The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
Toddles liked blue, it was the color of the ceiling he could see in the big room that the windows kept out. Tinka and the other House Elf's wouldn't let Toddles out there. Maybe one day. Catch was probably awesome in there.
"Hello studensies, Toddles has tried playing catch with the green ones and the red ones, do blue boys and girls know this game? Toddles will teach you." He raised the orb above his head with his tiny hands and then flung it, hard towards some studensies.
Louise was just walked to her table when she saw a house elf at another table causing trouble, I though house elfs were supposed to be nice she caught the orb in her hands when he throw it "that was not very nice you could have hurt them"

She also managed to seat herself by those older students with the badges, right? She so was. Dora didn't even need to lean in to hear what they were going on about, but she did leeeeeeean to see what was in that carrier.

Or whenever she wanted, really.

He never visited another house table before but a lot of people said its okay to do so. So, that what he did. Messer walked toward the Ravenclaw table searching for his favorite red hair Quidditch captain. Since its Ellie' last year in Hogwarts he wanted to spend more time with her maybe he could glued himself to Ellie. Well, she might not like it though.
The Hufflepuff could easily spotted Ellie. Its not that hard spotting her really with her red hair and all. "ELLIE.!!" HUG. HUG. HUG. "How are you? I missed y----" Before Messer could finished his sentence, he saw a girl probably a first year peeking over something. What's she looking at? His eyes followed the girl' gaze. "Oh look its a bunny!" He went closer to inspect the fluffy creature but he accidentally brushed the 'peeking' girl on the process. "I'm SO sorry."Way to go Messer.
"I didn't---" Once again before he finished his sentence, something was distracting him once again. And its A HOUSE ELF..!!
o____________O
Quickly he secured himself behind Ellie and made a shoo-ing motion to the house elf.

Tay gave her friend a half smile to try to comfort her, "I wish that it was you. You two would be so cute together and you two deserve each other." Taylor sighed.

For someone who had recently lost her uncle, been betrayed by her cousin and fought a team of elite magical assassins, Jez was actually feeling pretty good. Not 'jumping for joy' good, but not 'bear in the cave' depressed either. Neutral was a good way of describing it. But she'd also unconsciously decided to go into lockdown as far as the whole summer was concerned. No thinking about it, no talking about it, no doing anything about it. She just wanted to forget. This was near impossible, of course, but Jez rarely spared a thought for that kind of thing.
She found Nate and Pam at the Ravenclaw table and sat down next to them. "Hey," she said, biting back a yawn. "Excited for the new term?" She couldn't quite remember if she'd seen them at all on the train - in fact, had she even been on the train? Jez shrugged inwardly, not really worried about her apparent lapse in memory.

Then Jez spotted the little house-elf near them, and all other thought went out of her head. It wanted to play catch? Yay! Jez caught the orb, diving a little into the table but otherwise doing it effortlessly. The thing felt familiar for some reason, although she couldn't remember why. "Heads up, Toddles!" she called to the elf, throwing it back gently enough so it wouldn't hurt if he didn't catch it, but firmly enough for it to still be a challenge.

"Gooood catch Yellow girl, what is you studensie doing at this table?" She was probably so excited to see Toddles. Toddles didn't blame her. She probably was stuck at home all summer too and wanted to play with the other studensies.
He took it back from her and frowned. Some of these studensies were NOT very good at sharing. "You've got to keep passing it, you wouldn't want to not share with Toddles ore the others would you?"
No she would not.

This blue girl knew what was going on.
"Yay! Ooh good catch misses!" Toddles was giggling and cheering as the girl fell to the floor to catch the Shiney. The orb then came flying back to him and he jumped off of the table, into the air to catch it.
"Alright blue studensies who else can play catch?!" He eyed them all micheviously with his big orb-like eyes.
And again the orb went sailing through the air. Fly Shiney, FLLLLY!

