Large quantities of food are spread before you. Whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the Hogwarts' house elves are the best in the world. The food is superb and the company is as well.
The house poem, penned by All4oliverwood:
Get up off of your seats
Ready for some fun?
You ain't seen nothin' yet
For this years just begun
Friends are rollin' in
It's faces old and new
Nothing comes between us
Dear Gryffindors be true
Outside of the castle
Ready for things to fly
Lions are soaring strong
In a game that's do or die
On this autumn night
Near the crimson fireplace
Solid friendships forming
People so full of grace
Rockin' the competition
In a race for the house cup
Doing everything we can
Earning points to keep us up
Reeling for a win
Us Lions gettin' it done
Loyality guiding us through
Everyone working as one
"Maybe you just need to talk to someone about it all." Maxwell said hoping not to further anger Tay. "My sisters are 8 and 10, the older one just got accepted at Beauxbatons and as far as i know the other one is a Muggle like her filthy Git of a Father." Maxwell said with Malice entering his voice. He could feel the Iris of his eyes turning blood red and hoped that Tay wouldn't think he was weird.
"Sorry i didnt mean to tell you all that." Taylor looked away and muttered, "Especially to a stranger..... must think i am rude and mean anyways..." About Beauxbaton, Tay said quietly, "She got into an awesome school." She silently sighed. Taylor looked at him again with shocked clearly written on her face, with a trace of fear when he had an outburst about the other sister. Tay was speechless for a few moments, "You....you... you don't like muggles?" She was glad that she wasn't muggleborn right now. Taylor took a bit of pride since she was a pureblood anyways.

Maxwell blinked quickly when he realized how he had sounded. "No! I'm sorry i've nothing against Muggles, just that particular Muggle. He abused me and treated me like some sort of Animal simply because i was different." Maxwell rubbed his eyes and they went back to normal. "I'm sorry for my appearance, i can't control that when i'm angry, I guess it's that little bit of Metamorphagus in me coming out." He said with a nervous laugh.

Taylor gave a half smile, "That is good that you have nothing against muggles." When he told her about what that one muggle was like and how he mistreated Maxwell, Tay couldn't help but reach and take a hold of his hand. She gave it a light squeeze of sympathy and let it go. Taylor realized what she had done and stuttered out," so...so... sorry." Her cheeks went a light pink then faded back to her normal pale skin. "I don't know what made me do that." Her face went to a blank slate look with no emotions. Tay thought it was better to be emotionless than to shoe emotion and get hurt, with included the sympathy she felt for Maxwell.

"It's all right, there's nothing to say sorry about. I'll never see that awful excuse for a man again and should I after I graduate here he's not going to know what hit him." He said with his Malice returning but his eyes retaining their color. Maxwell noticed Tay blushing and wanted to help her to not feel embarrassed. "Sometimes it's stronger to show your feelings and emotions than to hide them." He said in an encouraging voice.
sorry my spelling/ grammar is horrible right now lol

"That is good that you will never see him again." When he said that it is sometimes stronger to show your feelings and emotions, she replied in a monotone voice without the hint of any emotion or feeling, "How is that? I do not see how that can be true." Her eyes were still empty but she wasn't lifeless, just had any trace of humanity locked away deep inside of her. Tay learnt how to hide her emotions and feelings when she found out about her father dieing.

"Well, sometimes it's harder to show your Emotions therefore it takes strength to show, and sometimes" Maxwell hoped this next part wouldn't be taken wrongly "It's more weak to pretend you have none, just to save yourself pain you'll still feel." Maxwell tried to put it so gently to seem as if he was trying to help.

A wave of shame, hurt and anger combined spread across her face before she could stop it. The shame and hurt was locked up after a while but Taylor let the little bit of anger stay. The anger was so slight that it was hardly noticeable but Maxwell seems to notice a lot. "Have you ever thought that the pain could be too bad for someone to handle?" She would of narrowed her eyes in a glare shot towards him if she wasn't trying to fight off a wave of sadness and hurt that was trying to get out at the thought of all that happened in a year.

