She didn't comment about Muggle Studies, however. She was tired of every lesson being on food or a party. It was not effective teaching in the Gryffindor's eyes. At least this meant lots of distractions to keep Kurumi's mind off other things.
"Nice to meet you Nettie. I'm Kurumi," she replied with a small bow of the head. "Oh, congratulations on being sorted into Hufflepuff. I know a few incredible people in that house." Her cheeks flushed noticeably at this, but her face remained as neutral...as neutral as she could keep it given the circumstances that is.

She seemed a bit disturbed for a moment there. He was about to ask on the matter but just thought that the prefect spotted a bunch of new first years that she hasn't greeted yet. Yup, being a prefect was surely a busy job. Calls for too much responsibility. It must be hard, trying to be nice to everyone and to get to all of their needs, keep up with all the conversations and remember almost all of them. "Erm, you seem pretty busy, it's okay if you leave me alone and go accommodate the rest." He could wait. After all, that's one person less to worry about for the ultra busy girl. She was jam-packed with stuff to think of and people to help.
Glad? He wasn't so sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. For him, it's more of both. Good cause, well, it was good to be nice and all. Bad because sometimes he missed the alone time. Though the company was making him feel a bit better than before. "It's okay, really. All good," he smiled at her reassuringly. Yup, she's a worrier.
Kurumi giggled softly. There was an awful lot to take in right now, especially for someone like Zeke who had tried to go under the radar until now. Kurumi removed her wand again, flicking it towards some of the cookies to make them summersault a little more vigorously in the air as they continued to dance around the table.
"Oh?" Kurumi asked, cocking her head to the side like a baby owl for a moment. Not the sort of person? He didn't seem like a bad person, perhaps a little shy, but Kurumi was a bit confused as to what sort of person Zeke was previously. If he wanted to talk about it that is. They had just met each other and, well, Kurumi was rather private about personal affairs and it seemed as though Zeke was that sort as well. "Well, the past is the past, right?"
Take your own advice, Kurumi. Sheesh.
Kurumi was back to laughing softly again. "It's no trouble at all, if that it what you are thinking." Even if Kurumi wasn't a prefect, she still made an effort to get to know her housemates whenever she could and, well, for someone who was coming out of their shell like Zeke, they needed the conversation.

Kurumi figured she ought to be standing for this, especially since Selina was RUNNING towards her now. Best to be ready for impact, yeah? But no tackle came, which was probably for the best. "You're the mascot now?" Kurumi replied trying to match her best friend's eyebrow wiggle. "Are we doing away with the lion then?" Changing the house name to Skylador?
Kurumi rather liked the lion as their house character and, as much as she liked Selina, she would rather keep it.
"Thanks," she chirped in reply. Rumi, right...Kurumi needed to give Selina heads up that she wasn't the only student at the school calling her that now. Damange control as it were.
When Kurumi asked if she was the mascot, Selina was confused at first. The redhead was almost certain that the Gryffindor Mascot was the lion, but understanding swept over her when Kurumi mentioned something about getting rid of the lion. She tried to suppress her laugh at Kurumi's notion. Selina did not mean that she was actually the MASCOT. All she meant was that she was being the cheerleader for Gryffindor house spirit. No one else was being wildly vocal about it, but the cookies were a nice touch of house spirit.
Shaking her head no, Selina replied, "Nah, I'm partial to the lion. All I meant by that was that I was the only one being very vocal about Gryffindor. Not that I was actually the mascot... although I can dress up as a lion if you want-" That was an offer, not a joke. If Selina could wear red battle paint everyday, she would.
Then she reached for another cookie behind Kurumi. What? She was hungry!

