The Ravenclaw common room is a wide, circular room at the top of the seventh floor. Graceful arched windows punctuate the walls, which are hung with blue-and-bronze silks. During the day, Ravenclaws have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Overhead, the ceiling is domed and painted with stars, which are echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There are tables, chairs, and bookcases, and in a niche opposite the door stands a tall statue of white marble: Rowena Ravenclaw. A delicate-looking circlet has been reproduced in marble on her head with the tiny words 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure' etched into the diadem. The statue stands beside a door that leads up to the dormitories above.
Come in, have a seat and make new friends. Welcome to Ravenclaw!
Well something was bothering Elliot, that was as obvious as Ravenclaw's colors. But the fact that she wasn't saying what was bothering her, made Pam feel that she really didn't want to talk about it. So she just left it alone. For now. "I'm Pam." She gave a small wave/salute in hello. Pam looked down at her leg, when Elliot did. Telling Elliot the whole truth would get this girl in trouble. But she wasn't about to lie. She didn't have the energy for that. So she kept it to a 'need to know' basis. "I was in the Room of Requirement, blowing off some steem, and I blasted a wooden dummy. One of the shards cut open my leg."
Pam. Simple name, plain, really. "Pleasure is yours," she nodded, smirking the whole time. Elliot shifted her position and blinked a few times, wanting to know when she would get the picture back...this Pam girl couldn't keep it...not that Elliot cared much.
"The room of requirement? I have never been before! But I've heard about it...everytime I try to go, though, it doesn't work...I musn't do it right..." she said casually before she addressed the next part. Blowing off steam..."You must have been really angry...hmm..." Elliot raised an eyebrow curiously. "No harm in getting out anger..." Definitely not the whole story...looks like Elliot wasn't the only one not telling the whole truth.

Pam looked down at her hand for a moment, realizing she still had the picture. "Do you want this back?" There was no way she was keeping a photo of a baby that she didn't even know. "Or you could've been in the wrong spot. Many of the corridors in that hallway look the same. I always go to the wrong spot." It always took her a few tries before she could get into the Room. It was just because she got lost all the time. "Either that or you may not really have a need for it." Angry? Maybe. "I'd rather let out my anger, then keep it in." She said with a small chuckle. Which seemed to have come out of nowhere.

Elliot shrugged but held out her hand so that Pam could give it back. The little Darius Jr. in the picture squirmed around, still sleeping. "By the time I get home for summer he's going to look different..." she mused, a bit sadly. No problem, though. She would just ask for a picture every month.
And she shouldn't care about the little brat, either!
hmm..."Perhaps. It would be nice to go to a place to be alone. One can never have enough alone time...so hard to come by around here.." she was glancing out the window, a far away look in her eyes. Somewhere to go when she wanted nothing more than to cry. Because Elliot NEVER cried. It showed signs of weakness...and someone might SEE her. No, she couldn't have that! "You'll have to show me one day..." she said, again sounding a bit dreamy.
Then she snapped back. oops. "Oh, er wha-" angry? What had they been talking about again? OH yeah..."I bottle mine up. Save it for when I need it. like a secret weapon," she smirked at this, an evil glint in her eyes...heehee...

Vindictus saw where Louisa was pointing and took a few steps towards Aspen. "Ms. Odessa, might I have a word with you?" he asked sternly.
Now to see if she had the Ravenclaw intelligence to actually get off her bum and make her way over to talk to him.
Aspen kept her head down, her hair fallen loose and keeping her expression mostly hidden from all three Ravenclaws looking at her. She had a good feeling she was about to learn another lesson in adults aren't awesome after all, or AAAAA. A to the fifth. Yeah.
She hated the Head of House's question. A word? A single word? What if she said no? What then? Did she REALLY have the option of saying no? Why couldn't people just say what they mean?
"Since you made a special trip just to see me," apparently, Aspen supposed she could oblige. "Though Cornelius and I were about to turn in for the night."
Elliot shrugged but held out her hand so that Pam could give it back. The little Darius Jr. in the picture squirmed around, still sleeping. "By the time I get home for summer he's going to look different..." she mused, a bit sadly. No problem, though. She would just ask for a picture every month.

Pam just gave her an odd look as she went in and out of a daze. "I'll be happy to show you." She said. She wasn't sure now would be a good time. She only barely got into the commons without getting caught. She didn't realize what time it was in there, and when she came out, it was a little later then she had wanted.
Hmm, a secret weapon? That could come in handy. "That can be a good idea. But if you don't let it out sooner or later, it could backfire, and you could turn into a total jerk. People could start hating you." She sort of had an experience with this. She used to keep all of her emotions inside, just to keep her appearance in tact. It was one of the hardest years she had so far. Trying to keep her Meta powers in tact was something that she mastered, but for a price.