Grrr.
She'd need that for eating. Oh well. She'd just steal someone else's fork when the food came. That was acceptable right?
So the P stood for Prefect. SO she was in charge of rules at the school. Brilliant. Just brilliant Mika. "Oh my sister - her name was India Johanson" she smiled. "She had brown hair blue eyes - and we don't look anything alike" she nodded. It was true - only time they did was when Mika's first experience with Metamorphamagary happened and she woke up looking like her sister.
Ew.
When Louisa said food would be there once the speech happened she couldn't help but wait anxiously for the speech to happen. She wanted FOOD. Food sounded good savory food not sweets.
"You two want cookies?" She asked smiling innocently as she put the rainbow cookies on the table. What? It helped people not feel Hangry didn't it?

But then, some children who'd been raised in a magical family knew nothing about toasters or telephones, so balance seemed the best route. "I've more of a preference for the practical side of magic, or the theoretical magic that can be tested."
So not Divination, basically. Though, on the chance that the subject was Louisa's favourite, he didn't say it, "My uncle is a fairly prominent wizarding defense lawyer in London, so I've learned a great deal about wizarding law and history. Both my parents have their degrees in researching magical creatures, though my mother prefers researching non-magical animals, and the old woman who lives with us has a borderline-unhealthy obsession with herbology and potions, so she had no issue with teaching me."
He barely finished reciting the list before saying, "And no, I wouldn't like a cookie, but thank you anyway."
Louisa's throat went dry as Mika mentioned India Johanson. Wasn't she the crazy girl that partnered up with Joao in the dancing lesson? H-how? What did that mean? She wanted revenge from Joao coz he flirted with other girls and all that nonsense???? Joao was Louisa's girlfriend by then. The Prefect pursed her lips together and frowned just slightly.
"Okay, Mika, just forget about this whole revenge thing. I know Joao and he's not someone a firstie should mess with, okay? I'm only saying this because I don't want you to get hurt." And Joao Neves surely can hurt a kid without even flinching.
As for her cookie, Louisa was about to take some if Neal hadn't drawn her attention to the fact that those were coming from someone who thought spiders and slimy walls cool. However, the Prefect did take one slowly, "Did you make those?" She wasn't going to eat it until she was sure they were bought not homemade.
Leaving her cookie-holding hand on the table at the ready to munch on it as soon as the confirmation was given, Louisa turned her head to Nealan. She gradually forgot about her cookie as he talked, "Wow. You're lucky, you know. To have family members who are specialized in magic studies. My stepdad thinks I can start a storm with my hands."
Shrugging one shoulder she went on, "I got used to misunderstandings anyways. So you're an only child?" His whole family working on his education indicated this.

Louisa beamed up at Adam as he approached, and yes she kind of felt that someone lovely was close enough before she even saw his face. Chuckling as he sat down, she nodded, "Someone fired a cauldron cake at the Slytherin table." She grinned and slowly smirked as she added, "I had it under control." Looking at the chaotic Slytherin table full with hyper kids, she furrowed her eyebrows, "Not sure about that side of the hall, though." Heh.
Just as she was about to ask him something, the kid!elf showed up. Louisa's eyes suspiciously fell on him and she gasped and ducked when he threw the first time. Someone caught it and threw back. Then he threw again and yet someone else caught it and threw it back.
As for the third time throwing, Louisa had her wand in hand and she waved it quickly making the orb suspend in midair, "Take this house-elf!" And she thrust her wand forward making the orb to shoot fast back toward him. Smirking she added, "Hit someone with this and I'll turn it to a cactus." Mhhmm. Louisa wasn't fan of Toddles.

*GAAASSSSP!*
Jumping into the air again, using his long toes for leverage, Toddles caught the Shiney dispite the blue girl's rage and magic sticky thing and then looked back at her, his lip wibbling.
"You are not a nice studensie Miss. The red girl with that 'P' badge is much nicer." His eyes were brimming with tears but Toddles wouldn't let this mean girlie see him cry, nope. He was a strong House Elf!
"Now if you please, Toddles will play somewhere else now. I am mad at you blue girl." And with that he hopped to the edge of the table but stopped and looked back at her quickly.
"Toddles still thinks you're pretty though, misses." He squeaked out a giggle before running off again with the Orb.

