The Ravenclaw coughed and wheezed, turning to his side as he tried to get his senses straightened out. He slowly propped himself up on his elbow and looked up just in time to see Dylan hit the ground…

-- and the cart just zooming ooonnnnn.

Mouth agape and eyes wide in fright, Vickers scrambled to his feet and ignored all the body aches that was screaming for his attention. He skidded to Dylan’s side and tried to help his friend up “Are you ok?” he croaked, still gasping for breath from his fall.

But his head spun back towards the runaway cart hearing the girls yelling from within-- then saw the cart launch into the air…

*GAAAAAAAAASSSSSP*

It was like time slowed down to a crawl as the cart soared into the air, gracefully it seemed, its decorations fluttering about in the breeze, its wheels still spinning from when it left the ground. And there he stood dumbfounded, watching their magnificent cart take to the air like a magnificent, mythical bird….

…. and landing smack into thick folds of a bushy tree.

“Indy! Kim!” he cried out as he finally found the feeling of his legs and bolted after them.

Ugh.. where were they? "Indy, you okay?" Kimalia gently tapped her shoulder, she looked asleep. No broken bones or anything on them. "Um" Kimalia peered out from... a tree. Yes, a tree branch. Not the Whomping Willow thankfully. But, they were above the rest, and she could see Vickers calling them out.

Kimalia waved her scarf out at him and the others. She was no damsel in distress, seriousness. "Erm, anyone want to get their palm's read?" Kimalia looked again at there quite stable cart, which now became the new treehouse. "Free of charge."

Penny smiled at her young partner and took a look at their handy work. Well it was a start anyway. They still needed to get the wheels on and the pulling handle too. She walked around the contraption and finally decided on the best course of action. The wheels would take a bit more team work so the handle should go on next.

"Okay. Let's put the handle on next and then we can tackle the wheels. I'll hold the handle in place and you stick it on." She winked and then grabbed the handle. After trying it in a few places the Ravvie was pretty sure she had it in a good spot. She looked at Oichi.

"Alright. Whenever yer ready."

Nerida said Thank you! to the Slytherin prefect and listened to her as she explained to Butterfly how to do the spell, it was always good to learn. Okay, lets do it! She picked up the handle piece and put it onto the cart and waved her wand and said Adhaero! She pulled on it a bit to make sure it was stable, it was.

She said Okay, handle on, looks like the wheels are on as well! Good job, Butterfly! She stepped back from the cart, it looked like they had all the requirements!

Dylan couldn't believe his eyes.

Their cart...

Their hard work over the past couple of hours...

...was flying through the air...

FLYING.

...towards a tree.

...The Slytherin was actually frozen in shock, totally unable to move due to his horror. They'd killed them...Those two girls who had bravely sacrificed themselves to ride in the cart...so they could win.

Suddenly, Vicky was at his side. "The girls...I'm fine." He was motioning for him to go...but the Ravenclaw had had a similar idea and was already there. They both watched, helpless, as it neared the tree...

Second later, however, it had settled itself in some springy branches and Cap'n's head was popping out. They were fine.

Dylan rested his face in his palm for a moment in relief, before jumping to his feet. Any pain he might have been feeling was quickly dulled by the need to check on them...Running up beside Vicky, Kimalia was waving one of her many-colored scarves down at them...

Hopefully the cart stayed and didn't plummet to the ground...

Despite everything, the Slytherin started laughing...hard.

Calista was really enjoying herself during this lesson and hoped that her students were too. They looked so funny running around the Grounds with their fortune teller costumes on all the while trying to build their little carts. Yeah, it barely had anything to do with real Divination but it at least was showing them how ridiculous the common thought of those who work in this field it.

Just as she was ready to sit down on the grass because it was taking them so long, the Professor saw another team hop into their wagon, the ones who had had to slow down before, and race towards her. When they passed her and then came to a stop, Calista whistled loudly again.

"Our second winners have crossed the finish line! Continue to work and have fun, but there will be no more bonus points since the first two teams have made it over here!" She waved at those still working and then turned back to the team of four that was panting beside her.

"Well done guys, you each with be getting 5 bonus points for your victory." She grinned at the 2 hufflepuffs and 2 ravenclaws-house diversity for the win.


OCC: Alright guys, like Professor Elwood said there will be no more bonus house points for being one of the winning teams though I am still going to hand them out for good work and such. There have been a number of people ask me how much longer the thread will remain open so that you can continue to work on your carts and I've decided to keep it open until Noon (12pm EST) on Saturday, May 12th. You should have plenty of time to finish or at leats start and earn some points.

