"Maybe after the next charms class we could see if she could help?" he asked, sure Amelia probably would like to send it to him for Christmas. "I'm sure it's a simple charm te do, it's the story thet'd take longer." Wrinkling his nose again he nodded "Well with the game this weekend, I would hope we'd not be so worried about practice over break." He hoped anyway. "If thet's the case let's disappear." he said with a laugh. They could do that right? Find that room that appears when you need it. Though he still wasn't sure he believed that the room actually existed! "So ye don' care fer pumpkin juice hot?" he asked curiously, he'd never had it, considering they didn't really drink hot liquids in the places he'd lived most. "Never had it meself, so not sure if I do or not. I do like iced pumpkin juice though." Raising his eyebrow when she said she'd not get sick. "Well hopefully ye wouldn't. But yer right about being used te this." Shivering again he stretched his long legs out infront of him towards the fire. He'd not taken off his jacket yet, still being too cold to do so, though with the snow melting off it he probably should. |

After Isaac had sat down Amelia looked around the kitchens to find a good place to sit, shedding her beanie and coat as she did so. Unfortunately there really was nowhere that was heaps close to Isaac. Stupid kitchens having no couches. Biting her lip slightly in indecision Amelia took a couple of steps closer to Isaac, eyeing up his coat and how wet it looked before making her decision. Taking the final few steps so that she was standing in front of him she promptly settled herself so she was curled up on his lap. Because sharing body heat was supposed to be good and if he didn't like it he could just tell her to move! "That's a good idea. And I don't think reading the story should take up too much time. Maybe half an hour." And even if it took longer than that she was happy to do it for her baby brother. Especially since she'd gotten another letter from her parents saying that he'd been missing her, as well as gotten sick lately. "Nope. I think it may have something to do with the fact that I don't even like cold Pumpkin Juice all that much," because she was strange and seemingly hated most wizarding drinks. "And I wont get sick from today, but after the game I have no clue if I will or not. But there's always pepper up," she responded with a shrug. |
Quote:
Watching as she looked around the kitchens he wondered where she might sit, happy to accommodate he had no problem of her curling up on his lap. His fingers found her hand and threaded his fingers through hers. Settling in he realized there was an elf standing there watching them. Perking up he smiled over at him "Could we haf te...?" Glancing down at Amelia questioning to make sure hot chocolate was ok. "Te hot chocolate's please." Nodding at what she said "It takes a certain taste te get used te." he said shrugging. It was one of the few drinks they could drink besides water that they brought with them to the digs, so he'd had to either drink that or water and water really got tiring after awhile. Wait...Pepper up? "What's pepper up?" |

"Oh no. I wouldn't feign illness to get out of the actual game. Just to get out of practices if they're scheduled at inconvenient times," Amelia corrected once she realized that Isaac had taken her words the wrong way. Feigning illness to get out of the actual game? That was something she'd never do. She'd most likely play in the game even if she was ill. She was committed to not letting people down during the actual match. "Thanks... Have you been told your position," she asked smiling gently as she looked up at him and playing with their intertwined fingers. Amelia nodded slightly to indicate that she was good with having hot chocolate, because really who wouldn't be good with that? Well a vegan wouldn't be, but since she'd gotten over that phase ages ago hot chocolate was very definitely one of her favourite winter drinks. "I suppose it is an acquired taste, maybe. I just never had it much at home. It was pretty much water, milk, or other juices, with the occasional soft drink. My mum was always of the opinion that pumpkin was better left as food rather than a drink," and her father had never really cared what they had. In fact she was pretty sure he didn't much like Pumpkin Juice. And if he did than he didn't have it at home. "You don't know what Pepperup is?" she asked shocked. She thought everyone knew what it was. Although, maybe he didn't get colds much living in Egypt and what not... "It's a Potion that helps cure colds... It's pretty useful during Winter," she finally explained once she got over her surprise at him not knowing, before going back to playing with his fingers while waiting for their drinks. |
Quote:
"Pumpkin normally would be a food." he said with a laugh shaking his head "Never had it as a juice in America thet's fer sure." He watched as she played with their fingers smiling to himself. How could he be so lucky as to have Amelia in his life? One of the first people he'd met, and he just adored her. Shaking his head a smirk appeared at her shocked voice "Nope, not thet I know of anyway." At her mention of a potion it was his turn to look stunned. "Now thet sounds disgusting!" Oi, hopefully he'd never have to take it. "What is it...filled with pepper?" Looking up as their mugs were brought over he smiled "Thank ye." as he took a mug with his free hand. |

Huh?? Amelia leaned in closer as Isaac mumbled the position he'd be playing, or thought he'd be playing. "You'll do well in that position," she told him confidently, knowing that her words were true. At practice he was very good and she had no doubt that being in an actual game wouldn't change that. However as he'd mumbled the position she thought that it would be best not to mention it out loud either, just in case there was some reason he didn't want other people to know, and decided to let the issue drop. "It's really not that bad. And I'm actually not sure what the ingredients are..." maybe she should go bother the potions professor about it. Or look it up in a book or something. Either way knowing the ingredients may actually be really helpful. That way she could maybe make it if she needed it once school was out. "Oh, thank-you," Amelia said, as she too took her hot chocolate from the helpful elf, before sipping at it. She was pleased to see that it was just the right amount of sweet. And if it weren't for the fact that she was in company she'd be draining her mug. But in company that was not something she could or would do. "I really, really like you Isaac," Amelia murmured as she moved into a slightly different position, one that would allow her to look at him without craning her neck too far. Even though she figured that he would have to know that she liked him, in fact if she was being honest she more than just liked him, she thought that it was important to let him know that. Just in case. |
Quote:
"I guess we'll see if I ever haf te take it then." he said with another laugh. He hoped he wouldn't, but everyone got sick once in awhile. And hopefully that wouldn't occur during the game! Blowing on the hot chocolate before taking a sip he felt the liquid go down his throat and start immediately to warm him through. "Mmmm, very good. Shaken I'd say, not stirred." he said with a sigh. Hearing her words a soft smile went to his eyes again. He'd been thinking on this quite a bit, and having known her now since July, he'd been thinking more and more. He hated to be apart from her, and cherished every moment they had together. He'd thought of waiting til Christmas a few weeks away, but what if something happened during the match??? "What would ye say if I said I might be more then liking ye?" he asked softly looking into her eyes. |
Quote:
"Isaac. You'll do great. I know you haven't played in an actual match before but if you weren't good enough you wouldn't be on the team. Plus, it's natural to be nervous. I think it's when you're too confident in your own abilities that things can start to go wrong. Just have fun when we play and you'll do great," not the best motivational speech ever but her words were heartfelt and that was what mattered most in her opinion. Besides, even if they didn't win the game, although she was hoping that they would, at least they'd have all given it their best. "Is that some kind of muggle movie reference or something?" Amelia asked, scrunching her face up a little in concentration. She was sure she'd heard something about stirred and shaken at some point before but she was slightly confused as to the reference. If it was a reference hopefully he'd tell her and not laugh at her for not knowing. Seeing the look in his eyes, and the soft smile he gave her Amelia felt all warm and fuzzy inside, and she was glad that she told him, even if she didn't tell Isaac the full extent of her feelings. It was nice to see that they were reciprocated. Of course it was even nicer when he implied that he said that he more than liked her. Well strongly implied, but it was the same thing in this case. "I'd say that, that would make me very happy, and that I may more than like you too," since he'd asked she could be honest, but she ducked her head as soon as she said it so that it was slightly buried in his chest. |
Quote:
Laughing at her question he nodded "I think so, but I've had a few people say thet te me te. It's got a different taste me thinks. Mixed better then just stirred. Not tried making it thet way yet though." Taking another sip he put rested the mug on the arm of the chair next to them so he was sure he'd not spill it on her if he spilled accidentally. "Have ye thought more about Christmas?" he asked casually, curious if she'd made her decision or not. If they were to stay at the school he wanted to make it memorable, and get to planning! He'd watched her reaction carefully. He wanted to make sure that he wasn't reading anything wrong. But with what she'd said he couldn't figure he would read it wrong, but you never knew. He'd been surprised at many things she'd said or other girls had in the past. A smile appeared at her words though, "I was gonna wait til Christmas but..." Why should he, was it really the timing that mattered? No, he didn't think waiting would change his mind in anyway "I love ye Amelia Serenity Pendragon." he said softly before kissing the top of her head that was partially buried into his chest. |