Jezzabelle was very sweet thus far, no wonder why Kurumi had spoken so highly of the girl time and time again. Usually, people would have ended a conversation right after greetings were exchanged. The opening feast was full of a lot of excitement and friends meeting with friends, so random conversations with people one did not know was an oddity. Yet, here she was talking to Selina and smiling through it. Selina mentally made a tab on Jezz, she liked her.
"I can't complain, I'm pretty good," Selina replied. Just as Selina was about to walk away and start a new conversation, she stopped and turned around to face Jezz, "You excited for the new term?" She liked talking to this girl. What was the harm in continuing the conversation?

All she could hope for was that Grayson was a little less outward about it this term than his last. The two had gotten on really well toward the middle of her term.
So when he approached the Gryffindor table, Selina waved and grinned at him, "Hey Grayson, how was your summer?"

Holding hands would keep them from being separated and lost. So taking inspiration from their younger teammate...with a bit of quirky thoughts of his own, Gideon reached out and took one of Selina's hands from her hip and pulled her towards him and his lap. The sixth year trying to look innoscent the whole time.
"See Anya...I took your advice and caught a certain quidditch captain
"Echoing someone else?" Selina said trying to suppress her smirk, "Well, Mr. Gert, as prefect isn't it your job to keep the order. This person you are emulating is clearly violating school rules. You should write them up or something. We can not let injustice slip through the cracks." As she finished her little speech her own lips cracked into a small smile. There was no way that she could keep up the charade when it came to a certain curly haired and more mature Gideon Gert. Especially because Gideon was a lot more to Selina than just the Gryffindor male prefect, but that was not something that she was going to get into or else she might blush, which was not something she wanted first years to see her do. It might ruin her tough Captain image.
Then suddenly one of her hands that were resting peacefully on her hips were taken away and she was being pulled in a certain direction- toward Gideon. She could see that she was going to fall into his lap if she did not stop herself. The last thing she wanted any younger students to see was two older students, especially students in power, acting extremely... well... you know. So she pulled herself to a stop so she was standing in front of Gideon while his hand held fast to hers.
Her face suddenly matched the color of her hair. They were holding hands and public displays of affection were not really there style, but she kind of liked the small contact. When she registered what Gideon was saying she looked up at him curiously and questioned, "Wait, huh?"
Minerva thought about this. "I do really like him..I..Well I..I." she couldn't find the right words and started fidgeting with her fingers. "I guess I just have a lot of fears, that's all. I have had boyfriends before." she shrugged "but Damon is different, I don't know why."
"I understand completely. Whatever happens i'll be here as your friend and if we have to continue to be partners in crime than we will." He said smirking at her.

Ronnie saw Jordan sit down at the table, and walked over. After giving him a big hug, she sat down next to him. "Hey, Jordan!" she said with a smile. "Boy am I hungry.." she said, looking up and down the table.
"Hi!" Ronnie replied with a smile. "It was...quite interesting." she said laughing. "Pretty crazy. What about you?" she asked.
Jezzabelle beamed, "It wasn't too bad. Spent my time in my room working on a few projects." She had actually been trying to write a few things that had come to mind. Short stories. Letters she would never send. Poetry. "Are you ready for the new year?"

