It was such a nice day outside, the weather was mild, not quite warm but not cold either, and it was perfect for the first lesson of the term. Seren stood just inside the entrance to greenhouse two, waiting for the students to arrive. It was fairly dark in here, with creeping ivy curling an crawling its way up the sides of the glass panels, but there was still enough light to see clearly.
Tapping her heel excitedly and stroking the moving tendrils of a nearby ivy, Seren waited patiently for the students to arrive. "Just form a group here please," she said to them indicating to the area just in front of her. Yes that's right... just stand there, no need for sitting just yet, or at all.
OOC: The lesson has officially started, do not announce yourself arriving from this point onward, just pretend as if you've been here the whole time. If you haven't done so already then please read through the Herbology Rules and Expectations and the SS Site Rules. All SS Board Rules apply. IC rule breaking will result in IC punishment, OOC rule breaking will result in OOC punishment. Please behave appropriately and most importantly... have fun. If you have any questions don't hesitate to send me a PM.
Eino wasn't looking forward to Herbology. For the past two years he had lost much of his interest in the subject. He wasn't sure if he was going to take his Herbology OWL, maybe for an easy grade, but he would rather fail at something exciting than pass a dull subject. Still, he had to attend classes before making up his mind, which, if it wasn't for his grandparents, it would already be made it. He lazily made his way to the stuffy greenhouse, hardly believing he ever enjoyed it, only to see her, who had become, ever since becoming the Gryffindor Head of House, less appealing to him. You know what they say, "A Slytherin may trick you into a dragon's den, but only a Gryffindor would make you feel bad for not going in with them." Still, he tried to be indifferent to it. His cousin had poisoned his mind with all kinds of gibberish over the summer, but the problem was Eino thought they were true and accurate. Once inside, he made his way to the same spot where else was and waited for class to end.

After making sure that Xavier wasn't in a position where he would get too much direct sunlight - he got really agitated and tried to pull out Walnut's hair more than usual when the plant was in that state - Kurumi had tied her hair back in a pony tail and made her way to the greenhouses for Herbology. The class was always very hands on, so having her hair falling loosely around her shoulders and down her back wasn't the greatest of ideas, especially if there was the potential for pixies to be involved.
Kurumi was a bit surprised when Professor Bentley indicated for them to not sit down just yet and couldn't help but wrinkle her nose slightly at the ivy that was...moving. Please don't let this one have fangs or attract pixies...
"Good day, Professor Bentley," Kurumi smiled as she took a standing position beside her new Head of House, her eyes eyeing how the professor toyed with the plant so care freely.

Cornelius approached the greenhouses for his first Hogwarts Herbology lesson, slight curiosity on his expression as he crossed the grassy grounds over to where the class was gathering together. He took a moment to look around, a slight smile on his expression as he wondered what exactly this class would be like. At his old school, they had learned a bit of Herbology, but Hogwarts had already proved itself different than any other school he'd been to. Cornelius near immediately saw the professor standing near the greenhouse and approached her with a friendly smile, readjusting his book bag on his shoulder as he stood before her.
"Good morning, Professor Bentley," he greeted with a polite nod. "I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Cornelius Rune. I'm new to Hogwarts this year." He figured he should at least introduce himself to each of his professors, it was only polite. "I'm looking forward to your class," he added with another brief nod. With that, he stepped back into the crowd of students, standing in the midst of the group and glancing over the heads of some of the shorter students, starting to look around for anyone he knew.

Another herbology class. Huft
Raven walked to the greenhouse without any enthusiast feeling. She was not good in Herbology. But this term, she tried to enjoy it. She arrived at the class and greeted the Professor.
"Professor Bentley, good day." said her. She gave her a fake smile.
Mom says I have no sense of direction, so I packed my bags and right.
Hello Professor Bentley, how've you been? Oakey came in with a smile. Oakey was all cheerful and what not, for he had just gotten a letter from Harvey. Telling him that the 6 year old child who began living with them at the end of this summer was indeed Harvey's nephew.