Minerva jumped up and down when they were declared second place winners. "Thanks professor, that was so much fun and I love my outfit by the way." she really did like her outfit, it was so much fun to dress up, "but I do have to say it was hard doing hard labor building the cart dressed like this." she giggled again and then turned back to her team hugging Harvs, then Damon, and then Taylor. "Great Job guys we are a great team."

Harvey grinned from ear to ear as they were declared second place winners.. he could relax now.. they would be getting those bonus points that they had worked so hard to get.. he heard Minnie thank the professor and said it was hard to work in these costumes.. she was right.. just then he was just about to flop down onto the grass when he was hugged by Minnie as she too was excited to have won second place this made Harvey smile even more.. yeah they had done it as a team and he had to agree they were a great team "Yeah I agree with you Mins.. we are a great team.. two puffs and two claws." he smiled as he finally sat down to rest and wait for the other teams to finish and also to wait for the class to move on.

Things were moving along well. It appeared that another team had claimed second place, but Paulie really just wanted their team to finish the wagon and get past that finish line at all! Just as Kaiden and Beezus finished their side walls, he managed to finish his second one. WHICH meant that they had completed the base and successfully attached all the walls as well! "Lookin' good so far, huh?" Paulie asked his teammates.

"Accio handle," Paulie murmured, as he swished his wand over at the pile of handles that their professor provided. "Hmmm, Kaiden, how about you attach the handle and, Beezus, you and I can each attach two wheels, yeah?" After handing over the handle to Kaiden, he grabbed a wheel. "Adhaero," he spoke the spell and attached the first of the wagon wheels.

Damon smiled, second place! Thank you Puck for teaching me how to build. He looked at Minnie then realizing for the first time that Taylor was there... He walked away slightly, not over the awkwardness from last night. He nodded a thanks to the professor and looked at Minerva. Hoping she'd notice his mood to get away from Taylor.

Beezus couldn't help but giggle at her team mates. They were complimenting themselves. "Boys..you're the best." Because they just where. Heh. They weren't even making her do the difficult stuff. But seriously, the magic that were performing now, the sticking and unsticking charms weren't that easy. In fact, she had a hard time doing it but maybe because they were in a race then she was just feeling more determined.

Finally, their floor was done..and with the help of a little teamwork, they had also managed to get the walls together. Their wagon looked a bit decent now. Except that it still needed a few more parts. And that's what they were going to attend to next.

Look at that! Harvey's team had won second place. She didn't even had the chance to watch them because she was also preoccupied with making their own wagon. No matter, two from that team were Ravenclaws and that means they've got bonus points now. That was enough for her.

"Oh. Right.Sure" Beezus told Paulie when he asked her to put the wheels. Uh-oh. She got six wheels and all they needed was four right? Pffft. She was going to get in trouble with that. But if Professor Elwood wasn't going to know, then...maybe she could just return the remaining two later?

Heh. Good idea.

As of now, she was going to attach the wheels. With a swish of her wand, she muttered, "Adhaero!" And stuck under the cart. Great. One wheel down, three more to go. She shifted into her other side to attach the second wheel when she heard that.

BLAAAM!

A cart just hit the trees! And...and...GASP! Beezus stood up immediately. "HOLY QUAFFLE! My best friend's inside that wagon!" Well..because she had been eyeing Indy a while ago, which also meant she knew that she was working with Kimalia, Dylan and Vickers.

She turned to the Head Boy with a worried face. "Are they going to be alright?" And she needed a confirmation, because if not, then Paulie she was not going to continue attaching those wheels.

As he was working, he heard Elwood announce that the second team had crossed the finish line. Well, they still had a way to go, but he was determined to finish this thing. Hearing Beezus's compliment, "Yeah, we are aren't we."

eyes widening seeing the piece of the cart coming towards them. "Handle, got it." He said, taking the handle Paulie had summoned. Adhaero, Adhaero, Adhaero He said over and over again, finally getting the handle to stick.

head jerking up at the sound of the collision, and then his teammates voice, Kaiden turned to the other two. "We should go check on them." he said, turning back to the other team.

Nerida said Thank you very much, and your very welcome! She took another look at their masterpiece, she thought they did pretty good, it actually looked like a cart!Ill sit in it.. Now who would be pulling her, or did all three do it? They may have not run the race, but she sure did have fun making the cart and dressing up like a gypsy and she got to meet three new people!

Kennedy nodded his head at the Ravenclaw. "Nice job," he said, sending her a small grin. Now. What else did they have to do? Most of the walls were already up.

