaseOhpleaseOhplease!
Yeeaah, Alexa got her all nervous now. Meep.

"You want to keep the lines as short and tight as possible. Nothing too over the top here."
"What you will feel with this spell, is as if your legs have been weakened. Perhaps the best example I can give is as if you've ran as far as your legs could take you, but you just can run anymore or stand even. It doesn't hurt, but I will say it is a little uncomfortable. If you collapse, that's fine. Don't worry. It doesn't mean you're suddenly paralyzed for the rest of your life." She momentarily eyed a certain Gryffindor first year for a moment. Mmhmm, keeping low on the dramatics in the lesson would be nice.
"Practice the wand movement and incantation separately, find a partner, and you can begin practicing on each other. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. Better to be safe than sorry." And as if the spell wasn't enough for them to concentrate on today, with a flick of her wand, some rather catchy music started to play. "To end this spell, a simple 'Finite' will do."
Once the discussion had turned to spells, and not more abotu hinkypunks specifically, Kendall had simply applied herself to more stretching. She even did a bit of stretching her arms and fingers as they'd been instructed on the specific spells they were going to be working on, just in case. It wasn't anything that really used them, unlike last lesson, but she wanted to be prepared. Lots of wibbly stuff, she thought to herself, watching the demonstration of the wand movement for the first spell. And she bit back a giggle as music suddenly sounded in the classroom, too. Why do we need music if we aren't doing the Dancing Feet spell first?, she wondered, even as she idly started to practice the wand movement for the Jelly-Legs jinx. Eventually, she started amusing herself by performing the movements to the music, but then she stopped for a second or two. Time to practice the actual incantation. "Locomotor Wibbly," she repeated to herself quietly several times, ignoring the people around her who had started to actually practice.
After a few more moments, she looked around again. "Anyone wanna be my partner?, " she said, trying to speak slightly louder than the music. She wasn't going to find anyone to cast the spell on if nobody heard her, of course. But once it had been stated, she just started bouncing around to the beat of the music, occasionally quietly saying the incantation over again in tune. At least she shouldn't have to worry about accidentally casting if she kept her wand down at her side, or not doing the wand movement in any case. Hopefully. She would pretend it had been intentional if she did accidentally cast it, since they were supposed to be practicing anyway.

"Great," Kurumi chirped in response, twirling her wand idly between her fingers as she backed up away from the younger Slytherin. "How about you give it a go first?" As in did Kat want to try shooting the spell of the moment at Kurumi. Of course, the seventh year wouldn't be trying to put up any Shield Charms or anything - although her reflexes would be to do so.
Really, what was the worse that could happen? It wasn't like this spell could make her legs inflate like her fingers had last lesson, yeah?
Taking a few more steps back, Kurumi pocketed her wand for the time being and stood with her arms out for balance. Just in case. "Ready when you are."

Start now? And Kat's going to start it. Though a bit nervous, Kat didn't mind. If Kurumi didn't, then why should she? There is actually nothing she should be afraid off, since she was really confident that Kurumi knew her spells well and that Kat herself practiced a fair few times. She managed to get the spell right though. "Alright," Kat replied. No need to hesitate, to be honest. Just be calm and believe in yourself. Ah, words of a Ravenclaw.
Kat swallowed first before getting into position. You know, standing a few steps away from the older Lion so that she had enough reaction time and so that she wouldn't hit her that fast. Ok... Here goes nothing. "Locomotor Wibbly!" the fourth year cried while doing the squibbly whatever upside down U movement. Alright, hopefully Kurumi wasn't permanently hurt. Otherwise Kat will be deadmeat with Lewis.
... And what a catchy dancy song.

Considering Hannah did not do so well last in the last class she kept her mouth closed when it came to the whol guessing what they are going to be doing thing. She wasn't going to make a fool out of herself. Nope! She did make notes on her parchment though. That counted for something right? Surely!
She watched as the wand movement was shown and she paid close attention to how to properly say the incantation. Time for practice. She tried the wand movement first. She did the wiggly U thing until she felt like she had it done. Then she placed her wand down and tried the incantation a few times. "Locomotor Wibbly." That was simple enough. She said it until she felt comfortable with that as well.
Now all she needed was a partner. She noticed another girl that was still needing a partner so she walked over to her. "I still need a partner. What do you say?"