Offering the girl a warm round of applause and charming another cookie to dance near her, Kurumi smiled at the young girl. "Congratulations and welcome to Gryffindor, Penelope," Kurumi chirped as she returned to clapping. "I'm Kurumi." The rest, well, Penelope probably already figured she was a prefect seeing as they had been in the compartment when her and West had shown up.
Kurumi's breathing became slightly uneven as it became more apparent that the two of them were in fact talking about two very different things. His small 'oh' only confirmed this fact and she bit down on her lip. What was he sounding sad about? Her teasing? She knew that she was horrible at it, something she should probably apologize for, and she didn't like that she had made his eyes frown just now. It was seriously one of the last things she wanted to do.
Lingering on his every word, Kurumi almost asked him what it was he had been thinking she had meant. What else could have happened on the train ride to Hogwarts that would have merited an apology from her? Cocking her head to the side in confusion for a moment, Kurumi decided just not to say anything regarding his unfinished sentence. Merlin did she wish that the two of them were able to finish sentences with each other all the time. It was probably one of the most frustrating things about their, er, relationship. "I'm...I'm sorry for confusing you," she whispered. Well, the confusion regarding this isolated situation about what happened on the ride here. The other confusion, the bits that she was sort of unaware of save her own, she was sorry about that too.
But things wouldn't be confusing for too much longer.
Kurumi's smile brightened again. "Lewis...there is a difference between have to and want to," she said softly, her cheeks aglow again as she ran her fingers through her ebony hair and twirled the ends around her fingers. "Luck or not, you still did a great service to me..." You kept my mother with me. Her brown eyes met his green ones again, smiling innocently at him as she ceased playing with her hair. She opened her mouth to suggest she bake him something, but that instantly brought up memories that caused her to blush even more furiously, her eyes to lower slightly, and for her to bite her lip.
Her hand tightened its grip on his robes, as if not wanting to let him go - which was selfishly true. Her eyes never left his and hardly even blinked while her heart raced at the realization of what the future was bringing her came crashing down around her. Tomorrow....tomorrow was when everything was going to change. Only everything had already changed. Hearing him whisper to her, her eyes refocused and she nodded her head. "...yes..." she said with a startling confidence, even to herself. Her eyes momentarily flicked towards the Slytherin table where they instantly fell on Jonathan. Her heart raced and her breath caught in her chest again while she brought her gaze back to meet Lewis'.
"Lewis..." she whispered again, her grip loosening around his robes and lowering slightly, her hand brushing against his for just a moment, sending a jolt of electricity through her body. "Meet me in the Owlerly day after tomorrow?" Her pinky finger found his for a brief moment, wrapping around it to make a pinky promise with him. "Please?"
Wait...was that? "Ronnie!" Kurumi called with a small wave. "Welcome back!" Just where HAD the lion vanished to last term?
Kurumi couldn't help but laugh. Such...confidence and spunk. So different from how she had been as a first year where she had all but curled up under the table during the opening feast because she didn't want to stand out. Kurumi just hoped that Tag's confidence didn't get him into trouble...
Blink blink. Huh? "But...I don't have a boat..." Kurumi replied, cocking her head to the side. If she didn't have a boat, how was she supposed to make it float? Besides, didn't boats only really float on water? Well, they could float on other surfaces, jello perhaps, but you had to take a boat out of its element as it were to accomplish this.
"T-Thank you," she blushed again. "My mother taught me how to bake..." She trailed off for a moment and her eyes widened. That had been the first time she had mentioned her mother so casually in passing, and it stung. It stung a lot actually. Her hand went to her badge, a reminder that right now was not the time for her to cry and look vulnerable, Kurumi returned her attention to tag. "It's a sort of hobby of mine, baking I mean. I spend a lot of my free time in the kitchens with the house elves."
Kurumi smiled at this one Gryffindor, the one playing make believe with serving herself food. Kurumi's own stomach grumbled a bit and her eyes went back to the staff table where she hoped she would see the Headmaster standing up...but no such luck, not yet at least. "Shouldn't be too much longer now," she said with a small wink.

