Lewis just stared at Evelyn for a moment, blinking quite rapidly. Oh crap. She actually thought SHE had done something wrong. "N-no. Not at all." Seriously, he seemed to be really really good at making people uncomfortable around him without good reason. What was wrong with him?! "You didn't do anything wrong." There no stutter and he even reached out to pat her shoulder.

Because that didn't make things awkward again or anything.

Buuuuuut back to Keefer. "I think it just started." Lewis pointed out with a nod towards the hat which was surrounded by quite a large number of new students. Promising first years?! He glanced up and down the table again a little frantically at the Captain's question. Was that what he'd been supposed to be doing?! "No. I...guess we'll see when they get here." Since they would be in Hufflepuff and all, you know.

And there was a question he'd dreaded already. "I...err..." Truth was he wasn't sure if he wanted to play again. Yes, it had been fun - LOTS of fun really - but now with Treyen gone and the fact that he hadn't been able to play the last match. Lewis just wasn't sure anymore. Only how to tell Keefer that?

Evelyn's question provided some good distraction though and he just nodded when Keefer informed her that he'd played Chaser. Blushing a little when both of them complimented his Quidditch skills, he just averted his gaze down again while shaking his head a little. "Thank you." Now hopefully they would just go on talking and forget about tryouts. Yeah, not very likely but you know.



And there was proof that the sorting HAD already begun. Lewis caught somebody walking up to their house table out of the corner of his eyes and - glad for some distracting - waved at him. There was even a small smile playing around his lips. "Hello. Welcome to Hufflepuff!" There, he could totally do this whole Prefect thing. It wasn't THAT difficult it seemed.

He was definitely nervous. Keefer gave him a friendly elbow. "Lighten up, Badge Boy! You look like you swallowed a bunch of U-No-Poo. You're going to do fine." At least, the Captain was assuming the Prefect was nervous about his new responsibilities. He had certainly seemed to be on the train.

But now it was Keefer's turn to be nervous. I.. er..? What's that supposed to mean? Was Lewis not planning on returning this year?! But the boy was replying to Evelyn's compliment. "Yes, he was great, wasn't he?" Lewis couldn't get out of answering that easily, though. "And he will be great again this year! Right, Lewis?" Keefer waited anxiously for the Prefect's reply.



Out of the corner of his eye, Keefer spotted Oakey. He had been such a great help last year, pinch hitting.. er, Beating... for their first match. Keefer was inexpressibly grateful to the boy, especially given how accident prone he was. "Hey, Oakey!" he hollered down the table. "Good holiday?" And what was wrong with his face? It looked like he'd had an accident. "Been practicing up for tryouts?"

Harvey looked up as Butterfly came over "Hey Butterfly.. good to see you again" he smiled as she said Hi to Minnie.. maybe it wasnt just the claws that were going to take over the puff table.. maybe the Slytherins had the same plan.. but he couldnt let that happen.. or could he?

Harvey nodded "Yes it has been a while." he smiled what was with everyone being just okay.. maybe it was the pressure of knowing that they were back at school and soon it would be time to work he thought "I am doing well.. ready to start my third year" he smiled

It has probably been a funny scene, though. "Maybe they were just trying to be nice and give you a cake, but they didn't feel like walking over so they just threw it!" Yes? Hehehehe! "Did the cake hit you?" That was why his pants were wet then? He had tried to clean the cake off his robes or something?

Sophie smiled when he lifted his head again. That was better! Her eyes then sparkled. She had found out that arriving in Hogwarts would always be amazing. "It was brilliant! HOGWARTS is brilliant!!!" AND IT WOULD ALWAYS BE!! "How do you like it so far??" She asked excitedly.



Bet? OH, RIGHT! That bet they had talked about on their last day at Hogwarts the other term. "Good to know!" Weird look to Alyssa. Sophie just shrugged, she would never understand what went on between those two, would she?

Blink. "Scheming something?" She repeated as low as he has spoken. He didn't trust many of them? "Why is that?" She asked with a confused look on her face.





Then some of her second year mates walked in! "Heeey theere, Nate!! Hey, Alec!!" She waved at them enthusiastically. "How have you been??"




"Bear"?? Has she heard right?? "Um, nice to meet you, B...ear!" She said slowly, not certain if she had got the name right. "I hope you like it here! I know you will!" Hogwarst was GREAT anyway, everybody loved Hogwarts. EVERYBODY!!



Sophie smiled. She was glad everybody had a greeeeat summer! "Mine was pretty good! Went to some of my friends' houses and everything!" Buuuuut she was happier to be back at Hogwarts! No mum and dad, of course, but it was still SO AWESOME!!



Sophie laughed at Laura's words that mentioned the first year. At least she wasn't getting all mad, she was taking it in a fun way! Sophie liked that!



And now another person from anoother house sat at their table. As usual. This fact actually amused Sophie! "Hello theeere!!" She waved at the Gryffindor girl. "I'm Sophie! Welcome to our table!" Heh!