"Well, I suppose it all depends on your training and personal abilities, though that does sound like a ridiculously advanced type of wandless magic. It's not as though it would be as simple as flexing your fingers and..." Yeah, it took him a minute to click on to what she meant. When he did, his words just sort of stopped, and he sat quietly for a few seconds.
After enough blank space had passed for him to deem a new topic appropriate, he answered, "Yes, I am. My parents were quite adamant on having a child, but neither of them has the time for a whole brood. I can't say I mind."
He'd heard quite enough bickering and horror stories between and about siblings to be fairly sure he didn't want any. Besides, weren't friends supposed to be like the siblings on chose for oneself? Without having the mess of competing for parents' affections?

Louisa froze in her place looking at the now sad kid!elf. She was not nice? That wasn't exactly news, and the red girl with 'P'. Mhhmm, thanks a lot Kurumi. Scoff. But the tears in his huge eyes were too big to be ignored, she pursed her lips together thinking about this ridiculous situation. Especially now that he called her pretty. D: Did he just mock her? Or was he seriously sweet talking her? coz it kind of worked Louisa's mouth twitched in one corner making a crooked small smile.
She sat back down. There, she wouldn't worry about injured kids. Where the heck was Eino anyways? He would've done it without making the kid!elf sad.

Blink blink. Was he... seriously considering that? Louisa just stared at him blankly and as soon as he realized her sarcasm, she awkwardly coughed and looked down at her empty plate. Welp, Em wasn't the only socially unaware Ravvie boy around. Good to know. Maybe Louisa should introduce them both? Only Nealan was confident and didn't live in a bubble like Emrys did.
A whole brood? Louisa couldn't help but giggle at that. "Your choice of words are so unique." Weird and funny, too. She glanced sideways at Mika, making sure the firstie wasn't aiming at someone. All was fine up till now.
"Siblings can be useful, though." She flashed him a smirk, "Especially if you were the oldest." Like she was. You get to boss them around and use them as spies on your mom and stepdad. The price would be a bunch of chocolate frogs, cheap. "Were they all Ravenclaws as well? Your family." And that old lady he mentioned.
"Sure." Was all Pam said in response to Jez. She was glad to finally be in a safe place, but she didn't like how the previous summer went. It was the worst summer she ever had. And that was mainly because she was forced to fight Jared. But she pushed her worries away as a house elf came and played catch with them. The ball never came her way, although if it did, she would have catched it. She smiled as the little one bounced away. "Bye then." she said with a wave.

It didn't seem like Louisa was going to make any comment about his failure to catch her sarcasm, past the little two-note cough in the direction of the table, so he abruptly ceased thinking about it.
"Well, seeing as I'm the only, I suppose I would be the eldest." He thought about it, trying to imagine having a younger child in the house. Perhaps because of what had happened recently, all he could picture was a younger sister who flung food and liked slime, or a younger brother who ran around bleeding with a demented owl on his head. "..."
...
"...I suppose I'll just take your word on that. As for my family... no. My father was in Hufflepuff, my mother in Gryffindor. Grunhilda's so old she probably knew the Hogwarts founders, but she was probably in Slytherin." He didn't really know all that much about the old woman's history, as she was senile and didn't talk about it much, but he and his uncle were fairly sure she was a hag.
"Like THIS!"
Mika couldn't help but giggle when she saw Toddles - he was so cute. "Hello Toddles" she called waving over to the adorable little house elf. Oooh he was playing catch!
CATCH! She bounced in her seat just a little bit. She was just excited. "I'll play" she called waving attention to herself.