Tapping her hand against he leg, Kurumi actually got caught up a little more in the music that was playing than she thought she would. "Woooooooah!"
Lost in thought, Kurumi hadn't realized that Kat had actually cast the spell until, well, it hit her leg - but just her right leg. Losing her balance slightly, Kurumi's leg began to perform something that resembled a River Dance and began to drag her across the area while the seventh year flailed her arms for balance.
Well, this felt weird.
"Nice....spellwork....Kat..." Kurumi managed to say between arm flails. "You....want....to....try....to....hit....the.... other...leg?" Or stop the current one?

No one then? Or wait..was Louisa talking to her? The red head turned around to face the Ravenclaw approaching her and put a soft smile on her face as she nodded in agreement to being partners. "I pick you then." Ravenclaw's were supposed to be clever right? Most of them seemed so anyways.
So to get started then? Nessie was sure she could do the spell and if need be she would go first. Though truth be told she felt a little more comfortable not being the first to go. You know in case she messed up Louisa's legs. That would be beyond embarrassing.
"You wanna go first?" shed asked and then nervously twiddled her wand between her fingers.
Not that Louisa expected Nessie to refuse cooperating with her but she still beamed at the younger Hufflepuff when she agreed to partner up. "Cool." The hand holding the wand went still then and the Ravenclaw nodded. "Okay. I'll try to get one of your legs. Once I succeed, I'll end the spell and then it's your turn." Deal? They didn't have any other choice anyways, it was what the lesson is about. And from the way Nessie was twiddling the wand between her fingers, Louisa figured she was not very comfortable getting her legs jellied out.
Anyways. The seventh year took a few steps backward, straightened up and assumed the position of a dueler. "Ready? Set..." She took a moment reciting the incantation in her head. "Locomotor Wibbly!" Her hand moved along with her words, wiggling a bit too much in a bendy shape with her focus set on Nessie's left leg. Louisa's usual hexes and curses were pathetically mild, she didn't seem to conjure enough concentration to perform well in DADA. Unlike Charms.

Woooooh. Kat's spell worked. The snake considered rejoicing until... "Uhmm..."
Only Kurumi's right leg was hit. Or left leg. Whatevs. But that was clearly not what Kat expected... Or wanted. Oh Merlin, Lewis is going to kill her. What has she done to the Lion Prefection? What would the Hufflepuff prefect say?! If only, Kat would've ran away and hid in a tiny hole and never leave. But she was exagerrating it too much... As if it were a crime.
O______O But still, a half dancing Kurumi Hollingberry was not what Kat wanted... How much more Lewis? No, not at all. The snake is gonna be deadmeat by badger. Heh, what an awkward mix. But anyway, Kat decided to hit the other leg of Kurumi. Gulp. "I'll cast another at your other leg..." Kat said then exhaled. If this spell hits someone else, Kat will never forgive DADA class. "Locomotor Wibbly!" Kat said, accompanied with the squiggly upside down U.
Oh, I hope Lewis won't turn me to deadmeat. Ehhh. Kat then closed her eyes. She didn't wanna see horror anymore. No.

Minerva watched him wobble a bit and then go to one foot, well at least his weight. She half smiled, at least she knew she could do it, but now to do both legs. Pointing her wand, "Finite" She didn't want him to be struggling to long, no even a little struggle would not do. She hated seeing him uncomfortable, but had to admit that it was fun to know she could do the spell.
Hoping it would go away for him soon since she used a counter, Minerva waited for him to be able to stand. Well now the question was should she try again for both legs this time or should she just let him try. "So do you think I should try again or are you ready to try? Either way is fine with me.." She gave a smile and then a thought crossed her mind, "You know if it would have worked, it would have been nice to see you fall at my feet for once instead of me always falling for you." A small chuckle left her as she thought about that.
Nearly losing his balance again, Ethan threw out an arm to try to steady himself.. starting to chuckle at how ridiculous he probably looked. He shot Minerva a grateful smile as he heard the counter spell and offered her a, "Thanks."
His leg was slowly starting to feel normal now and he tentatively started to put a little weight on it. "Okay.. that's better," he grinned as it went back to its original state and he looked back at Minnie. He laughed a little at her words, then added, "Don't you know I've already fallen for you, Minnie?" Ethan gave the girl a wink, then chuckled at his own joke. Shaking his head slightly, he said, "No.. you can give it another try, if you want.. I'm sure you'll get both legs this time." And then he'd really be falling..

