The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
Ellie turned her head at the voice to see the dark haired girl. Younger, she seemed. Overly excited, she seemed. First year, she seemed not. Transfer, perhaps?
She was quiet for an awkward moment as she sized the girl up. Tried to place the face, because who knows, she might have always been coming here and Ellie just never noticed her. There were those people who always seemed happy to be locked in an old castle, forced to study and do work, for nine months. "No," she said softly, "No...I'm not waiting for...anyone." So, yes, the brunette could sit if she wanted to. The Captain even managed a small smile.
One which grew, not in size, but in how genuine it was, when Bunny was mentioned. "Yeah," she answered, with a surprisingly happy tone. Getting Bunny was definitely a good idea. Good distraction.
...She was staring.
Anna fidgeted with her shirt, waiting for the girl to say something. When she finally did, Anna sighed in relief and took a seat next to the girl on the bench. "Thanks," was all she said. And just like that, it seemed that any confidence she had had was gone.
But they were talking about bunnies! That was something, at least, that she could relate to. "That's so great," she said, trying to look into the pet carrier without leaning too far into the girl's personal bubble. "I have two bunnies. At home." Sadly. She had her cat here at Hogwarts, and couldn't bring anything else.
Leaning away from the carrier, Anna looked around. And saw Milton. How had she missed him before?! She eyed him for a second before looking away again. He was in Ravenclaw, too. Why? What had she done to deserve him in the same house as her? She was a good person!
Marie looked up at Max, he looked different. Emotionally that is. "Hey Max, how are you doing?" she whispered.

Ravenclaw. Of course. Even though the sorting hat said he would do well in Slytherin, the darn thing put him in Ravenclaw.
No, Ravenclaw itself wasn't horrible, but the fact that Anna, his evil step-sister, was in that house made it more horrible. He could see her now. Apparently, she was already making friends. Well, good for her. SARCASM.
Milton just wanted to go home. But that obviously, wasn't going to happen anytime soon, so he would just have to settle for sitting at the table full of blue robes and glare at anyone who looked worthy. Which was everyone.
And of course, the only empty seats were near Annalee and her new friend. And was that a bunny in that cage? On the table?! How unsanitary!
More glaring!

Nod. She was welcome.
Wait.
SHE had bunnies, TOO?! "You do?!" Ellie wanted to ask why she didn't bring them, but if her suspicions about the girl being a transfer were correct, she might have been too unsure to bring a pet that wasn't on the list Tate sends out. "What do they look like?" Surely they weren't as cute as her bunny was. But they were still probably really cute.
"I think she's a bit scared," she said, tilting her head to her side as she opened the carrier door for the brunette to get a better look, "The compartment on the train was wicked loud. I don't think she liked it." Shame, too, the Prefect compartment was usually pretty mellow.
Walnut will forever be blamed for everything.
"You in Ravenclaw?" Cause if she was, Ellie'd totally let her get a better look at Bunny once they were in the Common Room.
But when she turned her gaze from Bunny to the girl, the girl's gaze was no longer on Bunny. And why not? Hmmmmmmm? What was so much more interesting and more worth looking at than her adorable baby bunny, huh?? So, of course, Ellie followed her gaze to a boy sitting not too far away. "You know him?" she asked, wiggling her fingers at the boy.
He could be less antisocial, you know, and join them. Distractions were extremely welcome to the Captain tonight.

Mika wasn't the brightest first year in the group. In fact she didn't see ANY first years - sure there was a guy who got sorted but he wasn't a first year. Was there anyone her age here? She wondered gulping in fear.
The startled first year played with her spoon for a minute. What was it like peter pan? Imagine the food is real and all of a sudden it is? She raised an eyebrow and sighed.
Alright.
She was so going to look to see who was in her house - maybe that nice bouncy girl from the train was here? She wondered excitedly.
The girl began to hum as she sat there. She was humming an odd tune something she heard years before on an old - archaic even, muggle program. The theme song to 'The Twilight Zone'.

Indy had been looking forward to the feast for the whole entire train journey. Sure she'd had a mini feast with Alec and all their sweets on the train, but she was very much looking forward to eating all the feast. And she'd missed sitting at the ravenclaw table. She'd missed school in general. So here she was. Sat at the feast. She was hoping that the food would appear soon. Because she was really hungry, even though she had eaten lots of sweets. The journey had been long so that was probably why she was so hungry.
So comee on Tate. Give the speech already. Pink Ted was in her lap. She wasn't let him going anywhere that she didn't go. She was not losing or leaving her favorite teddy behind anywhere. The girl smiled though. She was very happy to be back at school.