"I think the word is servant, really," Kurumi sighed again. Staff just seemed to have such a nice undertone to it. Servant didn't. Ducks only reminded her of Daichi. Hehe. She needed to find that Slytherin boy later and ask him about knitting sweaters for the ducks. There was still a lot of time before winter, but the sooner they got started the better. She had to teach Daichi how to knit first. "Walnut shouldn't...or I hope he won't at least..." Again, she never knew what was going to happen with Walnut.
"Been keeping it ever since I was eight," she confirmed. And somehow it had managed to stay in almost perfect condition despite the years.
Kurumi's attention was caught by a young boy at the Gryffindor table and she leaned back a bit to get a better look at him. It wasn't, of course, the fact that he was a boy that had caused the eyebrow raise, but the fact that he wore robes trimmed in green that did. She only laughed softly, covering her mouth as she did, when he began to sing.
"What are you singing?" she asked innocently, her badge catching the light from the candles.
"You're welcome," the prefect replied, pushing her black bangs to the side for just a moment before she returned her wand to her pocket. That was enough charming cookies for now.
Her attention returned to the first year and Kurumi furrowed her brow for a moment as she tried to recall her name that had been called out just a few minutes earlier. Sarah, right? "You enjoying Hogwarts so far?"
And here was another student who had wandered away from their own table, not that Kurumi minded. She had wandered a lot before becoming a prefect as well. "Hello," Kurumi said, offering the young girl a small wave.
"You're welcome, Lilly," Kurumi smiled, blushing just a bit. Really, she was just glad to see the Gryffindor with a smile on her face. Kurumi had seen this particular one looking sad far too often.
Kurumi's chocolate gaze looked up when she heard two people ask her about her summer at practically the same time. While she had managed to compose herself earlier in her conversation with Tag, this was a little different. This was point blank asking her how it had been to watch her mother pass away right in front of her eyes. At least, that is how this sort of question always translated to the sixth year.
"I just glad to be back at Hogwarts," Kurumi replied in as neutral a tone as she could muster.
"You could try bowing to it," she suggested. Since, you know, she HAD just been thinking about that. "I did my first year and haven't had any problems with it." Avoiding it was also a good plan too.
CLASSES! Oh good, the sort of topic of conversation that always got Kurumi distracted from everything else. "To be honest...everything." Maybe even Potions, but she would never admit that. "Especially Care of Magical Creatures though. How about you? Do I get to see a mighty return of Maxwell in more lessons this term?" Because she sure hoped so. It was a shame when students missed out on some of the amazing things the professors had to offer.
"Hello Arabella," Kurumi said, offering the girl a small wave.
Oh, an eyebrow raise. Kurumi didn't like those. It meant that she had said something weird or done something foolish. Or both. Maybe it was both in this case.
"Oh, the cookies," she said, pointing skyward with her index finger. There were not too many left suspended in animation in the air, but still enough for any stragglers or those seeking seconds to have should they so desire.
"You were?!" Kurumi squeaked, her cheeks instantly flushing from embarrassment. "Y-You should have come and said hello then." Because Kurumi disliked not knowing members of her house and disliked even more that some of them may have gone by unnoticed by her. As a prefect, that was unacceptable. Almost as unacceptable as what Gideon was not trying to do to Selina. Honestly? Middle of the opening feast and he was trying to pull her onto his lap? Hand holding was one thing...but that was going too far in this Gryffindor's opinion. Kurumi eyed this scene for a moment, but chose to ignore it....for now.
"Well, I am glad that you are losing that ability," she winked. "And I am sorry that I never had a conversation with you until now." Failure prefect moment right there.
Did this boy always wear a smirk? It almost rivaled Jonathan's really, but only Jonathan's smirk had the ability to make her heart skip a beat and to blush. Well, maybe that wasn't true. Kurumi blushed a lot.
"Hello, Grayson," Kurumi chirped, waving to the younger boy as he made his way towards the table - smirk and all.
"Maybe your monstercat, but I think Boot's is a staff type," Jezzabelle said laughing. "Well, since your getting Professor Williamson's help with your master's issues then the two of you can discuss dragons," she said mentioning what the older lion had mentioned to her over the summer about liking the Care of Magical Creatures class and from what she heard, and she heard A LOT, he had a serious thing for dragons.
"WOW!" That was a seriously long time to keep a book full of recipes. "Maybe you should make a cookbook and sell it when you get older." She looked at all the small amount of cookies left dancing. "I'd buy it just so I could have Kurumi Cookies all the time." Although she doubted she could ever make them as good as she did.