Maxwell was unwavering as he continued to speak. "But if you share with someone who cares about you, you won't have to go through it alone, or worry about it being too much for you to handle alone. because you won't be alone." Maxwell smiled faintly. "All you need is a friend you can talk to."

Taylor simply replied, "I broke down only one day in front of one of my friends.... the day my father died." She looked away. It didn't end well when she broke down though she was still really good friends with that friend. The anger was gone. She looked back up at him and a look of longing but caution appeared in its place though that disappeared within seconds. "I decided that day to not show many emotions."
I Can Accept Failure. But I Can't Accept Not Trying
As the day progressed, Jordan felt really hungry and wanted to eat badly. So he hurried over to the Great Hall, and took a seat at the Gryffindor House Table. There, he could socialize with any Gryffindors he knew. But for right now, he decided to stuff his face with whatever he could get his gigantic hands on!

Kurumi just sat there. Sat there feeling numb and lost.
What was going on? Kurumi could feel a mixture of emotions bubbling up inside her just waiting to erupt like a volcano. And they did...in the form of tears. Tears began to stream down the Gryffindor's face like liquid fire at the Ravenclaw's words. So many images brought back to her mind and she shut her eyes tight, hands on either side of her head to cover her ears, as if doing so would make it all stop.
She just wanted to be back home in Japan now. At her mother's bedside. Not here. Hogwarts had never felt so empty to her as it had these past few weeks. Jonathan had had to return home and, while he wrote her often and she wrote him, it just wasn't the same. She needed HIM. His comforting embrace and soothing voice...but she didn't have that. And now...clearly she didn't have Treyen either.
Her eyes flew open when she heard Treyen command her to stay...and she was hesitant to listen to this request. And then...Ellie spoke more and Kurumi felt her insides knotting up and breaking even more. The splotches on her hair of discoloration began to morph more, turning her entire head a sickly blue color. She didn't even care now that she was a bloody mood ring for the entire Great Hall to see. None of that mattered anymore. The only thing that matter was the very thing that was slowly slipping through her fingers.
Too much. This was all too much. The Gryffindor had already been broken and now she was more so. No. She was shattered.
Suddenly jumping to her feet, her eyes still focused on the ground, Kurumi's hands balled into tight fists. She wanted to...but she wouldn't. She couldn't. That wouldn't solve anything and her mother wouldn't want it. She now looked up at Ellie, hot tears still streaming down her face and found her voice.
"My mother is DYING you selfish brainless Claw."
And then, Kurumi lost the will power to stand.

Had her eyes deceived her? Because...that's what it all meant, no? She wasn't upset because he was talking to Kurumi, she was upset because she thought they were doing something else?
No, no, no and no. They'd been talking, that was all. This was just a misunderstanding. The worst misunderstanding of all time. He started to shake his head before speaking. Ellie was wrong, and most importantly, she didn't trust him at all.
What did you do when your girlfriend probably thought you were a liar and a cheater? It'd be extremely difficult for her to believe his words, right? And if she didn't believe...they were done. This was over. He was sure that she wouldn't want to be his girlfriend anymore, and what was the point anyway WHEN there was no trust on her behalf? It wasn't fair to either of them if she will be doubting his every word.
THAT was what hurt the most, that she wouldn't believe everything he'd said or will say, because he was only speaking the truth. He's always told her the truth.
"No, wait." He needed her to understand. Treyen only kneeled in front of her so he could see into her eyes if she decided to look down, "I asked you to be my girlfriend because I wanted you to be my girlfriend, because I didn't want to date anyone else but you, because you're the only girl I want. So, yes, I want us to be exclusive." Even after this whole thing. Because never mind the fact that she was being unreasonable, there was a small part of reason to her outburst.
But, honestly, all she had was his word, what more did she want?
Why did he get angry? Really? "The way you're acting...it isn't fair." To Kurumi. "This isn't what it seems." They weren't doing anything, nor had he wanted for something to happen either. How to make her see he was telling the truth, eh?
No, Ellie, just no. She was getting it all WRONG. "What position are you talking about?" they were sitting next to each other. He couldn't do that?
His heart was breaking into a million pieces, his mind was pretty much coming up with the worst possible outcome for this situation.
Whatever she thought she'd seen...simply wasn't. "Yes." Just talking. And trying to make her eat something.
The Head Boy looked back at Kurumi when he noticed she'd stood. Again, they were the ones that should be leaving, not her. BUT, she wasn't leaving. His eyes landed on her hands, which were closed into fists and he stood up as well. Something was very wrong, because even her hair held that blue color he didn't like. And the tears, AGAIN, tears he'd managed to erase from her faces back at the library. Yet he knew it would be extremely dangerous to go and hold her, so he just stayed put.
>__<
So much for not telling anyone what she'd told him, right Kurumi?
AND...good thing he was standing or he wouldn't have been able to prevent her from hitting the floor, had she not landed on the bench, of course. "Healer?" if she wasn't going to eat, she needed some vitamins at least, or Merlin knows what.
Granted, when he said Healer, his mind thought of Moretti, because she was needed in THIS situation. He needed her to give him chocolate and tell him things will be alright.
"That's what we were talking about, Ellie, in case you were wondering." About Kurumi's mother.

