As you wander down the Hallways you notice a new door along the Eastern wall. Was it there last term? Quite possibly....as you approach the door you see a notice attached which reads:
Attention All Students!
This is the Staff Room. Under no circumstance should a student pass through this door. Any student caught on the other side will be sent to detention immediately, no questions asked! Continous violations could result in suspention!
Being a curious student you try the door knob....locked! Well, better not try again or risk detention....

She should lighten up on him. She'd changed rather drastically from her Hogwarts days. The giant glasses had gone for one thing.
Althea did smile and WAS about to say something conversational, but then the article caught her attention and she glared at the newspaper.
"A Blacksmith?" Ridiculous. She snapped the paper shut crossly and slid it across the table to Josephina, crossing her arms across her chest and causing her tattoo to retreat in apparent alarm under her sleeve once more.
Hogwarts was DAMNED lucky to have her and the Daily Prophet CLEARLY hadn't done any research.
Thea didn't much care about the slander towards whoever the former healer was, or the Law Enforcement branch of the ministry, or even towards Tate who had already turned Althea frosty towards him, but she was proud of her own achievements and immediately irritated to be reduced to 'blacksmith' when really there was so much more to what she did and she truly WAS the best in her damned field.
She sipped her drink and sat there trying to calm herself down, but building into a frosty sort of tension all the same, as if the temperature of the room had suddenly dropped several degrees.
"Well that's not really fair to say." Everett frowned a bit as he sat up in his chair. "Its quite hard to forget someone like me." He had been tempted to say someone as amazing as him, but he felt as though that would have been a little too big headed.
Everett had not forgotten about Althea. He had simply not recognized her. So really that had nothing to do with his memory.
"You've changed quite a bit." He noted, hoping she wouldn't take it as an insult or something. He hadn't meant for it to be an insult but even at 32, the female mind was still a mystery to him. They were unpredictable.
His eyes drifted down to the paper that was in Althea's hands. Oh. The Prophet. Really, it was a useless paper. Dash wondered if it was the copy that had the bit about the new professors- yes. From Althea's reaction it seemed like it.
"Oh so that was you?" A smile played on his lips. Clearly she was upset by it, and the right thing to do would be to leave her alone and let her get over it. But Everett didn't always do the right thing. "Please don't tell me you are getting worked up over all of that trash?"

It would be an impressive feat if he had. "And? ... How is that going?" she asked.
On another note, now that she had the attention of her new colleague she wondered how he was settling in. The girls here could be quite... hormaonal? "So how are you settling in? The girls aren't giving you a hard time are they?" Because he was clearly... handsome, why wouldn't they fangirl over him?
"Thank you! I am quite capable of getting it myself however. Just so you know for next time." Everett still smiled as he brought the cup to his lips. He liked doing things on his own. So apart of him felt bad that he had even let Seren pour the tea for him.

"I've decided however that the best name that would fit you. Would be, Bentley." Yes. He would call her that from now on.
He took another sip of his tea. Yes. Everett liked it in the staff room much better than in his office. Sure his office was cosy but the lack of human interaction was boring. Just as he was swallowing the hot liquid, Seren asked him a question that Everett really never expected. After a small coughing fit, he put his cup down before eying her. "Should they be?" Teenage girls really did annoy him. Even when he was a teenager. "I would say I'm quite settled though. But it still feels weird to be back in this old castle"

When Edvard fell to the floor he couldn't stop himself from crashing to the floor and bumping his head on the hard stone floor quite severly. He saw stars for several second's until he could focus on Althea's voice of concern.
It wasn't conern for him, but for his telescope! Blinking and blinking once more he sat up and mumbled "I think the telescope is okay." Holding up the telescope towards Althea he asked "Can you check it for damages and also fix the focus charm?"

Seriously... was she for real? Seren rolled her eyes a little.
"You alright Edvard?" she asked in a concerned tone, never mind the telescope, they could be fixed, but people could hurt!
Raising his hand to touch his forehead Edvard gave up an involuntairy "Ouch!" as he inspected the big bump which had grown out. He had taken a harder fall then expected. His forehead wasn't the only thing which had gotten itself a onceover. The pain shooting out of his right foot was just as bad. Hearing Seren's concered tone he shot her a smile "I'm okay. Edvard's world rocked for a good moment before it became stable again. Walking carefully over to a chair next to Seren he sat down mumbling to nobody in particular "Why did they have to build a castle full of only stone floors..."

Edvard was at his best massaging his throbbing foot when a man whom he had seen at feet asked if the floor was all right. Blinking Eddie replied slightly offended now. "The floor is fine...It's made out of stone. A troll couldn't even do damage to it." Seriously? Why were his colleagues more interested in material damages then his well being?

But enough of that, she wanted to know what nickname he had thought up for her. This is quite exciting! ... and yet so so disappointing. "You blame me?" she repeated in a flat tone. No she was not impressed, and no it was not her fault. "Don't blame me... blame my mother." Bentley... how original. "I'm used to that I suppose, but I wouldn't consider it a nickname." It would do. And now she was her smiley cheerful self once more.
"... I would have thought they'd be throwing themselves at you by now." Yeah she just came out and said it. Girls would be girls. "Though I suppose its a good thing that they're not."
It was good to know he was settling in. Heck he felt comfortable enough to deny her the right to serve tea! Nobody EVER did that. Ever.
And there he went again... what was with the sarcastic humour huh? Seren rolled her eyes.