Adam may not have returned but Grayson had and Gideon wasn't quite sure what to make of it. They had had their moments together and so had Grayson and Selina. If not...well there wasn't much he could do since he would be doing his best to behave as prefect.
As long as there wasn't a reason for him to be brought in for causing trouble.
"Aye...theres always ways of improving," Gideon commented. "Even if we all did our best last term," the prefect added as an almost afterthought. He didn't want to make it seem like last term was horrible because of their failure. The house of Gryffindor HAD pulled past Slytherin in the end.
Gideon was about to let her be when Jezz went quiet but then she mentioned his sister. "Kacie's good," he answered, his green eyes bouncing over the gathering students as he spoke of her. "Somewhere around here, but certainly good." Hopefully she wasn't getting into too much trouble outside his gaze.
"That's good. We never got our chance to explore the castle last year so I really want to apologize to her for it and try to make it up to her." Jezzabelle looked up and down the table hoping to find Kacie. She really did want to apologize. Everything had happened so fast last term and she had fallen away from everyone so quickly. She gave a small sigh and a flash of sadness took over her eyes for a second before it was replaced with the typical grin the young lion wore.

Jezzabelle was very sweet thus far, no wonder why Kurumi had spoken so highly of the girl time and time again. Usually, people would have ended a conversation right after greetings were exchanged. The opening feast was full of a lot of excitement and friends meeting with friends, so random conversations with people one did not know was an oddity. Yet, here she was talking to Selina and smiling through it. Selina mentally made a tab on Jezz, she liked her.
"I can't complain, I'm pretty good," Selina replied. Just as Selina was about to walk away and start a new conversation, she stopped and turned around to face Jezz, "You excited for the new term?" She liked talking to this girl. What was the harm in continuing the conversation?
Then a figure walked into the Great Hall with his usually smirk. Grayson Bay. Where had he disappeared off to at the end of the term? She had seen him around, but he was not as prominent as he had been at the beginning of her fourth term. However, the look on his face made Selina's eyebrow raise. Grayson really was one cocky Gryffindor. Just by the way he carried himself she could tell that she was in for another term of smirks and compliments and the like. All she could hope for was that Grayson was a little less outward about it this term than his last. The two had gotten on really well toward the middle of her term.
So when he approached the Gryffindor table, Selina waved and grinned at him, "Hey Grayson, how was your summer?"
Out of the corner of her eye, Selina saw a very sad looking first year. Selina knew that look better than anyone else in the world, it was hunger. Suddenly, Selina's heart dropped in her stomach for the poor hungry girl. The redhead searched around the table for a cookie that Kurumi had made. Finally, she spotted them and took one cookie to give to the girl.... two for good measure... three because Selina wanted one.
With a few quick steps she walked over to the girl and took a seat beside her. Then she slid the two cookies over to the girl and said, "Here you go... you look a tad hungry, kiddo." And hunger was not a laughing matter.
Another voice drew her attention away from the hungry girl, it was a small blonde haired boy. She was about to introduce herself and welcome him to Hogwarts when the kid blatantly told Selina she was loud. The Captain was taken aback for a moment at the kid's honesty and blunt manner of speaking, but she shook it off after a few moments and replied, "Erm thanks... being loud is kind of a requirement of being a Captain. Getting attention of the team and all."
Then she laughed a little and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name. I'm Selina, your Quidditch Captain... you are?" Irish... but that was beside the point.
"Echoing someone else?" Selina said trying to suppress her smirk, "Well, Mr. Gert, as prefect isn't it your job to keep the order. This person you are emulating is clearly violating school rules. You should write them up or something. We can not let injustice slip through the cracks." As she finished her little speech her own lips cracked into a small smile. There was no way that she could keep up the charade when it came to a certain curly haired and more mature Gideon Gert. Especially because Gideon was a lot more to Selina than just the Gryffindor male prefect, but that was not something that she was going to get into or else she might blush, which was not something she wanted first years to see her do. It might ruin her tough Captain image.
Then suddenly one of her hands that were resting peacefully on her hips were taken away and she was being pulled in a certain direction- toward Gideon. She could see that she was going to fall into his lap if she did not stop herself. The last thing she wanted any younger students to see was two older students, especially students in power, acting extremely... well... you know. So she pulled herself to a stop so she was standing in front of Gideon while his hand held fast to hers.
Her face suddenly matched the color of her hair. They were holding hands and public displays of affection were not really there style, but she kind of liked the small contact. When she registered what Gideon was saying she looked up at him curiously and questioned, "Wait, huh?"
Jezzabelle smiled, "That's good." She watched as Selina had made to turn away from her and was about to turn away herself and begin to fiddle with something to preoccupy the time until she could officially crash and burn up in the dorm with Boot's but then the older lion turned back to her and continued their conversation.
She laughed, "Of course I'm excited. I really missed being in the greenhouses and lounging around the dorm on the weekends." It just wasn't the same in her greenhouse at home or lounging in her living room. It wasn't as comforting as being at Hogwarts. "Are you ready for this term to start?" From what Jezzabelle could see she had a lot of house pride, hehe pride, which was good though because it was what made the young lion like her. Selina had an enthusiasm that she could never reach.