"ONe day, when I'm not so distracted, perhaps you can," she shot the girl a smirk, her eyes alight. Elliot was very distracted right now...maybe that's why she was being much nicer than usual. "Maybe next week..it's my birthday...I'll be fourteen..." she sounded so old, even to herself. Fourteen. Just much cooler than thirteen...
Elliot laughed at her next statement. "I am a total jerk already, sweetheart, so no worried there. You're actually lucky I'm being so nice right now..." She paused, staring casually at Pam for a second before going on. "And as for people hating me, people always will. I don't care. Haters are always going to hate," she said wisely. She grinned. Haters gone' hate. Heehee. It was something her father always said...don't EVER change for anyone...people will always hate you. you just have to find the right people who will accept you and all your faults. And Elliot definitely lived by this..."You know, you shouldn't care what people think.." she told her. Pam, though Elliot had just met her, seemed like the type that wouldn't care...but what she had just said...

Once Elliot called her 'sweetheart' she realized how much this girl actually irritated her. She wasn't sure she wanted to call this little coversation 'lucky', but she kept her mouth shut. She didn't want to cause any arguments to erupt. "I don't care what others think." Honestly, she had enough people wanting her dead to last her a life time. If she cared what others think, she would become really paranoid that everyone was out to get her. And she didn't need to think that. "You're right. There's always someone out there who will hate you." She looked out the window, staring at nothing but the night sky. She started wondering if 'those guys' were out there, planning their next move. Getting ready to pounce as soon as they got out of school for the summer.

Darkness in this one... Elliot mused to herself, still looking vividly at the girl. It was something about Pam's eyes. Dark, brooding. Elliot saw emotions, fluttering, but Pam was not letting them loose. Elliot wasn't the only one hiding her emotions.
"Good," she said with a nod. And yes, Elliot was ALWAYS right. So no surprise there...
The blonde looked out the window as Pam did...it was dark outside. She then glanced back at Pam...who seemed to be lost in her own mind. Elliot felt a sudden urge to know what was going on inside the girl's head...fleeting, almost, for a second later she didn't care. But the girl looked so sad. Not even sad, just...lost. Elliot was a lot of things, at the moment, like angry, depressed...but lost was not one of them.
"Are you lost, Pam?" she asked, a bit curious. The question was under interpretation...it could either be taken as a really deep question...or as a simple casual question. Hmm.

Pam was so into her thoughts, that she almost didn't hear Elliot's question. She looked at her for a moment, contemplating the question. Lost? Did she mean lost in the physical sense? No, probably not. She knew where she was right now. Maybe the mental sense? Well, she was sort of lost there. But telling her the details ment a lot more pain then it was worth. "Yea, I guess you could say that." She said with a small nod.

Elliot waited patiently for the girl to respond. Pam. Her name was pam. She needed to remember that. she saw Pam thinking...hmm. Maybe Elliot had asked something she shouldn't have, though Elliot hadn't thought anything wrong with her question. Nothing at all weird about it, either, if you saw Pam's face...
"I hope you get un-lost, then, Pam," she said with a small pat on the girl's shoulder. She seemed so sad. Though Elliot wasn't usually this nice. "What's your last name, Pam?" she asked, hit with a sudden curiosity. Elliot liked to know people's surnames...

Pam nodded at Elliot's comment to become un-lost. She hoped so too. But she figured that could take a long time, and she was sure someone would get to her before then. Although she didn't like to think about that, she was almost positive that that's what was going to happen.
She looked over at Elliot. "Barstow." She said confidently. That was one of the things she wasn't lost on. She was, is, and always will be a Barstow. It was something she was proud of, and another thing that kept her close to her parents. Which she really didn't have a lot of these days.

"Why are you lost, Pam, if you don't mind my asking?" she asked curiously, tilting her head to the side. It had gotten to the best of her, her curiosity. It was overflowing...

Aurelie always savored the last step of a staircase before you reached the top or bottom. She didn't know why, but it was so exciting! She clattered down the stairs that led to the dormitories, and stopped right before she reached the bottom. Aurelie first lowered her right foot, and then her left, onto the midnight floor of the common room. She smiled a little as the moment passed. It was a strange little ritual, but it was hers.
That done, Aurelie bounced over to her favorite chair - empty, for once. (Hooray!) It was relatively close to the fire, so she could feel its warmth in colder months but she wasn't scorched. Right now, though, Aurelie loved the chair for another reason: its proximity to the window. She flumped down into it, sideways: her legs slung over one of the arms, her back resting against the other. Past her toes, which she wiggled as her gaze fell on them, Aurelie could see the mountains. She admired their calm periwinkle presence. When it came to mountains, rivers, forests...she could look forever and practically live off the feeling that arose in her tummy when she saw such beauty. A smile crept over her face.