Quote:
Amelia simply nodded at his words, more taken in by the words that followed than anything else. Since those words were more important than a reference that was probably muggle in origin. And even though from the way the conversation had been going she was sure that he was going to say those three important words hearing them from him made her feel... Well it made her feel more than she thought that she would. She felt safer and warmer than ever and she just wanted to say them back to him, but something stopped her from repeating them. So she simply moved to hug him tighter and whispered, "Me too," hoping that he wouldn't be offended that she hadn't said that she loved him, because she did, and she would tell him that soon, just not at this very moment since they were stuck in her throat. "I think I'd like to meet your parents if you want me too," she whispered. She hadn't been planning on saying that, not really because she didn't want to impose but he loved her, and that suddenly made it much less awkward in her mind. Although she did hope that they could still spend some time alone together over the holiday because she just really wanted to be close to him. |
Quote:
He honestly was very relieved that she didn't say anything back and just nodded, he wasn't sure how he'd feel if she'd said it back right away. He just knew how he felt and wanted her to know that! Holding her tightly at the two words she said he smiled still happy just knowing that something was there, and that he loved his girl. The words didn't mean nothing it was what was behind them, then anything else. "I would love te have ye meet them, when yer ready." he said softly. If she was ready then he'd bring her for Christmas if not, maybe Easter or the summer holidays. Nothing right then mattered more then Amelia at that moment, and he was nearly bursting in happiness, so much so that he'd abandoned the mug of hot chocolate that sat balancing on the arm of the other chair. |
Quote:
"Will they like me?" Amelia asked softly, voicing the one question that she most wanted the answer too. Because as much as she liked to believe that she wouldn't care if his parents didn't approve of her she knew that she probably would. Especially if Isaac cared. She was secure in the fact that he loved her, even though he'd only just told her, mainly because she'd always felt safe with him, since the very minute that he'd introduced himself to her and helped her up off the floor. She wasn't worried that he wouldn't want to be with her after he'd asked her out. But she was worried that if his parents, who he must be close too, disapproved of her it might make their relationship difficult. And if it didn't make things too difficult it would at least make things awkward if they all had to be in the same room together at some point and she could feel disapproving stares directed at her from his parents. And if that happened then who knew what kind of stupid thing she might do to make them hate her more. And if they went from simply disapproving of her to hating her than Isaac might break up with her. And...and... Amelia began to hyperventilate slightly as she attempted with little success to get her thoughts back under control and remind herself that his parents had no reason not to like her. Unfortunately it was working too well, as her panic at the thought of his parents not liking her, as well as the panic she felt when she was inside, especially by a fire (even contained ones), grew. She had been lucky and only had an attack once, on the first night after waking from a nightmare, since coming to Hogwarts, but it appeared that her body, and mind, decided to make up for that fact now with a vengeance. |

Arya was GOOD at stuff now, so she could be of use to him if he needed a brain to pick. Heh. The spoon came out of her mouth clean and she waited til it wouldn't give her a brain freeze to swallow. "Got any favorites yet?" A shrug rolled off her shoulders lightly. "I'm doing good. Been busy studying with Treyen for NEWTs." Where was he anyways? She needed some best friend time. "Besides all the creatures roaming the grounds, it's be a quiet term." |
Quote:
Hearing her question broke him out of his train of thought, smiling softly at her he nodded "They've asked if ye'd come to Christmas because they want te meet ye." He'd never seen them not like any of his friends, and well Amelia was his first girlfriend EVER and they wanted to meet her. They'd asked questions about her but he'd only given the basics wanting her to tell them herself. "They ap..." Something was wrong he was able to sense even before she started hyperventilating. Just the way she'd gone quiet and the look on her face. "Amelia?" he asked adjusting himself so he could look at her better. When she started to hyperventilate he took the mug gently from her hand and put it next to his. "Amelia what's wrong?" he said his eyes showing worry and concern. "Jus' breathe slowly. Look at me." he added letting go of her hand and putting his hand on her chin gently to turn her head so she'd look at him. He tried to get rid of the worry in his eyes because as long as he was calm he knew that'd calm whatever it was that was making her hyperventilate. Or he hoped it would, maybe it was something that he couldn't ease! He just couldn't figure out what had set it off, was it something he'd said...or done? His parents? |
Quote:
"Thanks, Arya."He might collect that promise sometime near the future He dipped his spoon once again to the ice cream but this time he didn't take a spoonful. He already had his lesson so he's not keen to repeat that. Oh yeah, he forgot that both of his house prefect are seventh year students. "Good luck with your NEWTs, Arya. Unfortunately I can't help you with that." He's a first year after all. "But, aren't NEWTs still like ages away?" he added. |

He was right, that it would be better if she could breathe deeply and slowly, it would help her, but she just couldn't. The irrational side of herself that she tried so hard to suppress because she didn't want people to think that she wasn't normal, well as normal as she'd ever be able to appear anyway, right now that technique just wasn't working. And she wanted to calm down, for Isaac's sake because she knew that if he saw her in an all out panic attack, and not just a minor one like in Flourish and Blotts that he'd probably be scared for her but she couldn't help it. Because she felt like she couldn't breathe. And as she felt like she couldn't breathe she couldn't tell him what was wrong either. She did however allow him to move her so that she was looking him in the eyes, because he was trying to help, and because she did like him holding her, it was soothing in a way, just not enough to stop her irrational fear. And it was so stupid that she felt like she wanted to cry, because she was scared when she knew she shouldn't be. When she knew that she had nothing to worry about. |
Quote:
Maybe just talking would calm her, he didn't know. But he wanted to stay calm, though she was hyperventilating because the more nervous he was the worse she'd get! "We went through the rain forests and got te see lots of animals and creatures ye wouldn't normally see otherwise. Me favorites were the birds. Do ye like birds?" he asked keeping his eyes on hers. "The birds were beautiful, tons of colors, and even some we thought were extinct like the Nundu." Calm stay calm. He could see she was having problems breathing and that worried him a lot. Trying to adjust them so she was sitting more upright he went on "My favorite had te be the toucan though, the beak was absolutely huge!" Stroking her cheek with his thumb, his eyes didn't leave hers, and they softened even more. |
Quote:
When he asked if she liked birds Amelia shook her head slightly, hoping that he'd keep talking to her anyway because he sounded really nice right then. Gentler than she'd heard him talk before even. But then he was probably desperate to get her to calm down and so attempting to be as calm as he possibly could. Although it wasn't much helping her to calm her breathing down or forget that they were sitting near a fire and in an enclosed area, it did make her feel as if she could maybe try harder to get herself under control for him. Especially with the way he was looking at her, and how soft and careful he was being as he caressed her cheek. Maybe if he spoke for longer, even if it WAS about birds, she could try to calm down for him. And if she could even get a modicum of control, enough so that she could at least manage to talk to respond to him verbally, that would probably help him as well. |
Quote:
"It was fun watching the animals from the canoe and out of reach of the more dangerous ones, like panthers or when we tossed our leftovers of meals into the water and watched as the Piranha would snatch up all of it just swarming the boat." Erm, was that something she'd not want to hear? Well it was too late now to say anything. "The plants were fascinating te." he added. He wondered if he should move them from the kitchen. No, not unless her breathing worsened, because movement wouldn't help. But if it worsened he'd take her to the hospital wing. |
Quote:
Piranha's??? There were Piranha's that swarmed the boat because they thought feeding them would be a good idea??? Isaac could have been seriously hurt, or eaten by those carnivorous fish and he was talking about it like it was a jolly good time or something. Was he insane?? She was attempting to calm down so that she wouldn't faint from lack of oxygen, although she did feel that fainting was becoming more or less inevitable at this point, and Isaac was apparently attempting to give her a heart attack by mentioning how close to death he'd come while in Brazil. Even though she was aware that he was only trying to help the knowledge that he could have been goneskies before she even got a chance to know him wasn't a comforting one. Not a comforting one at all. Which was why she grabbed onto him tightly to reassure herself that he was whole and safe and not in any danger of being eater by a dangerous animal at the moment. Although if she ever managed to get her breathing back under control, which as it hadn't gotten any better she doubted, she might just feed him to the fishes. Or at least toss him in the lake, or throw snow at him or something. Because she didn't want him to be hurt. |
Quote:
"How about I tell ye about the day we met?" he said with a soft smile. "All I'd done was go inte a shop hoping fer a bunch of books te hold me over til the end of term. And I found ye." Nope he wasn't going to talk nothing about how he'd found her nor how worried he'd been. The smile was still on his face though as he thought back to that day. "I remember being so nervous, because even though I was just looking at a new friend, I was still finding this person fascinating and wanted te get te know her the best I could." His thumb move over her cheek again as he looked down at her "I think thet was the best day of me life was actually meeting ye. I wouldn't haf changed a thing." |
Quote:
He'd been nervous? Was that why he did the winking so much? Because it had kind of seemed like a tick at one point. Not that she was complaining because he'd been charming and he was still charming. Especially with saying it was the best day of his life. Although if she was to pick a day it would have to be today. Because he said he loved her, therefore it topped meeting him. But only just. Plus she liked hearing him talk about that day, and the way he was putting things he was being very sweet. With said knowledge she decided to give him a tentative smile, relaxing herself just slightly so that she wasn't sitting as tensely. Her breathing was still something that wasn't completely under her control but her breaths were a bit slower and deeper than before. Not by much, but by enough that she actually felt like she was taking in air when she gasped for breath instead of feeling as if she was taking in absolutely nothing at all. Unfortunately she was feeling rather dizzy and lightheaded due to her previous lack of oxygen. Although that would hopefully be rectified soon. |
Quote:
He could tell she was starting relax by the way she sat there and her breathing. It wasn't normal yet, but it was getting there. "The thing I was hoping at the same time as thet wish was te maybe one day haf the courage te ask ye out. I never thought..." Turning pink he look down briefly before looking back into her eyes "Never thought I'd find meself falling in love with ye. Not then I didn't." "Now, I can't imagine why it took so long." It felt like an eternity though it'd only been 5 months! Was it truly love? Who knew, he'd turned 16 a few months previous but this was his first girlfriend too. Either way he was happier then he'd ever been in his life, and that day had started it all! |
Quote:
Although she wasn't so sure about that not thinking he could love her part. That bit maybe wasn't so nice. But then again they had only started out with the intention of being friends, and while she'd hoped for more she hadn't been going to say anything to him. At least not until he accosted her on the train. That was also a good memory, despite the fact they'd been trapped in an enclosed space and had heaps of people around them. Just the thought made her brighten up and made it much easier for her to push through the panic she felt and get her breathing under some semblance of control. It wasn't normal yet, but at least she wasn't hyperventilating, and she was drawing enough breath for her to actually speak. "I'm sorry," she whispered, lowering her eyes from his in embarrassment and shame. It was one thing for him to know she had panic attacks, it was quite another for him to learn through witnessing one, just how out of control of her own body she could get. In fact she was still fighting against crying due to frustration at her herself. Although she seemed to actually be winning against that because she was much happier than frustrated. |
Quote:
"Fer what?" he asked softly trying to see her face but wasn't going to turn it towards him until she was ready. It could be anything really that made her sorry but he didn't care what the reason was he was still proud of her. She'd gotten through this panic attack and he knew that she could get through any others and he'd help her if he could then too. He just knew to stay away from birds or any animals really! No bugs, birds, animals, small enclosed spaces, crowds, just good happy thoughts and they'd be fine. He didn't mind any of that because they had lots of memories about their time together and he was positive that they'd be making even more memories over the coming days, months and maybe even years! |