Kurumi giggled softly. There was an awful lot to take in right now, especially for someone like Zeke who had tried to go under the radar until now. Kurumi removed her wand again, flicking it towards some of the cookies to make them summersault a little more vigorously in the air as they continued to dance around the table.
"Oh?" Kurumi asked, cocking her head to the side like a baby owl for a moment. Not the sort of person? He didn't seem like a bad person, perhaps a little shy, but Kurumi was a bit confused as to what sort of person Zeke was previously. If he wanted to talk about it that is. They had just met each other and, well, Kurumi was rather private about personal affairs and it seemed as though Zeke was that sort as well. "Well, the past is the past, right?"
Take your own advice, Kurumi. Sheesh.
Kurumi was back to laughing softly again. "It's no trouble at all, if that is what you are thinking." Even if Kurumi wasn't a prefect, she still made an effort to get to know her housemates whenever she could and, well, for someone who was coming out of their shell like Zeke, they needed the conversation.
He wasn't so sure if he could accept that advice but he nodded anyway. "I guess so," he said with that uncertainty in his voice. No, sir. He can never let go of the past. Never.. It was the only place he meet her again, be with her again, see her again. Mehh, shake the thought off, Zeke. It's a feast, for Merlin's sake. Now's not the time for all that stuff.
It's a good thing Kurumi could laugh it off. Though something from the look in her face gave away that hint that she has her own past she couldn't just put behind. Oh well.
"Well, if you say so, then okay," and he was back to grinning again...and reaching for another cookie to eat. When would the food come? He looked over to the staff table. Hm, teachers talking and whatnot. He wanted to eat. Didn't the Headmaster think of the poor first years that were tired from the trip and who were hungry now? Oh well okay, Zeke wasn't that much concerned about that than he was on getting food stuffed in his stomach. It was just an excuse he thought of to make him feel like he was giving out a good reason for Tateskins to feed them well, Zeke. "Think the food'll be out anytime soon?"

"Hey studentsies, Toddles wants to play catch NOW." He jumped where he was and threw the orb right at where a human kiddy's head would be. Toddles wanted to play he hadn't waited all summer to be ignored!

She smiled. "Well Hogwarts is happy to have you back." The fact that Kurumi wasn't as smiley as normal wasn't lost on her.

She giggled as the two held hands. "And now you won't lose her." she said between giggles.
Then she put her hands up as if she were imagining a picture. "Aww! You two match now! I like it." Matchy-matchy!
All couples needed to have badges. She decided.