He turned to Selena at the call of his name and he raised an eyebrow. His new name was Orange? But...he liked apples. If he had to be named after a food then he wanted Apple. The boy was about to argue that point, but this wasn't the place. "Um, okay. You be Pineapple." That was random, but if he got a new name so would Selena. Hehe.

Kennedy pointed his wand to where Selena had the next board and said, "Adhaero." Sticking it firmly to the base of the cart. Now both walls were attached to the cart. They needed the wheels and the handles. He directed his wand toward the half-built cart and levitated it. "Okay, now it's time to stick the wheels on it."

Someone?

What was with her and Hufflepuffs today? Not that she was complaining of course, just peculiar...two classes in a row and all that.

"Sure, that would be awesome." Cass replied with a smile as she held out her hand towards the younger boy "I'm Cass by the way, you are?"

Oh! Another person! Well, wasn't this awesome?

"Sure." The blonde replied cheerily "We can all be a team or something." The professor did say they could be a team right? "I'm Cass." She said, gesturing to herself "What's your name?" She'll leave the Hufflepuff to introduce himself, she didn't even know his name.

Zack looked up at her and the other boy who needed a partner too. "Great, we could be a team" he said all excited to complete the task. They haven't yet started and Zack noticed that he had already taken too long to find a partner. He quickly gathered around the two of them and started talking. "If we divide the work we could complete it faster. So what do you think?" he asked still very excited with the work. He wanted to complete it as soon as possible not win but at least complete.

"He looked at the two of them and then said, so what if i get the wall part and then you could do the wheels if you want?" he asked looking at them waiting patiently to hear their response.

The silence is awkward. Glad that Louisa manages to break it without making it look ridiculous. Now that they are going to build the wagon, Xing pulls out his wand from the uncomfortable shirt before he drops on his knees to hold the other side of the wood. He looks confused when Louisa speed-explains, but understands what she says when she breaks it down to three words. The simpler, the better. Xing nods, "Alright," and thus, he takes one of the wheels, holds it against the side of the wood.

Wand pointed towards the wheel, the Slytherin swishes the twelve inches long Poplar wood. He looks focused as he swishes his wand and performs the incantation. "Adhero..." the word escapes in a low, slightly husky and confident voice. Wheels, done. "What's next?" Xing suddenly asks, looking up at Louisa.

As Professor Elwood was congradulating the next winning team she failde to notice as a Slytherin and two Ravenclaw students were stuck in a runaway wagon headed towards the Forbidden Forest!

"Hopping Hippogriffs!!"

The Divintation Professor looked around for a second, picked up a stick from the ground and stuck it in the ground marking the finish line and began to run towards the children who were in trouble. "Everyone, the stick over there is your finish line now!" She shouted for the others to hear as she took off running--still in full fortune teller gear, mind you.

Once she arrived, the wagon had already crashed into a tree just on the edge of the forest, thank goodness, and it had thrown the students all over the place. ONE WAS IN A TREE!

"Are you all alright? Does anyone need the Hospital Wing?" This could not be happening, not during her first lesson. She could only help with auora clensing not any real healing that didn't just call for a band-aid.

"Looks like we're all done then," Sierra said, standing up. They had a cart with a floor and four walls. Then there were the wheels, which had just been fixed on. Oh, and the handle was on now, too. So they hadn't won (and for that, Sierra grumbled under her breath a little), but at least they were finished!

One of the others had sat in the cart by this point, so Sierra grabbed a hold of the handle. "I'll pull it across the finish line," she said. "Alright, everyone, grab on, and let's go!" With the little Ravenclaw now in the cart, Sierra began to tug until she'd finally reached the line. At least the girl in the cart was small. Once they were across, she dropped the handle. "Done!"

"Professor Ellwood?" Sierra called out, cupping her hands over her mouth, so her voice would carry. "My group's all done with our cart, and we've crossed the finish line. Do you need some help over there? Or, maybe someone to take them to the Hospital Wing?"

Wait. Was that Kimalia over there?

Louisa moved the second wheel to the other edge of the wood plank and waved her wand at it, "Adhero.." Her hands were covered in dirt and splints now but she didn't really mind that as much as minding this ridiculous outfit that continued to get in her way of holding the wooden 'floor' with the wheels attached to it. Zing seemed to be doing a good job of this, though. That was a relief. The girl held her end of the half-wagon and waited for him to finish his job, watching carefully in case he didn't understand an instruction or something.

Smiling at the boy, Louisa got to her feet and dusted off her big skirt. "Now we put two walls." She pointed at the two square wood pieces that she'd prepared already. "You do one and I'll do the other." Once the girl let go of the half-wagon, it started moving a bit. Louisa quickly held it in place again. Uh oh. She looked up at Zing alerted, "Maybe we shouldn't have attached the wheels first." Oopsies. Her inexperience in building stuff showed way too quickly. Oh well, thank Merlin for magic.