The door to the common room opened and Kana entered, shutting it gently behind her. It had been a long, long day... very long. But it had been a good day, so she smiled at the familliar faces of her housemates.
The fifth year wore her usual grey hoodie, with the Ravenclaw emblem on the back, and dark jeans. But, as always, her bright red hair was what one would first see if they looked in her direction.
Kanalynne set her beige shoulder bag down by her favorite armchair and dashed upstairs, as she always did. A moment later, she returned, her ferret Caboodles poking his head out of the pocket of her hoodie. She hated to do it, but she had to keep him in his cage while she was away. Caboodles was notorious for getting into trouble and hiding and STEALING... But, every day, she let him out just as soon as she could.
The girl sat down in her armchair and Caboodles dashed out of her pocket and down into her bag. The sides of it began to ripple and a muffled trilling noise could be heard from inside as the ferret snooped around inside her bag, probably looking for something to chew on or steal.
Kana pulled out her Transfiguration notebook. It was probably her best subject, and therefore the easiest homework to do...

Blair was still wondering HOW she had managed that spell on that guy when she walked into the common room that day. Hm, she'd just waved her arm and said the one thing that came to mind, something she had heard another student talking about. Well it did the trick of helping him, not to mention be super cool, but hm. Could she do it again? Probably not she told herself as she flopped down into a chair, kicking her feet up as she went.
She'd not seen the other student across from her until her feet made contact with her legs and even then she really was too tired to jump back up and say her sorry's. She was tired.
"Oh sorry" She said looking at the girl across from her, older student? and searched in her bag for her recent magazine ready to fall into bed already and it was only about 6. Argh.

Aurelie jumped as something brushed against her legs and interrupted her thoughts. She instinctively flinched away, pulling her legs away from the obtrusion in shock. Funny how a sudden interruption can make you forget entirely what you were thinking about. Aurelie cast her mind around, trying to recall her train of thought even as she turned her head to see what had hit her. She laughed as she beheld a pair of feet.
Attached to those feet was a girl, who had slung her body into a chair in a position very similar to the way Aurelie had, only minutes before. "Oh, that's all right!" she said in response to the stranger's muttered apology. Aurelie pushed herself into a more upright sitting position in an attempt to behold this newcomer's face. She had abandoned the effort of trying to remember what she was thinking about before this girl had come along. A potential conversation was much more interesting anyway!
Aurelie looked at the girl and judged the direction in which the girl's body was angled. She couldn't discern anything in particular, so the girl probably didn have any intentions of looking at the room or outside the window.... Which made even more sense as Aurelie noticed the magazines clutched in the girl's arms. "Nothing like relaxing in here wih a good read after a long day!" she said, cheerfully nodding towards the magazines.

"Listen to me very carefully," Vindictus said sternly. "You will not attempt to hex another member of Ravenclaw House while you are in school. In fact, you shouldn't be hexing anyone at school unless you're in DADA and it's part of the lesson . . . or if someone attacks you first and then it's okay because you were defending yourself." He took a deep breath. "Do you understand?"

Feeling rather lazy for the entire span of her day, Erin decided to relax in her common room. She spent almost her entire day waiting for Oakey Gunter's owl at the lake and receive his mission accomplishments. To her disappointment, not even a 'ho' or a 'ha' came. She needed to make sure that the Hufflepuff would pay for this.
As she entered the Ravenclaw common room, she saw several people hanging around. Her eyes darted to an empty seat beside the new girl who called her weird but still feeling that unknown connection towards her. She plastered a smile on her face and attempted to talk to Bee, just to know that she'd already had a company. Without asking for questions, Erin interrupted the two's conversation and plopped down the empty chair. "Hi Bee! Hi, you," Erin greeted the older girl.
Elliot raised an eyebrow. "Barstow..." hmm. Didn't ring a bell, but that didn't matter. Elliot wondered if she was pureblood... she tried not to set much store by it, but she couldn't help it. It was how she had been raised.
"Why are you lost, Pam, if you don't mind my asking?" she asked curiously, tilting her head to the side. It had gotten to the best of her, her curiosity. It was overflowing...
Pam shook her head as the inevitable question arose. She wasn't going to let this girl know that her entire summer has been her and her friends hiding in fear. And the details would get her in trouble. She looked down at the picture, thinking about a small little boy, wrapped up in blankets, sleeping soundly. Then she thought of her answer. "Tell me, Elliot. Do you love your brother?"