Oh my MERLIN! It was a baby house elf. Jezzabelle had heard about it from Kurumi but to actually see it. Toddles. Aww such an adorable name. She smiled at the little thing that wanted to play catch. If anything she wanted to join in and maybe it would make the elf tired enough so that it would go to sleep and no one else would be disturbed. "I'll pl-" Her sentence was cut off as Toddles through the orb and she ducked before it could hit her. She was willing to play, not get hit in the head.

Kurumi was just about to address everyone who had been speaking to her when she heard someone, or something, SHOUT something. Wand still in hand, Kurumi turned around and her dancing cookies followed suit.
One cookie, unfortunately, met its fate when the orb collided with it, sending a shower of cookie crumbs all over the place and powering the area in red and gold sugar.
"Toddles!" Kurumi squeaked, all attention on the house elf. Could she hug him?! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE! It was then that Kurumi noticed the orb sailing through the air.

Lunging forward, Kurumi reached her hand out to try and catch it before it knocked someone in the head. Wait...was it going towards Anya?!

Nice...with a smile. She wasn't exactly pretty. Always scruffy, unlike Vi who was always as neat as a pin, not like she had just rolled through a haystack, which Lilly liked to do. "Thank you!" It was the only way to reply.
"Nope, I haven't forgotten!" she promised. That would be fun. She had brought all her music with her in the front pocket of her trunk. "I've been practising in my tree!" That did sound very weird, even to Lilly, but she'd said it now, so too bad, really.
Ira smiled at the girl and replied, "Um. welcome!" What else could she say? Was Lilly not accepting that she REALLY was pretty? Was there a doubt? Nope, according to Ira at least.
Ah! So she hadn't forgotten! That was good. So yayy! Ira would be learning something new this term! Something that her muggle parents could identify with. but wait... what did Lilly say? On a tree? Ira just sort of blinked and asked, "Tree? IN a tree? As in, INSIDE a tree? Like a treehouse?" Yep, she was curious. Wow! That was wonderful. Ira had never climbed trees yet.

And then she looked at the table on realising that someone had spilled water on her robes. "HEY..." she began before seeing who or rather what had done it. A house elf? On their table? And it was shouting something.
Wait.. was this THAT baby elf of last term? It was so CUTE! "Wanna play with me?" Ira asked, in a kind of squeaky voice. But before she had even completed her sentence, the elf had already thrown an orb at a girl! Whoa! It sure was a VERY naughty elf! Not wanting the orb to knock at her head, she ducked.
And then her mouth opened in a kind of O. Was the baby elf sorted? Into Gryffindor? Was that what it shouted before? So now, they would be studying with a baby elf huh?

His attention was caught by a loud voice shouting some weird version of the word Gryffindor. Turning his head over to look at the one causing the commotion, Zeke saw an elf. A little one, at that. Was there ever a kid elf? Or a baby elf? He didn't know at all, but it certainly looked like one. Acted like one too.
Ohh, his name was Toddles. And it threw an orb that really caused an even bigger commotion. Flying orb on the loose. It zoomed past him and Kurumi which she tried to catch and which he tried to duck at by leaning backwards a bit. Whoah! Talk about action at a feast. This was getting interesting.
Yes, these studensies were MUCH better at catch...or sort of. As the Shiney ball sped through the air all the kids ducked out of the way. Why?!?
"No, no studensies you catch, you CAAATCH it!"
The orb flew through the air past the Prefect girl Toddles remembered from that time he got to meet the whole school and OH WOW a cookie just exploded!!
Finally as it dodged some more kiddy heads, it finally came to a stop at the little red girl's cheek. (ANYA) Toddles fell over backwards giggling very hard. He hadn't seen something so funny since the time he had put his toes in the potato soup.
"Toddles can throw hard, can't he misses studensie? You are supposed to catch it with your fingers though, not your silly face! Pass it back now pwease! Toddles likes playing at this table." He like Ryffinblorr very much, maybe the other elves would take him to their sleepy room in the top of the Castle to visit? Toddles would ask nicely.