Nod. Nod. One leg sounded good to Ness, that way it would hopefully also be less scary. Gahh! This was so nerve-racking though. What if a mistake happened? What if it was so bad that her legs would be ruined forever. What Nessie needed was trust, which she struggled with. Not because of Louisa but that's just how she was. There were very, very few people in the world that Nessie fully trusted, even when it came to dancing it was difficult for her.
Ready ...set. Oh Merlin here went...nothing. No literally nothing.
UNTILL..dum..dum..dum..Nessie tried to lift her left leg up. It wasn't that she couldn't lift her leg up, it was just that it felt weird. Very weird! It was almost like pins and needles going through her whole leg. One thing for sure, it was no where near comfortable. "Um..my leg feels like it's got pins and needles all over. I think that's a start right?" Because from what the Professor described it sounded like it was meant to be much worse. "Wanna give it another go?" she asked with her wand still being twiddled between her fingers. Just Breathe, her leg wasn't going to be lost today!

Just as everyone was starting, Medea turned her attention to the Gryffindor seventh year, having a rather good question. "No, Miss Hollingberry." she smiled, accent slipping back into her speech momentarily. "Just so happens they haff a similar part in their incantation, though doesn't mean they are a related spell."
After giving them some time to just get their feet wet with practicing the spells, the professor glanced at her watch, eyeing the arena doors every now and then. Honestly, with everything that was going on in the castle recently, how long could she get away with keeping the students in here?
"Hold on for a moment, everyone." she called out to the class, trying to get their attention. So far so good. "If you're comfortable in your execution of this spell already, or if you're too uncomfortable with it, you can move on to the Dancing Feet spell." Though she would like them to stick with practicing the spell until they got it. "Remember, the incantation is Tarantallegra. It would be best to practice speaking this spell first. Try not to elongate any sounds when speaking, even though that may seem natural to do."
"The wand motion for this one is a little more difficult. It must be done quickly and tightly. It consists of a small circle, then a quick arch, and another small circle at the end. Like so..." The professor raised her wand for them to see, demonstrating the rapid wand movement, and once again slower for easier understanding. "If you're ready, go ahead and try. For those who get this spell right early today, I'd like you to try and disarm your opponent while under the effects of the Dancing Feet spell. A little bonus. Five points to those who can hit their target."
Medea grinned before quieting down again, starting to move around so she see everyone better.
OOC: The class will be ending tomorrow, Nov. 20 @ 11pm EST. Feel free to practice either spell, though keep in mind your character's abilities. First and second years may have a harder time with these spells than fifth or seventh years. And that is perfectly fine.

"What you will feel with this spell, is as if your legs have been weakened. And as if the spell wasn't enough for them to concentrate on today, with a flick of her wand, some rather catchy music started to play. "To end this spell, a simple 'Finite' will do."
Realizing she was a bit behind in getting started, Sierra looked around the room. "Does anybody still need a partner?" she asked. She looked around, but when she didn't immediately see anybody in need of one, she decided to practice a little while she waited.
"Locotomor Wibbly," she said, smirking in amusement as she listened to herself say the spell. It was a weird name for an incantation. "Locomotor Wibbly. Locomotor Wibbly." Okay, that was enough of the incantation. She raised her wand and started moving it in that upside down U shape. Now this was a little harder. Sierra's eyebrows furrowed inward as she studied the way the wand was moving.