However, it was no secret that Selina slept late in the Gryffindor Common Room. So, Kurumi had decided it would be a brilliant idea to set Selina's alarm clock right next to her ear when she went to sleep last night. The usually unbelievably heavy sleeper had woken up to the sound of ringing in her ears. In fact, the clock was so loud that she fell out of her bed from fright. That was why she was now walking down the the Greenhouse with time to spare.
As she rounded the corner to see Greenhouse number two Selina entered the door. She saw Professor Bentley the Gryffindor Head of House just as she stepped inside the Greenhouse. It was so nice to see Bentley again and she smiled at her Professor, "Morning ma'am, I mean Professor."
Then she did as she was told and filled into the hoard of students now filling the greenhouse.
Next up in the schedule of classes was Herbology it seemed and with it still early in the fall, the weather was beautiful for time spent out of doors, or at least in the greenhouses. Gideon made his way down after grabing a quick bite of breakfast, ready and willing for the subject's first lesson of the term. "Good day Professor Bentley," he greeted with a polite and gentle smile as he entered the correct greenhouse and spotted her and the already gathered students inside. Hearing her instructions, he simply nodded and came just a few steps further within the greenhouse so he'd be inside the area suggested but not blocking others from entering after him.
Spotting Selina, he inched closer to the younger girl. "Good morning to ye too Selina." he greeted with a unconsciously brighter smile. It seemed she had managed to beat him to class despite the early time.
Cass walked into the greenhouse along with a few other students and looked around, eyeing the vines that were creeping up the glass panes surrounding the greenhouses. They looked really scary - like if you misbehaved in class, they could creep up right behind you then abduct you...but of course, she wasn't going to say that out loud. No need to cause unnecessary panic or embarrassment
"Good day Professor Bentley!" The Slytherin greeted enthusiastically as she walked over to stand with the rest of the class. She didn't used to be a big fan of Herbology, but ever since that greenhouse clean up that they had, you could say that the plants just sort of grew on her Grew on her, get it?
Carigan walked into the herbology greenhouse and breathed in the scent of soil. SHe loved plants and was excited to get started. She wore her special herbology gloves and had her incredibly long hair braided then tied into a large bun at the top of her head to avoid getting soil in it or any of the plants biting her hair off or anything of the sort. She was both excited to work with plants and nervous because she had never worked with any magical plants.

Jen waited patiantly for the professor to begin the lesson. Part of her mind concentrating on the diferent types of plants she read about another part concentrating on charms and another part on DADA. She couldn't wait untill DADA

Alyssa turned around to see who had bumped into her. 'Geesh! I know that it's kinda dark in here but there's still enough light to see.,'Alyssa thought to herself before she realized it was Oakey. Her frown instantly turned into a smile. "Hey hi there Oakey. No worries. I know that it's kinda dark in here, so it is difficult to see where you're going."she told Oakey.
'Hmmm, I wonder why the Professor has it so dark in here?'Alyssa thought to herself. 'Knowing the Professor it must have something to do with what we're going to be working on today. I can't wait.'Alyssa thought to herself getting excited and hoping that the lesson would start soon.

Yeah, I suppose it does, doesn't it? He agreed with her in a whisper.
Oakey probably didn't need to whisper. It was just the setting, a crowded space in the dark. Who wouldn't whisper in this place.
"Hi, professsor!" She said cheerfully while waving her hand as she passed Professor Bentley. She quickly went to Alyssa as soon as she saw her.
"Hey, Liz, is Penny here?" She asked her. "Oh, hi, Oakey."

Herbology. Gooooood ol' herbology. If Ellie didn't need it to be a healer, she would just happily skip over it, but she figured it would be good to know for working in St. Mungo's. So. There she was. In Herbology class.
"Hello, Professor," she greeted with a friendly smile as she slipped into the group of students. Well. Looks like no one else wanted to take Herbology at NEWT level. She was all alone. D:
Kennedy adjusted the strap of his messenger bag as he arrived to greenhouse two. He noticed the dimness of the room, although it wasn't quite dark. He also noticed the moving ivy.
O__O
It wasn't poisonous right?
He would keep his distance just in case. Kennedy treasured his health and limbs too much to get near it. He did though, greet the lovely professor. "H-Hello, Professor Bentley," he said, his cheeks changing to a shade of light red. Why was he nervous AND why were his cheeks burning?!
Oh no. It had to do with what he discovered during the Herbology final. He thought Bentley was pretty. GASP.
Tahnee walked towards the greenhouses excitedly, her wavy brown hair contained in a french braid that fell down her back. Hello Professor Bentley! she said cheerfully. Out of all her classes, Herbology and a few others sounded like the most fun by a long shot, so she couldn't wait to begin her first class!
Walking in the first thing Prue noticed was how the room was darker. Looking up she saw the teacher at the front of the class, so walked passed the older boy on the ground to join the ever growing group in front of the teacher. "Hello Professor Bentley!" she greeted happily, Herbology was among her favourite lessons, and it helped that her head of house was the teacher. However, she didn't think Professor Bentley would be too happy that they had already lost house points...
Okay, so, he really didn't know what he was doing in Herbology, but he came nonetheless. Proud, Bentley, you should be proud that we're here. "Good day, Professor." He greeted the woman with a nod, not with a smile, yet there was a small smile on his face.