The shiny orb was beautiful! She wanted to catch it and throw it at people - and play with it. Mika frowned he didn't see her. Little house elf didn't want to be friends with her or play with her at all.
"I can play catch" she called out feebly to the lovely little house elf. She really wanted to play with him.

Mika smiled at Louisa when she said no revenge on Joao Neves - if the prefect girl said he was evil she was going to beleive it. She was going to do what she said - right. Right. Maybe.
She looked up to Louisa as she asked if she made the cookies and chuckled. "No my mom made them - I'm not to allowed to use the oven at home" she admitted sheepishly. Well, it was all because she accidentally set a fire to the kitchen because of it.
"I want to be able to bake but mum says I'll burn the house down...something about not having a good enough of attention span" she frowned for a moemnt then she immidiately looked over to Toddles.

The noise of the Slytherin first years, the bellowing voices of their prefects and the house elf was just too much for him. Let alone a pounding headache that he has right now. He was determined to reach the other side of the hall to look for Ari or Rose or Zara, but suddenly stopped as his vision started spinning.
“What in Merlin’s beard…?” he thought to himself as he cradled his head. “No, I am not going to fall—not going to collapse…” The headache and the empty stomach weren’t helping him at all. He succumbed to it and decided to sit at the very end of the Ravenclaw table.
He closed his eyes and tried to refocus. “Ugh.” He held his head in his hands and propped both of his elbows on the table. It definitely was going to be a loooong night.
Realizing he was at the blue table, he's hoping that a certain Ravenclaw will NOT see him. She will definitely taunt him this time.

"My uncle was in Ravenclaw, though," he offered.

The moment he said Grunhilda's name, Louisa was throwing her head back laughing. Whaa..? That was a funny name. "Wow, Graa-n--hel--da?" She managed to contain her laugh, "You sure are a varied family, I see." Pause. "My wizard father was a Slytherin," she added bitterly. The man was a giant question mark in the sixteen years old's head so yeah.. she usually used that tone talking about him.
Straightening up a bit, she shifted so he could see the staff table without having to crane his neck. "Would you like me to do a summary about the professors over there?" She offered amusingly, "I've been here for five years and I know most of them by heart." Minus the new ones.

"Ooooh I was the ORB" she giggled.
When Mika saw Toddles leaving she just frowned. She wanted to play with him - she'd have to find him and play with him at another time. Because Toddles was amazing.
"Don't go" she called out in vain.
Nooooooo! D: Louisa was beyond anxious about Mika going all sporty with the kid!elf. Luckily the house-elf was leaving. Phew.
The girl's mom sure was a smart lady who knew her children quite enough. Louisa nodded seriously, "That's smart. Maybe when you're older." And saner? Who knew what kind of ingredients the girl would put into a recipe? However, Louisa did take a bite of the cookie in her hand half expecting herself to sputter.
But she didn't. It was actually quite good, she smiled brightly at the Ravenclaw. "That's pretty good! Thank you. Greetings to mom." and she winked at her. Maybe with that silly revenge idea out of Mika's head, the little girl wasn't so bad and Louisa might get along with her rather than watch on her.
"So are you excited for your first year at Hogwarts?" Talk about India for later coz Nealan was still here. Louisa didn't want to look betrayed in front of him.
Harvey smiled "I am guessing nobody cares?" he questioned. Well it sure seemed that way.. did he forgive her? "Forgive you for what? You havent done anything that requires forgiveness.. well you could scream and hug me all you want.. but that would probably end up with you getting a sore throat.. or you dont have to scream and hug me more your call.. cause I have no idea what you want me to forgive you for. " he said to her .. she hadnt done anything that required him to forgive her.
"Aha! So you don't forgive me, as you don't know what I'm on about!" Lilly continuously raised her eyebrow, still squeezing him. Maybe he was uncomfortable. Mwahaha! "For shouting at you and storming off, duhh!" What else would she be apologising for? She rolled her eyes. "Come on Harvey, I thought you were part Ravenclaw, as well as a Huffie!" She was about to shout and storm off again. Really, she needed to control her temper as well as this all the time.
That... made sense. Louisa's grin eased down to a small smile as she studied the boy closely. He wasn't of the funny sarcastic type, was he? And she thought she was serious. Wasn't the whole point of being in Ravenclaw to think extensively about everything? Mindful of her instruction, he refrained from thinking on that little mental query.
A small smile appeared on his face at her laughter, "Well, she likes to be called Gran, but so many people assume I mean she's my grandmother that it's easier to use her full name and take the consequences." At the sudden appearance of her bitter tone, he gave her shoulder an awkward pat pat. Whether she was bitter at her father specifically, or the Slytherin house in general, he couldn't fully tell.
At her offer, however, he leaned forward with definite interest, "Absolutely. Leave nothing out." It wasn't a demand, not really, but if she was willing to be a font of knowledge he would most definitely soak up whatever information she was willing to give.
Ellie barely had time to turn when her name was shouted before she was enveloped in a bear hug from her favorite little...second year. Holy Merlin, Messer was a second year now. "Hey, Messer," she said, wrapping her arms around the little guy. For as long as they could before he, too, took an interest in Bunny.
Needless to say, this was the widest she's grinned in at least 24 hours.
"It is," she nodded. A bunny. Her bunny.
Except Messer no longer seemed very interested in Bunny. And, why, exactly? Again, what could possibly be more worth looking at than her adorable new baby bunny, eh?
After giving the Hufflepuff a brief glance to follow where he was looking she saw the elf.....before it left all too quickly. "It's only the baby house elf," she pointed out. And trust her, he was a lot less menacing playing catch than he'd been two years ago.