Oh.
Treyen was on the ground. Kneeling.
Another memory flashed across her mind. Only this one wasn't quite as clear. Because at the time it happened, Ellie hadn't been paying much attention to the situation. She had only wanted to be left alone, but Treyen had been on the floor. Kneeling. Forcing her to pay attention. To believe him.
And she had, hadn't she? It had taken longer than that train ride had allowed, but she had come to believe him. That he had been sorry, at least. That he was telling the truth so...
She nodded.
But. "What are you doing, then?" Distorted image or not, Treyen had crossed some line with Kurumi. The line between where Ellie could easily tell that they were having a friendly conversation, and where she'd gotten insecure, where she remembered those hurtful things.
'This isn't what it seems'. "Explain." Now or later, it didn't matter. She hated to think poorly of Treyen, but what else was she to think? If it seemed one way, but wasn't, she'd need some sort of explanation.
Honestly, though? He was THERE! He very well knew what position he was in! Actually, he would know better than Ellie would because she'd manipulated what she'd seen so badly. Her eyes stung as if they were about to tear up and she allowed her lip to slide between her teeth. She just couldn't answer that question. Not without crying. And Merlin help her, she was NOT going to cry.
Instead of answering, her eyes drifted back to Kurumi a few moments before the Gryffindor suddenly stood, noting the awful change of hair color. And her behavior was much unlike what Ellie'd ever seen from her before. In any other circumstance, Ellie would quite enjoy this demeanor. She was secretly annoyed by Kurumi's naive and timid nature, always having others protecting her. Only, this was not how she wanted to experience guts-y Kurumi. Not when the malevolent attitude was towards her.
The insult hit her, probably with much less of a sting than Kurumi had intended. Because Ellie was able to tune out the 'selfish brainless Claw' part.
Her mother was DYING?
That was the most awful thing imaginable. No, it was SO terrible, it WASN'T imaginable.
Ellie looked back at Treyen for a moment, as he explained that that was what they were talking about. See, Treyen? She WAS a horrible person. Her mouth opened without words coming out of it. She felt MORE sick than before, and for a completely different reason now. "I'm so sorry," she said to Kurumi. But perhaps the Prefect couldn't hear her? "I'm so sorry. Truly, I am."
She stood with the mindset of excusing herself now. She should leave. She could talk more in-depth with Treyen later, but she really SHOULD leave now.

But, as it was, Kurumi was becoming more and more numb to the world. No. Ellie. She did not hear the whispered apology and even if she had chances were Kurumi would have drawn her wand and done something that she may or may not regret later.
Her eyes were back on Ellie now and they too had changed colors. No longer the usual violet color, they were black. Solid black. She wanted to say something to the girl, but her voice was gone. Everything was gone. She just wanted to go but her legs were not working either.
Slowly, one of her smallish hands searched for the sleeve of Treyen's robes, looking for something to hold on to. Something to tell her that she was still here and grounded and awake. That this all wasn't just some horrible nightmare...although she wished with her heart of hearts that it was. When she found it, she grabbed onto the fabric as if it were a lifeline and her empty eyes remained firmly locked on Ellie.