"Hold on for a moment, everyone." she called out to the class, trying to get their attention. So far so good. "If you're comfortable in your execution of this spell already, or if you're too uncomfortable with it, you can move on to the Dancing Feet spell." For those who get this spell right early today, I'd like you to try and disarm your opponent while under the effects of the Dancing Feet spell. A little bonus. Five points to those who can hit their target."
Medea grinned before quieting down again, starting to move around so she see everyone better.
Again--did anybody need a partner?!
Sierra hadn't even been able to do this first spell. Well, not really. "Professor?" she asked. "Will you be my partner?" Who better to practice with than the professor? While she waited for that answer, she practiced this incantation and wand movement, too.
"Tarantallegra," she said. Now this was a weird incantation. She almost got tongue-tied saying it. "Tarantallegra. Tarantallegra." She then moved her wand in a small circle, a quick arch, and then another small circle.
Then she paused. Five points?! "Professor! Can I aim for you?" she asked. Yeah. She didn't have a partner.

"That is a good question." she nodded. "And that would depend on the person, Miss Campbell. Just as not every believes a hex is worse than a jinx, your opinions may vary on the level of severity this particular spell has." Though their textbook stated it was a jinx, so that's what she was teaching it as.

Vickers had a small grin on his face on the affirmation that he answered correctly, but then angled his head to the side when the Defense Professor said he may not be. Maybe not be what?... a Ravenclaw? Pssh, he is so a Ravenclaw... his eyes says it all right? Right.
So it was time for them to practice the spell. Again he mouthed off the incantation silently a few times, then just practiced the wand stroke-- a little tricky, what with getting the number of loops right, then one after the other saying the spell then doing the wand stroke.
Now has come the part where he needed to try it on a partner. This part he had always begrudged because he wasnt one to actually practice it on a live person, specially on the first time out. At least if he screws up its just on a dummy...
But then the Professor moved onto the next spell. He went ahead and practiced that (as he hasnt secured a partner) and mouthed off the words a few times. Saying Tarantallegra was actually pretty easy, it was the wand work that was even more difficult than the Jelly-legs jinx. He practiced the wand work several times, trying to be very exacting with the loops and the flicks and the lines....

Oh, no partner from the looks of it.

No.
Kurumi had begun to fish through her robe's pockets for her wand with the intention of casting a quick Finite and removing the spell once Kat had given things another go, but her legs got the better of her. Especially when Kat's spell hit her left leg and caused that one to begin to dance in a more elegant ballet style. So, there she was, one half of her body doing some sort of River Dance while the other was performing Swan Lake.
T____________________________T
Legs causing her to spin on her own, Kurumi gave up on trying to remove her wand from her pocket for the time being and instead tried to focus on getting her balance back...

....which wasn't exactly happening as she did a leaping double axle of some sort that landed her in front of Professor Romanos. "O-o-o-o-oooooooh, thaaaaaaaaanks, professor," Kurumi said with a rather awkward smile as her legs once again began battling for dominance and she went dancing off in the other direction.
Kurumi spun-leaped-somethinged back over to Kat and her hands were back in her robe's pockets scrambling for her wand when...
>____________________________<
Both her legs came out from under her and she ended up doing the splits right there in the middle of the room. Thankfully for Kurumi, she was rather limber so this didn't hurt per say. It was just awkward that she was now doing the splits AND her feet were still tapping and wiggling in attempt to continue to dance.
Finally finding her wand, Kurumi flicked it towards her legs and cast a silent Finite to remove the effects of the spell before flopping on to her back. Okay...maybe this was worse than sausage fingers...
Maybe Kat had been subconsciously thinking about the Dancing Feet spell while casting the other on her?

Rolling on to her stomach, Kurumi glanced at Professor Romanos as she explained what could be done next and then turned her attention back to Kat. It was up to the Slytherin which one she wanted to do...but it seemed to Kurumi that the girl's magic seemed to be prone towards the art of dance. At least for now. Kurumi had used the Jelly Legs jinx many a time before, so practice for her really wasn't necessary.
"I'm alright," she said rather suddenly once she pushed herself up off the ground, stretching her legs just a little to get some of the kinks out of it. "I think you are going to be a natural with the Dancing Feet spell." Positive reinforcement, right?