He really didn't look too well. Good thing he sat down though. She laughed lightly, trying not to be too serious and to break the awkward tension that hung in the air. Hhmmm... "Well I'm sure they didn't design the castle intending to trip people up." She gave Edvard a wink, she wasn't having a go at him... unlike others. Just easing the tension.
Doing the nice thing, the friendly, welcoming thing, Seren poured Edvard a cup of peppermint tea and pushed the tea cup in front of him. "Drink up, you'll feel better in no time." Tea was the cure for almost everything... except bad personalities. Seren only hoped she wouldn't be barked at for serving tea again. It wasn't her fault... it was how she was raised.

Althea gave the man a mildly disgusted look. Really? Ego check, please. Hard to forget, maybe, but not necessarily for the reasons HE probably thought.
"For the better, I'd hope." She answered coolly. She HAD changed, but it was more than just an improvement in looks. If he thought that was all, then he was sadly mistaken. And shallow. And good looking. Unfortunately those things tied together often in Althea's experience.
"I have a right to, especially if Tate did nothing to correct the Daily Prophet on this." No, Althea was proud of her qualifications, and her teaching experience, as well as her industry experience. Really.
She would be writing a letter and do her best not to make it a howler.

First thing she did was use a lightening charm. But otherwise, the blonde woman was now on her knees, tinkering with a telescope and her wand.

Seren sipped her tea after pouring one for Fina.
Gosh she loved the smell of fresh peppermint. So clean and crisp, and very good for circulation.
Temporarily having distracted herself with inhaling the sweet aromas from the tea, Fina had completely lost herself and those in the room. Had Seren said something? Everyone just seemed to be talking around her or transfixed in their own thoughts.
But the words Maya and Australia had brought her back. Seren never met Maya Saylen? Staring in disbelief for a moment, she then smiled briefly in understanding. "Oh sorry. Maya was the former Magical Creatures professor. She left just before you got here." Because even in the short time Fina had been there, she'd already evidently seen her fair share of professors resign.

After she handed over the trash news article, Fina regretted it almost instantly. Considering the reaction that Althea seemed to be giving, now Fina understood a minute too late why Tate wanted them to forget the article. Not them, but more just Althea.
The brief conversation thus far with Dash though had Josephina thinking back to her school days some more. And with Thea preoccupied with reading the article, Fina could think more. In particular, she recalled a scene with her older sister when she was just a mere third year, asking about the 'girl with the glasses', whom Fina knew was in her sister's house.
"I know you." Fina said suddenly.

Alright. So that probably hadn't been the best way to start off an introduction. Dash sucked in a breath and stood up, making his way over to the man. "Sorry about that. Merlin, women were so defensive. Everett had almost forgotten that after working alone, by himself for a few months. "I am sorry." He said stressing every word. "I was simply thinking that if you start to get things for me now, eventually I will become lazy and make it a habit." And Seren was no house elf so that didn't need to happen. Right? Right. Good.
Dash shrugged. Alright then. He would blame her mother. "I quite like your name though. Very unique." This coming form a man who studied history. He knew names. And unique names were like nicknames in their own. Seren could stop being so sad about it.
"Very good thing." Dash murmured. Any teenager and their hormones? No thank you. He didn't want to deal with it. "I detest teenager girls, even when I was a teenager." But back then it probably had something to do with his inability to speak to then rather than the fact that they were just annoying giggly, pink messes. Again. A simple joke. Women. Dash shook his head in frustration. They were going to be the death of him. Slowly forcing him into old age because of their harsh disapproving looks.
He blinked a few times, unsure of how to answer her so that he wouldn't offend her more than she was (of course he was only judging by her cold tone). "Well..." The word lingered on his tongue for a few seconds. "...I would hope so..?" The words sounded natural and innocent enough to him, but it was always hard to tell.
"Well why would he? To let the prophet know how upset it made the staff members? Of course that would lead to more articles probably saying worse things like how some of us mucked stables." Or something equally as stupid. Everett rolled his eyes. It was an article. One that would be forgotten in a matter of weeks.

Smart aleck Slytherin? Well! That was exactly what he wanted to go down in History for! That or the boy who set greenhouse three on fire. Which every one got him more press from the Daily Prophet.
Of course.
"Well forgetting me seems to be a problem with many of you." He said nudging his head to Althea. He wouldn't be surprised if she gave him another dirty look. "Oh! I am just FANTASTIC! Seren didn't remain disgruntled for long. Dash's appology sounded sincere enough. Smiling she looked up from her tea cup. "That's fine... really," she started, shaking her head slightly. "It's probably for the best. I like to help out but after a while I tend to stick my nose in places they don't belong and I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate that." Not many people did. But she did do it out of the kindness of her heart.
Unique... not where she came from. Laughing lightly Seren shook her head, "Growing up I knew at least three others in my neighbourhood that shared the same name. It's Welsh and it's meaning is Star.. it's not very common, but it did have it's moment." And of course that moment happened to happen at the time of her brith.
He didn't like girls when he was a lad? Well now that was strange. "This is my second year," she mused, continuing to sip on her tea, enjoying the warmth it offered her.
She could feel him starring at her... why? But it was only seconds later that he asked the question. Did she attend Hogwarts? She looked back at him. He didn't look all that familiar... but it was possible they went here at the same time. Especially possible if he was here at the same time as Althea. "I did... I was Class of '65, Ravenclaw... And yourself?"