August had been looking from the Ravenclaw Quidditch captain, to the Head Boy to the Gryffindor Prefect, the last of which, was the only one he was really friend with and as it seemed by Kurumi's sad expression, where Ellie's anger was targeted. What was her problem, why would someone pick on Kurumi?
Just as he thought about telling Taryn he would be right back so that he could go help her with the older students, how, he had no idea when something strange happened. Kurumi's usually dark hair began to turn sickly green. What in the WORLD?!
O___________o
Auggie was shocked. What was that? Did Ellie cast a spell on her? Then something worse than what he had just witnessed happened in the form of a shout from the Gryffindor Prefect. Her mother was dying.
What.......? Auggie felt goosebumps rise up his arms and then onto the back of his neck. Kurumi's mom was sick? Why hadn't she ever mentioned this to him? The forth year was all sorts of confused and, kind of hurt. They were good friends, she knew she could trust in these things with him.
Turning back to Taryn, who was still seated, he swallowed hard and then spoke. "We should go." And then took her hand to lead her away, a vacant look on his usually cheerful face. Treyan or the nurse could help Kurumi right now. He would have to talk to her later.

Ellie had nodded, and he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing, but at least she wasn't disagreeing with what he was saying. Must be a good thing she was nodding, it meant she was understanding, yes? And she should understand him. Right now.
What it was he was doing? "I was only trying to be a good friend." Trying to cheer her up somehow, to take care of her in the times where she most needed a friend, to talk to her, and maybe take her mind off some things. Something that seemed mighty impossible now. Thanks, Ellie.
He supposed there was little to explain after Kurumi's outburst, yes? But he'll explain whatever his girlfriend wanted him to explain...later on. Not now, because that hardly seemed necessary at a moment when Kurumi's eyes...were black?!
WHAT?!
Where had her violet eyes gone to?? Actually, Ellie should leave. And it wasn't until now that Ellie apologized, he didn't know if Kurumi had heard her or not, but he was most concerned with the fact that Kurumi might take that piece of fabric that belonged to his shirt with her, well, not the piece of fabric per say, but the reaction the Captain had caused the Prefect. His eyes were on Ellie, "You should leave." Nod. "We'll talk later." So, Eliana Stone, don't go too far up in the castle.
Back to the Gryffindor Prefect, "Kurumi? Should I take you to the Healer?" she should say something, a 'No' would suffice, but she needed to talk, because his heart, or whatever was left of it, was starting to race pretty fast. He needed her to snap out of it, NOW.
"Why? what point does it serve to go through something like that alone? to show everyone else you're stronger than them? Because i don't see that as strong or admirable." Maxwell said still trying to be delicate. "You're hiding from who you are."
"Maybe it isnt like pretending or showing someone that you are stronger rather then just not wanting to deal with it." She wasn't angery anymore just tired from trying to have a blank slate as a face. The tiredness was starting to show. "Maybe i'm hiding the part that i rather not acknowledge." Taylor had her face in her hands and her elbows on the table.

Maxwell noticed Tay was starting to seem tired, so instead of arguing he just said "Maybe, but maybe not." Maxwell smirked. "All I'm going to say is sometimes Ignorance isn't best."
Her eyes never left Kurumi after she apologized. Frankly, she was terrified of the Gryffindor at the moment. Her, admittedly pretty, eyes had turned not so pretty. Black.
What the hell did black mean?!
It COULDN'T be good. Ellie felt that if she ever looked away, Kurumi'd attack in a split second. And Kurumi was smart. She actually reads books and the like. She probably knew way more spells than Ellie did. Despite her OWL score, she's really only mastered about three offensive spells. And maybe two defensive ones. So...
Treyen's words were clearly heard, but gone unacknowledged. That is, until he spoke what she was already thinking. It wasn't necessary, really, for him to state it. Because now it felt as if she were being kicked out. But it really was the best idea at the moment, wasn't it? And he understood that she had wanted to talk. 'Had' being the keyword because she was fairly scared of having this 'talk' with him now.
Ellie nodded again, and began backing up, eyes on Kurumi. When she reached her personal 'safe distance', the same she used for books and spiders and other things scary, she turned and left.
She'll be....find-able.

