Evelyn looked away for a moment, a huge smile on her face. Heh. She didn't know why but she found his allergy to hugs or whatever it was..endearing.

"Eddy?" Evelyn's eyes widened when she saw him open his arms and just stand there.. looking rather ridiculous. HUH!? She had to bite her lip from laughing. And, he wrapped his arms around her.. although he'd left some distance between them which made the hug extremely awkward. With a small sigh, she closed the distance between them and wrapped her arms around him for a moment before she pulled away.

"See? That's a hug." Evelyn smiled up at him for a moment. Anyway. Moving on. "I'd like to see my present now." The excitement was clearly visible on her face.. but she loved surprises. C'mon. Who didn't!?

Edric's expressions gave it all away - he was completely weirded out by what was going on. I mean, seriously, did people really need to do this sort of thing? This hugging business? It seemed way too intimate and unnecessary if it wasn't going to be followed a good snogging session.

…What? He was a teenage boy.

Anyway.
As Evelyn announced that that was a hug, Edric didn't seem impressed. He was also a little annoyed that he couldn't get it right in the first try; he was kind of used to being a fast learner. Except, y'know, when it came to people. That subject he always failed at.

When Evelyn demanded to see her present once more, the Gryffindor gave her a small smile. "Only if you promise there will be no more hugs involved." He raised his eyebrows slightly at her before walking off.

Then he realized he'd kind of left Evelyn behind. Manners, Barlow! Right! Right.
Edric stopped abruptly and turned around, taking a couple steps back to the girl he'd just kind of abandoned in the middle of the corridor, and took her hand. Then he just dragged her off the rest of the way 'cause Eddy forgot one of his steps usually equaled two steps for a normal person who didn't speed-walk or share his height.

Yes. Mr. Barlow was a real, considerate gentleman.

Evelyn raised an eyebrow when she noticed the expression on his face. How could anyone be so creeped out by hugs? And.. how could he NOT like her hug? People liked her hugs.. UGH. This boy just frustrated the heck out of her. And, to just get back at him.. she stepped forward and gave the boy another hug. Heh.

Promise? Hm. "Well, okay. I promise there won't be any hugs involved." She wasn't promising anything else though. Evil smirk.

Evelyn raised her eyebrows when she watched him stride down the corridor.. and she was about to follow Eddy when she watched him come back for her, take her hand and literally drag her down the corridor. "Hey, what's the hurry?" Evelyn complained. She tried to pull him back but.. that didn't really work. "Slow down, Eddy."