Mr. Vanderbilt? Who...oh. Vickers! Sierra had never really called him anything dealing with Vanderbilt. As a matter of fact, she didn't even realize he had another name besides Vickers. Heh. "Mmhmm," Sierra said, nodding toward the professor.
With her wand spinning baton-style in her hand, Sierra crossed the room and approached Vickers. "Looks like it's me and you then," she said, and aimed the wand toward him. No, she wasn't going to cast, but she would soon once they'd officially partnered up. "I'll go first." Casting on him, she meant.
Nod.
Just Breathe, her leg wasn't going to be lost today!
.... only needles and pins? Grumblehmphgrumble. This wasn't what the hex should be like. Louisa frowned down at her wand. "It's a start yea.." a BAD one. She wiggled her wand again, without aiming at Nessie, practicing the wand movement again. It wasn't embarrassing anymore to mess up a hex, but it was annoying and she needed to get it right if she wanted to pass NEWT. "Okay. Again." Clearing her throat and taking the position once more, her eyes boring into Nessie's left leg again.
Jelly leg.. jelly leg... jelly leg...
"Locomotor Wibbly!" This time she let her wrist move the wand, wiggling it subtly as it drew a 'U' shape in the air. All the while her eyes and focus were on Nessie's leg.

He felt a gentle hand on his shoulder and he stopped his wand practice in mid-stroke. Brows goes up ever so slightly, thinking the Professor was going to correct him with his practice. But that terrified yelp was caught in his throat when Romanos said he was partnering with Sierra.....
Sierra? The Terror Prefect? His Uncle's old boss' daughter? This was just as bad-- if not worse-- than experimenting on his own girlfriend o___O
But he can only nod stiffly at the Professor and a forced smile tugged at his lips when Sierra neared him. Warily he eyed that wand aimed at him-- she was gonna maim him this close to his graduation? Well psssh she can get away with it she's the Minister's daughter. He nicks his spells the wrong way he could face a full Wizengamot inquisition "Right.... he croaked then cleared his throat, no need to make her know he's terrified of them partnering up. "Right sure thing... whatever you say." At least if her spell looked like it was gonna go straight for his head purposely accidentally he can still cast a shield charm right?

"Okay.. that's better," he grinned as it went back to its original state and he looked back at Minnie. Shaking his head slightly, he said, "No.. you can give it another try, if you want.. I'm sure you'll get both legs this time." And then he'd really be falling..
Minerva couldn't help but smile and blush at his words. He was always finding a way to make her blush, but she didn't mind at all. "Okay.. if you think your are ready, I guess I will try..." Her words were stopped by the professor talking to the class. Oh the other spell already, but they hadn't finished this one. Well she would give this one last try and then let him try so they at least had time to both get this one down. Even though the dancing one sounded very entertaining. She could only imagine using this spell on someone.
Pulling up her wand again Minerva concentrated on the wand movement. Then began the squiggle upside down U. Then she spoke clearly again Locomotor Wibbly" This time she made sure her wand was pointed in between the legs to hopefully catch both of them not just one. Looking at Ethan she wondered if it worked or not...
"Locomotor...Wibbly. Locomotor Wibbly. Easy," she said. Now to find a partner... She looked around the room, seeing people pair up left and right. Aha! There was a Gryffindor girl who still needed a partner, so she walked over to her.
"Hi, do you still need a partner?" she asked pleasantly.
Sarah was about to give up when the other girl came over. "Yes I still do." she said.
"I am not very good at this and I seem to get worse as I do not want to hurt anyone, but I will try - I will try once then you will go and then we will move onto the next spell?" Sarah said.
"Locomotor Wibbly" Sarah said and she did the upside down U, yet left out the squiggles as she did not want to hurt the other girl.
She then decided to pretend that the other girl was an ant and did the spell correctly : "Locomotor Wibbly' she said doing the upside down squiggly U. It had worked!

After a nod of confirmation to Sierra and Vickers, the professor moved away so they could practice, not wanting to be caught in the crossfire or disrupt their concentration. Besides, there was a Gryffindor youngster who needed correcting on the wand movement.
Or not. Seemed to correct it herself.

A scan around the room suggested that they may have had an uneven number of students this lesson. Unless there was someone hidden behind another that she didn't see, Dylan was going to be stuck with her. "Alright, Mr. Montmorency." she said, turning towards the Slytherin Captain, wand at her side but not raised.