Looking at the chaotic Slytherin table full with hyper kids, she furrowed her eyebrows, "Not sure about that side of the hall, though." Heh.
Adam raised his eyebrows slightly. "Wow...it's only the start of the term feast and already the Slytherins are getting on people's bad sides," Adam said with a chuckle. At the comment that she could handle it Adam gave her a smirk. "I have no doubts that you can handle just about anything this hyper firsties have to throw at you." As the words came out of his mouth Adam observed a first year Slytherin beginning to jump up and down on top of the Slytherin bench, laughing as he plate and food began sloshing everywhere because of his motion. "Although, I gotta admit that the Slytherin Prefect has definitely got their hands full with that one," Adam said with a slight shake of the head. Better Louisa handling these small children then him...Adam wasn't sure he'd have the patience required.
Before Adam could open his mouth to ask Louisa if she was enjoying being a Prefect so far, Adam felt the swoosh of some movement rather close to his ear, right before Louisa herself ducked. Adam could help but chuckle slightly as the ball went whizzing back over their heads, and Adam watched with a bemused expression as Louisa waved her wand, his eyebrows going up slightly as she flung the ball at the elf with quite a bit of force. "Not too shabby," Adam said with a little smile, giving Louisa a little nudge with his elbow. "I have a feeling you're going to be the Prefect they'll know not to mess with."

Mike nodded and bounced in her seat as Louisa spoke to her, she seemed nice. And she liked her moms cookies. Yay cookies were good.
Mika wanted the speach to happen - food was supposed to be good. Delicious. She glanced at the Staff table and felt her stomach grumble yet again. Maybe go to wherever he was kept and cuddle with him like he were a little puppy dog.

"I'd so call your Gran Grunhilda...its just cooler sounding than Gran - Gran is just so blah and Grunhilda is just like...amazing? Its like you can yell it out GrunHILDA or GRUNhilda see both sound different AWESOME!"

“Yes, that’s better.” Mordred thought as he made his way to the Gryffindor table.