Damon walked back over, sitting across from Taylor, back to his old self. Thank heavens... He hated the red hair now more than ever, "Told you I'd be back." He said with a kind smile. Seeing her again made him feel even more nervous. In just an hour or so he will tell her how he truly felt about her.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Daichi had never been to the Ravenclaw table before. Now that he thought about it , he had never been to any of the other house table during a start of term feast. He had always had people walking to him at the Snake table or he only talked to his fellow house mates.
So why was he here? Well, because he wanted to see someone. Daichi did not know why or how but he kept having these feelings that he wanted to see the girl he had met in Floreans and later in the train. It was strange.
His arm was tightly wrapped around Mr.Duckles as he checked the blue table and finally saw who he was looking for. He sneaked up behind Indy and smiled as he saw Pink Ted on her lap. "Guess whooo~!" he said in a singing voice and obscured her vision with his hands.

Oooh. Oooh. She couldn't see! Someone was holding their hands over his eyes. Indy giggled, her hands letting go off Pink Ted. She could kind of recognise the voice. Really recognised the voice. But it was nice. Hopefully this would mean that someone would come and talk to her. She didn't know where Spike or Beezus were. So she was kind of alone. Not really alone, because she did have more friends at Hogwarts. But Beezus was her best friend and she liked talking to her.
But now. She needed to decide who this was. She really did recognise the voice. Indy giggled, her hands trying to pry the hands away from her face. She'd heard this voice earlier today. When she was on the train. Mmm. She knew who it was. "Daichi..." The third year giggled, hoping that he'd take his hands away from her eyes so that she could see. She was happy that Daichi had come to see her. That would be fun.
Although...she was kind of hoping that it was Daichi. Because it if wasn't it might have been a little bit embarrassing.

His plushed duck tucked under his arm and his hands still obscuring Indy's eyes the Slytherin raised an eyebrow when she giggled. Must be a girls thing. He watched as she let go of Pink Ted and as she tried to pry his hands away with her own Daichi's cheeks flushed a little as he realised that she was basically holding his hand. Even if she wanted to pry his hands of to see who he was.
But the snake would not let her win until she guessed who he was. After hearing his name followed by another giggle he let go of her and jumped down beside her on the bench, placing his duck on the table. "Yep, you're good!" He said as he pushed his glasses up and smiled at her. "So this is the Ravenclaw table huh?" the Snake looked around the table and the people on it. Mweh he still thought the Slytherin table was better the only thing missing at that table was Indy..
WHAT WAS HE THINKING?!
He turned his eyes towards the staff table for the first time and it was then that he noticed something. "Hey..where is Professor Roslund?" he asked as he nudged Indy in her side.

Not being able to see what pretty frustrating, and this person was really not letting her pry their hands from her eyes. She did start to figure that she was kind of holding who evers hands these were. Hehe. She was holding someones hand. Hopefully it would be someone that she knew because it would be kind of awkward if she didn't. But then she was pretty sure that someone she didn't know wouldn't really greet her like this. She hoped not anyway. Because that would just be really weird. Sure Indy was a bit weird, but she didnt go round greeting people by covering up their eyes. So she hoped that other people wouldn't either.
She was pretty positive it was Daichi though. She recognised her friends voice. "Yaaay." She giggled, beaming at her friend. And he'd brought Mr Duckles too. "Hi Mr duckles." Indy beamed, looking at the plush toy for a few more moments before she turned to look at Daichi again. "It is!" She nodded with a big big smile. "It's it just awesome?" Of course it was. She was here of course, but she wasn't about to tell her friend that. She wasn't really that vain. She wasn't vain at all really.
Oooh. She turned her head to the staff table as he spoke. Daichi was right. The astronomy teacher wasn't there! "Nobodies at his seat either...." She mused, turning back to Daichi and looking confused. "Professor Schirmer isn't there either..." Maybe they'd run off together?

Daichi chuckled after hearing Indy's cheerful yaaay. This was why he liked her. She was bubbly like him and understood why stuffed animals were important. He held on to Mr.Duckles wing and flapped it up and down in greeting "Hiiii Indy and Pink Ted~!" he giggled, yes giggled , boys giggle too.
The charms Professor wasn't there either? He checked the table again and sure enough the seat where usually Professor Schirmer sat was now taken by a different woman. "i wonder how the new Professors are going to be like..." He said with a slight frown on his face. The Slytherin really liked Roslund as a teacher and if he was gone for real he did not like it.