Them and there fashion, stories etc etc. Bee burrowed lower into the warm chair that was warmed by the fire near by and began to lose all focus on the world around her. Well that happened whenever she read a book or magazine.
Suddenly however she was brought back by a familiar voice as the owner jumped in the chair beside her. Oh joy it's the weird girl, Bee thought looking up. Smile. "....Erin, hai" She said slowly unsure if she got the name right. Without looking down she closed her magazine and shoved it back into her bag. You know to be safe.

Should she repeat her remark? It really wasn't worth it. And anyway, what if this girl WAS ignoring her on purpose? Aurelie didn't want to annoy her...
Aurelie probably would have stewed in her indecision for the rest of the day, had a third girl not joined them. She glanced at... Bee? Is that what this new newcomer had said? What an odd name.
Aurelie smiled at the girl who wasn't Bee. She was about to introduce herself when the girl who had kicked her - Bee - spoke. She cast a short sidelong glance and noticed that she had put away her magazine. Aurelie returned her attention to the other girl. "Is it Erin?" she asked. She was pretty sure that's what Bee had just said. "I'm Aurelie! Hi!" she said brightly, waving a hand.
Blair barely hear the older student talk to her when she spoke, as she was far to interested in what she was reading. Muggles, Oh how she loved them.

Erin made her way to Blair's side and her name being pronounced in a hesitant manner. Was she some kind of unsure about Erin's name? But anyways, she did utter the right word. As Erin eyed the older Ravenclaw, she noticed the instant reflex of Bee tucking her magazines into her bag. What? She didn't want to share it to Erin? That slightly made her think of ways to get closer to this girl. She's mysterious and weird to Erin. And Erin, being the inquisitive type, she wanted to know everything. She wanted to know Bee and what she's up to. "What's up?" She asked like they already knew each other for a long time. Which was weird.
And then, she heard the older Ravenclaw spoke, "Yes, I'm Erin," she responded. "Nice to meet you Aurelie," Erin smiled as she waved her hand too to the older girl. "So, you two know each other?" They were sitting so close, they could be friends.
After making herself comfortable in one of the armchairs, the fourth year started flipping the pages of the book she was holding in her hands. She had left the library together with a friend a few moments ago, and since she had no plans made for until later that day, the Ravenclaw decided to spend some time around the Common Room. Hmm. Now where is it…?, she asked herself as her eyes continued to scan the pages of the book.
Finally.
Gwendolyn stopped as she noticed the title she had been looking for. Before beginning to read, the fourth year gave a quick look around to see if there was anyone she knew around the Common Room. Hmm. She was able to spot Erin, but since the girl was already talking to someone, Gwen decided not to bother her. Mehh. They could catch up some other time. And it seemed like everyone was preoccupied with something, so Gwen decided to return to her book.
When Elliot fished for an answer, she usually didn't want another question for it. It was annoying. But the girl had asked a very curious question indeed. Elliot was being nosy, she knew it, but hey...it's not crime, is it?
Do you love your brother? Odd, really.
Elliot shrugged, her face hardening. "No. I only saw him for about a week, then came back here and haven't seen him in a month. Love isn't easy for me...I don;t even like my own mother. Hopefully..with time, it will come.." she replied, her eyes stony.
Then, she raised her eyebrows. "Why?" THat, too, was a rather personal question.

Elliot returned from the lake...her tea had gone quite well. Holding her half-full teacup in one hand, she sauntered into the common room lazily. TOday she felt lazy. Which was weird; Elliot never felt lazy. Hmph.
She saw a blonde sitting in her usual chair...Elliot turned to find another chair, but did a double take...it was the nice blonde...Gwen was her name! She smirked, plopped down in a chair across from her. "Hello...Gwen. We do meet again..." she took a sip of her tea from her teacup...and stared at Gwen curiously.

Pam looked at Elliot, a scared look in her eyes. How can one say that answering this girl's question meant causing her and her family pain? That she would never see her mother long enough to love her mother, or new brother. That little boy wouldn't be able to know his big sister. No, Pam couldn't tell this girl any of that. Instead she kept it simple. "Elliot. Me telling you why I am lost, will put you onto the same twisted path." she pulled her knees up to her chest, hoping this girl wouldn't try to know what was going on. Pam, little to Elliot's knowledge, was keeping her safe. Her and her family. Pam knew, from expierience, that you don't realize how much one loved someone until they were gone.