Taylor played with her hair slightly, "Ignorance could be the safest and less hurtful though." She knew that was stupid of her to say espeically being a ravenclaw but she didnt want to get hurt any more. Her father dieing was too much since she never really had a mother. Her twin drifting away was the last straw.

"Ignorance is never safe, life falling apart is no reason to stop living. The only thing to do in that situation is to start life again." 'She needs a friend.' Maxwell thought to himself. 'Someone she can trust' "Look I'm not gonna tell you what to do. But if you need a friend and do want to actually talk about the feelings we both know you have, I'll listen and there will be no judgement."

"I didn't stop living, Maxwell." That one sentence was laced with a little anger and indignity. Her tone lessen to a little less harsh for the next part, "I have a few friends but i dont want to bother them with it." What she really meant was that she didnt want to accidently snap at them again and almost lose them as friends, "I told you too much as it is." Tay was beganing to get a little self concious now, "And anyways we just met so why would you care?" She didnt say that part with any harsh tone but more of a confused and questioning tone. Her eyes had a look of longing and confusion in them. "You probably think i am crazy for ranting to you and you not really knowing me." Her cheeks were becoming pinker every second now.
"I didn't stop living, Maxwell." That one sentence was laced with a little anger and indignity. Her tone lessen to a little less harsh for the next part, "I have a few friends but i dont want to bother them with it." "Life without emotion is no life." Maxwell said very simply. "And i care because you're a person, if you could help someone who was hurting wouldn't you?" He said taking a sip of his pumpkin juice. "I don't think you're crazy i think you just have a troubling life and you're telling me these things because you want to tell someone and i'm curious enough to ask the questions." Maxwell wasn't sure what kind of response he would get and he wasn't afraid of it being an angry one, he wanted to help Tay but wasn't sure she'd ever let him.

Tay had to admit he was right about the no life thing. She nodded to his question, "I would." Taylor looked down at her cup that refilled and took a sip or two. "Not crazy that i half broke down in front of a stranger, telling him some of my history?" Tay looked at him and raised an eyebrow, "That isn't crazy? If not crazy then perhaps patheic?" She didnt add 'and weak' though she wanted to.

Kurumi thought that with Ellie leaving everything would calm down, but her body was still so tense, so out of control that nothing changed. Her eyes were still the same and her hair was showing no hint of reverting back. Not that she was even aware of these changes to begin with, however.
When Treyen spoke again, her head snapped around to face him, and her expression was a mixture of emotions that were all masked by the darkness of her eyes. She didn't want to be in HERE, that was for sure, but going to the Healer was also not an appealing notion since she was pretty sure that that woman had daggers for her based on what had been said in the nursery.
Still, anywhere was better than here, and the Gryffindor nodded. "Just get me out of here..." she whimpered. And yes, the Healer was probably the best place to go right now.

"No, you're not crazy or pathetic. A pathetic person would have walked away out of fear of what i would think of them, you clearly don't care what i think which is admirable." Maxwell drank some more pumpkin juice and continued. "If it'll open you up to talking and having normal feelings i can share a little about me if you'd like." Maxwell said with a friendly smile.

Taylor lowered her head and let a smile grow on her face though she tried to cover it with her cup, pretending to take a sip of her drink. When Maxwell said the second part, Tay raised her eyes but not her head and glanced at him with her eyebrows raised in a little bit of a questioning and curiously look. She was cautious though and so she didn't say anything. Taylor wanted to see what he did and wondered if he would take her silence as a go ahead.