Indy beamed. It was finally so nice to have someone who got why she liked teddies so much. Aww. That was cute. She giggled, grinning at him. She was glad that he had come over now. She was having lots of fun. Indy really had no idea why she had been scared of Slytherins before, because Daichi was so nice. Which totally meant other Slytherins were going to be nice. She hoped so. Maybe she'd go meet other snakes were Daichi and he could look after her if they were not.
oh. Indy hoped that the new staff were nice too. Indy shrugged. "I hope so too..." Because it wouldn't be too good that they were really mean. Indy thought for a couple of seconds. "I hope Roslund is here...." Because he was one of her favorite teachers. He couldn't just not be there.

After the rather unsettling events of the train ride, Neal took great care to watch where Oakey was seated. There was something discomforting about a boy who walked around with a savage owl on his head and was seemingly oblivious to blood running down his face. And then, of course, there was the whole business of the handshake. And Oakey blowing his nose with the handkerchief instead of using it to clean up his face. Sufficed to say that Neal was privately relieved he and the owl boy were in different houses. Plus, the one Ravenclaw he'd met so far seemed quiet, introspective, and smart; if they were all so able to entertain themselves, he was in for quite the good time indeed.
For now, he was quite content to take a seat at the Ravenclaw table and look around at the architecture and decor. Though the obvious answer was magic, he still found himself wondering how the floating candles were prevented from dripping hot wax on everyone. Perhaps they were some of those everlasting candles he'd seen in the joke shop. Why they would classify as a joke, however, he wasn't entirely sure.
"HARVEY! HARVEY! WHERE ARE YOU HARVEY?" Lilly shouted when she reached the Ravenclaw table. She had decided to apologise, because Lilly Deluise was NOT a coward. Not that anybody had called her one, or anything. Her blue eyes darted around the table in front of her. Harvey must be there SOMEWHERE. Harvey deserved a hug from her. A BIG hug, because hugs made it all go away. It seemed like nobody ever hugged her, as all her troubles were always there, wherever she was and how happy she was at the time. Which was not usually very happy.
"HARVEY!" Lilly repeated. She wasn't going to give up until she got that hug and apologised, and he forgave her. If he didn't, then she would shout more and hug tighter and apologise more until he did. She was not afraid to do that. Not at alll. In fact, that would be quite fun. But she still wanted him to forgive her. Was that Harvey at the end of the table? It could be, easily. She ran towards the boy. Was it him?

Harvey heard his name being screamed out quite loudly.. soon all the professors may come running wondering what was going on.. so he looked for the source of the yelling.. and he got up just as she got to him "Lilly!! You ok? whats with screaming out my name.. people might think there is something wrong.. There isnt anything wrong is there?" he asked a little worried once she was done yelling out his name.. she seems to bit in a little bit of a better mood than when I had seen her last.. so thats good.

Louisa plopped down randomly on the bench next to a random someone. This whole 'pay close attention to firsties' thing was new to her. And out of character honestly, because she'd never paid any attention to anyone unless they were peculiar or friends. This badge was probably magical -see the joke? Good.
.... why was this boy staring up at the non-existent ceiling? Resting her chin on her palm, she followed his gaze. "It's like we're outside." The night sky above them and all, "It always mesmerized me in my first year." Which was five years ago. She looked down at him and stared for a moment thoughtfully. His face wasn't familiar at all.

Maybe he was one of the new transferred students?
After taking a moment to send a strongly disapproving look at the girl shrieking for this 'Harvey' character (who did that, anyway?), Neal had gone back to admiring his surroundings.
It was then that a thump on the bench alerted him to someone sitting beside him, and from her rather graceless descent he thought for a moment it was the shrieker. But, no, she seemed much more non-confrontational than that other girl, and greeted him in a way similar to the girl from the joke shop; a way that wasn't really a greeting at all. Friendly, but unobtrusive. He sort of liked it.
"It's quite a beautiful piece of spellwork." Especially since it was a nice night outside. If the ceiling always reflected the weather, he could imagine it being somewhat depressing on an overcast day. "Have they done this with any other parts of the castle?"

Louisa's mouth twitched into a slow smile as the boy admired the spellwork. And then asked a question. Her eyes narrowing thoughtfully at him, "You're new here, aren't you?" She scooted closer, curious to actually meet the boy. "I'm Louisa Carter, sixth year." Her badge was totally forgotten by this point, she simply extended her hand for a shake. See?! Dating Adam was changing her from a total anti-social to semi-social. Kudos to the Gryffindor.
"No. This is the only hall with such a ceiling. The spellwork, however, is fascinating everywhere around the castle. So is the architectural design." The sixteen years old folded her arms on the table then and glanced around at the staff table, there were a few new professors. And that man who she'd met at the platform, the librarian he'd said?
Back to the boy next to her, "Welcome to Ravenclaw, by the way. It's the most interesting house of all." She smirked after letting out a quiet chuckle.
Tay smiled in delight when DAmon came back. She hugged him and kissed his cheek. "Hey!"