Snort.
Such a silly thought.
But then he noticed one person he hadn't seen in a while. "So, you're in Ravenclaw." He pointed out. His robes dictated so, "Congrats." That was a good house. Actually, they all were.
Sophie entered the greenhouse smiling, but not in her most-excited state, since her mother was a naturalist and herbology researcher, so she was used to being... surrounded by weird plants. Actually, she didn't really care about plants all that much. At least not like her mother. "Good day, professor!" she greeted the witch as she passed by.

The Herbology professor was standing by the door. "Hello," she said timidly. "I'm Jessie," she said as she passed by.
Once inside the greenhouse, Jessie had a look around. These plants were...well, magical! Some where huge, almost tree-like! Some could fit in the palm of her hand. Jessie wandered around while she waited for class to start.

She spotted Jessie and Carigan and waved at them. She really liked both of her new friends, but felt like meeting new people. She looked around and saw a little girl that seemed around her age.

Hm... no Alec or Asher yet...
So she decided on a spot toward the back and off to the side a bit. She still didn't know very many people yet.
Walking to the back of the group, Sophie stood beside the girl that was wearing Gryffindor's robes. "Hi there." she said smiling. It was her chance to make friends that were not from her own house. "I'm Sophie!"

Walking to the first herbology lesson of the term, Ivory felt mixed feelings of anticipation and worry building in her stomach. She hadn't stepped foot in the greenhouses since the day she'd left Hogwarts midterm the previous year. Not only had she left behind her responsibilities as a prefect, but she'd left her friends, essentially her family away from home...not to mention she'd left her education; Hogwarts education that is. What if they covered something she was supposed to have known from the last semester? What if they had a pop quiz? Sure during her time away she'd voraciously kept up with her independent studying but what about the practical part???
Taking a calming breath, the brunette concentrated on the crunch of fall leaves beneath her feet as she walked slowly to the second greenhouse. There was no use counting her chickens before they hatched. Best to not get ahead of herself. Besides, she'd always loved herbology and it would do her no good to go in there wound up tight. Plants sensed those kinds of things after all. At least, she liked to think they did. A bit more relaxed now, she let her mouth perk up in a friendly smile as she noticed the Professor just inside the entrance. "Good day, Professor Bentley," she greeted as she stepped just nearby where the group was forming. "Beautiful day for a lesson."

Julien looked up from his notebook, grinning as he noticed Treyen standing there. But honestly, though, if one more person was going to state the obvious about him being in Ravenclaw...he's was going to ask Juliet to scream. No sense in straining his vocal cords.
"Thank you," Julien nodded, scratching behind his ear. "I'd congratulate you on being in Hufflepuff...but I'm guessing I'm six years too late, huh?"

Herbology. Her favorite subject and her favorite professor.
"Hi Professor Bentley." Harlow beamed and she threw her arms around the woman's legs. She hugged her tight and let her go in case someone else wanted to hug her. Professor Bentley always smelled like juniper and tea, which Harlow thought was an appealing combination.

Herbology. Stella still wasn't entirely sure whether she was good at the subject or not, but she wasn't about to drop classes just because of one lesson last term that had been a bit frightening. There was every possibility they wouldn't be up against manic pixies again this lesson, and she still liked Professor Bentley even though the woman was now the Gryffindor head of house. That didn't mean she'd necesarily be biased, after all.
She'd still made sure her hair was tightly braided before this lesson, though. It always paid to be prepared for anything, and she blinked as her eyes had to adjust to the dimness of the greenhouse. "Bonjour, Professor Bentley," she said with a smile once she'd located the professor. Yes, she'd ntentionally used French, but then she figured if it had amused Professor Bentley last term, it wouldn't be to bad if she continued it. At least a little. She was still curious what they were going to be working with this lesson, and as soon as she found a position in the cleared out area, she started looking around. All she could see was ivy, but that didn't mean the lesson wouldn't be interesting.

Kendra walked into the stifling heat of the greenhouses and up to the professor. 'Good Morning Professor Bentley.' Kendra greeted the professor politely as all the other students were, and proceded to head to a spot in the middle, getting out her book and resting it on the bench. She had rolled her sleeves up but hadn't bothered tying her hair up for this lesson. It was so short anyway. 'Hi' she greeted the person next to her, no clue who they were.