With the wand, Louisa brought the square wooden plates over to them. She dragged one of them over the wagon and maneuvered it to a standing position at the edge of the wagon's floor. "Adhero," she pointed at the base of the wooden piece. "Your turn." She said while checking that the first 'wall' of their wagon was steady enough by shaking it just a little bit.

"Sounds like a plan." The Slytherin said with a nod before running of to wear the pile of things were, carrying what she could in her arms before pointing her wand at a few of the things that were too big to carry, muttering a quiet Locomotor charm, making the few other pieces of wood hover behind her as she walked back to her team.

Then, she set the things back down onto the grass and sat down cross-legged beside them before grabbing a long stick that could be used as an axle along with two wheels.

Cass then took the stick and held it evenly with one hand. She then took her other hand and grabbed one of wheels to insert the stick into the whole at the center of it, then she set the half finished wheel on the ground, grabbed her wand and said "Adhaero" carefully, making sure to pronounce it correctly.

Pleased with how the wheel then stuck to the wood, the blonde repeated the action a second time, making sure that they weren't going to come off any time soon before turning towards Zack "Your turn." She said with a smile. They couldn't have a cart with just wheels of course.

Yay! He got himself partners. Not just one but two! ow awesome is that?

"Nice to meet you Cass. I'm Messer" he shook the older girl hand. Look a Slytherin who's nice. At first he's thought that the girl would refuse him as her partner because he's much younger than her and he's a Hufflepuff. Its not a secret that most of the Slytherin dislike them.

Then his eyes went from Cass to the Gryffindor boy. He's right. They need to do this assignment ASAP! "Okay. I could do the wheels." he nodded his head.

Okay now that they already need all the things for the cart thingy they need to get going. Since Cass already did the first two wheels he need to do the last two. That mean he need to do the spell too. He pick up the wheels and dragged it to him. He placed the wheel on standing position and insert a stick. With his other free hands, he pick up his wand and said "Adhaero!" And he repeated the process to the last wheels. Okay his part was done. Right?

He balanced the base against his leg, and watched he curiously as she went to fetch more wood. What was that for? He was all for aesthetics, but speed and weight were priority here...

On her demonstration, however, all soon became clear. "Sounds good," he confirmed with a nod of his head, and subsequent bounce of his curls. He watched her stick the wheels as suggested together, before laying the base in front of her.

"I guess...I could have a go?" Spike said hesitantly. "But I can't guarantee the strength of my sticking." As in, there was a high possibility of wheels and wagon not going together when he started pulling. "You might feel, well, safer, having done them yourself." He didn't trust himself to charm his turban in place, so he didn't know why she would trust him sticking wheels to the bottom of their cart.

"Before that though, we need to decide how far the wheels need to apart. Say, a handspan in from either end?" That would be just a bit wider than the wheels on a skateboard, right? He placed his right hand on the base to measure it out roughly and put the axle of the wheels in place. "That'd be about there. Though, maybe the front wheels should be a bit further back to allow for easier pulling?"

So now Zack was all ready and up with the wagon building task. He hadn't built one in all his life well that would be in his twelve years. He only saw it on TV or in some book and now when professor had shown them how they had to do it. He tried remembering the spell professor had give to join to build the wagon. "Hey, i'm Zack, i guess i didn't mention my name."

He looked for his wand in his pocket to know if it was still there, that was the most important thing he needed of course. He looked as Cass as she worked on with the wheels. He was impressed as she completed the work in just few minutes. Well i guess this is what happens when you have lots of experience he thought smiling.

Well it was now his turn to work on the walls of the wagon. He saw Cass and Messer work on bring the plank of woods that he could use as the walls of the wagon. He grabbed his wand in his right arm and looked at the wheels and then at the plank of wood. He said the flying Charm on one of the plank and held it up to where it joined the base where the wheels were attached and kept it touching with it and then said "adhaero" clear enough so that the wall could stick properly. He was quite nervous as he didn't want the cart to fall to one side due to the press of the wall on one side.

He noticed the cart to shake a little but it didn't fall off. He was still no sure if that could still stand still for a long time. So he looked for the other plank to match the other side of the wall and found one. Messer had got them enough woods needed. He did the same for the other wall and then the cart stood there still. It was still a bit shaky. He didn't know what could be done.

He then looked at the two and said "Okay, so i'm done with the wall part i could do the top too if you want but i think two is enough. What do you think?" he asked them and then started looking at the cart again hoping it not to fall.