He like Ryffinblorr very much, maybe the other elves would take him to their sleepy room in the top of the Castle to visit? Toddles would ask nicely.
Anya stared cross-eyed at the little shiny ball.
Catch it? Elffie wanted her to catch it?
A wicked grin spread across the second year's face. She snatched the ball away from her cheek. She rubbed the spot for a second. Seemed okay. No weird after!orb effects.
Not that she'd care if something weird happened. This was Hogwarts, after all.
She held the ball between her fingers and stood up and backed away from the table.
"If we're playing catch... we are playing right." she insisted. She had pretty quick reflexes... she did play seeker last term after all. She grinned once more. SEEKER POWERS ACTIVATE!
"Go long little elf." None of this silly laying on the table stuff.
*giggles* How fun would it be to play keep-away from a little house elf in the Great Hall?! MOST BRILLIANT OPENING FEAST GAME EVER!

The orb sort of just whizzed by Kurumi, not that it really mattered where the orb went at the moment because TODDLES WAS HERE!
Bits of cookies crumbs were stuck to her face and the entire area smelled like vanilla sugar. Normally, Kurumi would have been a little upset about having her cookie crumbled, but this was Toddles! This was the little elf she had spoken for at the end of the term feast. THIS WAS HER KIN!
"TODDLES!" Kurumi chirped again, flinging herself at the little elf and hugging him. "I've missed you!" *SQUEEEEZE*
She turned her head for a moment to see that the orb had...stuck to Anya's face? Weird. OH WELL! TODDLES!
"Now, how did you come to find such a thing?" Such a clever and curious little house elf. *SQUEEEZE*

Jezzabelle just watched as the orb smacked Anya in the face and she had to hold back her laughter as Kurumi reached out and hugged the house elf. It was, by far, the most memorable opening feast ever, for her anyway.Smiling at Toddles she spoke softly, "Can I play catch too?" Sure she had ducked but she was not expecting such a little thing to be so fast.

Of course of course Toddles knew they had to play catching with the shiney right. Toddles was good at catching games.
He hopped around on the table excitedly, ready for the red girl to through the orb.
While Toddles waited to catch the orb he was hugged by prefect girl. He squirmed a bit trying to get away and get back to the catching gamesy. Prefect girl could gt hugsies after the game."Toddles playing gamesy now prefect girl." He nodded entusiastically. "Toddles found it in the room with the spinning gargoyle."
Red girl threw the shiney and Toddles caught it firmly. Yay Toddles was the best catcher ever.
He nodded vigorously at another Red girl(HOPEendures) who wanted to join the game."Toddles throws it to studensie now" He giggled and threw the shiney at the girl.
Jezzabelle beamed happy that Toddles wanted to play with her too and she reached out to catch the orb as the elf had warned her before he would throw it. She caught it and held it in her hands looking at it closely. "You mean you took this from the Headmasters office?" She had over heard what Toddles had said to Kurumi and she frowned as she held the orb closely. "Toddles you really shouldn't be taking things that don't belong to you." She shouldn't throw it back. She should take it straight to the Headmaster. in fact she was going to. She stood up, orb in hand and said, "I'm taking it abck to him and I'll get you a different shiny ball to play with." She held it really close not sure what was going to happen now that she refused to return it.

Jezzabelle wasn't prepared for the attack of the Toddles and she felt the light weight as he slid down and before she knew it the orb was snatched out her little fingers. "Toddles no! If you break it you could get into trouble." She didn't know what it was and if it was important or not but she should have handled the situation better. She should have ran off without telling what she was going to do, but she messed up.
She tried chasing after the little elf but he was fast and she couldn't move with the same speed and before she knew it he was heading to a different table. Oh what to do? She could only see one solution that would work. She might not have the orb but she could head straight up to the staff table and let the Headmaster know about the missing object. Turning around she made her way up to the table without looking back all the while hoping she wouldn't get in trouble.