Quite disappointed by the fact that she hadn’t been able to find her best friend, the fourth year made her way back towards her house table, quickly looking around to see who else was there. Glimpsing one more time towards the Gryffindor house table, the girl tried to spot her friend. Hmm. Just where could Ariadne be? Perhaps they would get to catch up sometime later that day? Mhm… hopefully.
As soon as she got close enough to the Ravenclaw house table, Gwendolyn noticed a whole lot of people there. And she knew some of them.‘Hello’, she gave a small smirk, greeting kind of everybody. Hang on- there were students she knew… Like- there was Louisa. Because she hadn’t talked to her in while, Gwen was sort of surprised she was able to recognize the other Ravenclaw. Oh. And she was a prefect! ‘Congratulations!’ Truth be told, she wasn’t sure who the other prefects were, nor if she knew any of the ones who recently got their shiny badges.
As she took a seat at the house table, the fourth year absently looked at the people there and noticed someone… erm…. Sick? Tired? Annoyed? At first, she thought of just avoiding meddling. ‘Are you all right?’, she heard herself asking. Nice going, Gwen ‘congratulated’ herself. One of those stupid questions. Totally pointless. Psh.

Louisa took a deep breath, an exaggerated one too before looking at the staff table and leaning closer to Neal to keep her voice slightly quiet. "SO.. there are more than one new professor this term, because I don't recognize some." Louisa's eyes fell on professor Magnus at the edge of the table, "The brunette lady sitting at the edge of the table is professor Isabelle Magnus, the transfiguration professor. Very easy-going and nice." Louisa glanced sideways at Nealan, "Gave us clow makeup lesson one. Very messy stuff." And not the girl's favorite but it was a good presentation of the lady and her subject.
Moving on, "Anyways, you see that quiet-looking lady eying the baby house elf like a hawk?" She was staring at Professor Lafay, "That's Hecate Lafay, the potions professor. Very professional one, she doesn't like carelessness or too happy people but isn't unfair either." Louisa eyed the woman for a second before she added, "The minister's soon-to-be wife too. Or maybe they're already married." OH! Speaking of, "The minister's daughter is the Slytherin Prefect, by the way. Not Lafay's daughter." Cue a sly smile from the Ravenclaw. Things were definitely interesting around Hogwarts and nope, she doesn't mean academically only. "Next is professor Cerulean, the muggle studies professor. She's quite interesting and her lessons are usually popular for their genuineness."
The curly black haired man came next, Louisa hesitated before starting, "The man with the dark hair is the new librarian. I don't know his name but I met him at the platform this morning." And he'd told her who he was. "And that my friend is professor Scabior." Louisa shot the man a sharp look, "History of Magic professor. Mess with anyone but don't even think about messing with Scabior. He's just..." evil, snakey, annoying. "... let's just say that it's a great thing he knows what he's teaching." And yes, Louisa thought his teaching was great. Minus the annoying character.
"The blonde lady sitting next to him is Bentley, the Herbology professor," Louisa smiled warmly as she looked at her, "She's very helpful and sweet. UNTIL," the girl's head snapped toward Nealan as she squinted her eyes creepily at him, "You do something to her precious plants." That was in a low, ominous voice. Back to her usual self, Louisa looked back at the woman, "I lost five points last term for using her pet plant as an item in my project." Wasima, beware of this Ravenclaw this term.

Staaare. Again.
Chatterbox. That was an understatement. Louisa nodded and smiled politely at the firstie, however. "You do have a lot to say, don't you?" It wasn't a problem at all. Louisa was going to make sure NOT to volunteer and sleep next to the girl in the dorm though. Heh.
"Tell me, Mika... was your sister Joao's girlfriend? And if yes, when exactly that was?" Because the Prefect juuust wanted to know a thing or two about this.
Probably.

D: WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN? Louisa's mouth twitched into a big smile as she skimmed over the newly grown-up kid. "Hey there! Long time no see." Like.. a year or more. "Thank you." Err... wasn't she supposed to like.. chat with her or something.
Watching the girl take a seat across from where Louisa sat, the Prefect started, "Forgive me for asking but when did you outgrow first year?" GRIN. See? Louisa was actually in a good mood.
